I went to hook and Reek on Telegraph Road on Thursday April 17th. With my mom, sister and nieces. It was my sisters birthday. And I must say that we had a great experience. Food was very good, but which made our experience even better was having JAMEERA taking care of our table. She had a very welcoming, positive and professional attitude, she was always checking if we needed anything, she made fantastic suggestions about the menu. Then she brought a very nice dessert for my sister. I live in Canada and I am a travel agent. I really value a good service, I wish all the restaurants have someone like JAMEERA. I can recommend this restaurant for the delicious food, but also because JAMEERA will be there giving you the best service posible.

Ashley R was amazing. My Daughter really loves this place. I thought the boils could be seasoned more & have more sauce. The drinks were great & the crab fries are amazing. I also enjoyed the specials & Happy Hour

Google
The reason I'm giving it 5 stars is because the place and food is exactly what I expected. Deep fried, salty, abundant , and laid back. Our server was super nice and patient. She asked if it was our first time and walked us through the menu . I believe her name is Ralhael. I hope I spelled her name correctly. There was a trainee with her, a young girl. She looks very promising. Keep up that friendly attitude and beautiful smile, young lady. You will get good tips . My husband got the boil, I forgot the name . It comes in a bag . He enjoyed it. It was definitely an experience. I got chicken wings with fries platter. I don't much care for having my food served to me in a bag, like a dog 😄 . We had a good, salty, heavy meal. It was a nice time. We went for lunch so it was quiet . I'm sure it gets a bit louder during rush hour. P.s. we algo got calamari appetizer . Now that was nice. It was an actual calamari appetizer, not just a bunch of fried dough and slivers of onions . I recommend it 👌

Google
Absolutely great place to have dinner !!! The waitress was so pleasant, attentive, very friendly, just a great waitress overall. The restaurant was very clean, very great atmosphere, and delicious food. I would come back again.

Google
I'm a little torn here. Food was good but not sure of value to cost, although I know prices are going up everywhere. Honestly, I didn't really know what I was getting into, for example not thinking garlic butter as a sauce in the bag and not on the side and in my mind clams being in the boil and not strips on the side so it wasn't for me. My wife liked the shrimp, but didn't care to Peel off the shell. I also should have gotten a side of Cajun seasoning for corn. The food was good overall but I would probably go in for happy hour and appetizers. The Margaritas were my favorite part of the dinner, but not sure I would get a boil again. Our server Rachel was awesome and appreciated how she took care of us.

Love this place! The mini shrimp boil with seasoned garlic butter was AMAZING! And Jameera makes a bomb white sangria. My thanks to her and Jennifer for a very enjoyable and tasty evening. Again...LOVE this place!

Bena was amazing. She was in training but did a terrific job. I loved the crab fries.

Yelp
The food was so fresh and delicious! The mini boils are such a great size to anyone. The staff were very helpful and open for discussion. Such a great time and delicious food.

Gee A.

Yelp
Good seafood boil. Better than crafty crab . The ingredients are fresh and cooked well.

Autumn M.

Yelp
the king crab boil is great and the mild cajun seasoning is amazing. I paired it with a strawberry margarita that was tasty as well. I dined alone and the waitress was very attentive which made the experience nice. The crossword puzzles on the table covering were entertaining as well.

Yelp
First let me just say that the service here is fast. The staff is superb and courtesy is at its very best. I am very picky about seafood it all depends how it's prepared. They have a full bar here so the odds are good they will have your favorite beer. The setting inside I love because it reminded me of fisherman's wharf and a little about Gillian's Island. The boils here are very good. I love my with shrimp, lobster, mussels, and broccoli. There is even some potatoes and corn on the Cobb added to this. Just remember your choice in spices and sauce because I ask for the mild one. That in itself tasted hot with a little kick. This restaurant is an outstanding place to bring in the whole family. The kids will love this place and its food. That's is all. Chief Respect the ocean and its wonders that way it will respect you.

Yelp
Been wanting good seafood for a long time. Taylor location has all you can eat menu so we decided to try it. It was $39.99 per person. Each person at the table has to order all you can eat and you have 90 min to dine in. 18% gratuity included. My fiance and I got sodas, two soups, calamari, and I got 2lbs of crab legs and 2 lbs of head off shrimp. My fiance got crab legs and head off shrimp along with a ceasar salad. Literally everything was perfect. We were so full by the end. And all for less than $100 out the door. This will definitely be a regular spot. The ambiance was definitely comfortable. Big environment. The waitstaff were so welcoming as well. It was overall a good experience.

Mark D.

Yelp
All I need is mild bag, with king crab, sausage, corn and potatoes with a modelo and my day is complete! My taste buds go bananas everytime I am here.

Reagan T.

Yelp
Two of us went to dinner here on a Monday around 6 pm. The restaurant was not too busy and we were seated right away. Our server was relatively prompt to take our order and checked on us a couple of times throughout the meal. I opted for the shrimp, mussel, and crawfish boil, which came with a couple of potatoes and one-half ear of corn on the cob. Having never dined here in the past, I opted for their signature seasoning on the mixture of items. Overall, the boil was just OK, not great. The seasoning was not that spectacular and basically drowned the flavor of the seafood. The mussels and shrimp were severely over-cooked and dry. The crawfish were very tough. I probably was not opt for this restaurant in the future, given the plethora of wonderful local, family-run businesses in the area.

Yelp
Food pretty good, service OK. The menu is limited, they specialize in boil bowls. We got a snow crab mini bowl with seasoned garlic butter (mild) and The Shell Shocker (regular boil) with head-off shrimp and Dungeness crab with their house spice blend (mild). Each bowl was $20, and a cola was $3. Both boils were ok. While the corn and potatoes were both overcooked, the seafood tasted fresh, and the portions were fair. The spicing was indeed mild and nothing to write home about, yet this provided a good opportunity to fully taste what seemed like pretty fresh seafood (for Michigan). A few minutes after dropping off the food, the waitress checked on us, then we didn't see her again until it was time to ask for the bill. The ambiance was fun/festive -- reminded us of a tourist trap along the eastern coast, like we were on vacation. Overall, glad we went for the experience.

Madisen H.

Yelp
Jennifer is awesome!! I come in pretty often but she made my experience today great. Very personable. I got the $20 snap and peel special they have right now and it was delicious. By far my favorite out of the other locations to dine at.

Lisa W.

Yelp
This is a location, I don't ever have to return. Customer service is dry, not bad but dry. My margarita had WAY too much sour in it, I could barely drink it. I got the AYCE meal and my seafood was over cooked. Super soft, the shrimp was pretty much mush. Whatever you don't eat is 15.00. They have Pepsi products as well, which wa a bummer

Angela D.

Yelp
It all tasted overcooked and dry. $110 plus dollars down the trash. Very disappointing

William M.

Yelp
The food was good, service was great. It was the first time I been there. I am from out of state and I know we have a Hook&Reel back home in Conn. Which I will be visiting.

Gabrielle M.

Yelp
Awesome seafood boil restaurant! Service was very friendly, me and my fiancé were asked if we were new customers, we were, and we were provided information on food and drink specials, and asked if we needed help with the menu! (Didn't need help, I always look at menus online first before coming to a new restaurant lol) Crab fries appetizer was delicious, we inhaled them. Seafood boils are very generous in quantity, potato's, corn, and seafood was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant atmosphere was comfortable, I liked how the lights weren't very bright. Best seafood boil restaurant we've every been to.

Shahnaz B.

Yelp
The Best Seafood restaurant in town, Oysters are amazing, Yum Yum everything is Yum.

Qian H.

Yelp
Food is good but I'm really disappointed because im in a hotel and they didn't give me fork or any other thing to eat the spaghetti . How am I supposed to eat my spaghetti ?with my hand ???? Please bring the fork to me next time !

Yelp
Vietnamese Style crab boil. Yes please!! We've been eyeballing this joint ever since it opened up. Now we're here and now we put this gangster spot to the test. We did two orders. First Order: Shrimp and Clams with the garlic butter sauce on medium spice. Just to get a feel for how spicy their level is. It wasn't too spicy, but the seasoning was on point. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and so was the clams. Second Order: Crawfish and Mussels with the house sauce on hot spice. This one was properly spicy. House sauce was definitely on point. Food here is perfect for drinking beer while shooting the breeze. I definitely enjoyed EVERYTHING!!! This spot would've gotten a perfect 5,, BUT! The runner kept forgetting the rice that we ordered with our seafood. She done it twice. Plus I don't know why she was wearing her face mask incorrectly. Maybe because she has more "FREEDOM" than all the other workers. If you're going to drop off food near us. Please cover your nose because I don't want your lung droplets around my indoor enclosed space. I'll let this one slide for now since everything else was totally on point. But if I ever return and this is not rectified. I will remove all stars and leave this joint with one. There's two known places for Vietnamese Crawfish boil in Metro Detroit. I would give it to this one over the one. Just because I had a really good time. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
PICK UP ONLY **During Covid** Let me just say when I pulled into the plaza - it was jammed packed with vehicles. I order only through a direct ordering link on their website; not sure how comfortable I feel using a 3rd party in case something is wrong and due to the price. -Please don't get discouraged if they don't answer the phone after 5pm because I'm that's when dinner rush HITS. I did call before to ask how long my order would generally take she replied 20mins. When I place the order at 6:50pm, then I received an email stating my order will be ready at 7:11pm (please check your junk mail as well). I was a little bit skeptical but I arrived at 7: 13pm - there was no line when I walked in but the place was still crazy busy but social distance was enforced regarding seating of the customers. I was instructed to go to the back where that is the pickup area - waitress asks for my name and she quickly came out with my order; honestly I was shocked that it was a done already. they also request that you check your bag to make sure everything is there before leaving. Hush puppies only made it in the car basically - they were good but not the bomb. But baby let me tell you I ordered snow crab legs to clusters and it was very flavorful - I went with garlic seasoning. Also with a side of wing baskets which came with a sweet potato fries and there was no upcharge if you selected those. I do appreciate that they have options... Small has 1 crab legs cluster and larger has 2 crab legs clusters. I'll be back. Happy Eating!!!

Yelp
I love love love the seafood boils here. Whenever I'm craving seafood, these boils are the best thing for me and for around $100. my husband aand I will eat lobster scallops, mussels, shrimp, crab legs, dipped in a butter, sauce, butter, garlic sauce with seasonings and potatoes corn, broccoli and noodles it is our most favorite seafood meal there, food other than the boils here is just OK but the boils are to die for they have a really good lobster bisque soup that I would recommend to anyone, but stick to the boils at this place and you will love it here. All their other food is not that good but the boils make every trip worth coming back. I'm addicted to the boils here. I crave them about once a month there's it's a Forest app you pick your package you can pick your voile specifically you pick the sauce they have a list of sauces that's the number to once you figure out what you want for your seafood, then you can pick the mild hot or medium then you go on and pick your atoms you can add and all sorts of sometimes we get sausage potato you can put rice you can put noodles. We love the noodles And they come out pretty quick because they just put everything in a big bag and they boil them and bring them out to you you get messy you put gloves I have gloves for you at the table and a bib a plastic bib so you don't get dirty but it is really fun messy and delicious I keep coming back and I know once you try a good boil with a good seasoning you pick a good butter sauce or and your add-ons, and you will be hooked hooked in reeled in.

Loletha B.

Yelp
The reel catch: crawfish, snow crab legs black mussels, potato and corn garlic butter, mild sauce Seasoned close to perfect, overwhelmed with garlic but I guess it is suppose to be. Pick up order was done quick and hot!

Cheeze R.

Yelp
We ordered the 4 for $44 deal. It was 1 crab leg cluster and 3 choices of whatever seafood you wanted. We chose shrimp, crawfish & mussels. Medium heat. Very good and not pictured is a side of rice we ordered as well. The waitress provided us with some shrimp chips which were very addictive!

Graziella B.

Yelp
The decor in this place is really nice for a seafood restaurant, almost the look of a giant shrimp boat with lots of net and rope. In fact, it puts be in mind of Bubba Gump's Shrimp. The price for crab legs are pretty steep for the amount of clusters you get in a bag. The clusters are not large at all, they're the smaller version of snow crab legs. Their fried shrimp basket is actually very tasty and their red skin potatoes taste the best with the garlic butter. Make sure you get the regular butter for your crab legs, not unless you like garlicky crab meat! The corn on the cob was sweet. Oh, and how can't forget about their French fries, they were fried to perfection with just amount of seasoning. Make sure you save your Kroger receipts, because on the back of the receipt is a coupon for $5 and $10 off your meal.

D H.

Yelp
An experience indeed, this is a seafood restaurant. No over welming fish smell like you may get with some seafood restaurants. You get a legitimate seafood boil experience. The staff is friendly and will educate you if you are not use to using the tools needed for this delicious feast. They make all the necessary commendations for your dining experience, to keep your table clean. Delicious appetizers, I ordered the calamari. My entree crab legs, corn and scallops, in a butter garlic sauce all prepared to perfection. Clean, delicious experience. If you are like me and have been looking for oysters in the Detroit area I recommend.

Maureen D.

Yelp
We ate here because we love seafood. There were similar places near by our Atlanta suburb home, so we knew it would be great. It didn't disappoint! Hubby got the seafood shrimp boil. You can choose the degree of spice in the sauce. It's cooked in a plastic bag with the sauce and boiled in a large pan. They bring it to your table, rip it open, and pour it on your plate. He chose to add a hard boiled egg to the dish. If you've never had it in the spicy sauce, you must try it. Very yummy. I got the shrimp salad. Meant to order grilled shrimp not fried. Luckily the breading was not heavy and very tasty. We didn't have drinks, other than water, so I can't rate the bar. We'll definitely be back. We highly recommend this place!

Michael B.

Yelp
Food is great especially the shrimp platter If you go between 4 pm to 6pm happy hour your entree is half off

Femi J.

Yelp
We are from out of state! I have to say this place has some very good seafood, great customer service especially Brandi, our waitress. She was very helpful and explained how things worked. Thank you so much for being so kind to us!

Yelp
I ordered 2 catfish dinners last night before they closed got home to bite into it and the fish was still raw in the middle and stunk I immediately got nauseous and spit it out I decided to then inspect both meals had 3 pieces of fish each w fries 2/ 3 pieces of fish in BOTH meals were STILL RAW in the MIDDLE . I called for a refund and a polite manager told me their store manager will NOT ISSUE A refund and that I should have brung the product back that night I would have but however , how was I gonna bring it back when they were closing at 10 I wouldn't have made it in time looks like I paid for food poisoning instead of a 3pc fried catfish meal ....disappointing

Magdalina P.

Yelp
Bag Broil - This is my kind of place! Eating by hands. Let's begin with the atmosphere - inviting and feel like I walk into the Bahamas Sea shoreline. Haha I love the decor and the bathroom door with the Marvels its Dope! Safety - they follow safely. When we come in, they told us to put down our name and number. They recommend were to go back to our car to wait and they will be texting us once our table is ready. The tables are space out. Everyone is wearing a face mask properly. Hand sanitizers are in every corner. The staff is friendly & staying busy. Our Server - Troy! He is the BEST from seating us down throughout our dine-in was kind, prompt, and very observant of what we need. He delivers the BEST customer service and we wish you all the best Troy. Thank you for taking care of our dine-in expectations and experience at Hook & Reel.

Nassrine ..

Yelp
Highly recommend for the authentic experience. Atmosphere and decor are cool. Staff is super helpful! Try this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Alicia K.

Yelp
ONLY USE CASH---Long story short there's crooks that work here! I dined here several times and recently noticed an extra charge when I used my debit card here! I've been disputing it with my bank and the crooked place sent a receipt denying any fraudulent charges well the tip was wrote in when I left a cash tip for an extra $15 AND I DIDNT WRITE IN A TIP at all someone wrote it in themselves

Linda N.

Yelp
Was looking for a good spot to grab some crab legs because I was being lazy and didn't want to make my own and I stumbled upon this place. I had never heard of it and was surprised because it has been a few other similar style restaurants that have recently open in the metro area. Before going I called to make sure that they were actually open for dine in because of Covid. Once we arrived and as we were being greeted by the hostess and waitress came up and started questioning the waitress on why a group of people was sitting at one of her tables. The hostess has now forgotten we were standing there and proceeded to continue talking with the waitress about the confusion and then finally after almost five minutes she says come on and follow me. She took us to a booth and we sat down and we both looked at each other like this is weird...the tables are too small for the booth seats. I literally had to sit on the edge of the booth seat to reach the table comfortably. Mind you, I'm not short and neither is my husband and it made sitting somewhat uncomfortable. Anywho, our waitress came and she was very nice and offered suggestions and was very patient with us as we asked several questions because my husband doesn't really even eat seafood. I ordered an original margarita and my husband this overpriced Hennessey drink. I had to get an extra shot of tequila because my margarita was nothing but mix and we sent my husband's drink back because for $16 it should have tasted like something other than juice. We ordered our food and it came it quickly and it was hot. All of our food was good, the seasoning and spice was on point and the portion size was nice also. Outside of the drinks being not so good and the wall by our booth being a little dirty, everything else was good. We went around 3pm on a Tuesday and it was not crowded which we liked and they are practicing social distancing. I would go back and hope there is another bartender working.

Yelp
First time charm.. the atmosphere and decor in this place is phenomenal. The customer service is even better. We walked in and was greeted by a very friendly host. We got seated and met our server Che' who wrote her name on our table which was pretty helpful. We ordered our drinks and appetizers.. came out promptly but I wasn't wowed on the food. The crab bites were just okay kind of mushy and my Sierra Mist was pretty watery. On to the entrée... I ordered a chicken po boy.. my dad got the catfish po boy and mom got the shrimp basket. My dad eats anything so his "mum this is delicious" doesn't count. They ordered sweet potato fries with their sandwiches which were delicious instant regret on my behalf I ordered Cajun fries. Omg, their sweet potato fries were definitely better than all of my food. My sandwich was dry and fries were Luke warm. It was plated very well and even cut into two pieces to eat without the big mess but it needed something more in the flavor and sauce department. I think that based on everything else I will return and try something else to eat. I really enjoyed my experience here.

Patrick V.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! We have been to this place twice now. One time during dinner and another during lunch. Dinner time was crazy and the wait for long. However, the wait was worth it. The place right now is only running at half it capacity, all staff wearing staff. The food is good for the price and the sauce is actually good. We have been to many place like this around the world and this one is comparable. Lunch time was not as busy. Getting seat was just a walk in. My advice is go before the dinner rush. Unless you are on for waiting.

Keith D.

Yelp
Unbelievable tasty and delish!!! They have managed to create a restaurant that pleases the seafood lover in all of us. I went close to closing. Our waitress Ciana was helpful and friendly. She even took the time out to tell if the businesses startup and why she like it so much. I enjoyed watching how excited she was explaining the place

Kinya L.

Yelp
Happy, they were open for inside dining during this pandemic. I waited for about 15 minutes to be seated. We gave our telephone number and stayed in the car until we were texted that it was time to be seated at th The service was horrific. It took about 10 minutes to be noticed, and the order was quick, except it was incorrect. It took another ten minutes for the waitress to correct the wrong order. The food was well seasoned and plenty to enjoy.

Liz T.

Yelp
I had never heard of this place. Not so surprising because it only opened two months ago. Anyway. My brother said that he wanted to check this place out because he saw a picture of one of the dinners and thought it looked good. So we went on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner (beat the crowd, eh?). The parking lot was quite full and I prepared myself for a wait. The wait was for the carry out food only. Surprised, we were taken to our table right away. DJ, our server (who did a fabulous job), took our drink and appetizer order quickly. Masked and gloved, I never saw her without appropriate coverings - never pulled her mask down. Kudos to you! My brother and I both ordered the Crawfish boil, mine was mild because I am such a gringa when it comes to spice) and he ordered medium. Hubby ordered the catfish dinner. Appetizers came out quickly, dinners appeared soon after. Amazing smells! I learned to eat crawfish in New Orleans and loved them there. These were every bit as good. The boils a brought to the table on a platter with a big bag filled with spicy (but not too spicy) mix of seasoned garlic butter, corn, a few potatoes and a pound of crawfish. I might have died and gone to seafood heaven right then and there. They were beautifully presented and cooked. I think that I had sauce up to my elbows. Hubby had been craving catfish and thoroughly enjoyed his tender catfish. It was a really decent sized meal with enough for him to take home. In case you are there, and order the calamari appetizer, it's amazing dunked in the sauce from the boil. Skip the bland marinara sauce, add it to your boil dinner. Dinner for three, with no alcoholic beverages was $61. Not too shabby and tasted way better than the place with the red lobster in it's logo. Come here first.

Garry B.

Yelp
Hands down..this is one of the best seafood "boil" restaurants. First of all, they have great service. We only waited about 30 minutes although we were told it was an hour wait. The server was really nice. The manager made us feel so welcome. I ordered the reel catch combo with snow crabs, shrimp, and mussels. It came with corn on the cob and potatoes. I also added hard boiled eggs. There was so much food. I could have easily split this with another person. I ordered it with spicy lemon pepper and it was amazing. I will definitely be back. Plus they have clean restrooms...

Johnnn G.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great prices. Had the mozzarella sticks were clearly frozen and industrial tasting, marinara sauce came in a sealed pudding cup, made the appetizer experience very odd. Had one of the boils, seafood ingredients were fresh but the whole dish was very heavily salted. Shrimp poboy was tasteful, the breeding on the shrimp was done well, honey mustard sauce was good as well, the lobster bisque that came as a side was not that good, very thick and no lobster pieces. Crackers were also salty. Overall the food was just ok but couldn't complain to much since the prices are very affordable, build out and ambiance was nice and well taught out.

Yelp
Wow....where do I start. First of all living in this new "norm" of Covid it's been hard to get out and enjoy dining again. But the experience here at Hook & Reel was amazing. From Brandi our super knowledgeable waitress to the cool nautical vibe of the restaurant, and then the food....I'm seriously "hooked" (pun intended) lol This little treasure tucked away in a strip mall awakens your senses as soon as you step inside and smell the aroma of garlic & butter. We ordered a watermelon frozen margarita and a Louisiana Riptide both super yummy and refreshing and a steal at $6.00 each. We ordered a basket of hush puppies which were good but would have liked to had something that was more scratch made. Being our first time here our waitress suggested, "The Reel Catch". Talked us through the different mussels and their glove profiles as well as the seasonings which was spot on for our taste. Food came fast and hot (we were there between the lunch and dinner crowd) but it filled up fast. The black mussels were the most tender and melt in mouth that I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Flavor flavor flavor !!! Was a fun time and trust me you'll get messy so be sure to utilize the plastic bibs and gloves (although my husband did the gloveless thing) Overall food was delicious, cooked to perfection, super fresh (no fish smell or taste) and satisfied our appetites completely. We will be back ! There's so many other things I want to try !! **in our boil we had crab, lobster tail, black mussels, crawfish, 2 potatoes and 2 hunks of corn on the cob. We also went with the house seasoning. ***My only complaint...restroom needed some attending to. Especially in this high sensitivity of Covid 19 I've come to expect ultra clean restrooms...this may have been a small over site since I saw how very involved the front of the house manager was and she had a lot of newer employees still finding their way. But in this day and age needs to be addressed.

Yelp
Love Seafood? Then you have to try eating here! I love the seafood broils. You can mix and match you protein or just pick one of the preset s

Michelle T.

Yelp
We took my dad here for his birthday and we loved it. However we forgot to take pictures of our food we got. We got a seafood platter for us both with garlic seasoning, sausage, potatoes, corn, crabs, mussels, and shrimp. It was very hot when it came to our table. But it was delicious. The food was excellent and everything was going ok until they turned on the music it was very loud and awful music we couldn't hear one another to talk to each-other. My dad turned down his hearing aid! Lol just so it wasn't so loud. We had a good time until half way through when the very loud music came on. We will come back to take my mom here for dinner but we hope the music won't be as loud as it was that day we took my dad.

Rui T.

Yelp
I really like the snow crab legs from here, and I always order the small catch. So today I want to try the large size, unfortunately, I found there is one cluster is not really fresh, even not really heated, and you can see the difference from the photo.

Yelp
First timer!! I love a good seafood boil and have heard great things about this place for a while. They said the order would be ready in 15-20 mins & it was! The thing I love about this place is that they offer scallops! One thing that I want to point out is that all sauces aren't created equal. I ordered scallops and shrimp with the hook n reel sauce. I was a little disappointed in the sauce. It seemed to lack seasoning. I'm used to being able to SEE the seasoning. (You know, when it sticks inside of your corn and the shrimp & crab shells.) This missed the mark. I found the sauce kind of bland. The spice level was good. The shrimp and scallops were cooked well. Overall, I was pleased. I would try this spot again however, I'll try the seasoned garlic butter next time around.

Yelp
Seafood was great as always. But my son got the chicken tenders kids meal and it was more like 5 tiny popcorn chicken pieces (hardly) and 6/8ths of the plate was fries. So maybe next time we will stick to not taking the kids with us. Especially anti-seafood kids.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. I've ordered to go twice and been inside to eat two times. Both waiters I tipped over 25% because they were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and HONEST! One young man admitted he didn't know the answer to a question so he sat down and googled it for us and shared the results! The environment inside is upbeat and the decorations are so cute! Don't forget to raise a picture w the pirate on your way out! Singleness Crab has become a favorite of mine. The Hot wings were delicious. I fell in love with the steamed oysters. There's such a huge variety of food and I can never finish everything!

Yelp
Pretty good for a bag broil! No plates just paper and a bag of seafood of your choice! We did king crab snow crab (DELICIOUS) with shrimp, and calamari! It came with potatoes and corn in the broil bag to. I'd skip the calamari that's in the broil and get the breaded appetizer. But come for the sauce and the crab and it's great! PREPARE TO GET MESSY! cooked oysters were great to for my first time eating those I'm happy I tried them! The place is new to everyone including servers plus dealing with covid good things take time and it was worth the wait. Very fun place to take a date or family fun night!

Yelp
This was our first time eating at the Hook & Reel. We went not knowing what to expect. While it didn't compare to eating seafood on the coast, it definitely came close! I plan to return and try some other menu items.

Yelp
This is the absolute time I will order from here. I've eaten from here 3 times and they've messed my order up all 3 times. This last time my order was missing the crabs and eggs. The order slip was on the bag with all the items that was ordered. How do you keep messing up the orders!?!?? Can you not read??? Puns you give too many noodles. It soaked up all the sauce! Now I have a bag full of noodles with dry shrimp and no crabs or eggs! I'm down with this spot! Please go to another location if you want seafood!!

Yelp
I don't really know what to say. The customer service was good and expected. However the food could of been better. The coconut shrimp was ok a little over cooked but I wasn't as bad as the salad I got with shrimp in it. Shrimps we're not cooked all the way and the salad was just dry with no dressing. Also I could tell that the table and menu were not clean because they were both sticky. One more thing to add which I thought was funny, the ketchup they had was called "Fancy Ketchup" which tastes like the kind you get at McDonald's . I was an interesting but bad experience, maybe I'll try it again some other time, but for now I'll go somewhere else...

Yelp
Great food, however I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking your bill that was process through your bank accounts! ALSO, "Wait 5 days for the money to deposit on our end then we will refund the money" My meal was $58.83 and I left the waiter a cash tip and wrote CASH in the tip section because I don't like tips or gratuity on my debit or credit cards. I check my bank accounts regularly since I do have multiple sources of income; I look at my bank statement for HOOK N REEL they pulled $65.69?! Where's the disconnect to add $7 on my bill w/o my authorization..I'm confused? I agreed and signed to pay what was on my bill which is $58.83! I called and the manager says wait 5 days for it to process back on your card...um it's been 9 days with no refund. My girlfriends also noticed an additional $7 added to their total bill. THE SCAMILY OF TAYLOR, MI IS HOOK & REEL! BE CAREFUL.
