The Donovans work directly with Great Lakes fishers and local fish farmers in order to vet quality and ethical impact. Brightly lit, the fresh fish and shellfish are displayed on sparkling beds of ice. Hooked also carries a variety of local produce and home-made soups and sauces. Ordered the double smoked steelhead Salmon, citrus smoked spring Salmon and smoked mackerel. The double smoked Salmon has a delicate texture and intense smoky flavour while the citrus cold smoked salmon has a subtle profile. Both were Served with whipped cream cheese and chives on a bagel with kumato tomatoes. Excellent pairing. Haven't tried the mackerel yet and will update soon.

We love buying from this place especially their smoked fish dips, but found one of the staff a bit rude. We wanted to grab the $2 oyster promo for wanderlust but she kinda just dismissed us saying she didn’t have time to shuck them. Maybe she was just busy and tired but didn’t like her approach at all. The cashier told us to head to the other side to order so if she knew her coworker didn’t want to do it, she could just have told us from the get-go or to just order and come back for them later idk.

I try to shop at Hooked at least once every other week... if not once a week. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to lend a hand. I made Paella for the first time earlier this year and they helped my find everything I need. The black tiger shrimp and Ahi tuna steaks are a staple at our house.. but their Chorizo, Mussels, squid, octopus, seafood and lobster stock, frozen tuna cubes for poke bowls are all incredible. They also source all of their items responsibly and can tell you where everything came from. I highly recommend Hooked, it is one of my favourite parts about living in Leslieville 🏆🏆

Dropped in yesterday to browse. Customer service was outstanding. I left with a container of smoked salmon spread for $14. It is sooooo delicious just as the clerk promised. Definitely going back. I want to try the clam chowder, salmon burgers and more.

Great fresh fish! We picked up (for the first time) Lake Erie white perch fillets as well as a two pack of frozen crab cakes $12/2. Both selections were excellent and, let's face it, you get what you pay for. Friendly service and chill shopping experience. Back soon.
