Hooked

This is one of my favorite places to go in Lansing. Amazing coffee & tea. Great books. This adorable book cafe is a great spot if you are needing to get some work done or even for a cute little date night with your partner. The staff is always kind as well. 10/10 recommend!

Great coffee and iced tea. Nice atmosphere with lots of books to purchase. Was surprised to see that there was liquor available for purchase. Will stop in again

I really love coming here! The drinks aren’t too expensive and they’re always so cute and fun. I love browsing the books while here and the staff are always so nice :-) the food is a bit pricy for what you get, I would just stick to ordering drinks or pastries here in the future

Hooked is a cozy library cafe where you can order some pastries, coffee or small foods to enjoy your comfort and working with your laptop or studying. Their almond croissant and Golden Milk Latte was okay but not my favourite, but definitely recommend it if you stay near to check it out and find your spot for a better focused time for your personal experience.

A little overpriced - but I keep coming back! The food and drinks are great, the staff is always pleasant AND helpful, and they've got a nice selection of books, stickers, mugs, ect. I really like that mocktails are offered here as well!

Bookstore and coffee shop combo with great selection and variety of titles, and delicious pastries and food. Worth a stop in, close to MSU campus and Frandor shopping center. Lots of seating room where you can read, eat, or study.

The bookstore is exceptional and well-curated. The coffee shop is okay, but drinks are somewhat overpriced (a flavored latte here is $7.00 before tax and tip, which is $1.00-$1.50 more than other local independent coffee shops charge). I disliked that smaller tables were reserved for groups of two or more, and individuals are asked to sit at the communal table (although this rule doesn't seem to be enforced when business is slow). It's worth mentioning that they're open much later than every other local independent coffee shop that I'm aware of, which will be welcome news to students and those wanting a late afternoon or evening coffee.

Favorite spot to study or grab a coffee and read a book. Food is good, wine is great, coffee is amazing. I've looked everywhere for a spot that compares to here but haven't found anything

Stopped here with hubby and got a wine flight to share and some books! Recommend. The atmosphere was amazing - imagine cozy bookshop meets cool cafe meets community hub. I'm looking forward to going back and getting a chai or trying their food. There are tons of great books to choose from (I discovered a couple of new authors I hadn't seen at other shops around town) and they have some board games you can sit and play with friends while you hang out there! We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was hopping. Employees were friendly and cheerful and managed to let everyone take their time ordering while still working through the line quickly. We'll definitely be back for future date days or hangouts with friends!

Update 11/26: honestly, this coffee shop has been the one thing keeping me going. I'm here probably 2-5 times a week trying to finish my grad apps and it is the only place I can get work done (vibe=incredible). Music is mixed but always enjoyable. Occasionally they throw in bad bunny which is fun. The pastries are incredible still. The tea is amazing, even if they did run out of chai today. The London fog was good, and a bit bitter but I liked the change from my regular chai. I understand that they've had a huge amount of demand, plus supply chain issues, so things run out. The service is normally great and always have awesome things. I've done the wine flight and loved the bold reds. Also really liked the charcuterie board (it was huge!!). I've had their cocktails and they were pretty large and have so many fun flavors. This shop is everything I needed and more. I'm so sad I'm leaving EL soon, because this is a once in a lifetime location.

Great music, great book options, and plenty of seating for people getting work done or catching up in this lovely coffee shop right by the university. And the cinnamon oat milk latte was delicious!

A very unique business! Probably best experienced on a rainy day and has a good selection of both brews (of the coffee kind) and books!

Hooked is excellent. I like the medley of books, food, coffee and booze. I don't drink so the booze means nothing to me, but I have heard good things about their selection. I look forward to trying more things here!

This is such a fun addition to the lansing area! I loved the coffee and really enjoyed the ambience. It was a super great place to catch up with an old friend. I look forward to trying to their wine flights next!

I just tried this place for the first time and I'm so glad it was recommended to me. Super cute, clean, and cool environment. I'm a big "coffee shop" person, and I will definitely be returning. I got the chai tea latte and banana bread...and wow, YUM! Definitely a little pricey, but similar to places in the area I guess.

Hooked is small but has an excellent selection of books. I only had the chance to try one of their drinks (the chai) but that too was very enjoyable. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. My one negative is the decoration and atmosphere. For a place which a concept that encourages patrons to hang out and spend some time in the store, it's not as cozy or welcoming as one would hope. This review was written based off an experience had near their grand opening though, so with any luck the owners will recognize this and adapt as time goes on. There's a lot to love here and you'll be missing out if you skip it. If they ever meet the atmosphere expectations set by their concept I think they'll have a 5/5 review on their hands.

We had a lovely Saturday morning breakfast at Hooked recently, and it was fun for all ages. Mother, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate flights. Our granddaughter had a kids' charcuterie board, which was amazing, Tasty and nutritious! The bookstore is amazing!

came here for the first time the other day and it may just be my new favorite place. i absolutely love the vibe and despite how many people are there, there's plenty of seating (and parking) to accommodate all. ontop of that, my latte was amazing and the barista was so nice! looking forward to my next visit

So glad this place opened! Good work space, good drinks! I have had tea and coffee there. Looking forward to trying the wine and charcuterie soon! I have big plans of sitting there and writing my book, and switching from coffee to wine as a reward. I enjoyed browsing the book selection as well. Check this place out!!

Nice variety on a coffee shop! Cozy, quiet, good latte and pour over! I enjoyed goat cheese toast and coffee while reading a white paper enjoying a day away from the office. Friendly staff greeting you upon entrance. Give this place a try and draw your own conclusions!

Overpriced average coffee shop. Haven't been impressed the last two times I went. Expect to spend too much

Amazing local coffee shop, wine & beer bar, and bookstore!! I mean what else could you ask for! There are very few coffee shops that are open late in the Lansing area and I'm so grateful for Hooked opening recently. The staff are super friendly and their baked goods & coffee are excellent. My new go-to coffee shop!
