AWESOME BURGERS VERY FRIENDLY STAFF My wife and I dropped by here for lunch a Saturday in June of 2025. The place has a great old-time vibe. It is clean and well kept. And it offers several seating areas. The menu on the wall offers nice choices. We chose a bacon-cheese-burger with fries and a fountain drink. The service staff were very polite and professional. The food was ready within 10 minutes. The burger was absolutely awesome. Very tasty and juicy. Mouthwatering. And the fries were well seasoned and very tasty. An absolute must-visit if you are in the Stockyards.

The lady who took my order was sweet as can be. I got the Indian taco, because I haven’t had one in literally 20 years. I went right at opening so I had the place to myself. Having said that, one other cute guest did join me. He was very polite ❤️ the taco was SO GOOD. Hit the spot, and the warm salsa/sauce they serve with it is super tasty! Patsy cline songs were playing most of the time I was there which I appreciate. Immaculate vibes.

Google
4.5 total. Got a double burger and it was great. I was expecting the onions to be more caramelized by default. Still a great burger. Next time I'll try the burger with caramelized onions added to it. Indian taco was unique and good. Def worth trying and splitting with multiple people. The thing is huge

Google
Oh my word. These are some solid burgers! Best I've had at a restaurant EVER!!! 10/10 recommend to get burger and fries. (I never review, and this place is SOLID!) The guys I was eating lunch with were humming of contentment the entire time. 😍 Fresh patties formed by hand, fry bread made from scratch, EVERYTHING from scratch 🤯 AMAZING!!!

Mark Dyslin

Google
Amazing place. For burgers, hot dogs, and fry bread entres and desserts. We had regular cheeseburgers and a fried onion burger (which is a smash burger with caramelized onions). All of them cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed full of flavor. We also had the bacon cheese fries and they were gooey and crisp all at the same time. To finish off the meal we had their house banana pudding (creamy and full of flavor but not overly banana) and the fry bread (we had our with cinnamon sugar and honey for dipping and the fry bread was prepared to perfection). Tontop it all off, Ruth, one of the owners was as sweet and kind as could be; you could tell she loved preparing food for her customers.

Google
The best Indian sundae ever!! Great burgers, coney dog and frito pie! Owners Ruth and her Mom are the sweetest ever!! We’ll be back! Super cute atmosphere! And 2 blocks down from the Stockyard. Cute place and it has an upstairs for more seating.

Google
After walking through the Stockyards, we wanted to explore lunch spots outside the area and found this little haven. They have a covered area with fans, which is useful in 90+ heat. To start with positives: The burger was great. The Indian taco was refreshing and shoestring cheese fries nicely seasoned. The negatives: Ordering these 3 items took around 5 minutes. The nice breeze in the shed was disturbed by a smelly homeless man that decided he had to sit next to us, not on the other side of the shed. Overall. It is an interesting experience. Probably just a one off.

Google
Hookers is a staple of Fort Worth. They've won best burger a few times. With that said I must have missed the magic. The food was fresh and by no means was it bad, But I didn't have anything that made me feel like I just have to have it. The lady that takes your orders was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. She was very kind very patient, she explained the menu, she explained the ingredients she even came and checked and asked if we liked it I was with a group. I didn't answer cuz I didn't want to lie but everybody else in my group thought it was really good. The green chili gravy was original and was good and everything was cooked perfection. Not a bad place.

Yelp
Came here primarily because my girlfriend wanted to support local native businesses. She had known of this place, but hadnt had a chance to try it out. We had a weekday off and decided to make an effort to show up. We werent disappointed! We didnt want to go into a food coma, so we ordered an indian taco to share and some tater tots. It took maybe 7 minutes for our order, which was not bad at all with them frying up the frybread on order. To our surprise, the owner decided that the one frybread we were initially having was too small, so we got two "medium" frybreads with all the fixings. The owner is super nice and didnt have to do that! The frybread itself is the best Ive had at a restaurant in DFW. Its soft, while crispy and substantial in its doughiness. The fixings are not fancy, but they are executed well in every aspect. I like that they offer green chili sauce in addition to all the typical taco fixings. The tater tots were super crispy and were exactly what I wanted in tater tots. While the seating here is in a covered outdoor shack, they do have air conditioning. The day we visited was a pleasant 70 degrees, so there was no need for the AC to run. But I also mention this in case you come in August. I imagine the AC unit does a good job, but its not a typical interior setup.

Yelp
Really cool place Great fries and the grilled onions made Dog friendly they gave me a bowl of ice water for my Lexie

Vilma R.

Yelp
The Indian taco was delicious and definitely shareable. The customer service was excellent.

Yelp
HOLEY MOLEY. This is one of the best burgers I ever had. We were taking a trip to pick up something off FB marketplace...and if we are driving to Fort Worth, you can bet your bottom dollar I am going to find a fun place to eat while we are there. I had this place bookmarked and knew they were known for 2 things: a cheeseburger with grilled onions, and an Indian taco (which I really think they should change the name to "puffy taco" or Native American taco...) Anyhoo--I will dream about that burger, the cheese was so melty and the crispy-edged thin patties were divine, and oooooh..those charred/ caramelized thinly cut onions...it was a guy bomb for sure, and not one iota of this thing was healthy, but wow, it was fantastic. The Indian taco was also great, and I would go on and on and rave about it, but for 2 things: The burger eclipsed it, and it gets soggy pretty fast, I wonder if you could ask for it "deconstructed" and then assemble bites as you go with the beef, sauce, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes...It would be pretty messy, but I bet it would be even better than it was. We didn't get any sides, but were were contemplating the onion rings, and a nice lady heard us chatting about ordering them, and offered me one of hers, --they were good, but it was breaded rather than battered (the superior version of an onion ring) The fries did look good, and they looked like they were made from fresh potatoes rather than frozen. Note there is no inside seating, so beware in the summer. The bathroom was fine and clean. I asked for a refill of soda and they happily obliged. They prefer cash, but will begrudgingly take a credit card.

Yelp
We were drawn here by the good reviews and the even better name. I'll come back because of the great service and delicious food. We ate upstairs while listening to some great music. I'm a huge fan of black pepper, so I loved the fries. Give this place a chance!
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Delicious, fast food perfect for after an evening of drinks at the Stockyard. I got a grilled cheese and fries. Grilled cheese was made correctly with both sides of the Texas toast grilled. I heard another woman say her go to was grilled cheese after I already had mine. Fries were thin cut and yummy. Others in my group got burgers, tots and onion rings. Nothing was left behind! In fact, we wended up getting two Indian sundaes to share. What's an Indian sundae? Great question. It's fried bread with ice cream, syrup, whipped cream and a cherry. Every bit was eaten. Service was friendly and, like I mentioned before, food came out quickly which is important
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. Hookers is tucked away in a small alley/offshoot a bit away from the main hustle and bustle of the Fort Worth Stockyards but they have fantastic food - primarily a burger joint although there were some other options on the menu. Their signature addition is fried onions, pickles, and mustard on the burger. I'm not a huge pickles or mustard fan but my goodness, the onions were delicious. The fries are hand cut and seasoned and also incredible. Overall, would certainly go back and would 100% recommend!
google avatar

Hailey S.

Yelp
i love hookers !!!!!!! possibly the best burger i have ever eaten !!!!! i'm honking!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
This is a too favorite restaurant for me now. The Indian Taco is awesome. It blends New Mexico with Texas to perfection. The Hatch Green Chile is delicious and perfect amount of warmth and flavor. The burger was very good, and the fries were the right crisp and salt ratio. The Indian Sundae was a fantastic take on Fried Ice Cream. Walk around the Stockyards before or after. Just perfect. The desert was so good I forgot a picture, but it was so good!

Hobbes D.

Yelp
Great local burgers and fry bread! Excellent t shakes, although the shakes were a bit runny. Owned by Native American. Women. Do yourself a favor and get away from the tourist crowds. Head up the hill and sit outside where it's quieter. Great place!
google avatar

Marty S.

Yelp
Omg that's a GOOD burger! I don't know what they put in it but the spice is perfect, fresh meat and topping. The fries are really good too. Didn't actually need the salt I put in them.
google avatar

Brent S.

Yelp
First time here and we LOVED this place. The burgers are cooked on a flat top and the fries are freshly cut. I added jalapenos to my burger and they were just the right amount of heat. Wife had a BLT and said it was great. Fresh cooked bacon. We came at 1:00pm on a Wednesday so we got to spend some time with the owner, Ruth. What a nice lady. This is a great spot early or late night. The prices were really good as well.

Connor L.

Yelp
Skip all of the other restaurants and RUN here for the best burger you'll have in a long time. Great prices, excellent food. **Get extra napkins**

Lori M.

Yelp
Decided to try this place after all the good reviews. Wanted a good ole school greasy burger . Did not disappoint !!!!! Loved the burger & onion rings . Got the fried bread (cinnamon/sugar and honey ) Sooooooo good !! And I would definitely go back again. Customer service was awesome as well

Mallory S.

Yelp
Service was amazing- staff was super friendly! Best burger I've ever had! Frito pie was off the chain, also! Stockyard staple!!!
google avatar

Kari M.

Yelp
Looking for a good ole' burger? Well, this is the place. Located a little way down on Exchange St -- from Leddy's walk West and on the opposite side of the street. Mainly outdoor seating but some inside with full in country vibe with Merle Haggard and Tammy Wynette playing for your dining pleasure. Walk up to place order then they call your name to pick up at the window. Menu is highlighted for their burgers but also have BLT, hot dogs, fried bologna, hamburger steak and the like. Sides are hand cut fries (1 order could share w/2people) tots, onion rings-- can add chill/cheese to most. Burger (famous) toppings are grilled onions, pickles and mustard--anything more is extra. Some soda options, tea and beer. Open late (like 2:30a) on Saturday for those finishing up late at a nearby honky tonk or saloon. Family working hard to make sure your experience is excellent, which it was. Will definitely recommend and return. Come check them p

Yelp
Came here on Friday for a bite to eat after the concert at billy bobs. Food took around 20 minutes despite it being pretty dead. Burger was incredibly greasy and pretty flavorless. Fries were dry and unsalted. Overall I think there's better food in the food trucks around the area and I wouldn't come back.

Alan B.

Yelp
The bacon was crispy and the patties were seasoned and crispy around the edges. Very juicy and tasty burger. The service was excellent. The only problem is it's not air conditioned but they have several fans. It was hot but not unbearable. Will definitely be back.

James L.

Yelp
Wife and I tried after a recommendation from girls at Tacova boots. It's definitely a hole in the wall place. Ordered a double cheese, single and onion rings and two beers. Messy for sure but great burgers and the onion rings were fried perfectly. The onion fried with the burgers were most excellent.
google avatar

Jiyao H.

Yelp
Pretty decent American food place. There is indoor sitting as well as outdoor. You order at the window, and they yell your name when it's ready to be picked up. The only thing was that their credit card was down when we visited, and they only accepted Venmo or cash. Very nice folks too.
google avatar

Pauline J.

Yelp
Oh my Gawd!!! What a delicious, greasy, tasty, bit of wonderfulness!!! You got to look for this place, but it's truly worth the effort!! Sit at a picnic table and marvel at all the people spending way more and getting way less at the more obvious places up and down the Stockyards strip. YUMMY

Matt L.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to lunch while at the Stockyards. Everything at the Stockyards was packed and mostly overpriced. Found this place with good reviews on Yelp. Took a short 2 block walk away from the madness. The food was good. My kids loved their food (burgers, chili fries, hot dog). The service was great and they were really friendly. Would happily eat here again next time we're in town.
google avatar

Patti S.

Yelp
Fast food without tasting like everything fell off a Sysco truck. Burger is on the smaller side, but that is what I wanted in the moment. Grilled smash style burger with grilled onions and a toasted bun. The tater tots were really good. I assume they fry the Indian fry bread in the same oil as the tots because it added to the flavor. The burger and tots were perfectly seasoned without being overpowering. They have their own free parking which is always a good thing in the Stockyards.
google avatar

Phillip L.

Yelp
The food was just as amazing as the service!! Tastes just like you were in Chickasha. Don't sleep on the Indian sundae, great way to end your meal.
google avatar

M A.

Yelp
Best burgers, onion rings, fries and shakes today! Very kind service & fun, dog friendly atmosphere for our family.

Terry P.

Yelp
I ordered a hamburger and a chili dog and an unsweetened tea. People that work here are amazing and it feels like home. The food is also similar to homemade and the hamburgers were amazing.

Robyn T.

Yelp
Love supporting Native American Owned business. They have the best Indian Tacos. My fave! Ruth and her mom are amazing.

Mark A.

Yelp
Great tasting, fresh fried onion burger! Definitely recommend coming here when you are in the Fort Worth Stockyards!!
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
This burger is at the top of my list now.Me and my wife got two burgers order of onion rings and two drinks.let's star off with the burgers. They are top notch. They were well seasoned and the fried onions they put on them is really delicious. Now the onion rings were frozen but they were actually pretty good but wasn't worth the price tag they put on them.If your looking for a damn good burger check this place out.You won't regret it.

Jon S.

Yelp
Absolute ripoff. We got three double bacon cheeseburgers and two fries and they charged me $60. The sign says double burger is $8.95, so adding bacon and cheese must add $5 to each burger. Then, she charged us $3 each for tap waters. $60 for three burgers and 2 fries. The lady working the counter was coughing up a storm and barely able to figure out which check was ours. I would avoid.
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Best hamburgers, tasty, classically dressed and reasonably priced. but this Willow Park location is closed now, we're so sad. Haven't tried their stockyard's location, it is a bit far. If we're in Fort Worth we'll give it a try. Why can't I post this review

Craig B.

Yelp
Not to be missed when you're in the Fort Worth area. The burger exceeds the hype and the "Indian taco" is a must have! The owner Ruth is so kind and wonderful- you can truly tell this is a labor of love. 10/10!!'
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
It's fine. That's what I'll say. Before you walk 3 blocks away from everything in the Stockyards district, know that there is no indoor seating. There's a dark shed you can sit in or tables outside. Not a great restroom situation. Food took longer that expected considering what it was. But it tasted good.

Gerson M.

Yelp
Best burgers at the stockyards hands down, our to go to place for burgers! Staff is nice and friendly, food comes out fast and hot even though they are Short staffed. We got a double chilli cheese burger and one double cheeseburger without the onions both were the best burgers we have had in a long time. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere:

G A.

Yelp
Good food, good service, I had the onion burger and green chili gravy tots with a couple beers. Onion smash burger was very good
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
If you're going to eat anywhere near The Stockyards or craving a burger or just delicious in general, Hookers Grill is the answer. Thin patty hamburgers to die for and the Indian Taco is about the best and most unique dish I've had in awhile. Locally owned by about the nicest and most hospitable restaurant owners I've met in ages. Do yourself a favor and get yourself here as fast as you can. Hooked for Life.

Mark C.

Yelp
The Best Burger Ever!! The team was amazing and I will be back soon!! Ruth Hooker, Niki, Mason and Isaiah were amazing. You have to come here and experience the manic!! Mark Coreil
google avatar

Chip M.

Yelp
Excellent food and service!! Burgers, fries and special shout out for the bologna sandwich!
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
You aren't missing anything if you pass this hole in the wall by. Just say "good bye" as you drive by. You will be doing yourself a favor. Chili dogs taste like canned chili. Chili cheese dog was served cold, the only redeeming thing is that the onion rings were hot. Drinks come with so much ice I wondered if I was getting any drink at all. Overall, expensive and food quality is very poor. Won't be coming back!
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
This place was great. Food was super great. Loved the burgers, and especially the tots. Workers were very nice, and it fit in great with the feel of the stockyards. Will be back next time we are in the area.

Chelsea K.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I have ever had matched with the best service. Very cute place. Dining is outdoor with large fans. Everything here was a 10/10. Try anything on menu. It's all good and reasonably priced.

Chris H.

Yelp
I'm a local, not a tourist. I've been here twice now. Total rip off. 3 single burgers(1/4 lb), two fries, 2 sodas and 1 water. $45.00, paying cash. This place is just really chintzy and shady. $.50 for cheese is fair enough, but another $.50 for lettuce and tomato? Want a cup of tap water? That's $3.00!!! They only offer "caramelized onions", you can't get raw onions. What kinda burger joint doesn't offer raw onions on a burger? One which is trying to cut every corner imaginable. Don't have cash? Add another $3.00 charge. Want a receipt? You'll have to demand one, and they'll give you a generic order ticket, handwritten with a total that isn't properly itemized, doesn't show tax, etc. They don't appear to even have a real cash register. That is, one that was manufactured after 1985... What percentage of their revenue do you think they're actually reporting? All of that being said, the burger itself isn't bad. The beef quality is high, and it's juicy. The roll is low quality though, not nearly hearty enough to stand up to the toppings. It becomes a soggy mess immediately. Fries could be good, but they're over-seasoned and overcooked. The dining area is literally a barn, with 20-year-old weathered picnic tables and a dirt/gravel floor. Which is fine for me, but the price ought to reflect that. Understand, I wouldn't mind paying $15 for a solid burger combo, but this is a very average meal, served in a run-down barn. The owner has obviously not invested anything back into the business for some time. He's sucking off the tourists, milking it for every single dime.

Sara S.

Yelp
It's worth the walk to find this place a few blocks from the Stockyard area! The burgers with fried onions here were fantastic. We ordered at the counter and sat outside at a picnic table. The fries are thin and hand cut, and one order is large enough for 2 people to share.

Autumn H.

Yelp
Excellent service!! Love that I can get Indian Tacos! I grew up in Oklahoma and hadn't been able to find them in Texas, so I was making them at home. I could drink the green chili and the hamburgers are delicious!
google avatar

George M.

Yelp
Great burgers but the place is a fucking rip off. $32 for two cheeseburgers and one order of fries?? Are you kidding me?!?!? They don't tell you that nor give you a receipt. Fork it over!! In and Out is better and less than half the price. Avoid this rip off joint.

Texzilla Z.

Yelp
Oklahoma produces some fine eats and the onion burger is one of them. These are some of the best anywhere and the service is great. Get an onion burger and an Indian fry bread taco...Ayo!
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Let's start with the location. What a cool spot. I had no idea this area even was!!!! There is this cool outside patio that's two story so yes we sat on top. It was a get day so this was perfect. We both ordered one of their Hereford burgers with all the extras, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato and Thai wasn't just iceberg lettuce it came with romaine lettuce. This was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten!! The flavor was just perfect. It's super messy so grab napkins. The very nice and pretty lady who helped us was an absolute doll. I can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Friday night hangout! It's very laid back with great music. They have a great "Sky" patio for the best people watching in the Stockyards! Took my out of towner friends who have El Rino, Ok roots, they approved of the food! Fort Worth is half the drive for a good taste of her home town too! She already said she is making a monthly pilgrimage from San Marcus for her Indian Fry Bread. The Hooker's are the sweetest people & make you feel right at home. LOVED watching the Horse Dream carriage departures from this location. I almost hate to leave this review...I want this to be my "secret" happy spot...but I just love it to much to keep it to myself. You want be disappointed, it's unlike anything Fort Worth has to offer! Yet again another Unique Treat for us! Hamburger- mustard, pickles, onion & cheese Indian Fry Bread -Crave-able Green Chili Gravy Sweet Corn Slaw on the Chili HotDog BEER We dug in before the pictures!

Yelp
Was really excited to try this. The line and wait was very long, the food was meh. The burgers were nothing outstanding, the Indian taco was light on toppings (the fried bread was good though) and we ordered green chili fries that fries were way salty and hard to eat. Hard to get drinks or ask for extra condiments from the window. Overall, not the experience I'd hoped for.
