Google
I have been wanting to try these mochi donuts for so long. I got an assortment of six. They were all OK, but five stars all the way for the cinnamon sugar, and the chocolate. Those two are incredible and you shouldn’t waste your time on the others 😆

Catered my wedding! Very friendly staff and easy to work with. Had a wide variety of flavors to choose from, all of which were delicious!

Google
It’s a little sad that their quality changes depending who makes it? I guess? But the first time I tried these donuts I really liked them. This time I had the guava crunch and the cookie butter with oreo. The cookie butter with oreo was a little better than the guava one. The guava donut was okay, but I was disappointed at their frosting. It was a little runny, I personally like set frostings better. I don’t know if this was a mistake or if that is how it’s meant to be, but i think there is room for improvement. Donuts are 2 for $6

Ordered three different donuts. The best was the powdered sugar donut. The chocolate had an unusual after taste. Not sure if it was my taste buds or if there was something unusual in the chocolate. Would get all powdered sugar next time.

These doughnuts are the perfect mini size and always come out warm and fresh! The cookie empire is delicious as is their regular chocolate. Highly recommend stopping by here especially on a nice day!

Hookt Doughnuts has been on my to-try list for a while, so I'm excited I finally had the chance to go visit this past weekend. They were open for takeout even during SF lockdown. Ordering was done non-contact through their website; there was a sign on the window and a QR code (which didn't work for me, but fortunately the URL was easy enough to type in). On the spot I ordered a pack of a dozen mini donuts to go - oreo cookies with cookie butter, caramel, and ube coconut - and they were ready in 5-10 min as promised. My favourites were definitely the ube coconut ones. I shared the box with my bf and we ended up finishing them throughout the day while they were still warm (ish, by the end of the day) and soft; though since we finished them relatively quickly though, I'm not sure how they would hold up over more than a day's time.

Sadly, we were waiting for this place to open at 11am on a Sunday. We waited until 11:10am and they still weren’t showing signs of opening, so we went across the street to the other donut truck (which was excellent). I intend to try the mochi donuts sometime, and if Hookt is open then according to their posted hours I will update my review.

Google
Donuts are too pricey. While their texture is alright for a mochi donut, it's a bit too firm and less on the chewy side. Some flavors aren't too strong either (ex: cinnamon). Not bad but I would go for Mochill in Japantown instead.

Yelp
Yo Hookt! I'm mad at y'all! I came to the Sparkt food trucks looking for you and you weren't there? Why'd you leave!? I almost cried. I've scoured the Bay Area for mini donuts and Hookt are the best. The flavors! The hot, melt in your mouth texture! I'd tear up a whole box. I'm sad. I want more mini donuts but I don't want to drive from the east bay to south San Francisco. Please come back to Mission Bay! I wants you and I needs you. I don't ask for much in this life...come back to me. Abeg.

Yelp
Awesome place! I think this is a newer location given the limited reviews. I wanted mochi donuts for my niece's birthday, and came across this location that's super close by. I went on their site the day of, placed an order for pick-up with a 30 minute lead time (which was the soonest available slot), drove there and picked up my dozen. The order and pick-up process could not have been easier. The pick-up location is tucked away on a small street where the parking lot is like an office plaza, with several buildings in it. It looked like a back entrance but you'll see the ramp that leads to the pick-up window. There was no line so I went up, paid, and picked up my donuts all within a couple of minutes. The donuts were a hit with the family! Slightly less sweet compared to Mochinut. A little doughier but the chewy texture is still there. I got the dozen so we could try all the flavors which included: chocolate, matcha, ube coconut, cookie butter with oreo, peaches n' cream, and apple spice caramel. My favorites are peaches n' cream and apple spice caramel with matcha close behind. You can't go wrong with any of them, probably boils down to your taste preferences. I'm definitely returning if they have new flavors or whenever I'm in a mochi donut mood.

Yelp
I found out about Hookt Doughnuts through my sister, who wanted to give this place a try. I'm not one to crave doughnuts, but I had never had mochi doughnuts so I was willing to give Hookt a try also. I placed an order for pick up in SSF and had no trouble finding their shop after studying the pictures on their website and looking at street views on maps. It wasn't busy when I went and there were a few nearby parking spots available. (FYI: order pickup only at this location.) I ordered half a dozen mochi doughnuts: cinnamon sugar, matcha, cookie butter with Oreo, ube coconut, and peaches 'n cream. They were all chewy and tasted fresh, though some flavors I enjoyed more than others. My favorites were the cookie butter and peaches n cream, and the one I thought was rather plain was the cinnamon sugar. (I didn't try the matcha as my sister ate that one.) Overall, I personally found it was a pretty good first experience with mochi doughnuts. Also, I liked how they were flexible and allowed me to change my pickup time, and my doughnuts were handed to me as soon as I got to the shop. (Turns out they were actually ready 20 minutes earlier than my requested pick-up time.) A plus: 20% discount code for pickup on Sundays!

Yelp
(Overall: 78% | C) - I liked the cinnamon donut hole concept and tastes quite nice actually; however, at $6 per half dozen of these mini donuts, this price point does not feel like it is worth the quality of these donuts as the flavor and texture could be elevated in more interesting ways.

Yelp
Hookt is the new mochi donut spot in town (and I believe the very first) and let me tell you, I am HOOKT. They operate out of a cloud kitchen, just look for a pastel blue building with a pink door! I placed a preorder online for all the flavors the second I saw it under new businesses on Yelp and picked it up the next day. MUST TRY FLAVORS: - Cookie Butter Oreo: I don't have to explain myself. Just friggin get it. Thank me later. - Strawberries & Cream: I believe they use real strawberry purée drizzle on top of a cream glaze. SOOO good. the puree drizzle is to die for. 11/10 Must get! - Ube coconut: I'M SHOOKETH. I'm not a huge fan of ube but certain places do ube flavor really good, and THIS PLACE DOES IT SO WELL. So for a gal who doesn't like ube and actually really enjoyed this flavor, Need I say more? Before trying the donuts, I thought it's only fair to compare them to one of their top competitors, Mochill Donuts in Japan town because they both fall under the same price range. I prefer Hookt's icing flavor over Mochill's. So flavorful and the matcha even had a slight bitterness to it which means they used a good amount of matcha. However, the texture isn't as soft and fluffy as Mochill's. I would totally order from here again though, and it is actually so dangerous because their kitchen is only 10 minutes away from me.

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled upon Hookt through Instagram. The last time I had Mochi donuts was in japan with Mr Donut. I was willing to give it a try. -$38 for a dozen -- bit pricy in my opinion for fried dough and sugar. Flavors ordered Ube (with coconut flakes) Classic chocolate Peaches and Cream Matcha I personally enjoyed the matcha and Ube the most. The matcha is the super matcha flavoring where there's a hint of bitterness. The ube is delicious too! Peaches and Cream is too sweet for me. The dough was the perfect amount of chewy as the icing almost came off easily. It almost looked like the icing could easily be wipe off. We ordered in advance for quick pickup. This is a nice treat, but not a donut for every day.

Yelp
Placed an order through DoorDash for Sunday pickup at 1pm in SSF. I called when I arrived and they told me they're closed that weekend and it's an issue I'll have to sort through with DoorDash, even though I already paid for my order a week prior and had the confirmation email in hand. I said "ummm... okay. Well it says you're open online, just an FYI." Lady (found out it was the owner) said I can go to Mission Bay if I want in SF, but there's a 2 hour wait "sorry." No form of extra assistance on Easter when I was supposed to bring these donuts to an Easter family party when their website had bad info on it. She repeated to tell me "sounds like an issue for you to sort with DoorDash." I would like to add, I went on their website to order, there was a link that said to order through DoorDash, which I did. I followed the instructions on their own website in placing this order. Donuts are bomb but their customer service, or lack there of, is terrible. I'd rather support a small business that actually cares about their customers. In addition, there's no one to even escalate this to because apparently it's the owners who treated me this way. Feedback from the owner: "sounds like your frustrated and wanted to take it out on us" And then a few days later, the owner followed up with: "looks like you have a lot of bad reviews on yelp and bad energy" As opposed to taking responsibility of the problem, that's the feedback I get. Nice.

Yelp
Was I hookt? Naw this was a miss for me. I ordered through DoorDash and was not impressed. Presentation wise they were beautiful but taste wise it just did not give me that satiety. At $38/doz was not worth it for me. The only flavors that stood out for me was the ube coconut one. It's hard to say what it lacked. The Mochi consistency or the sweet tastes that would have complimented the Mochi donuts. I should have bought the 1/2 dozen just to try all 6 flavors. I was just being greedy bc my friend bought me a popular sample from mochill and I was hella craving. So here I search on DD & found Hookt as an option I decided to order. I was thinking I'll just buy a dozen and get 2 of each flavors so I won't have to share. Yeah I just wasted money, lesson learned not all Mochi donuts are created equal hahahaha

Yelp
Found this place online looking for Mochi donuts. The process is super easy.. order online for pickup at the time you want. The mochi donut is slightly sweet for my taste but that could be the flavors that I selected. The people are super friendly and the directions from others on how to get to the location (pastel blue building with pink door) is definitely helpful.

Yelp
Donuts are great if you can get past the owners awful attitude. Rude service, bitchy tone. All in all I would go there more often if someone else owned it or could deal with the customers better. The website says open but their location is closed. Do better. That's all I'm saying.

Yelp
Got the box of 6 and tried all the flavors they had and it was so good! I haven't found a place in south San Francisco that did mochi donuts and this place was good. However, finding it was a challenge since it was location in this place where there are tons of other werehouses and it was located in the back. Parking wasn't bad

Yelp
I love mochi donuts. I get them once in awhile and Hookt Doughnuts is my go to place. They are close to home and work and easy to pickup.

Yelp
Amazing donuts. Amazing owners. Not to mention the creative blend of flavors and colors. The mochi donuts, while they're all the rage, these guys have been cooking up batches forever! Their mochi donuts are chewy good. I could eat them every day. Of course, you have to try their namesake, mini donuts, with a cup of joe. Hang out on the nearby benches and soak up the freedom of stepping outside your home with some donuts.

Yelp
I ordered online and they called me an hour later to cancel, stating that they sold out-kink that they should fix! Ended up buying mochi donuts somewhere else.
