I've drove past this bar so many times not realizing how amazing this little place is. The drinks are some of the best I've had. Great ambiance, the service can be a little slow but that didnt bother me. There were alot of people there and the drinks were worth the wait. I did visit while they had their Christmas menu and all of the drinks I tried were phenomenal. Definitely worth checking out! They also have a little food truck connected to the back part of the bar if you end up getting hungry.

As a fellow HP nerd, I loved visiting here this October with all of the decor. I came on a Monday and the drink artist wasn’t having a good day I don’t think. She barely spoke to us and didn’t put on the typical show we get when we come here to get drinks. Last time I was here was during the Star Wars theme and the gentleman was such a vibe making sure all of the drinks were handcrafted and put on a show. True craftsmanship. Regardless of who the artist is, I love the vibes and atmosphere of this place 💗

Google
Sweet staff, great drinks, good vibes, decent prices. Will definitely be back and would love to know if there’s a happy hour! Great time to sit outside upstairs around sunset. Live music is actually great!

Mario C.

Google
Excellent & outstanding drinks! The bartenders bring great vibes and they understand the customer service side of the business! Prices are good for the quality experience! Must try!

Michelle R

Google
Service was mid, took the bartender a while to acknowledge us even though we sat right in front of her at the bar. She finally asked us if we were ready to order, but we never even saw a menu to order from. There were maybe 10 people in the bar, most already served. So we asked for a menu and ordered after she came back around. Drinks were fine but based on the service probably won’t come back again.

Google
I can’t believe there’s such a great bar in Round Rock! Everything was perfect—the drinks were amazing, and the bartenders were so professional. I loved watching their flair bartending and the smoke effects while mixing drinks! I’ll definitely be coming back again. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful weekend night!

Google
Hoot & Annie is a gem of a speakeasy. I'm a perpetual and exclusive Old Fashioned drinker and theirs are among the finest I have ever savored. Ive never had a bad bartender here, but you'll be the luckiest if you're served by Angel.

Steph D.

Google
The vibes, service, and drinks are always off the charts amazing here. Great for dates and impressing friends - their themes are quality (May the Fourth and Christmas being my personal favs). One of my favorite spots!

Yelp
My daughter and I went on the very last day, but were so thrilled at how authentically decorated the little nitch was-it was perfect!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
We have always loved coming here until our last visit. The drinks are always wonderful but the service was terrible! My husband waited in line and was next but then the bartender looked right past him and asked the person what they wanted, which we found to be incredibly rude and disrespectful! What is the point of waiting in a line!? I feel the excessive decorating with owls is also overkill. We get it you guys are "Hoot" and Annie but wake up! Owls are ugly and creepy! I will only come here again if it is happy hour or severe discount pricing!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We were hoping to find a Christmas bar in downtown Round Rock and found exactly what we wanted at the first place that we strolled into! They had great decor and vibes! The drinks we had were all really good, great craft cocktails. I had the Baby Owl Always Love You cocktail and it was perfect! The bartender was nice and helpful! Perfect festive holiday stop!
google avatar

Cinzia L.

Yelp
The bar is pretty small but the ambiance is great. Loved the vibe all around. The drinks were super tasty! Nice variety of specialty and classics. Saturdays they have a DJ and the place is popping!
google avatar

Julianne K.

Yelp
Amazing drinks! One of the best espresso martini's. Also have enjoy the smoked old fashioned.
google avatar

Dana A.

Yelp
A few of the staff seemed like decent people but a few of the bouncers were so rude. Not to us, but to other people. The bartender that helped us was also rude. There was a long line and there was absolutely no sense of urgency. I've never seen someone make a drink in slow motion. It's fun for the Harry Potter Halloween vibe but not going back.
google avatar

Roxann D.

Yelp
My sister and I are huge Harry Potter fans so seeing their Instagram page that they'd be serving HP themed drinks and set up like HP we were stoked to support something local and enjoy our love for HP. Upon arrival (early mind you bc we went on Halloween) the owner/bartender opened the doors. We greeted her with excitement which in turn was met with distain. According to their insta page each drink should've come with some sort of "smoky" illusion. This didn't happen. This drinks were alright but pricy. Bartender was not friendly. Not sure we'll go back.
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Have to stand in line for bar service (which is okay) but after several minutes of the staff serving other patrons seated at the bar, the bartender then asked the person behind us for their order. When we protested, the waitstaff argued with us. The person behind us still got his complete order before they finished ours.

Alec M.

Yelp
The one drink I had was great. However, the bouncer at the back door guarding the bathroom had a serious ego problem. I simply went to use the restroom, but he failed to notice me go in. When I came back, he said, "Why didn't I see you leave?" I replied, "I don't know, man, that's your job." To clarify, I even had my dad wave from inside so he'd realize I was with him. Still, this wasn't enough for his inflated ego. He falsely claimed I was "belligerently drunk" and kicked me out, after just one drink. All because he was on an extreme power trip. I've never been treated like this before and was completely shocked. Even the bartenders and the front bouncer agreed with me. This was unacceptable and embarrassing for this establishment. I will never be back.

Yelp
Came in on a Monday for a round of cocktails. This bar has cute speakeasy vibes. There's some grea people watching views. Bar tender was super friendly and knowledgable about the drinks. Great lil place! Bathrooms are in the bar next door and the outside area could use a little help. Otherwise a solid cocktail bar!
google avatar

Haley B.

Yelp
Cute little spot, great bartender, and the drink menu was fun with reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Been dying to check this spot out and it did not disappoint. We are HP and bomb cocktail buffs so this place was truly magical. We came on their busiest day, a Saturday night, so my one and only complaint is how crammed it is because it's a small spot. Ironically, I have been to all the bars next to here and never noticed this spot (ironically goes with the platform 9 3/4 theme). We came at 11 pm and were able to snag a table from a group who was leaving thankfully. We were only going to stay for one drink, but they blew us away so we all got two rounds to try new ones. All of the cocktails are priced super fair if anything lower than normal prices for the amount of work and talent they put into them. Espresso martini: 11/10 - comes in extra chilled glass Smokey old fashion: 10/10 - let us carry the smokey box to the table (never had a bar allow that, super nice and chill of them) Confringo: 10/10 - a party of flavors in your mouth Bourbon Renewal: 10/10 - The bartender said it could be a hair on the sweeter side which I don't like so he nulled the sweetness and it came out PERFECT. They really outdid themselves with the atmosphere. The bartenders were all extremely kind and did not have an ounce of douchebaggery that typically comes with a really talented barista. We live in Manor and don't typically like coming out to Round Rock area to drink, but this spot is totally worth it for us. Look forward to coming back during a more chill time to really enjoy it.

Yelp
One of the better coffee cocktails I've had in the Austin metro area! Glad there's a place that is open closer to home that makes higher quality elevated craft cocktails. They've got different themes during Halloween and Christmas to be sure to visit then as well!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Excellent craft cocktail bar with a fun vibe in downtown Round Rock. It actually shares a space with the Tavern and is closest to the corner with outside seating. The indoor area is dark and comfy. The bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly and fast.

Elaine V.

Yelp
Great service, awesome atmosphere, and tasty beverages!!! They also do different themed events throughout the year.

Captain C.

Yelp
I like this place; I want to like it more. Maybe they could figure out a better way to serve people than to have us stand in a queue for over half an hour just to order our drinks. I can think of several ways to improve this right off the top of my head. They seem to be smart. I hope they can too! Even just "take a number: now serving #" System) would at least allow us to relax while we wait.
google avatar

Keay A.

Yelp
Whenever we hang out around Downtown Round Rock, Hoot & Annie is our SPOT. The ambiance is cozy but still gives off quality cocktail bar vibes. They are attached to another bar that shares tabs, so going upstairs to the rooftop bar is pretty awesome. It sits right on the corner, the perfect spot to sit and observe that part of the city. They have craft cocktails that are so fun to drink and watch them make! So far I've had the Painkiller, Paloma, Espresso Martini, and Look Hoos Talking. Each one of them 10/10! I never need more than one drink when visiting.
google avatar

Tanya S.

Yelp
Went to H&A by accident on NYE and was pleasantly surprised. It's a great little Speakeasy on the corner next to Round Rock Tavern and it's actually 1 of the 3 total bars! You can open your tab here and use at all 3 bars without having to close out. It is a really cool and cozy spot and I learned they really change up their decorations each month, to a spectacular level! Christmas Story was the theme for December and incredibly well done. Will definitely be going back for their Old Fashioned
google avatar

Delia S.

Yelp
Went to the Harry Potter pop up at Hoot and Annie last night and was blown away by all the details! Take a little time to wander around and take it all in. The pop up only lasts until the end of business Halloween night, but Hoot and Annie will still be around. The drinks are delicious and there is a lot of "magic" and whimsy in their creation. The coupes are frosted using dry ice and water which creates a fog around the bar and a really frosty glass! The smoked old fashioned and RIP Hagrid are a treat for the senses. You can even "basic bitch" your espresso martini with a little pumpkin spice. I will say that I was a little disappointed with the service. I expected a little more interactive and friendliness, but they were more just business. They did loosen up a little over time, but I guess I'm just used to the 'tenders at my local pub.

Yelp
Fabulous quaint drink spot. With great cocktails. Service impeccable. Love this cute little spot.

Yelp
This is a cute little place to get a late night drink. The mixologists have put a lot of thought behind their cocktail menu and they have some really unique drinks to choose from. I got to try "I'm Owl Right" from their soon to launch brand new menu. It was a refreshing mix of passion fruit, rum, agave and cinnamon that took me to Hawaii for a bit. Paper plane, which is one of their signature cocktails was also quite good, although both drinks seemed low on alcohol. The seating inside is limited though so you may have to step outside to find seats that are shared with the neighboring Escobar.

Yelp
I loved this place. I have lived in the Round Rock area for 11 years and for a short 1 year stint in downtown Austin, then Oracle entered the chat, right next to our apartment. So we came back to Round Rock --- and we havent had drinks like this till H & A entered our lives. Delicious. I had the whiskey sour and Paper Plane. I would not order pp again but preference - whiskey sour on the other hand was so good. Next time one of those and a regular old fashioned. My friend ordered 2 drinks in tiki cups, some kind of punch... too sweet for my taste but one of them had what felt like frozen raspberries? Our bartender was super busy but never acted bothered by our questions about the menu or opinions. He made drinks fast and delicious. ambiance was cool. laid back. small. cozy. 2 sofas in the back, a few velvet chairs at the bar. harry potter vibes with the chandeliers and lamps. Loved it. def. coming back... someday. Hard to do with young kids but this is on the list for my next ladies night out.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for our first drink on our date night in round rock. I had heard about Hoot & Annie first while on Instagram a week prior. I love cocktail bars and it seemed to have a nice vibe to it. Upon arrival the place was packed for an early Saturday evening. I ordered the painkiller and my husband got a Smokey old fashion. Both drinks were strong, delicious, and not that expensive for fancy cocktails. Two drinks was about $20. Overall I would recommend grabbing a drink or two if you are in round rock.

Yelp
This has been on my list for some time now but we just hadn't made it over. We tend to usual go more towards downtown for our nights out - to my boyfriends dismay haha. So when he suggested a date night a few weeks back (sorry I'm behind on posts okay..) I thought I would throw him a bone and pick somewhere closer. When I checked the hoot and annie instagram and saw that they were doing a special harry potter theme the decision was made. We made a reservation and I'm glad we did! It was quite packed for the theme - it sounds like most often its much calmer and laid back. The decorations were spot on and you could tell a lot of thought went into bringing the whole experience together. The special drinks were all phenomenal and not overly exotic, despite the dramatic presentation of each one. We each had 2 drinks (but of course we sampled one another's ), we tried all 3 of the harry potter themed drinks as well as one of their signatures - the know it owl. This is generally an alchemy bar so whilst the menu covers most of the classics as well as a few signature spins on some of the OGs, they can make you just about anything you can think up, and then some! Drink 1: R.I.P. Hagrid - $11.92 (bourbon, averna, blood orange syrup, black walnut bitters, 'dragon' smoke & 'dragon' ball lyche) photos attached This drink was delivered to the table in a huge smoking box which both added to the amazing depth of flavor and the presentations/experience! While neither of us typically seek out bourbon drinks, we were pleasantly surprised with how smooth and well balanced this drink was. The blood orange syrup did a really nice job at calming the more dominant oaky notes that I typically find in similar drinks, without taking away from the bourbon or being overly sweet. Very well done! Drink 2: Deatheater - $9.48 (Vodka, Rum, watermelon, cucumber, dry vermouth, lemon, St. Germain, 'infused with Voldemort's personal powder') photos attached This drink was served in what i would describe as a spice jar placed inside of a spell book. The presentation was super fun and the drink was unbelievable sparkly, however it wasn't too much edible glitter to where the drink becomes slurried or syrupy as I have seen can happen). Despite the dark color and namesake, this drink was super light and refreshing. The flavors were sweet and bright but not too much so! I don't love St. Germain but in this drink it really melded nicely with the other flavors to bring everything together! I would definitely have this drink again! Drink 3: The Weasley Bros. Love Potion - $11.92 (Lavender, violet, cassis, lime juice, vodka, rimmed with 'seduction bombs') not pictured This drink was super fun and very sweet. The glass was rimmed with pop rocks to add to the experience. I don't like lavender but my boyfriend loved this drink, hence why theres no photo... he wouldn't put it down! Drink 4: The Know It Owl -$14.00 (Hornitos reposado, green chartreuse, St. Germain, lime, agave, cayenne) not pictured This drink was good, it had a nice earthy flavor to it and was a great finish to the night after all of the sweet drinks. I requested a spicy mezcal drink and this could have been a little spicier in my opinion but thats a personal preference. After we finished our drinks we went out to the patio area where they had a really good food truck! We tried the smash burger and the nuggets and they were phenomenal! Overall we had a really great night and look forward to going back!

Yelp
LOVE this super secret squirrel spot! A friend mentioned it to us a couple of years ago and we're always hesitatant to share the info (bad, bad fans, I know) because the place itself is pretty small and we love sidling up to the bar and getting amazing Paper Planes, French 75s, Old Fashioneds and Penicillins when it's tough to get great cocktails in many of the burbs around Austin. This place serves it up and extremely well! The key is to either book it on Open Table or come early enough before the crowds wander in. If you love true craft cocktails, you won't be sorry you made the stop.

Kristyn J.

Yelp
I love this place but was recently disappointed with the level of customer service. The business had a photographer photographing drinks while I was there and I was asked to move so he could use my seat to take one of those photos. I thought sure, I'll move, this should be quick. But he took like 10 minutes. I just felt really uncomfortable like the customer wasn't the first priority. Pretty rude. Drinks were great otherwise. I would have ordered another round if I wasn't made to feel like I was in the way. They could have at least given me the drink they were photographing as a thank you lol
google avatar

Askia L.

Yelp
This was my third time coming here and each time has been great. I love the expresso martini but the Owl Always Love You is my favorite drink. It has the smoky flavor with the mezcal but sweetness with raspberry. The service is great and the vibe is chill. The music us usually R&B and lot extremely loud.
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
I follow this place on Instagram and for the month of October they transformed their decor into Harry Potter theme and I was lucky enough to stop by before it changed. Personally I'd prefer it the Harry Potter style year round! Such a treat! So my review is based off of that experience as I've not ever been to it before that and see it in its natural form. Overall very cozy inside, not a lot of seating. Bar has a lot of great options and variety of low and high end liquors which is always really nice if your a connoisseur of whiskeys, bourbons, or tequilas. To use the bathroom you have to go out the back door to the left into the neighboring round rock tavern. Not too big of a deal but not the greatest convenience either. Overall I'd come back to check them out, it's usually a very popular stop in on weekend nights downtown, always looks packed!

Veronica P.

Yelp
Keegan!!! We went to the bar for the first time and was warmly greeted by Keegan. He took his time explaining the menu. The cocktails were amazing! The time and energy and patience he gave us made the wonderful drinks even more amazing. We left happy, very content, and looking forward to our next experience here at Hoot and Annie. The space had great ambience, excellent music, and a seriously awesome vibe!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This was a really cool find we stumbled upon in downtown Round Rock. The mixologists made us excellent drinks. Everything we had was fantastic. It's a cute spot, but VERY tiny. Biggest issue is how slow they were. It could have used another bartender to help serve. We were sitting at a table and did notice 1 of the 2 bartenders going to a single table to take orders and make their drinks while everyone else had to wait in line. Maybe they were his friends, but it was certainly off putting to our group.
google avatar

Angel B.

Yelp
Love love love the vibes of this place. This place has some of the most delicious and unique cocktails. The service is always nice. It can get pretty packed sometimes due to the bar above it but besides that I adore this place.

Terrance J.

Yelp
I'm a little concerned, my wife loves Harry Potter! We thought we would drop by after dinner for a couple drinks. There is laterally a door guy there with a metal detector wand, and he asked me to empty out my pockets. No thanks, this is a bad sign, I'm not sure what kind of riff-raff goes down in there that needs this level of intrusive behavior, but we are moving on. Never again, not possibly subjecting my wife to danger, I'll spend my $elsewhere.
google avatar

Dev O.

Yelp
Tried it out on a Sunday. Kinda disappointed. We ordered drinks, but we couldn't see them make them, since the bartender was having fun with their friends
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
We went on a Thursday night and it was fairly busy. We got service pretty quickly, the bartenders are fast with getting drinks to people. The cocktail menu had a lot of fun options on it. However, I was disappointed in how the cocktails turned out. We tried a few different ones and they weren't great. I got one of the smoked cocktails and it came in a really cool box that it was smoked in, however, was more for show as the cocktail was not smoky at all. They did have live music on the upper area a big tv with sports on. Definitely, a cute place to check out and have fun with friends.
google avatar

Jarome W.

Yelp
I've been here now a few times now. A unique craft cocktail bar. They have many of the signature drinks that they have elevated to put there spin on it! There is street parking all around the bar. There is also a small taco food trucks on site! Also connected to two other bars. My only two negatives, is that this place is kind of small so likely if you have a party of six or more you may want to call ahead if you want sit. I also think the drinks were small in quantity for the price. I wanted more
google avatar

Tarann S.

Yelp
Visited this spot after seeing it on an IG reel. Very quaint, lowkey bar in downtown Round Rock. The drinks are delicious and the music the bartender (dang I cannot cannot remember his name) played was fantastic. I highly recommend this place. I am going to return with friends!
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
This place is great. It's a very nice cocktail bar that has speakeasy vibes. Service is always good and the drinks are good. Moonlit and Painkiller are my favorites. Music is okay, and it's never that crowded. They do a good job of keeping it less crowded even on busy nights. There is an upstairs and bars all around but if your are looking for some classy drinks and a nice date night vibe. Check this place out.
google avatar

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Such a cute little cocktail bar. It's got such a great atmosphere and ambiance. It's connected to a patio that leads you to a good trailer and 2 other bars/taverns. Only downside is it seems to be pricier than some of the other places in the area
google avatar

Jonathan T.

Yelp
Great spot for cocktails in...Round Rock?! Pretty great drinks that aren't your just the standards. They even had a Harry Potter theme during Halloween. Busy place so there may be a wait for drinks. Will definitely be back.

Jeff J.

Yelp
Visited a couple of weeks ago and had very good service from Keegan and Angel. Cool little bar with good craft drinks.
google avatar

Rafael W.

Yelp
Best place to get an amazing cocktail on the downtown strip. It's nice because the bar will do theme's every now and the , it's a nice surprise.
google avatar

Jaime L.

Yelp
Great service and great bartenders. The beer was very good and the atmosphere was amazing 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Gwyneth W.

Yelp
Went a few days ago and had an amazing time. My bartender Holliday was so knowledgeable and made the perfect cocktail for me after hearing my usual favorites. He was very talkative and kind, I've been looking for a usual bar and he sold me on hoot & annies. That and the beautiful interior design!!

Lisa P.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is absolutely fantastic! The staff members are so wonderful, and the drinks they serve are truly top-notch.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
This is a very cool establishment. It's very small so you order your drinks at the bar. The service is as quick as they can be with the limited bar area. There also is a food truck around back. I ordered a classic old fashioned that's smokey. It was spot on. I didn't get around to trying any other but if you can make a good old fashioned, your other drinks are probably good.
google avatar

Jonathon L.

Yelp
Being in the craft cocktail industry and bar for many years . 1. A smoked old fashion is not 18 plus dollars 2. The bartender forgot About the drink in the smoking machine and tasted like absolute lighter fluid still had to pay for it and drink it because he paid us no mind with barely any people in the building . Just not a place I would recommend unless they were having an off night. I would never pay 18-20 for that ever especially if it was hard enough to choke down
google avatar

Billy K.

Yelp
Pros: One of the few places in Austin that doesn't have bloody TVs blaring nonsense sports all the time, nor insanely loud and annoying music (usually) so you can have a decent conversation with the people you are with. Good ambience, interesting and tasty drinks. Cons: Its part of the Round Rock tavern which has bloody TVs blaring nonsense sports all of the time, and plays insanely loud and annoying music (usually). It's directly underneath their upstairs patio, so people jumping or stomping with heels on becomes a distraction. People who are not dressed to impress wander in and it distracts from the experience. Its small so if loud people are in there, everyone can hear them and nothing else. Drinks are also really expensive. I wish there was better sound insulation, better gatekeeping of who comes in, and the drinks were 30% less. Still a great experience for a first date if you come on a non busy night for Round Rock Tavern , if you can afford it.
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
This place is cute! The bartenders were really nice and attentive. I only came here for drinks and didn't get any pictures but it was good.
google avatar

Travis B.

Yelp
This bar is so freakin cute and the drinks are so delicious, but all of that is hard to enjoy when the service is so freakin slow. It's 100% managements fault for having a single bartender behind the bar on a Friday afternoon during happy hour. This guy can only serve so many people at one time. The line keeps growing and people seem very irritated. I would only recommend going here if they have two bartenders on staff the night you come in. Otherwise you will be waiting about 15-20 minutes in line for a single cocktail.
