"Egg tarts — little tarts with a pie crust or flaky pastry base filled with a delicate egg custard — are a Hong Kong staple, and Hoover makes one of the best. Despite the shop being in a run‐down neighborhood, don’t be surprised to see white‐gloved chauffeurs pulling up to pile boxes into fancy cars. [$]" - Janice Leung Hayes

Old traditional bakery shop of hong Kong, well known for its no 1 popular egg tart, with other choices of cakes and breads. Was rumoured to be a bakery shop whereby the egg tart so yummy that celebrity Chow Yun Fatt would drop by here very often to grab a piece or two himself. Egg tart comes with two style, one as normal and the other with burning skin at the top layer. Skin texture is smooth and tasteful, the fillings comes with a rich taste, something that taste and smell just out of the other typical egg tart you get every now and then. It's hard to describe how it taste, but best for you to try it yourself, definitely 0 regrets. You can opt for the famous Hong Kong polo bun here too, they have the plain ones, with sour jam, peanut jam etc. Many variety which you could pick up to your preference.

We tried there famous egg tart, the shell has quite a lot of layers and very crispy, but it’s a bit too oily for us.

I've been on the hunt to find the best egg tarts in Hong Kong, and while I wouldn't call myself an connoisseur, these are definitely the ones at the top of my list.

I decided to visit this small local bakery after the strong recommendation from my colleague who grew up in this town. It was first time trying HK style egg tart, and I absolutely loved it! Crispy tart lasted till the next day in the fridge. I don't mind walking half an hour to get to this place :)

I was still hungry so got a Flower roll from this place. The woman was quite annoyed because I didn't buy more. The Flower roll is made with bits of pandan cake, chocolate cake, cream and walnuts which are obviously cake scraps and leftover cake bits when they make the cakes. Overall not my cup tea but a popular pick for people in Kowloon City.

Shop is run by this nice old lady. If you're unsure how to tell her what you want, just take a photo of it and show it to her. Goods here are all freshly made and amazing. I recommend the egg tarts and her cookies! ((:

Best egg tart I have eaten in Hong Kong. Flaky crust and rich firm center. No queue, and the lady was really friendly and helpful even though we couldn't speak cantonese.
