A New Delivery-Only Hot Chicken Spot Debuts In Plano | Eater Dallas

"A Grapevine brewery that rolled out a promotion offering $1 pints to anyone who can prove they work for GameStop, intended as a small gesture to recognize and relieve stress for employees caught in the recent stock-market controversy. Co-founder Jon Powell framed the offer as a way to acknowledge the real company and its efforts to reinvent its business model amid the public drama." - Brittanie Shey

Great atmosphere with good beer. I am generally a fan of hazy IPAs, but their version is slightly too hoppy for me. I did see a wheat beer on the menu. I should’ve tried it. Maybe next time.

Thank you Hop and Sting Brewing Company for hosting The DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue Club. What a fun event, and a fabulous day! Thank you to all of the volunteers at the DFW Lab Rescue as well, you all are doing an amazing job! This event was fun for the fur babies, their parents, and those hoping to either foster or adopt. Love the pizza food truck as well! Great brewery, great beers, service was excellent. Thank you for a fun filled day!

This place is fantastic! In addition to great beer, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and there are good food choices from either food trucks or their in house chef! They also give back to the community and offer fun theme nights and great live music!

Google
This is hands-down one of the best breweries in DFW! Hop & Sting has such a welcoming and laid-back vibe—perfect for relaxing with friends or even meeting new ones. The beer selection is top-tier; everything I tried was crisp, creative, and super fresh. I especially loved their IPAs and seasonal releases. There’s always something going on—live music, trivia nights, or food trucks that actually serve amazing food (not just the usual bar fare). The staff is super friendly and really knows their beer. You can tell they care about both the craft and the community. Also, the outdoor area is huge and dog-friendly, which is a big win for me. Whether you’re a craft beer nerd or just want a chill spot to hang out, Hop & Sting nails it. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

Spending a couple of weeks in the Dallas area and decided to swing by Hop & Sting. Excellent variety and great beers. The bartenders are extremely attentive and helpful, their outdoor area is comfy and cool with either tree cover or umbrellas. The food truck the day I went was Pasión BBQ and was amazing. So glad we went!

We rode our bicycles here from The Gaylord Texan Resort. It’s a short ride even with beach cruiser bikes, but it was hot. This brewery was a nice refuge of shade, cool air, friendly people, and of course, refreshing beer. They have a nice courtyard and indoor seating. The beer selection was top notch. I don’t normally go for wheat beer, but the heat demanded hydration. I tried the blood orange first and then the regular wheat. Both were amazingly tasty and easy to drink. After hydrating we checked out the food truck. Everyone around us were enjoying delicious looking food and the smell of smoked meat filled the air. I tried the beef brisket and my wife had a smoked Turkey sandwich. Both were phenomenal, as was the apple Gorgonzola slaw! I not only love this place, it is also worth a trip to try their beer. The little downtown of Grapevine is full of cool boutique style stores and wineries as well. Make an afternoon of it!

Google
Great (and maybe the only?) Brewey in Grapevine! So if you don't drink wine, don't despair! This place is great with indoor and outdoor seating, and the beer is yummy!!

Google
The Christmas Cookie Ale was amazing!! Great balance of sugar cookie flavor but not overly sweet, could easily do a couple pints! Also enjoyed the Wicked Stout, Hefeweizen and Octoberfest were good too.

Yelp
Hop and Sting Brewing Company is a local gem in Grapevine! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff is always friendly, and the beer selection is top-notch. I especially loved their seasonal Oktoberfest--perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to unwind, this place delivers every time.

Yelp
Hop&Sting - A Mixed Bag of Brews. I visited Hop&Sting on a Saturday evening, eager to unleash my inner hop-head. With six IPAs on tap, I decided to go with a "beertender's choice," hoping for some guided exploration. All the IPAs I tried were distinct and quite good. My personal favorite was a pint of their "She's Intense"--higher ABV, yet surprisingly smooth with no bitter "Sting" on the back end (pun intended!). Now, y'all know I love dogs, and this is a dog-friendly spot, which is a huge plus! The beertenders were friendly, but I found them to be less informative than I'd hoped. There was a missed opportunity here; they didn't ask any questions to help me narrow down my choice among the many IPAs. It felt like a slight misstep in terms of customer engagement and sales. The atmosphere was a bit of a contrast. The indoor space felt small, while the outdoor area was quite large but lacked aesthetic appeal. Beyond a hand-painted logo, it was mostly just picnic tables and umbrellas, giving off a rather plain vibe. The music was also hard to hear, barely audible through a single speaker tucked in a corner. This place actually won Dallas's Best Brewery for 2021, 2022, and 2023, which honestly makes me want to really "beat this place up" on the setting. There are so many ways they could improve the actual ambiance, but the beer truly speaks volumes. Despite my criticisms of the setting, the beer is great, and ultimately, taste wins out. I wanted to give them 5 stars of beer but couldn't because the online menu wasn't working and the aesthetics are so bland. The building is colorful and all but let a local artist have fun with your walls.

Yelp
We held our Fabulous Fillies alumni luncheon at Hop and Sting brewing and it more than met our fabulousness expectations. Great place for gatherings! We ate from the delicious Passion Barbq food truck, and drank the tasty craft beers. Service was more fabulousness. Friendly and fun! The entire environment was friendly, clean, relaxed, and comfortable. We ate and drank outside at picnic tables with umbrellas. We also had part of the inside reserved for our signins and and cake....plus they let us set up banners for photos.
google avatar

Nelli T.

Yelp
Great staff and beer selections! Their entire space is kid and dog friendly, they have a spacious patio with big fans. Excited to go back for their new Oktoberfest beers.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing and delicious local brewery! Great deals on delicious beer so good! I had a hazy ipa and it was yummerz ! My absolute fav is a good IPA! And the vendor was La passion bbq and they had some amazing birria tacos! So good!! I wish I could've eaten more! I will be back! They also sell burgers with fries until they sell out. The beer just hits the spot , glad they allow vendors because a beer with bbq is a great combo. Service was excellent! And the location was great! Lots of places to sit ! Also family friendly lol
google avatar

Shelley F.

Yelp
Beer isn't my drink of choice, but I surprisingly enjoyed the selection they had to offer here! There is a food truck (Vaqueros TX BBQ) that serves Mexican/Texas BBQ fusion. I personally thought the birria tacos were just okay, but I think they're a separate business from Hop and Sting. I sat outside. The patio is filled with dirt/gravel, so I would be cautious about the shoes/clothes you wear in case they get dirty.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Great beer! Friendly service! Place has a nice patio and a small upstairs. Food trucks too, but we didn't try them yet.
google avatar

Miriam S.

Yelp
Beautiful and spacious brewery. My friend took me here because there's a wonderful bbq food truck outside the brewery where you can order and bring inside while you sip on your beer. They had plenty of options but we went with a light beer to pair with the bbq food. Plenty of seats outdoor, indoors and on the second floor.
google avatar

Yelp
Great, relaxed place to hang out, try some different beers, and catch up with friends. I've only been once and only tried two different beers (both IPAs) and thought both were solid. The staff was very friendly. There is a nearby food truck and you can bring in your tacos or BBQ, but I also saw folks bringing in some pizzas (not sure where from). One of the IPAs that I had (I think it was called the Northeast Texas) was very good and I'd recommend it highly.

Rick R.

Yelp
Great spot hidden in Grapevine. I live in CA and make it a point to stop whenever I travel to Dallas for business. Solid beers and super nice staff.
google avatar

Tammie G.

Yelp
This is a great place to grab great beer and enjoy the outside patio- if the weather is nice, and the food trucks that often come, there's lots of seating inside as well as upstairs you can actually view the brewing process from the inside dining area as well. Parking is somewhat limited so you may need to park down at the end of the street at the rec center parking lot If you can find a time when the barbecue truck is there that's a must because it is absolutely delicious By the way, it's also dog friendly

Yelp
Found this place by accident in GRAPEVINE. The place is nice and cozy. The staff is awesome, very nice, and inviting. The male bartender took the time to talk to me about the stouts and let me taste their cayane pepper stout, which was ok, but I settled for the under world stout they had, which had a nice flavorful expresso taste. I've had the underworld at another place, and the head was nonexistent here it was nice and thick and smell fantastic. This is a nice chill place.that I would come.back to and bring friend.

Yelp
I see some of the reviews are five years old which makes me wonder how I have never been here before?! Was a great afternoon, although a bit windy, and sitting out on their outdoor patio was great! Tried the Monarch and Aluminum Cowboy, both lagers and both decent beers. From the Vaqueros BBQ food truck, tried the nachos and pitmaster sandwich. Splitting both between two people was more than enough. The nachos alone would have been plenty! Service was as expected; no complaints! Will definitely return!

Yelp
I always love going to this Brewery whenever I am in Grapevine! I love the new beers they have and all the selection! Ambiance was pretty cool, we sat inside facing all the glass and the giant metal things with all that love in it We ordered the wheat beer which was awsome, and the Stout coffee flavor it was amazing! Service was great as always, walk up order take your drink and sit down and enjoy

Yelp
I made a pitstop at Hop & Sting on a recent business trip and had to check out the local brews. Loved this place. Relaxed, family oriented Brewery. Loved their brews. Staff were friendly and super helpful.

Yelp
Cool place with delicious selections. Food truck onsite. Nice beer garden. Friendly staff.

Yelp
Amazing brewery in the heart of Grapevine! Check them out! Beautiful shaded patios x also indoor area. The real deal though is Vaqueros BBQ and Tacos food truck! Serving absolutely amazing nachos, barbecue and elote ie corn!! don't sleep get there and have some amazing bbq and brews!
google avatar

Yelp
really good beer selection and they have cans available too. Service was great. Loved the outdoor area and indoors was nicely air conditioned. Def would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
This is an awesome place to spend a Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the beer garden and live music. The music included great songs from many different decades and almost anyone could hear something familiar to them. My husband and I enjoyed the Weisser Time beer which is a light bodied Hefeweizen. It paired well with the stellar bbq from Vaqueros Texas BBQ food truck that was parked outside of the beer garden. Regarding the bbq, avoid the brisket and go for some of the more specialty bites such as the al pastor style pork belly burnt ends that were served on corn tortillas with a small amount of chopped red onion and cilantro (SUPERB COMBINATION); the birria tacos (award winning); and the El Patron Burrito. The Texas Pastrami taco was not available the day we visited; but I would go back for those. There is seating inside and outside with amazing views inside of the brewing tanks and equipment. The business is pet friendly. The staff is very engaged with the customers and even sing along with the music....for example. The musician was playing "Wanted: Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi; and on the part where Richie Sambora sings out "WANTEEEEEEDDDD;" the staff behind the bar joined in and had everyone laughing and singing along. SO MUCH FUN! I would definitely return!
google avatar

Alison T.

Yelp
Awesome brewery with a delicious BBQ food truck right outside. We tried the Miracle blood orange wheat and the Weisser time Hefeweizen. And for BBQ we were blown away by the brisket Mac and cheese bowl and the Birria tacos - so so good! They also had some live music - perfect combo for a Friday night. Only request is to get some board games for people to play (we didn't see any there).
google avatar

Kari M.

Yelp
Great location, with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs welcomed outdoors. Award winning beers. Have had a handful of different ones and all are excellent. By chance, today they were doing a fund raiser for Pug Rescue DFW but they also had a box at the entrance accepting items for a food pantry, showing their support to the community.

Danielle G.

Yelp
Beer isn't my thing but the environment is fun, and lively. I had a beer lemonade combination that was actually nicer than I expected. Everyone else in my party was happy with the selections and the flavors. The prices were fair and the staff was friendly enough. They have live music and I was impressed by the talent when we went. It's dog friendly which is also a bonus!
google avatar

Jerry K.

Yelp
Awesome brewery with so many great craft beers and the nicest people in the DFW Metroplex. Highly recommended. They don't serve food, but there's usually the Vaqueros food truck parked outside with awesome barbecue and Tex-Mex food. There are plenty of tables inside downstairs and upstairs and a nice beer garden outside with picnic benches and cover as well as heaters for the winter to enjoy your beer and food.
google avatar

Molly S.

Yelp
Great beer and atmosphere! The inside has a lot of space (and heaters) with large tables for big groups and smaller tables for others. They also have TVs for sports games and board games. The beer itself was really good, my partner and I really liked the royal blood lager. They offer flights and stand-alone beers, with varying types from IPA, to sour beers and lagers. They have a huge outside sitting area. Some is covered and has heat lamps, but most opted for inside during the fall. There are a few food trucks and a nearby pizza place that you can bring the food in to eat with the beer, they don't really offer their own food. Also dogs are welcome!
google avatar

Doreen K.

Yelp
Friendly staff, we were able to taste before receding our pint of beer. It was a beautiful Day and we were able to sit in the sun and e joy a few pints.
google avatar

Keith K.

Yelp
Great experience on our first visit to Hop &Sting! Thoroughly enjoyed my Aluminum Cowboy! Plenty of options, plenty of seating! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Taylor E.

Yelp
Stopped on my way to the airport. Atmosphere was awesome!! They had a Great Pyrenees foster/adopt event going on. Lots of people and the weather was great. Lots of outdoor seating, even though it was packed. Inside was tiny seating but still worked. Beer was awesome and cheap on pricing I thought.
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
We love Hop and Sting. Service is always great, beer is amazing, love when they have live music, and Vaqueros BBQ is to die for. It's a great local spot and they do so much for different charities. It's one of our favorite places in Grapevine.
google avatar

Maria K.

Yelp
Great brewery with good beer and plenty of inside and outside seating. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Food trucks as food option.
google avatar

Jericho T.

Yelp
Incredible service and atmosphere. Bekah especially took great care of us. Will be back soon!
google avatar

Roberto G.

Yelp
Great little brewery. Came out here to chill with some friends seeing as how I have never been here. I drive up and turns out I had been here before. I came when it was the grapevine brewery and I think I like the craft beer selection at this new place better. Still the same layout and the same building but with better beers. Winning.
google avatar

LaTondra L.

Yelp
Went to support their monthly BINGO fundraiser. Only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because I was a little upset they don't offer ciders here. But the employees are very knowledgeable and were able to offer close alternatives to cider that I might enjoy. They even provided samples before I made a decision. For that reason alone I would go back. They have various events throughout the weekly and a rotation of food trucks. If your in grapevine, definitely worth stopping by!

Kenley M.

Yelp
Love this place. I've been going for years now and nothing has changed, always great service, food, and of course BEER Check out some of their awesome charity events and join the pint club!
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Their Red Velvet Cream Ale was amazing. Had some good live music playing indoors on the drizzly Saturday afternoon. Fun place and crowd, young and old. Nice patio area worth trying if the weather is nice. Since they had some amazing barbecue on location, it was easy to round this brewery up from 4.5 stars to 5.
google avatar

Joshua H.

Yelp
Way cool spot for indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy craft beer thats truly unique and delicious. I got to meet the co owner Brian and he is way cool. What a story he has to tell, wow! You gotta meet this guy for sure. The beer is legit also and I am not a beer guy at all. My flight of 5 had two clear winners, Funkadelicious mixed fruit sour ale and the limited time seasonal Xmas Cookie English Ale. The latter is pure holiday beer in a glass with cinnamon, pumpkin pie, and apple pie spices all in one. Get this while its there! Very cool place to grab some unique beer and chill out in Grapevine Texas with family and friends. I will be back here with local friends often since we come to Fort Worth often.
google avatar

Iris S.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for an event last night that was hosted by a local group. I really enjoyed how much space they had available for our event without it taking over their venue. They have a nice outdoor space, and tons of indoor space with all their brewing equipment right there for viewing as you drink your craft beer. I chose to drink the Texas Sunset Shandy and it was excellent. My husband had the Fire Engine Red Ale, which he liked but it wasn't his absolute favorite. The staff was also very friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have. The biggest downside is the parking lot was small- on a Thursday night it was packed. I am trying to imagine it on a packed weekend. However, there is some type of community center down the block that has a lot of extra parking. We parked there... not sure you're "allowed" to, but we didn't have an issue. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back. It was a cool place and the beer was good!
google avatar

Elisa M.

Yelp
I love finding hidden gems and this is definitely one of those places. This is a cute little venue tucked off the Main Street, in the heart of Grapevine. They have an open air patio (that is pet friendly) and there are musicians playing live music. Every brewery offers a little something different and this place didn't disappoint. One thing I love is being able to have a little bit of this and that and by having a flight you can get exactly that. There have selected flights or you can choose your own. So when I drink beer, I'm a Dos Equis drinker, so with that the bartender made a few suggestions. I loved everything I had (some more than others) however my personal favorite was the Miracle. Found out that they do trivia on Sundays from 1-3 (so I'll be back for that) and they have food trucks available so you can get some good grub as well.
google avatar

Josh E.

Yelp
Fun Brewery in Grapevine! Had a blast & the beer is tasty!! I will visit again the next time I'm in town, and definitely suggest as a must try!
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
Ok vibe. No non alcoholic beer. No Topo Chico. No club soda. Just bottled soda, tea and water cups for those that don't partake in alcohol. The bartenders... not exactly helpful or friendly. Meh. The best part about this place is Vaquero's in the parking lot. TBH, next time we go to Vaquero's.. we will just get it to go home.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
If you find yourself in grapevine, you have to come here. Beers are stellar, the staff is beyond friendly and lovely, and the outdoor patio is a dream for fall Dallas days and evenings. You won't be disappointed

Chanel J.

Yelp
Love, love, love this brewery! It's a sweet gem to have right in Grapevine. The variety of beers is always great, they often host fun events, and the also partner with a great food truck so you can have a great meal with a great drink.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Really cool micro-brewery in Grapevine. Nice selection of well executed beer styles. Patio has beer garden feel with plenty of seating. It was a little warm for me to sit outside so fortunately, they have air conditioning and ample seating inside also. Another plus is the TexLine train station has a stop about a block away making this an easy place to get to from DFW airport. Ps. They now have bar seating.
google avatar

Mikey M.

Yelp
One of the ladies was extremely short & rude, with every interaction she had with my group. Every. Single. One. As if we were bothering her just by being there. I get it though. It must suck to work hours and hours serving guests who only want to enjoy your establishment. Maybe don't be in a service industry? Just a thought - there's plenty of places to work at (I hear your sparkling personality fits great at the DMV). Not really a good business practice to alienate potential future customers. Or keep being you ‍. Maybe there's a market for average beer & terrible service in Dallas. Stay blessed. Tldr: Decent beer. Terrible service. Go at your own risk.
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
My husband and I are brewery people and we love this place. It's the closest brewery to our home so we frequent them. Every time we come in they have a unique beer (1-2x every 2 weeks). They are dog friendly! We love the ambiance and the trivia, bar-backs are always so kind and welcoming.
google avatar

Marti Y.

Yelp
Always amazing! Love the beer, the staff, and always a good time to be had. I haven't had a bad beer yet from there

Adolfo M.

Yelp
Nice selection of beers. Seating inside and out. Lots of shade. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
We just went here on Tuesday night for bingo night. I have never played bingo before so this was my first time with a dobber and we had a great time. They has some great prizes as well which our table benefited from during the night. I tried two different seasonal beers, both of which tasted great. I really liked the Oktoberfest and then I tried an American ale that was in a merlot cask which tasted great. The patio here is very pleasant right now while it is cool enough to sit outside but warm enough that you do not even need a jacket. The food truck that was there serving Tacos and Gumbo had great food. The staff was very friendly and there was never a long line to get another beer. We had a great evening and suspect that we will be back for more great beer and good times.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
This is my favorite local brewery!! Really good beer and vibe. They have fun events like pet adoptions, crawfish boils, trivia, live music, ect. The outdoor patio is awesome when the weather is good. The staff is awesome and friendly. A great local Grapevine gem.

Yelp
I'm starting off this review by saying that I live in the heart of California Beer Country in Sacramento! Our breweries out here are fantastic (and on every corner it seems! I'll be honest, the beer was ok. I think I'm spoiled and it was a bit different than what I'm used to, but still good! I ordered a flight and tried a few. The Hef was great, but those always are to me! The dang RED VELVET though - WOW! Not only does it smell good, it legitimately tastes like red velvet cake! Also, the gentleman pouring that day was really kind. We were a little indecisive and he gave us some good suggestions. I like that they have a little upstairs area - we came with family which included a 1-year-old and it was a good spot to be a bit private for us! We took a sticker home and popped it on the Artic. When we visit TX again I know we'll come back!
