BottleRock Beyond Wine: The 10 Best Bites and Sips at This Year’s Festival | Eater SF

"I found the Citrus Mistress IPA ($12) from this Oregon brewery to be a perfect summer festival beer: bright and refreshing yet definitely buzz-providing, and each 16 oz. can came with a free koozie — it’s nearly impossible to find this beer in California, which felt like a shame." - Eater

I came here on a Saturday around 3pm and it was nice. There wasn’t very many people, maybe like four or five tables. So we got seated immediately. The servers were very nice and the drinks and food came out pretty fast. The place was clean, the food was good, and the drinks were nice. Only “problem” I had was the blacken salmon wasn’t blackened at all it was just plain fish. All in all can’t complain👍🏼

Google
Good tasting burger and full body beer, this (not so little) place felt like walking into a pub where I'm one of the regulars. At a convenient highway intersection, easy to get in and out. Oh, and one of the friendliest barmen I've met, served me and was so polite, I felt welcome.

Phil S.

Google
Great way to chill and have a great happy hour Friday afternoon. Burger without a name is a fantastic burger if you like some heat in every bite. Those onion rings are not an optical illusion, they are really that huge and the best I remember having in a long time. Looking forward to another visit next time I'm in town

John K.

Google
Walked in for lunch and a beer. Not very busy. However, after sitting for fifteen minutes without anybody, even bringing us water, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. Not sure what happened, but did not feel like our business was appreciated. Would not recommend to friends, family or colleagues.

Google
Hop Valley is a good spot to unwind. The food and drinks are good but could use a little finesse. The Nachos were ok and the spicy margarita was interesting. I wish they used fresh jalapeños and gave you sides of sour cream and hot sauces. Usually a good spot off I-5 to eat but they've made it a little difficult to reach. I'll definitely be back!

Google
Great food, great beer, and friendly people. Loved the Henry and the Blonde! Highly recommend.

Google
Our lunch was AMAZING. The fries were perfectly crispy, the mozzarella sticks were oozing with cheese, yet not very greasy. Their house made root beer was great. And Matt our waiter was fast to refill our drinks and took very good care of us. Look forward to coming back. ☺️

Google
Good menu looked great, very appealing for the type of establishment. Come ready to load up with water and check your blood pressure after. A bit hard to enjoy the food, sweet potato fries especially with the heavy amount of salt. Otherwise, chillbstaff, chill environment. Id stop by again
google avatar

Yelp
We were staying next door and walked over for a bite and drink. When we walked in we noticed the environment isn't too inviting, very dark and cold. We normly sit at the bar anyways so we had a seat in their handful of bar tables. The service was very good, the bartender was attentive, recommended beers and brought over tasters. We ordered mozzarella sticks off the happy hour menu and a couple of burgers, one with garlic fries and one with sweet potato waffle fries. The mozzarella sticks were $9 and while large, there were only 3 of them so pretty expensive for the portion. They were good but not worth the money. The burgers and fries were all solid, both fries were crispy and tasty. Overall it wasn't a bad visit, but the environment just isn't comfortable or inviting. It wouldn't be my first choice in the area

Yelp
Best beer cheese soup in town! The candied bacon was subtle since it was blended in the soup and absolutely perfect! 5++ stars!!! Pastrami Reuben Sando - one of the best we've had. Would had liked a little more sauerkraut and more even distribution of meat in the sandwich (it was piled up in the middle), but the beer braise was a nice touch on the Pastrami and everything else about it was fantastic! 5 stars! Housemade root beer - very carbonated and nice sweetness. Reminiscent of old fashioned root beer. Excellent! 5 stars! Top notch friendly service and very kiddo friendly. Careful of long wait times on weekend. This place deserves a much higher rating... excited to try their other options!!!

Yelp
Generally this place is pretty good. Yesterday we stopped in for a late lunch. I had the frickles and then the fish n chips (a lot of fried food right). Normally no problem but half way through my entree I couldn't taste the fish anymore but all I could taste was an old used oil taste that lasted in my mouth the rest of the day... I actually turned sick later in the evening and had nothing else to eat for the day before or after that. The beer was good as always and my fiancés burger was good but something was not good with the fried food. Just had that over used old oil taste...Do you know what I'm talking about. Anyway moving on. The service was also good. Just need to change that oil out.

Yelp
Five star onion rings! The best ever! Perfect balance of bread to onion ratio, amount of crisp to squish, and just the right seasoning. We had some sandwiches and a big salad too. They were typical brewery fair but those onion rings were memorable!

Yelp
A group of 10 car folk from Southern CA on their way to Victoria BC had dinner at Hop Valley 7/15/25. John did an outstanding job as our server and the food was amazing! The group tasted a lot of primo beer and delicious food! Thanks John for taking such good care of our group!

Yelp
Ah, Hop Valley. Beer that tastes like the nectar of the gods made with hops that glisten with gold. Their beer cheese soup is always a must and required appetizer. This location has some limited seating in comparison to the other location but has a quick turn around on food and attentive staff. Do to being located so close to serval hotels there is great convenience for a good beer and food when traveling. Wife and I come here often and have yet to have any issues. Food is good but is just food for sure nothing mind blowing but also have never had a bad meal.
google avatar

Yelp
I went by Hop Valley last night since I'm traveling for work and was staying in the nearby Courtyard Marriott. I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here! My Chicken Cobb Salad was huge and just what I was craving. My server was lovely and she was super on it the entire time I was there. It is slight dark in there, to be expected by a place that specializes in draft beer, but the ambiance was lively with locals. I would definitely return!

Nicole R.

Yelp
We opted for cocktails instead of beers and they were super delicious! The staff was super kind and attentive. Got our meal in decent time. The only things we didn't like were the garlic on the garlic ties tasted artificial almost. Kinda icky, but the fries themselves were good. Next time I will get them without the flavor. And the fish on my salmon salad was very dry. Seemed frozen and a bit fishy. Other than that, everything was great. The frickles were to DIE for. Would order those 1000 times over. Great service too!

Yelp
Super busy valentines night. Attentive pleasant Server name starting with J. Good quality food and excellent flavor for the French dip sandwich - one of the best I have had in recent memory. Chicken strips lacked favor. Fries good. Perfect stop for a solid meal convenient to local hotels.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Mid, food was ok. Michaela the waitress, was lovely. We came at closing time, staff let us eat.

Sheri G.

Yelp
OK, service great, food good, pumpkin cheesecake is truly the most divine I have ever eaten. Don't share it .

Yelp
We stopped to get lunch. It was an amazing . Atmosphere was great service was friendly and on top of drinks. Food was great . We got the wings. We loved the teriyaki over the buffalo. Beer cheese soup was yummy. We will be coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly service, great food, quick on and off freeway for travelers. The only disappointment was that we had viewed the menu online and had some ideas of what we wanted to order when we arrived. The in-person menu is much smaller than what they advertise online and some of the things we wanted to try were not avail. The online menu should be updated.
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
I like beer I'm sure you do to. Try this place and get a great sandwich to the staff was friendly the beer was ice cold and the service was topnotch. The place was clean and relaxed.
google avatar

Kristie O.

Yelp
Super good dinner & awesome beer. We had a Horse Creek pale ale & pineapple stash house. Both were so good we had a second. We had a Cobb salad & a French dip. Everyone was perfect. Sarah was a great server.
google avatar

Stan G.

Yelp
The service was excellent. I think our waitress was Ashley. I had the French dip. It looked nothing like the pictures. Little, if any cheese and the meat was over cooked and not much of it. Had 3 bites then left the rest. Wife had the Reuben which was pretty good.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
Service was good! Was seated right away and the server always had a smile on her face. She was very attentive too. Collectively, my party ordered three different burgers. All came out great. Can't vouch for the beer cause we didn't try any. Ambiance was nice. Dim lit and cozy. Sleek. Only negative was prices were a bit much ($16 for a burger? $20 salad?). But I suppose that's just par for the course now... Would return!

Yelp
We were in town to visit family and walked over to Hop Valley from our hotel for dinner. Michaela gave us such amazing service, and the food was so delicious, that we ended up coming back for a second dinner with my sister's family! A great place to have a good dinner, good beer, and a good time. Michaela was our server again (lucky us!) and was so attentive and helpful. I'm not a big beer drinker but she helped me try a couple samples and find something that suited me (Citrus Mistress, and Stash Panda, both excellent). Burger with pineapple was GOOD, and homemade potato chips. My husband raved about the chicken wings, which are brined, smoked, then fried. We tried Buffalo the first night and BBQ the next, both good (but if you like spicy, go for those buffalo wings!) Portions were generous, and kids food was good too. My son said it was one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches he's had. There are a couple of TV's in the dining room, but the volume of the music etc was great, not too loud, so we could chat as a family. Just wanted to give the team a shout out, both front of house and back, and to say thank you again to Michaela-- you made our night! Twice! Thanks so much for your excellent service and recommendations, and making us feel so at home. Cheers!

Yelp
These guys are amazing every time I drive through town I stop here, Kristen at front desk is always bubbly and kind always going the extra mile. Good is great and love the beer options. Good ambiance especially on a hot day
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
After a long day of driving, it is nice to know you can get a good meal nearby. We stayed at La Quinta across the parking lot. phoned in a to go order. order was done quickly and correctly. food was good. was even able to get a beer to go (in a crowler). definitely will be back when traveling through the Eugene area (Springfield). PS. Avoid Outback (made that mistake a week earlier)!
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoyed my lunch visit to Hop Valley. I ordered the four street tacos with chicken and it comes with a side of chips and salsa. It was ample food and most of the entrees are very large. My table also got the loaded fries with BBQ on them. The tacos were very good and I really liked the chicken ones not too spicy. Due to getting the loaded fries which were also amazing I didn't end up eating too many of the chips. Service was prompt and good throughout our lunch.

Yelp
Always good food and good beer, I try to stop in while I'm down working for the week. Conveniently located within walking distance from the hotels. Service is always great and they have the games on.
google avatar

Yelp
I have had two beers that I have really enjoyed from Hop Valley recently. The first one was their Light Me Up Lager. A clean, sweet and hoppy lager. Very drinkable! It's similar to what the big corporate breweries have along the lines of a Coors Light. But the craft beer version of this beer is always better and this excellent, lager easily passes that test with ease. The next beer I enjoyed was their Stash Panda. This is an IPA with heavy emphasis on tropical and grapefruit flavor specifically along with bitterness and hopiness. A very good IPA. I can't say for sure but I believe this is my first beer experience with Hop Valley and I must say I'm impressed!
google avatar

D M.

Yelp
The food is way above par pub food and the service is friendly and prompt. The beer is amazing and they have wine and hard alcohol for those who think differently about their booze (non beer drinkers)
google avatar

Terry E.

Yelp
I was passing through a had a moment of clarity thanks to the Keto diet that I paused yesterday for some a good ol' skool burger.. and didn't do much damage to the diet... I ordered a Black and Blue and washed it down with a decent citrusy-not-so-hoppy beer Great Place
google avatar

Bill R.

Yelp
This is my favorite brewery in Springfield, the beer is fairly basic which I love not being adventurous or a fan of anything different it's perfect for me. There are lots of people here around my age, so none of the weirdos like you get in Eugene if you know what I mean. The food is great I love burgers and fried food just wish they had hot dogs I could eat those every day.
google avatar

Frank Lloyd W.

Yelp
It's not elegant. But I've yet to have a bad meal here. The food is surprisingly good. Black bean burger was great!
google avatar

Vanessa H.

Yelp
My husband ate here several times when he was sent to Eugene for work and thoroughly enjoyed it. He liked their tots (lol) and liked all the beers he did try.

Raechel S.

Yelp
Breaks my heart to write this as I used to come here every time I was in town. Tried to visit during a lunch break today. Within a few steps of entering the restaurant, I slipped on what felt like an oily surface across the tile entrance. No one saw me; I got up, brushed myself off, assumed it was a fluke and kept walking towards the bar... only to almost slip again. Literally the entire tile floor between the entryway, past the host stand and back to the bar feels like a grease trap. A hostess saw me struggling and I mentioned that it felt like something had spilled. Her response was: "management is aware and they're not really doing anything about it." Apparently this has been a known issue for quite some time?? Uhhhh.... really hope a more litigious customer doesn't hurt themself more than I did! I turned around and left without placing an order.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner and a drink after seeing Indiana Jones! The parking lot was FULL but don't let that fool you. There were lots of tables available inside. The waitress was great! She was helpful and enjoyable. Had a great attitude. The Burger Without A Name was unique and delicious. The cream cheese and jalapeño really made it. The french dip was good but almost had too much cheese melted on it. Otherwise the flavor was great and the sauce was perfect. The onion rings were mostly good too but had too much batter. Didn't get a picture of the meatloaf special but it was just as good as everything else. Came with garlic mashed potatoes and corn. All very good. Highly recommend stopping in.

Joe C.

Yelp
Use to have a great menu. Now only an average burger joint/sports bar that also serves beer. The waffle sweet potato fries are still great. Two of our orders had to be changed because the items on the limited menu were not available.

Christi T.

Yelp
Hostess wouldn't even look at me and waitress walked by like I didn't exist. Stood there about five minutes and couldn't even be acknowledged. I took my business elsewhere. What a waste of time. Only four customers there, too.

Phantom 3.

Yelp
My wife and I eat here every year on our anniversary. This year was horrible I hate to say. A big let down. Menu was alot shorter, food was not anywhere as good as normal, over cooked and flavorless. Unfortunately we'll be finding another place from now on, even though the service was still great.
google avatar

Vickie M.

Yelp
We found this place completely by accident during our first week in Eugene. It was pouring out with poor visibility and we were driving a terrible rental car, jet lagged and TIRED. We wanted something easy and reasonably good that we could just pick up and bring home. We saw their sign across the parking lot from Best Buy, checked them out on Yelp, as ya do, and called in an order. Our food was ready in 15 minutes -- delicious shepherd's pie and local IPA. I feel like we really lucked out, and we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and great staff. Bubble stash is my top 5 beers for sure. I ordered the burger with fries and it was what I needed to get me through the long drive from Boise
google avatar

Hana W.

Yelp
This was my first time at this Hop Valley location. It was Saturday night, but they had some open spots. They have an outdoor patio with several tables and the bar has first-come first-served seating. The bar has the standard stool top seating and about 10 regular tables, and 2 TVs. The mozzarella sticks were excellent! But eat quickly before they cool down. We both had burgers and they were cooked perfectly and tasty but messier then I like. The garlic fries had a lot of raw garlic which was great, if you don't mind raw. The mozzarella mashed potatoes were a little bland, but use the extra raw garlic. There are 10+ beers on tap, though I didn't try one this visit. I've heard good things. They also have homebrewed root beer that's really good and not too sweet.

S N.

Yelp
I do not like QR code ordering. Anyplace that does it, I will not tip at all. It is equivalent to counter service. Now this place has a sign up that tries to redirect you to some media service company, and aww hell now. I walked out and will never be back. Ever since In-Bev took this place over it has rolled into a worse and worse place to go. Never again.
google avatar

Yelp
In Springfield for the weekend and loved the service, beer, and food so much that we came here twice. It was a busy weekend (soccer tournament) and they ran out of some of their menu items both nights. But what they did have was terrific. I got the mushroom stroganoff with steak added on the first night, and the buttermilk biscuit on the side was amazing. They use the same bread for their French dip. If you have the option to select a potato side, go for the tots. And while their regular taps are solid, I really enjoyed the experimentals. Will definitely stop by again if we're in town.

Dave B.

Yelp
The server was knowledgeable and entertaining. The food we had was excellent. The beer... well it's probably just me but the Stash beers they're so proud of were... insipid. I did find one brew I thought was decent. I didn't try all their offerings but just maybe with the huge number of brews on the list - they're trying too hard to be the next famous craft brewers.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Stayed across the street and was pleasantly surprised with Hop Valley. The beer was fantastic. I enjoyed the Hazy IPA and a lighter beer that was great also. The tuna salad was great also. The bar tender was very friendly. I was visiting on a work trip so I was alone and we chatted which was appreciated. On a fun note, I looked around and realized I was the only customer that didn't have a beard!
google avatar

Bruce L.

Yelp
One of the best burgers and fries I've had! Our bartender Joel was absolutely awesome. Steered us right and let us taste some beers before picking the right ones. This place is top notch. We'll be back!

Angela W.

Yelp
Food and service were bad. Beer was also flat, which was the worst offender. We were on a road trip from Wa. To Ca. Decided to grab food in Eugene. After looking on Yelp, we were excited about this place. We like their beer, so we passed several restaurants to get to this place. It was a complete disappointment.
google avatar

Dick D.

Yelp
Ordered tots. Got fries instead. All good fries were great. Ordered two Pilsner's. Also good. Lady next to us says she orders the wrong beer do I want it. Sure. Got my tab. Hops valley billed me for a beer they already billed the lady for. Never will go here again
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
Decided on Hop Valley because it was walking distance to our hotel. Glad we did. The food and margarita were really good. Our server was really nice and very helpful. The girl sitting people did seem to be on her phone a lot and took a while for her to notice us and then again with the people after us. Hop Valley was decorated really nice with all their merch. It was a very cool place.
google avatar

Katy F.

Yelp
When I was traveling a lot, Hop Valley was just a hop skip and a jump away from the hotel I was staying at making is a popular destination for my colleagues and I. I must say, it's not terrible! The ambiance is what you'd expect from a brew/bar off the highway. Somewhat intimate, fluctuation is patroons depending on the day/time and friendly staff who are happy to serve you all the Americana fare plus some local brews. I don't drink beer so... you'll have to ask someone else what they think. The food is 7/10. Nothing crazy, nothing terrible. Just what you'd expect! It's also not overly priced here, which is refreshing. Basically, expectations were met and I was not disappointed. Recommend the cobb salad.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and I have to say that there is nothing all that special about the food here. Don't get me wrong, the food is fine just a bit on the boring side. Let's be honest, sometimes you crave the simple pleasure of perfectly executed fish and chips. Sadly, my experience at Hop Valley left me feeling more like I'd been battered by mediocrity. The fries were decent, well cooked and crispy. The fish was battered in a very bland, tasteless breading that did nothing to elevate the fish although it was well fried. The coleslaw, however, deserves its own paragraph of lament. It was a dry, flavorless shadow of what a good coleslaw should be. A critical element in the fish and chips trinity, this coleslaw was a bowl of shredded cabbage with almost no dressing and what was there was without any flavor or tang. The beer was great though so I suppose that is what you would want from a brewing company so overall, I would not recommend going here for a culinary experience but if you want some simple pub food to accompany your beer this is not a bad choice. Just avoid the coleslaw.
google avatar

Don C.

Yelp
Sat in the bar and had great service. Bacon burger very good. Mozzarella sticks have a hint smoke/bacon. Salads where large and very well put together. Solid menu. TV's in the bar and in the dinning room. Under 21 allowed. Large tables for groups. Seemed to be a very organized and trained staff. Talked to at least 4 employees and all where positive, friendly and helpful. Only knock - They list their chili to have beans. Chili doesn't have beans. Real chili is bean free. Once you add beans it becomes goulash or stew. Top shelf service at Pub pricing. Well done Hop Valley
google avatar

Colleen F.

Yelp
Great food. Hamburger was delicious and well made. The French Dip was good, it just needed more horseradish, other than that, it tasted fine. The fries were hot and the tots were great, too. Service was OK, but not terrific. Will eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Food quality has gone way downhill. The Beer Cheese Soup is as grainy and the Smoked Salmon Caesar salad had barely any smoked salmon or dressing on it. I paid $20 for romaine and croutons. I use to love this place and now my family will not go back! WTF is up with the food quality in this area?!!!
