Hopdoddy Burger Bar

First time eating here. There was a bit of a wait to order but we were able to get a table as soon as we placed our order. In my opinion it was pretty expensive for what we ordered. For 3 burgers, 1 order of sweet potato fries, 1 order of parmesan fries and 2 sodas it was $62! The food was good but I doubt I would go back.

Took my son for an early lunch. Place was quiet so we assumed food would be cooked freshly and served hot. Absolutely not!!! Bun was either over-toasted or just past its BBD and bone dry. Fries were obviously left over from the day before and re-heated. Barely tepid. Tasted awful and will never go back. Tried several meals here and always bad every time so finally leaving a review to warn off others. Contacted CS every time and never get a response so they obviously don’t care! Can’t believe I’m saying this but McDonalds food is better (and that’s saying something!) 🤮

The mushroom burger was above and beyond! But someone in my party ordered El Diablo and was served El Bandito. His burger was still very tasty, just not what he ordered

Not going to lie. I went to First Watch next door, but realized it was so packed because of the trend. Stepped outside, and saw that this gem was next door! Awesome food, awesome service and awesome environment! So glad we ate here instead. Great meal to start the New Year off!

I went in to pick up a doordash order. 1. There were 17 pickup orders and a long wait. That’s nice for them, so supposedly they have great food, but no one could tell any of the people waiting how long it was for their food. 2. I stood at the front counter in front of a fill for 10 minutes and the employee behind the till took 3 groups of orders in front of me, even though I was in front of them and had been waiting. Absolutely no one greeted me. 3. There were numerous flies flying around the food. They have put their food disposal trashcan conveniently beside the front counter, so while I stood there, multiple flies landed on the counter and flew around the counter.

The service is slow every time we come, so we try not to be starving when we arrive. The burgers are always flawless, the fries cannot be beat, and the beer is cold and tasty. They're worth the wait. We come home happy every time! Hopdoddy is our go-to delivery dinner, as well, and I'm very happy that the fries now come with heating instructions. Thank you!

I don't know how many times I have driven pass this place on a weekly basis. I kept wanting to stop in for a meal and try them out. I went in for a quick lunch with my wife.. and we both were blown away.. the burgers were juicy and flavorful. The fries are good, kind of reminded me of fries from that "multiple guys" place but not as greasy. I can't wait to go back again!

Typical fancy burger joint. I had the Cadillac Wagyu burger with fries. The burger was cooked perfectly, very juicy but not undercooked, but the fries were extremely bland. I didn't get specialty fries like the girl at the counter recommend.

Went by Hopdoddy for some snacks a drink, and Aliy was the BEST bartender EVERRRR. Definitely going back!

Aliy is the best bartender! Always accommodating and very energetic which keeps us coming back. She deserves a raise!

I received an incomplete order and spent over an hour attempting to contact the store. When I finally managed to speak with someone, the lady informed me that she would ask her manager to submit a refund request and then hung up. Unfortunately, I did not receive a refund. The driver was also rude and didn't care about the missing items. Edit: the store has refunded me.

- Received burnt food with no toppings. Unbelievable they let it out the door in that condition. - Called and was told a full refund would be given. They even texted me to assure me it would. - Two weeks went by and no refund. I texted back to the same message and the guy said he heard me and was working on the refund with his manager. - Weeks later, I still have no refund. - I'm very upset about the whole experience and wish they would make it right. - I recommend avoiding this location

Jan 31st, 2025 Review: I went to this location almost after 9 months and still impressed with their burgers. I didn't remember the name of burget I tried last time but now reading last review, it seems like I picked the same on menu last time- El Diablo and my husband got the El bandito. Both burger with veg patty are amazing. The only thing I could say in terms of getting better is juiciness, for some reasons both burger taste a bit dry and you need some sort of side sauce. Speaking of which, they have removed all the 4-5 different type of ketchup, mayo and other bottles they used to have. Now, you have to ask at counter for ketchup, mayo, spicy ketchup, ranch- whatever you need and they have little to-go style box ready to hand you. As usual the place was full on a Friday Eve but we luckily got a table inside. Servers are pretty good and wait time is not too long. They do provide the plastic knife and can get you any sauce on table as needed. By the way, the portion size of side fries is good enough to share if you are not too hungry. It comes also half to 3/4th bowl full of fries, we got the sweet potato and it was good to share along with our individual burger.

We've had Hopdoddy's in the past, and they've always been consistent about the quality of the food. We came on a Saturday evening, around 7pm, and it wasn't too busy. However, there was still a long wait because they were training a new cashier. It took about 20 minutes from when we arrived and started standing in line to get to the order counter. This gave us plenty of time to decide what to order, but it was still a long wait. I used to work at a burger restaurant, and training always happened during lunch or in the afternoon when it wasn't as busy. I would think they would have done the same. I went with the Good Cause burger and an order of truffle fries. The wait for the food wasn't too long, about 10 minutes. The food was fresh and hot when it was brought to our table. Unfortunately, the burger looked smaller, and the fries seemed to be less than we remember. The price has, however, increased. We were still full after the meal, but we're not comfortable shelling out close to $18 for a burger and fries, lol. For that money, I'd rather go to P. Terry's for two burgers and two sides of fries. The service itself was good, so no complaints there. A waitress came around to check on us after our food was delivered, which I appreciated. Overall, it'll be a hard ask for us to return to Hopdoddy's because their value offer has diminished significantly. There are other options in the same area that provide excellent service and great food.

I got a free milkshake as a birthday reward. (I highly recommend signing up for their program!) When I tell you that was the best milkshake I've had in a long time. I got the cookies and cream and I LOVE how the shake was blended. The cookies pieces were small enough to where it wasn't chunky but not so finely milled that you could taste it. I like to have a slight crunch to my cookies and cream milkshakes and this gave me exactly that! The service was a little slow but someone gave me a heads up that someone would help me soon. I didn't mind the wait - it looked like they were short staffed. The location is nice and in a great area - there is so much to do around there!

Wow. I spent $20 for this. Our entire order was incorrect. Hop Doddy used to be amazing but it's lost its luster in a big way. I will never order from them again.

Something has changed and the burgers aren't as good as they used to be. Before we lived in Austin, if I was in town for business or fun, I always made a trip to Hopdoddy's. Best burgers ever! When we moved to Austin 10 years ago, we'd drive from Leander to Austin, to get a Hopdoddy burger, still the best. We would bring out of town visitors to Hopdoddy's and they would rave about the burgers...best ever. We were so excited to get a location in Cedar Park, but even on the first visit the burgers didn't taste the same. Not as juicy or crusty...or something, but still darn good. We still go and get a burger 2-3 times a year, but they seem smaller and less tasty. Unfortunately, I can't call it the best anymore. Still good, but similar to others now.

We love this place and the other Hopdoddys that we have visited in North Austin and Round Rock. We are no longer able to consume large portions of food at a single sitting. It could have something to do with our age. Anyhow, we can only stay away for so long and then we surrender to the siren song of Hopdrddy. For us, a seat at the bar is a good choice and we did that last Thursday , mid afternoon. we were greated by cheerful, knowlegeable Abbey who helped us take advantrage of the "Happy hour" drink specials. As I just said, we can't consume large portions of food but we did remember the awsome, tasty Truffle fries that they offer and we asked for an order of those and were not disappointed. We had placed our order for burgers and they arrived in a timely fashion and were ,as always, delicious. Like every other visit to a Hopdoddy, we were well pleased. As we waddled back to our car i was thinking (As a former restaurant owner) Hopdoddy sure has the consistency thing down to a T. I like this place! My review is for in person dining. You do need to find the burger that's for you though. i love the shroom burger, it has a meat patty with pesto, goat cheese and mushrooms! I ask for the whole wheat bun and it has so much texture and seeds, sesame etc! Try it, so good! The fries are too much/ like the serving size is so humongous that we choose to just get burgers. My spouse likes to get the mini chocolate shake which is likely kids size but it's actually the perfect amount! And it comes with whipped cream. I like the they play sports games on the screen and lots of variety of games on screens. Also- this place is in walking distance from where i live! one of the few places in cedar park i can walk to. And if you sign up on their app you do get free fries 1 times use!

Love coming to eat here but man I don't know what's going on with this crew and location. We came in placed our order and granted the guy who took our order looked half asleep and we had to repeat our order numerous times and ohhh btw I speak in a loud clear manner. That being said we got our table number after placing our order and as we walked to the table we noticed numerous tables that had been cleared of dishes but the tables weren't wiped down and cleaned at all. So here I am walking back to let them know at which point were given another table. As we sat down we watched a lady come wipe down the tables and chairs that weren't clean whatsoever and using the same cloth to wipe down the seats and tables which seeing who had sat there made me want to vomit. We then proceeded to watch that same lady go get our food, btw not wash her hands and bring us our food. Yay us..... Management get your stuff together because yall are failing.

The food is solid here. But this review and the 5 stars is all about the service. I was with friends who had their mother, who has dementia and uses a walker, with them. They saw her in line, came out from behind the counter, and cleared a space for her to sit. When we ordered, they comped the drink that we ordered worth her meal. When we were leaving, they asked her if she would like a shake. She was absolutely tickled! The entire drive home, she said, "mmm, mmm" after taking a sip! The employees here showed incredible respect.  This was supreme kindness.  I can't express how much seeing her smiling is so important. She probably hasn't remembered this visit, but we certainly do and will absolutely be back!

The Cedar Park location was initially overwhelmed because it is a smaller store than the others and was very popular, but now that things have evened out it isn't so difficult to get through the line and eating in a reasonable amount of time. Things will be even easier when it isn't hot as blazes outside so the outdoor tables can be better utilized. My favorite is the ahi burger, I get the nori on the side because they are delicious to snack on, but tend to get soggy inside the burger itself. The fries have gone downhill, they used to be really amazing but it seems like every time half of what they give you are the tiny little bits that should be taken out during quality control. Pro tip: the entire menu is 50% off between 4 PM and 6 PM on weekdays. it really is the best happy hour in town. That's food, drinks, everything.

Update: Changing my review from one star to five stars. Chris from this location contacted me to make it right. I am a HopDoddy regular who eats there weekly. In general I have always been pretty happy with orders being ready on time, food hot and delicious, and friendly & helpful staff.

Food-- pretty much nothing on the menu is under 800 calories. Sweet potato fries are alright other than being overly salted but I can't speak for anything else. Ambience-- dim lighting, fairly mild volume levels compared to most other establishments. Service-- practically none, expect to serve yourself including cleaning the table yourself.

The burger is still pretty darn good especially with bacon. French fries have gotten a lot better than last year. The service has gotten better. The staff seem pretty nice but I prefer to sit outside because it's still very cold indoors you'll need a jacket ha ha ha ha. I will continue to come dine here on occasion. Thank you.

Went on a Tuesday evening at 5:30pm. Bar tender didn't acknowledge my wife and me. Waited for 10 mins, didn't get a hello, water, menu, anything. We decided to leave. As we were leaving we saw the bartender "male" or something out back on his phone. Good thing we left. Sad bc we usually like to go to this location for happy hour as the other people that work there actually greet the customer.

Enjoyed happy hour on Friday evening. My burger on their gluten free bun was so good. The top bun broke up a bit and needed a fork but it was still good. The sweet potato fries were so good. I do wish a server would stop by table to check on us versus the customer having to wave someone down to get extra fork or margarita.

The service and the food were a 10/10!! Would recommend this location. We've been to other locations in Austin and they don't compare.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but as expensive as the meal was, it was just inexcusable. First, they left out multiple items, even after the person who rang us up, checked the receipt and bag right in front of us. Then, when I called to get it sorted, I was sent to a call center, where I was passed around to multiple "team members" then finally to an answering machine. As for the food, both burgers were completely overcooked and tough, and the blue cheese sauce tasted like mayonnaise that looked at a blue cheese once. The fries were greasy and limp. The only saving grace was the sage hot honey Brussels. I have been to several locations of Hopdoddy, but this is the last time. They are clearly being mismanaged!

I think I've been to all of the Hopdoddy locations in the area. This location like the others serves a great burger and fries. I really like the album art on the walls and the layout overall. Recently I tried a happy hour snack that was amazingly delicious. Please try the pretzel bites with queso If it is still an option when you go in. Get yourself a Voodoo Ranger, Juicy Haze IPA if you've never had one also. It can get busy here but please be patient. These folks work hard for us. Peace.

Salt Burgers. sloppy, messy, sauce, salt, crap, third time same gross food, at least it's expensive too

We've given this location several tries and today was the last time we'll be back. Each and every time we come here we end up waiting a ridiculously long time for our food (even today, we were the first people there at 11am and it took 25 minutes until we got anything)... and our fries included an ingredient that we asked to not have on there because of a dairy allergy, and my burger was not cooked remotely correctly. We had to send my burger back and my family was finished eating their meals before I got my corrected one- my husband actually had to go and ask about it before I got it. I also saw the lady who brings out peoples food wipe her nose on a napkin and she did NOT wash her hands. There were also several girls with long hair not wearing hair nets/hats in the kitchen. If all of this was a first time thing we would give them another chance, but each time we've been it's not been a good experience.

I guess people smoke crack before they eat at this establishment and before they give a 5 star review. The tables were all dirty. The drink cups were soaking wet, the plates with the parchment paper were soaking. In case you don't know, that means their dishwashers have run out of hot water and they just didn't get them sanitized and dried. The food came and the meat was gristly and inedible. The brioche bun on another burger stank of old egg, no egg in the burger, just bad eggs used for the egg wash. Never again. The only thing that was good was the beer.

I wanted to try the regenerative options provided in the menu and it turned out to be good. One suggestion to the establishment is to have a separate process to order drinks and enjoy instead of lining up in the same queue where folks are waiting to order food. Overall the ambiance was great just like their sister outlets, serving speed be better, food quality was good.

We have always been very pleased with service at the bar, however this last visit we decided to sit at a table since it was close to 11:30 and lots of tables available. We ordered and 10 minutes later we got our burgers but no fries for almost 20-25 minutes! By that time, husband already finished his burgers. I'm pretty sure it was forgotten when I asked about it. 10 minutes later, we got our fries and had to eat them after the fact. A few minutes later as we were scanning their table card to make a comment, someone dropped off an updated ticket that waived the fries from our bill. Note to self, I am no longer tipping before service. It always seems to jinx us. Other than that, the burger and my burger bowl were tasty as always. We'll be back but they have got to get the timing right on fries order. We had this happen to us in the past but had never had to wait this long til our meals were almost done.

Absolutely horrible staff. We played a order and were eating it. We realized we need to buy a coke. So I just went ahead to the order counter and took permission from the person waiting there for his order. Still the staff says go back to the end of line. Bloody when the other customers have no issue why would you do such a thing. Horrible. Never again

Truffle fries were stale and hard, not edible. When I call to get a refund, no one answers and an automated system sends me to a voicemail. I tried the link below, and it doesn't work. I called and left a voicemail at the Cedar Park location on the day of: can't someone call me back?

Good burgers, great chicken sandwiches, and good fries. The cocktail selection could be a little more interesting, but frozen margaritas on tap are always welcome!

People here are great! Food is garbage. Avoid this place. Paid $75 for burgers sides and drinks for TWO people. The fries came cold with the spices for the Buffalo style but without the sauce. The Buffalo Bill burger was dry, had barely anything in the way of toppings and the patty had a strong rancid smell that was confirmed by my date. My dates food was similarly dry and mostly tasteless. If you do stop in, the drinks are solid. You'll probably need one.

A solid 3. Three's may not get pictures. Sorry folks, that's just how life is. Nothing to show off. Burgers are good but not flavor explosions like I was hoping. Sauces were nice and tangy. Got the aioli and doddy sauce. Actually ordered delivery and by the time food arrived it was all below luke warm so I had to heat it up. Hmmm not something I'd recommend. I would definitely want to try them in person because I'm sure the freshness is there but I was left searching for it when the food was delivered. Wife ordered regular bun and I got the wheat. Hands down getting the wheat bun always going forward. So much better! She got the Truffle and I got the Shroom. With the prices compared to what I got, I'm not sure if I'll go here or another local burger joint next time. Summation of meal: decent.

I like hopdoddy's I've never had any issues here. I'm not sure why this has so many low ratings. I usually order to go. But the food is always hot and my order has always been correct. The restaurant is also in a very convenient location in Cedar Park.

Ordered online, burgers didn't come out the way we ordered for online/togo pickup. Burgers were extremely overcooked and extremely dry. Didn't even get bacon jam on burger whenever it was the bacon jam & I didn't order it without it. What's the point then? Also ordered ranch with each burger, didn't get a single ranch. Paid extra for extra ranch didn't get that either. Truffle fries were stale and tasted old. To go/online order line very disorganized leading to other people waiting in line getting upset and hostile towards other people waiting. Overall very disappointing the worst anything has tasted and looked since going there. We were looking forward to having a nice meal usually hopdaddy is the go to spot if you want a fresh good tasting burger. We had just spent 2 days moving were starving and wanted something good for dinner and to open it up when we get home was frustrating because nothing was right. Didn't look like there was any managers actively managing kitchen staff/front staff. A free for all it seemed like. Won't be going back to this location. Almost 60$ down the drain is pretty irritating.

I visited a friend in Texas and his kids absolutely loves Hopdoddy. I heard it's the burger place to go to so I went there for a quick bite one evening. The place was nicer than other usual fast casual burger joints I've been to. Ordering was quick and easy, food came out relatively fast. Staff was friendly. Food wise, I felt like my llano poblano burger was dry and lacking in flavor. I was really disappointed because I love poblano peppers so had high expectations. I added some extra sauce to it but felt like it was taking away from the burger itself. The fries were decent. I'm not sure if I like the Parmesan truffle fries, it didn't have as much of a truffle taste to it as I thought it would but you can definitely taste the Parmesan! I'd suggest giving it a good toss so it wasn't mixed in that well. My fav would probably be the sweet potato fries.

We tried Hopdoddy for the first time. We won't go back. This was around 4:15 on a Monday. It was not crowded. The ambience was more of a full serve bar that also served burgers. The music was way too loud for the amount of people inside. My wife and I both ordered the classic without any extras (keep it simple) and the small fries. It took 25 minutes to get our food (did I mention it was not crowded?). The burgers were room temp, and the fries were almost cold. (They keep it very cold inside.) Nothing worse than cold shoestring French fries. The burgers were unremarkable for $9.50 each. The small fries were $4.50. So for $23.50 we got two cold bland burgers, cold shoestring French fries, and it took 25 minutes. We could have had better food at Carl's Jr. across the street for 1/2 the price. Extremely disappointing

I would give -5 if I could. First of all, the staff were not very happy and friendly although it was not a busy friday. The whole time we were there, the only time some stopped at our table is when they brought out the food, which is almost 20mins after we ordered. 2 out of 3 of the burgers were cold and dried. One of them is a little warm but supper soggy (first pic). The truffle fries were super salty. Last and worst, both my daughter and my wife had diarrhea later that night. Not gonna come back to this place again. We like hop doddy burger but this location is horrible

TLDR: The food's not bad. Though if you're coming, come for the party times and alcohol, not the burgers. I realize that Hopdoddy's has a major following, but I'm not among the converted. Nothing against it, I'm just not wowed compared to the surfeit of amazing burger places in Austin. Service was fast and friendly. The place is set up well for the bar and a lot of outdoor seating, so there's that. Place was fairly clean and well ordered. Bonus points for the Red Gold ketchup with the real sugar as opposed to corn syrup. Burgers came out fast and presented well. The odd thing is, everything was...well, warm. Not hot-off-the-grill, just so-so heated through. The basic hamburger's fine. I also liked the 'Goodnight/Good Cause' burger, which came with cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, BBQ sauce, mayo, lettuce & tomato. However, all these elements did over power a pretty average-sized patty. Add it together and nothing's bad per se, but a little underwhelming. I'd definitely come back and try another burger, perhaps a double patty. But it's hard to say, "Yeah, get on over here, you have to have this!!" This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

I was surprised to see a 3 star on yelp as I've heard good things, so we decided to give it a try today 9/5/22 @ noon for lunch despite the poor rating. The big guy with the backwards ball cap and glasses who rang us up is truly a detriment to your business, not only was he rude and totally unhelpful to us, we watched him run off several other customers from the dining area as we ate our food. Learn how to be friendly and actually explain how seating works to your new customers, it was painful to watch how bad you are with people. Food came out fast, burgers were just ok, fries were really not impressive, the green chile queso was good. I had the poblano, my wife had the a classic, and son had the grilled cheese. Way too many better burger places to give this one another try.

Hopdoddy USED to be good. Their quality and service have really gone down. The last time I went, their fries were over salted, stale, and just tasted like they were either sitting all day or cooked in old oil. Their happy hour is terrible now. They must tell the bartenders to leave 10-15 before it ends, so you can't purchase drinks. I used to recommend this place to everyone and take my colleagues to happy hour. Not anymore.

This restaurant goes further and further downhill the longer it's open. Whatever we order never comes out right. Raw burgers. Burgers missing ingredients. Fries coming out after the meal. It goes on and on. Every visit. We've finally crossed it off our eat at list.

Tried this for the first time after seeing Top Gun: Maverick across the street. Good burgers! My only complaint is that the bottom bun was soggy. Meat was excellent, and the sweet potato fries were great! (They also reheated well in the air fryer!). I got the half size fries, and it was more than enough! They also have a full bar if you want a cocktail. Give it a try!

Came in today at 1:00 pm after the lunch rush. Place is very cute and clean! Little confusing how to order, but the gal at the register came to the rescue! Great job. Being a cashless establishment, should have done my homework, hope it's posted on your website. We did get free sodas for being first timers..Nice..we were assigned a table and food came rather quickly. We were NOT impressed with our burgers. We had the double bacon and your special burger with the chorizo. Both of us were not happy with our burgers, the flavor of the meat was off, tasted and looked like a fried thin burger. The staff was on point, and friendly even as we left the restaurant.

Yesterday was my first time coming to this Hopdoddy and I will say my experience was only okay. First off from the minute we entered and throughout our entire visit not one employee even remotely appeared welcoming. There were no smiles, no greeting, no thanks for visiting, nothing. Second when I received my burger the bun was not round as it was significantly smashed but I said nothing because based on the attitudes of the employees I felt I would have been blown off and my complaint dismissed. Third the burger itself was a little less cooked than I felt a burger should be despite still being warm. Overall not a very good experience and I honestly think that the price paid (almost $19) was NOT worth it. I also would just keep driving past and I would take my business elsewhere.

BEST HAPPY HOUR EVER! Can't stress this enough. Around $30 for 4 apps and two GIGANTIC margs. It's crazy this exists. If you're on a budget, come to a hopdoddy happy hour! You'll feel so good afterwards, you'll feel even better when you know you didn't splurge on such a good time afterwards. Your wallet will thank you. Your tummy too!

They sat us at a dirty table. Had to ask staff to clean it. Then I looked down. Big mistake. The floor was disgusting. Hard to believe that was just from today. Made me doubt the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Alé was fantastic!! She was very attentive and we made great conversation the whole time. Food was spectacular, the truffle fries in particular were my FAV.

Sat at the bar. Great burger and choices of beverage. Service was spectacular from Ali. Atmosphere is wonderful.

Not sure what the situation is at this hopdoddy, but it's probably the worst of all of them. We've eaten here a few times and it's never been high quality. This latest time, though, took the cake. First, the queso was cold ( not tepid, but actively cold ). When I took it to the counter, they "warmed it up" and it was still lukewarm and very coagulated. Next, the fries themselves were stale & limp. Uncertain how that happens but it seemed like they were yesterday's fries warmed up. Finally, the tuna burger I had was hard in the middle and came out in chunks. The nori on top was stale and not crunchy. The only saving Grace was my wife's mushroom burger which she said was the best she'd had at Hopdoddy because they had more mushrooms and goat cheese than normal. All told, they need a lot of help and quality control. (Edit: after filling out a survey online for them, they refunded the queso due to it being cold.)
