Hopdoddy Burger Bar

First thing. Food service really good, nice people. Cashier was polite and friendly. Food as your can see was and looked good. There is only one thing stopping this review from being 5 stars. There was a cook in the back very tall guy. I witness him touching his face and nose and touching the food. I also saw him lift his shirt and wipe his nose in the process his stomach showed, mind you he was in the cooking station. I might try this place in the future. However for now I won't be coming here. I don't want this review to be all negative. Food was good. I just couldn't finish it after seeing that I'm sorry.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING food and location. The food was perfectly cooked and juicy. We tried both of the standard fries and loved them both. All of the sauces were delicious and added to the meal. John M helped us at the counter, but everyone else also greeted and interacted with us. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. John took the time to help us customize our orders without us feeling rushed or like a bother. Even the management team behind him and the other front counter employees greeted us warmly. We ordered to go and our visit made a lovely pinic in a nearby park. We will definitely return. Thank you!!!

We stopped for fries and ended up adding on a burger and a couple of small shakes. The fries and sauces didn't disappoint, and the burgers were tasty! It was an impromptu stop, so we didn't get much. I love that they offered a small size shake. We'd love to go back during happy hour to try the sliders offered only during that time. The fish sandwich looks good, too.

The Diablo burger was really good, Had a good amount of spice and was cooked really well. Nacho fries were also really good

This is my 4th?) Hopdoddy location in Houston and I have to say I love the consistency across locations, from the feel to the service. ...even the location in Denver (CO)! Never change! ...or just change to be even better 😉 ...and still waiting on the jerk burger rotation to come back?? Maybe?

Had the Tikka Masala and The Magic Shroom. Both burgers were great and the fries come out quick, hot and crispy! Definitely recommend!

The double bacon jam is the perfect burger , went with the family and everyone enjoyed their meal . Quality is like no other spot I leave full without feeling heavy can’t wait to go again!

The Cadillac Burger was very fulfilling and hit the spot on a Friday night. Truffle fries is a must.

Food is decent - not that flavorful and lots of cheap ingredients that are mixed (too sugary or salty). I doubt the ingredients are fresh. Hot honey & sage brussel sprouts were just leafs with too much sauce drenched. Service is decent, but you just check out from the counter and the waiters just give food. Ambiance is busy.

A few weeks ago I visited Hopdoddy's over Memorial Day weekend. It was my first visit. We arrived around 11:30 AM ish, so there wasn't a line or crowd. We walked to the area in the back to place and pay for our order. I asked the cashier one or two questions about the menu. She was sooo over it, and it was the beginning of her shift! Although she wasn't very friendly, she managed to answer my questions. Shortly after we paid and sat down, the fries arrived hot. They were exactly what you'd want from a cool burger joint...perfectly salted with a generous portion of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Another server brought our burgers out. The Magic Shroom burger was a hit. I ordered it with a beef patty cooked medium. When the burger initially came out, I felt a bit of disappointment when I saw the goat cheese. Instead of the fresh goat cheese crumbles I love so much, it came with a creamy goat cheese spread. Much to my surprise, the spread worked well so the burger was a winner. I ordered a side of bacon jam, simply because it sounded tasty. It was tasty and sweet. Loved it. The Double Bacon Jam burger also gets two thumbs up. The servers were fast and friendly. Everything we ordered was eaten in its entirety. As they say, we left no crumbs - literally. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed. We definitely beat the Saturday noon crowd. We will return in the future.

Love love this place !! expensive for a cheeseburger but very yummy !! Love how they have mini milkshakes to because the portions on the french fries are massive!!! i mean what can go wrong with the word massive haha but i do like the heights location has a nice outside patio and bar inside!

Friendly quick service. Delicious truffle Parmesan fries, amazing chicken sandwhich. Highly recommend this stop for lunch or dinner.

My wife and I love Hopdoddy and this time we were disappointed because there was a gnat issue. We had to move two times and just finally moved outside. Let's get it together.

Hopdoddy never fails!! Every time I come has been a great experience with food and service. I love that they gave the limited burger to try every month. My fiancé tried their limited doddy melt that they brought back and I had their truffle Mac which was super delicious!!! Their frozen margaritas were also bomb. The staff here are always sooo kind, enthusiastic and quick with service. There is always plenty of seating and parking despite how busy it gets. Can't wait to come back to try more items.

So we went back again....world of difference, had the double bacon jam bowl, really good and the truffle brussels were great. Unfortunately didn't have bun this time to see how it was, ( see my first review). For the first time in many many visits someone stopped by the table to check in, not sure if this is a new policy or just never happened before with us....but it seems like something that should happen on the regular. As always the place was clean and welcoming. We were set in the bar area, bartender was a real nice guy also. Overall good experience, good job guys

Hop daddy is a decent concept but the execution of the concept is a step below. First off the cost. It's a bit too high for the portions and quality. The burgers are good not great. The entire menu is kinda the same, good not great. I often find myself reading the menu and just not wanting anything on there. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the shakes.

Love-hate relationship with Hopdoddy. The food is always good and they have a good selection of beer. A while back we went there to watch a game and drink beer. It dragged on until past closing but they were fine with us staying while they cleaned up. There were several other customers finishing as well. Bartender activated his personal BT speaker and blared Mexican rap music so we left. Where was the manager? More recently we went for a burger and to hopefully watch the Astros game. The manager said they had DirectTV and so they don't get the Astros games. Huh? We pressed and finally got the game on. Special handling on my wife's chocolate milkshake was too much to manage. She wanted it after the meal as a dessert. It never arrived so I reminded the bartender about it. No problem. 10 minutes later still no milkshake. Reminded her again. She brought a cookies and cream milkshake. Tried again and got a runny, sickly sweet version. Not like she was busy with customers. She was busy cleaning the bar area like you'd do when you're closing. It was 2 hours before closing. Nobody really cared. This is clearly a management issue. It'd be cool if the Manager would get this sorted out.

Happy Hour sliders, medium rare with parsley fries and side with Queso, small Frozen Marg... omg!!! Fantastic! Jose is awesome bartender! Wowed

The food is decent, and nothing to complain about. The service is alright, never had a bad experience. The ambiance might have to be the best part, good place to just chat and have fun with people

We had planned on eating dinner at this establishment tonight, but sat at the bar for over 10 min with no one assisting us. To be clear there were only 2 other people sitting at the bar when we sat down. However the bartender proceeded to take orders from another couple that sat down, along with people picking up their drinks after picking up their orders. We never even received a quick glance or I'll be right with you. After the wait, we simply left and went to Jinya. I remember when this Hopdoddy was amazing. What happened???

Love the ahi tuna sandwich's. I ask for a lettuce wrap xtra wasabi chip, and added avocado. DELISH. Happy hour is cool but making you sit at the bar to receive the discount is not cool.

We ate at the restaurant next door the day before and we were bugging out about trying this restaurant and it was all worth the wait. I have never had Mac and Cheese on my hamburger before and it didn't disappoint.. I got an opportunity to run into my mom's (RIP) classmate. And he was telling us at how incredibly fresh the food was. So, if you are in the mood for for some amazing food and good clean atmosphere and get out and lose urself into a burger with Mac and Cheese.... I PROMISE YOU WANT REGRET IT

The Buffalo Bill Burger was very dry even though it appeared to be medium. It was smaller than I expected. The other burgers are 6oz this one was suppose to be 8 oz. I got robbed .. LOL. This would be fine if it were good. The fixings inside were better without the meat. No burger comes with fries. So expect to add another $4-10. The cashier was friendly. No other real service unless you sit at the bar. Maybe next time .. if there is a next time .. I will try the loaded Parmesan Truffle Brussels. They smelled awesome.

Large space with both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately they got rid of the impossible burger, but apparently they offer a vegetarian menu I'll have to ask for next time. Other than that their burgers and fries are delicious and up to par with other hopdoddy locations. Service is friendly and quick as well.

Always a hit! One of my favorite places for specialty burgers! They have such unique flavors and combinations. I love that they have specials to keep the menu fresh and exciting! My favorite staple item is the "Magic Shroom" burger! If you love goat cheese and Basil this burger is for you! I'm not a huge mushroom person but on this burger they bring a nice flavor and not overwhelming! The green chili queso fries are also always a must! Their fries are thin and crispy and the queso is flavorful for a great combo!

Love a good burger! My husband got the Mac truffle burger & it was so good. I loved the mac & cheese inside and it gave it a nice flavor. I got the Diablo burger and it wasn't too spicy. Super juicy & delicious. I love truffle fries & of course we ate it all. Love going here for a chill dinner!

Ordered otp they said 15 min got there after 20 min for some cushion room. Went in to pay for my food and was told it was still being made to give it 5 min. Waited and 20 min go by and nothing. I go up to the pick up station and they hand me an order from the back shelf which was not my order. They grab another order and the food was cold like it had been sitting for 20+ min. First time customer. Horrible service.

Came here late on a Wednesday night for a burger and luckily got my order in on time. We decided to share the Big Chuck, it was massive. They cooked it perfectly the way I wanted (medium rare) and there was a ton of flavor in the burger itself. I also had an order of the parmesan fries, which honestly could have lived without as they didn't wow me. Tasted like regular fries to me with a sprinkle of parmesan. Service was good, our waitress brought over like 4 things of pickles for the burgers since I like to add a ton in!

I am usually here twice a week. Today I tried the hot honey and sage Brussels sprouts. They were amazing. My Magic Shroom is my go to in keto. No bun.

Stopped here for a beer, pecan porter. Menu was like burgers and wings. Trendy, almost a sports bar vibe. Service was slow.

All I have to say is $42 for two hamburgers order french fries and one drink.... Ridiculous... There is no way this place should have a reasonable price connected with it.

I drove 15 minutes to get my favorite hamburger the Royale and it is no longer on the menu. Very sad. Last time at hopdoddy.

Expensive for a dry rubbery pre made patty. I've only had to send food back to the kitchen twice in my 35 y/o life this was one of them. Pretty good ambience maybe I'll come back for a drink one day but not to eat $30 worth of "burger" and fries

My first time here! They have a vegetarian menu so ask them for it. Lee was very nice he told us about the different vegetarian burgers. We got half sweet potato and potato fries. They were very good. A lot of various condiments. The veggie spicy burger with tillimook cheese was tasty!! I loved it and will be back

We walked up to get take out from here because we hadn't been before. The first issue was the menus had zero descriptions of the burgers so the guy had to spout them off. Props to him because he knew everything but by the time he got to the fifth burger I couldn't remember the first two. The burger was pretty messy but tasty. Everything kind of slid around and fell out as we ate it. The fries were good and a huge amount. They gave us two packets of ketchup for an order of shared fries. Yikes. The worst part is we didn't get any napkins. Who doesn't give napkins? Food pretty good. Extra stuff could use some work. Update: We went back, courtesy of the manager, and we had a much better experience. I got the regular burger but added bacon and had sauce on the side. The meat was delicious and a huge cut of meat. My boyfriend got the El Diablo and it was super duper spicy and usually he can take it. The fries were delicious as always. The queso was salty but still good. We like what we had this go around and appreciate the opportunity to try it again.

We were here for lunch today and it seemed like they are lacking on staffs. Our burgers and truffle fries came out within 20min but the sweet potatoes fries took much longer . We were almost done with our meals that was when the sweet potato fries came. And we even ate slow so we can wait for eat. Food was good as always. There was Rony who works there. We sat there and saw him working like crazy. Poor guy, he has to take care of the bar and it looks quite obvious that he has take over someone else position. Since he also had to run and serve out in the patio and of course the inside too. Hopefully the management notice his hard work and appreciated him because he surely deserve to be the employee of the month.

Yes it is slightly pricey and yes maybe the burger is slightly small but that is how things are now. If you come here and get Burger small fries and a drink you can get it for about $20 but it is very tasty and in my opinion worth it. The cheese sauce here is great so get some.

Scrumdidaliumptous!? Yep! Thats about right. I ordered from here for lunch today through uber eats. Boy o boy, it was super good. I got a classic burger w cheese on an egg bun and a cookies and cream shake. This was very good and cooked to perfection. **I would recommend they get styrophome cups for their togo shakes, because mine was pretty melted when it got to me. **Also, the shakes should be put in a bag and stapled closed for all uber or doordash orders to make tamper proof. I don't want my driver Obeying his thirst with my smoothly, okay? Other than that! Great job. :*D

We almost hesitated going here due some reviews relating that this location is not as good as the Austin one(s). We thought that our burger was delicious. It's not a big as a Langford's, in fact I've rarely had a burger this small in diameter, but it made up for that in thickness and juiciness. Because of the size, I though the burgers were higher priced than the competition. The fries came out warm, and they said they were double fried. I do t know why they weren't hot though, that's what makes fries delicious. The big bonus was the homemade large treat for our dog, and at no charge. All the employees were super friendly.

Hopdoddy is the kind of place that I really want to give three and half stars to, but because I'm feeling generous I'll round up and make it an even 4 stars. Here's why... I love burgers...and I love fries. I have a pretty healthy on again off again relationship with beer. Having lived all over the country one can begin to classify burgers in fries according to price. Granted...there are exceptions because a lot differs on value (rural vs metropolitan) and what your budget is. You can disagree with me in the comments section, but let me lay it out as I see it. For a burger in the $5-$10 range it'll be ok, kinda greasy, but it'll do the job. A burger in the $11-$18 range will probably be a thicker patty, not as greasy, and now some attention is given to a fancier style of bread and higher quality condiments. For a burger that is $19-$25...it better 1) be a meal in itself, 2) have that amazing fresh red meat flavor with all the right condiments to match, and 3) be served on the appropriate size bun that rocks its own flavor. Hopdoddy burgers are good...they're really good...but each time I go I keep on feeling like I'm overpaying. Maybe it's the size of the burger. I don't know...I suggest you go try them and make up your own mind. They have a bunch of specialty fries that are all really good. I suggest you try a different one each time you go. Figure that two people will spend $50-$75 including tax and tip for a burger each, share an order of fries, and each get a beer or two. Enjoy!

This is the best burger I have had in a long time. I eat lots of burgers and this one topped them all. The service was fast, the atmosphere was great and the food was superb! Kim M.

Summer is the perfect time for a burger. I've been here once before and decided to stop by. I had forgotten that you need to get a table number first and then order. I didn't see any signage to remind me about it. Luckily their people are super nice and accommodating. We found someone to help us track down a table. I got the classic burger well done and it was a pretty good burger. I got the handcut fries. I wasn't a big fan of the fries since they were room temperature and pretty hard. A few were undercooked. I also tried the sparkling pamble jousse which has deep eddy grapefruit vodka. It was refreshing on a hot Saturday afternoon.

I really love coming here! They have new limited time items every month and they always look delicious. They also will swap out different patty types if you ask!

This is what you will get when you order a $15 beyond meat burger via DoorDash. A puny little burger with yellow lettuce, half a tomato slice and burnt mushrooms. This is entirely on the restaurant for sending out a mediocre and unacceptable product! Classic Burger Impossible Burger Veggie Burger

It was late and I was hungry, so I stopped by this place to get a quick take-out burger. Some friends of mine have told me they like Hopdoddy's, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it didn't end up being a quick stop at all - they lost my order and after half an hour of waiting they had to remake my burger. They included free fries for my wait, which I appreciated, especially because I was getting quite hangry. When I finally dug into my food, I was surprised by how delicious the Magic Shroom burger was! I thought the flavors worked well together, and the juicy patty was very satisfying. I also received the hot honey & sage sweet potato fries. They were okay - they were exactly as described, but I just wasn't a huge fan.

Burger was great, I had the thunderbird lettuce wrapped! I also got a side of parmesan truffle fries bc balance, right? Honestly the fries were not crispy, I would even go as far as saying soggy..... I had a bunch of parmesan but I couldn't taste any truffle oil which was unfortunate. It was extremely slow but somehow the bartender wasn't able to make our drinks for at least 15 min (I know ppl exaggerate but this was not an exaggeration lol) so I finally went and asked the counter if they could grab our drinks since they were just in a bottle. Other than the hiccups I would say burgers are great, and skip the fries

The food is ok but not for the price. The ordering process is horrible. They brought out my fries 20mins before my burger so you could eat hot fries without a burger or eat cold fries with a burger your choice. I let the manager know about the timing issue, she could care less, she just offer refund of fries or remake to shut me up but no concern about my experience. So in all we wont be back, the food is not good enough to put up with anything. Whatabuger is better than is place and cheaper. Over priced, poor order process and ok food. I would pass.
