If you’re a burger lover, do yourself a favor and stop by this gem! I came in on a slow night, and from the moment I saw the menu, I knew I was in for something special. The variety had me hyped, but the real magic happened when the amazing staff helped me craft one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. I went with the Bacon Double Jam, but with a twist—ADD bacon, an egg over medium, and jalapeños (shoutout to the cook for these game-changing recommendations!). Every single bite was packed with flavor, and my taste buds were basically singing in appreciation. The fries? Crispy perfection. And let’s talk about their ice—I don’t know what it is about great ice, but it’s a small touch that makes a big difference! Beyond the food, the service was top-notch—quick, friendly, and genuinely helpful. If you’re ever unsure about what to order, just chat with the staff, and they’ll make sure you get something amazing. 10/10, no notes. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Love their burgers and fries. Portions are big so hubby and I can share. Seriously, the fries come in a mixing bowl! Customized requests not a problem. If you aren't into bread, any burger can be made into a bowl.

Slow evening for them bc of the weather, but all employees were friendly, helpful, and kind! Food was delicious! Our 10yo loved the truffle aioli and gave his kids’ burger a 10/10! Highly recommend the Magic Shroom! Yum!

Would have given 5 stars if they had heard my wife's order. They brought our food to our table. The waitstaff was puzzled that there were three people at the table and only two orders brought to the table. So we told her the order that we didn't receive. She came back and said that that order was not placed.

Thanks to the Hopdoddy app we were able to try out the burger of the months for free and the Terlingua burger smacks! Lara and Carl provided excellent service. Especially when it came to making the burger gluten friendly.

Don’t waste your time and money at this location. I was the only person in line and not one person acknowledged my presence for over three minutes. It is reasonable to expect To-Go burgers and fries to somewhat cool down on the drive home, but mine were downright cold. The meat was literally so cool I could pick it up. The fries were stale as if they’d been sitting out for way too long. Never again will I order from this location.

My husband and I have lunch here almost everyday and they never fail to serve delicious food! The gluten free buns are so good too. My go to is the classic and this sauce is addictingly delicious!

This hamburger place has great burgers; their specialties are well combined with great taste. I just did not like the Ahi Tuna; it was not great. The Brussels fries are delicious. I do recommend coming here on time before they close because they won’t give you your order correctly and will give it to you to go and cold. So come in on time. Not great customer service.

The food was fresh& delicious. The service was great very friendly great atmosphere. They had a great selection of beer. The manager Carl was very friendly. If you're in the area visiting give this place a try.. you won't regret it.

Pretty good burgers. We cut the burgers in half and split them, the El Diablo is actually pretty spicy, I'm used to places calling their food "spicy" but it just being mild, but this one was actually spicy!! So good!! The mushroom burger was a good compliment to it, very tasty. Inside vibe is pretty chill, kind of have a little bar area a separated from restaurant area by the food line if that makes sense.

This time was a better experience than the last time I was here. Their burgers are solid for sure but the real stars are their sweet potato fries!

I was pleasantly surprised by Hopdoddy. Service was good, our food came quick and everything was delicious. We had loaded nacho style fries and 3 types of burgers namely classic, goodnight/good cause & a double bacon jam. I was skeptical about the fries but it was so good, especially dipped in their chipotle bbq(or was it catsup) sauce. Although all the burgers were good, I preferred the flavors of goodnight/good cause especially with the chipotle sauce. I think that sauce is versatile you can eat it with anything. Their strawberry shake as pretty good as well and their beers are extra cold.Everyone we encountered was super nice. I deducted a star because their bathrooms were not that clean.

The vibe is great love the seating! The food is delicious. And the staff is great. Definitely my go to for a real good burger and a craft beer.

Popped in after moving our son into his dorm for his freshman year. Having never been, had to give it a try. The restaurant was lined with TVs with an atmosphere subscription. Ambient noise was average. They even offer patio dining. Service was super helpful and they even gave me a sample of their bacon jam. From order to table, food delivery was efficiently prompt. Family all had a double bacon jam burger while I tried the goodnight/good cause. Boys also tried the candy bar shake. The double bacon jam was s pleasant surprise. The bacon jam tastes a thousand times better on the burger. But I'd still have to give the edge to the goodnight/good cause. That burger was amazingly delicious. Complete with a side of hot honey and sage fries. And they candy bar shake Is addicting. Tastes like a hot fudge sundae. Highly recommend.

The greens look good but the avocado is brown. Patty is over salted and they forgot one of the main ingredients; the pesto. This was an online order but they could mention something when you come in to pick it up.

My fiancé and I had our first visit to Hopdoddy and decided to sit at the bar--what a great decision! Ben at the bar is an absolute treasure. He was attentive, friendly, and made our experience even better. The food was delicious, and our drinks were just as impressive. What stood out the most was Ben's hospitality--he greeted every guest as they walked in and made sure to thank them as they left. That level of service truly sets this place apart. We'll definitely be back!

Just moved to the New Braunfels area and the closest HopDoddy is in San Marcos! Came during lunch hour and it wasn't too loud or busy, which was nice and made it great for conversation and hanging out. Cal, who I believe is the manager here, is AWESOME! So personable and VERY helpful!! From the time we walked in to the time we left! Everyone greeted us and was super friendly! The truffle fries are our favorite, and the milkshakes made it amazing to wash down with! Would definitely come back to this location!

We decided to come here after church and was happy to see no one in here! We had the whole place to ourselves because they just opened at 11am. This was my first time in here and loved how easy it was. The lady working at the counter was super sweet! We ordered and told us where she would like us to sit. As we waited for our food, she came to deliver us our fries. They were very flavorful! After about ten minutes, the manager came to talk to us to let them know their fryer was taking awhile to heat up. We were waiting on the chicken sandwich. I liked that he communicated this to us! We were in no rush, so it wasn't a big deal at all. As our burgers came out, they were piping hot! They were out of the Tillamook cheddar so I chose American. The food overall was good! I didn't give it a five because it wasn't the best burger I've had. Overall, the restaurant was clean and loved all the tvs! Lots of places to eat and you can eat outside too.

Consistent quality! Delicious burgers! The service is prompt and the ambiance is nice and friendly. There are a lot of burger combinations and many are very creative. Try their truffle fries! You will love it if you like the taste of truffles. Fancy fries indeed! The burgers are not large in size but it is packed with flavor! High quality burger ingredients too!

I was told that hop doddy served some of the best burgers ever by my boyfriend so I had quite the high expectations in getting dinner here. While the food isn't bad, it's definitely pricey for what it is. As someone that comes from a place with many burger joints with the same business model and ambiance, I felt that my experience was nothing special. We both had a burger and shared an order of parmesan truffle fries, yet the bill was over $30. The staff were friendly enough but it's not like the kind of restaurant where you're supposed to have someone attending to you, so when asked to tip we were unsure of what to base our tip amount off of. My recommendation is just to be aware that it'll be $15+ a person here. I usually go to happy hour to get parmesan truffle fries for half price, so in terms of getting the best bang for your buck I think there are some alternatives worth considering.

We came in on a Tuesday afternoon and the gentleman who served us at the bar really made our day! He was so friendly and so helpful, the service felt above and beyond. We were coming through town on a road trip and we had a really nice time eating there. Also the burgers were fantastic! My partner got the special and I was able to get a delicious veggie burger and homemade gluten free bun, which is a rare treat for me. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

3rd 5 star review in a row. The signature place in town for me and my father whenever he drives through here Burgers and the Chillie Cheese Fries are amazing. Love the Location I love it all. If anyone wants a good Burger Place other than Ivars, this is the place to be

One star for the fresh shredded kale salad in the burger bowl. Other wise no stars. The fries were stale, old and tasteless. The burger was tough. Dine in was on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm. Very slow. No excuse for bad food. Service was fine. Restaurant was clean enough but the restrooms had a funky, sewage like rotten smell. Will not go back. Stick to frescos next door.

You are asked to input your phone number when placing your order to address any issue. I ordered Sage fries, no sage, and Nashville hot chicken, no hot sauce. Disappointing take out dinner.

It's ok! Grateful for a spot without seed oils. Still tastes a little too greasy, though. No bites have a real crunch to them if you know what I mean. Everything's a little mushy. Neat topping options.

This Hop Doddy was just okay. My burger was flavorless and my wife's the same, along with being under done. The truffle fries were fair. All in all, no need to go back, especially since the price was $39.00 for two burgers, drinks and a fry. Fyi: This place is cashless. Which I think is absurd. I hate being forced to use a CC or cash. Hate not having the option, either way.

Service was spectacular and the food was made to match. While I didn't eat inside, I was greeted with many fantastic photos relating to the community along the walls.

One of the best happy hours around and our bartender Lara is the best! We try to go when she's working for her excellent service and great conversation. Hopdoddy is lucky to have her! The kale caesar salad is one of my favorite menu items.

Food is terrible . Service was OK. Not really real food IMO. I had it a few years ago in Austin and it was way better. It's definitely gone down w the quality since then. Definitely will never eat at one again under no circumstances.

I know Hopdoddy's "theme" could historically be labeled as fresh, hip, and farm-to-table. But now it appears they're really trying to nail "lackluster." I used to brag on HD every chance I got, making mention of them to all my friends and family. I don't think I need to carry that torch anymore. The most recent visit (2/14/23) may be the end of my infatuation with what was once the greatest burger experience of my eating journey. There was no love tonight, of all nights. Only one staff member looked like he wanted to be there. The others looked so inconvenienced at our presence, slamming our fries and burgers down as they passed by saying, "here." The burgers were just thrown together with no care... where is the love? They didn't usually serve us a bun that was ice cold. So cold, brought a tear to my eye. The honey-hot sage fries had no sage. The fry portions are about half of what they used to be. The thrill is gone. I must turn my back on you.

I am obsessed with the burgers here. They're always cooked to perfection and have so many delicious options! The service is also really nice too!

First time to this Hop Doddy. The service is good and the personnel are attentive, which is why I give it three (3) stars. However, the food was t lacking. The burger tasted like a brick of salt. Careful those with high blood pressure. It was so salty that my wife and I couldn't enjoy the meal. Someone needs to take a look at how much seasoning they are putting in the mix or on the patty.

Recently, I met friends for an early dinner at Hopdoddy in San Marcos. It was my first time. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The booths are ridiculously comfortable. Giant concert photos adorn the uncluttered walls. Orders are placed at a counter, and later, delivered to the table. A drink station and full bar line opposite sides of the room. Paper towels sit atop each table. We ordered a Goodnight/Good Cause Burger Bowl, Thunderbird, Llano Poblano Burger Bowl, and Parmesan Truffle Fries. My friend is gluten free and spoke with a helpful chef about the order. There was no trouble. The chef fully understood and guided their order. The food arrived quickly. There were so many fries and they were glorious. I don't know how they do it, but the fries are addictive! I usually try 2 fries and move on - but these were simply amazing. The yum doesn't stop there. The bowls have a delicious chopped salad base with a pleasant creamy dressing. Everyone commented on how juiciness of the meat. My bowl, the Goodnight/Good Cause, was delicious! No one was disappointed and my GF friend had a safe and satisfying meal too. I find it noteworthy that everyone working there seems happy. Also, I found the restaurant clean. It's pretty great. I enjoyed it so much that I suggested Hopdoddy to other friends for our next lunch gathering.

The service was mediocre, even over an hour before close for to-go, I was rudely welcomed by an exasperated staff member running the register. I only ordered like 5 things. I asked for my (beef) burger to be "pink" (it was medium-well) my chicken, however, wasn't fried long enough. It was neither crispy nor "hot," just a bland undercooked soggy chicken sandwich even 5-10 minutes after order. It's not "hot Nashville chicken" I've lived and worked there, an utter embarrassment and straight up lie. I asked for it "as hot as possible" and apparently salt counts as a spice at Hopdoddy. 2/10, will never return again. The beer was fine but like, after 5 minutes of waiting, I don't care anymore. Legit threw it all away. First and last time. This is clearly a top to bottom management issue; try one in Austin before going here. I have pictures and videos and a receipt in case you think this is a fake review. Edit: out of spite I took the chicken out of the trash, breaded it with a ton of cayenne, then fried it again in my toaster oven lmao. Came out great once it was cooked and seasoned properly! Maybe they were tired and understaffed but for how slick Hopdoddy's marketing and appearance was, I'd rather waste $15 bucks and an hour in the McDonalds line (although I haven't eaten their slop in over ten years). But yeah total waste of roughly $60. Sorry if I don't tip togo with a gift card, but that's no excuse to mess with my food, if that's the reason everything was messed up and backwards. God forbid you have an allergy and go here! Be warned!!

I took my construction crew to this location multiple times throughout the last two months. Always excellent service from Laura and others on the staff. Food was timely and delicious. Highly recommend for everyone.

The shiny and new Hopdoddy's location located at San Marcos. It's finally open at last, and it's brought a ton of business to the shopping center it's located at. I had the Parmesan truffle fries. This location charges Austin prices. So don't be surprised when you see the prices on the menu. Seven dollar fries and eleven dollar salads. But the fries are just as good as I remember them. The bar area is smaller, and the menu on the wall doesn't show the entire menu. For example, you must pick up a paper menu to see that they offer milkshakes. This location is not crowded... Yet. But it certainly is noisy. As usual, there is a worker going down the line and assigning tables to customers. We need to pick up our own food once it's ready instead of someone bringing it to us. Parking is plentiful. But who knows for how long now that this shopping center has businesses actually worth going to. The demographic is mostly made of college students.

This restaurant is amazing! My food arrived really quickly after I placed my order for sliders and they were very delicious . Staff was extremely helpful and hospitable, and the restaurant was spotless. Definitely recommend visiting this location!

Let me preface this review by saying Hopdaddy restaurant is my one of favorite places to get a hamburger. The service is great, workers are happy and it's clean. I didn't want to give the place a low star so I'm letting everyone know that the Bidi Bidi Bun Bun hamburger is Bidi Bidi Bad Bad.

Very nice employees but food quality has seriously declined. Burgers are really dry now and the buns always feel kinda stale, fries are cold and chewy. Sucks cause I used to love this place and would come here all the time but after being disappointed 5 times in a row ima prolly not come back for another 6 months in hope there's a new manager or something.

My daughter just started at TXST and told us about the happy hour at Hopdoddy. Awesome happy hour specials at the bar and the bartender, Lara, is the best! Get the fried Brussels sprouts and any burger on the menu. You won't be disappointed.

Wow! Hopdoddy San Marcos is amazing! A few weeks ago, I placed a online pick up order at Hopdoddy San Marcos on what appeared to be a very busy Saturday night. When I arrived, my order wasn't quite ready yet. It did not bother me at all, they were slammed, so I waited in the bar area. During my wait, I was approached at least five times by extremely friendly servers apologizing for the delay in my order. I could tell this amazing team was short staffed, but they were all doing the best they could with awesome attitudes and smiles on their faces. I was pretty impressed with the level of service I received already. It took about 15 minutes to get my order and went straight home to devour it, the bag smelled so good so I was very tempted to open it right then and there! I'm practically speechless on how delicious everything was, my burger and fries survived the 15 minute drive home without getting soggy! I ordered the Llano Poblano, switching out the cheese to cheddar. Yum! The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was juicy with all toppings being nice and crisp. You can't go to Hopdoddy without a basket of their awesome garlic - parmesan fries. I was a little concerned that they would be soggy on the drive home but Nope! The fries were perfectly crispy as always. And... added bonus, since I hung out at the bar for a bit, I ordered a Texas Sling to go too! That was an excellent decision. The Sling was so tasty, it's a good thing I only ordered one lol! I look forward to dining in there, excellent vibe, great music and would be a great place to watch a game, or just lay back and chill with excellent service and delicious food. Crisp bun, The burger was nice, but the meal is definitely over priced. The French fries are really skinny but they were crunchy. The service in the restaurant was nice but the burger didn't reach the expectations, considering it's a burger bar
