I love this restaurant and hotel! Everything I've had here has been excellent. The seasonal veggies are my personally favorite, with or without salmon. Collin the bartender is one of the coolest and helpful people I've encountered on my numerous stays and dining experience. All the wait staff are pleasant and the food is really good.I think this place is a hidden gem

This is an update from July 1st . The champagne was a cheap sparkling wine from Spain. The restaurant had no idea as to the menu online . Since there was a cost for the birthday special it was taken off at the front desk. I was offered a Prosecco split for free due to my disappointment. At dinner I ordered the flatbread which was completely different than the cafe menu and online. It was wet and oily. Before ordering I asked to have some grilled chicken put on it which look like a tablespoon of chicken for $5. Only two choices for dessert a fancy brownie or a bread pudding. I chose the bread pudding as I was still hungry and ate less than half not good at all. As a San Diego I will not be going back . This review was June 16th when I made my reservations and was so excited. Just stay here. I came in to take a look around today as I will be celebrating my birthday there and I will write an updated review on the food. I want to thank Rachel staff person for her help regarding the champagne. Really looking forward to my day!

Amazing experience and excellent customer service. The hummus with Pita and cucumber was delicious and our cocktails Bloody orange Margarita and Mai Tai were perfect... thanks to Collin our server. We will return 💕🍹👍🏻

This classic American pool cabana serves up cocktails, mocktails, and all sorts of fried food for locals who know the Lafayette swim club as well as out of towners who are smart enough to stay at this glamour of yesteryear hotel. Expect bartenders and wait staff with years of exp and tattoos to match their attitudes. Ask for a table overlooking the pool, or splurge and get the pool pass so you can partake in the water sport activities. The pool is very kid friendly.

Fun take on the classic chicken sandwich. Bursting with flavor.

I love coming here, it's so relaxing to sit by the pool and enjoy the food. The food is fresh and yummy. Don't come here for a fast meal, you will want to take your time, sip a cocktail and soak up the rays and vibes.

Wow! What a great experience at Hope 46! When you enter the Lafayette Hotel's main entrance (on El Cajon), walk towards the outdoor pool and Hope 46 will be on the left hand side. A delicious breakfast with the eggs and chorizo, the beans and cotija cheese, two corn tortillas, red potatoes with cooked bell peppers and onions, a sliced avocado half and house salsa. I also ordered a pretty tasty Bloody Mary and a "Man-mosa" (a mimosa with a shot of vodka). Alexandra was my server and bartender and she was outstanding! Made the whole experience that much better. Parking might be difficult as it's limited around the area and their are some metered spots.
