"Popular St. Paul brunch spot Hope Breakfast Bar has expanded to Minneapolis with a new location in North Loop Green, near Target Field. Expect the same decadent menu of German chocolate pancakes, wagyu burgers smeared with bacon jam, and bourbon-smoked salmon toast, plus banana bread lattes, spiked lemonades, and boozy coffee cocktails." - Eater Staff

I had been to the St. Paul location the last time I worked in the cities, and decided to try the Minneapolis spot. We made a reservation, just in case, and came in this past Sunday for breakfast. They seated us immediately, by the front window. I was a little hesitant at first because it had been negative temps outside but the vent was right in front of the window and I was plenty warm. My husband ordered his usual cold brew, and the Breakfast Sandwich. The cold brew was good--smooth and dark, just the way he likes it. The Breakfast Sandwich was decent, except the bagel was hard. He ate half of it, and then finished the rest without the bread. Honestly, the dish was good without it but you're paying for bread that you're not eating. I got a Banana Bread Latté and the Cottage Bruschetta Toast with two eggs on the side. Both of my orders were absolutely wonderful! The flavors all complemented each other seamlessly. I thought I would want a hot dish for such a cold day, but the bruschetta was perfect! Our server (Nora?) was fantastic! She was so busy but made sure to check in on us regularly. We never felt forgotten, no matter how many tables she got.

The breakfast sandwich never misses. Tried the hot honey chicken biscuit for the first time and dare I say it’s better than the breakfast sandwich. We all didn’t like the bacon tacos, those can definitely be skipped. but free babycakes on your birthday! (pictured are the “monkey” pancakes). I wish i remembered our waitresses name because she was absolutely fantastic, rounded up to 4 stars for her. Definitely expect the food to come out within 5 minutes of ordering, they are very quick. We were seated in salt & flour which I found a little odd, but no problem at all.

Incredible experience from start to finish at the Hope Breakfast Bar. The atmosphere was fun and festive with a classy undertone even with the coffee being served in a Stanley thermos. The food and service were both top notch. Highly recommend Hope Breakfast Bar!

The food was fine but it was overall a very rushed experience. We had reservations and when we got there we were told we could have the table for an hour— totally fine. However, 5 bites into our food we were given boxes and the check. After 45 minutes since sitting down we were asked to clear the table. The banana bread latte was delicious and the food itself was fine, but ultimately not worth the frantic, rushed service.

Got the avocado toast with a “poached egg” to go. Messy to eat, messy to look at, and the poached egg looked nasty. Not super flavorful so I added tajin. Out of hunger I still ate it but I will definitely never get it again. Likely will never order to go here again, will only dine in.

Came in on their first day open 9/30/2024 and had the Salted Cinnamon Roll Waffles and a seasonal latte. They were both fantastic! Jackie was working both host and serving duties during my visit. She was friendly, attentive, and gave recommendations that I appreciated. I was eating by myself during a break from work and she came over to chat and made me feel welcome.

I was excited to try New Hope Breakfast Bar and was really looking forward to their Pillow Pancakes, which were delicious. However, I was disappointed that they were out of the special syrup and didn’t inform me before serving them with just a small drizzle of what was left. Had I known in advance, I would have ordered something else instead of receiving a half-finished dish. Additionally, the service wasn’t great—I would have appreciated more attentiveness and communication from the staff. While the food was tasty, the lack of transparency and service left me feeling a bit let down. Hopefully, they improve in these areas because the menu itself has a lot of promise!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this new location. I've been to Hope Breakfast Bar at other locations, but this may be my new favorite. I think it's in a beautiful spot with great views of the city, and the joint space with Salt & Flour means plenty of room and comfortable seating for a nice eating experience. The food was on par with the other locations, but I must say that I felt like my food came out much quicker than it ever did before at this location. Everything hot and exactly as ordered. My service gal was also nice and welcoming. Really enjoyed it and would love to visit Salt & Flour in the evening next time.

Yelp
Parking is a little tough because of how centrally located it is but there are meters available. That aside, it's an adorable place with a greenery wall to greet you and we were able to walk in on a Saturday morning and get seated within a few minutes without a reservation. They have a huge menu of food and drinks (both alcoholic and not). I got an Irish coffee that was delicious. I also got the breakfast croissant sandwich that came with a side of hash browns. Great portion for a reasonable price. Take a date here to show a cute atmosphere without breaking the budget!

Yelp
I love the aesthetics of Hope. It's welcoming and such a vibe. The restaurant was also big, compared to the other locations. Bathrooms were also very clean. The food was amazing. They have a huge menu and their drink menu is even more amazing. We tried everything from the breakfast to their coffees to their cocktail menu and it was delicious. We did not feel rushed during peak hours. Service was great!

Yelp
While on our trip to Minneapolis, my wife came across Hope Breakfast Bar. It was amazing! The wait was a bit long, 45 mins or so, but it was well worth it! Locations are only in the Minneapolis area. I had the Breakfast Sandwich. I was skeptical that it would fill me up but it surpassed my expectations. The only thing that I would suggest is to ask customers if they would prefer their bagel toasted. I do not know anything about maintaining the integrity of a bagel so take this with a grain of salt. My wife had their Fried Chicken & Waffles and her plate was empty so it is safe to say that she enjoyed it. My son, 5 years old, ordered the Wild Blueberry Pancakes, he was not a fan and probably would have just enjoyed a plain stack. I tried the pancakes myself and they were good! The place itself was very welcoming with bright colors and some pretty amazing art work. I really liked that they encourage their customers to share their hopes on a card and that their staff prays weekly for those requests. I would definitely recommend Hope Breakfast Bar.

Yelp
I'm so glad this opened in Northloop. This is hands down my current fave brunch spot in Minneapolis. In the morning it gets the sunrise and there's plenty of seating. I love the table booths. Sometimes when it gets super busy they have overflow seating in the salt and flour restaurant. Super nice staff and the menu has great options for anybody.

Yelp
I went to Hope Breakfast for the first time with some friends. I recommend making a reservation because there were only a few options when we looked online. We were sat in the Salt & Flour restaurant which neighbors Hope Breakfast Bar and is a nice spot. This restaurant is right outside of a light rail stop which would make it easy to get to that way or there is street parking that was about 2.50 an hour on a Sunday. There were limited gluten free options and the one I ended up getting was the Blackened Cauliflower & Fried Egg. The cauliflower was good and the hash browns were cooked well but it was a lot richer & heavier than I was expecting it to be. Overall, I wish there were more gluten free options and would try it again for a gluten free pancake or waffle.

Yelp
It is a beautiful new space. It appears they share a space with Salt & Flour. I guess their hours don't overlap. It was easier to get a reservation here than the St. Louis Park site, probably because it's new. Did the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. It was good as usual. My partner did the Hawaiian Bowl. It was tasty, and a big portion. Shared a side of Buttermilk Pancakes. If you're driving, your best bet is to park in the office building next to the restaurant.

Yelp
Cute vibes, great food, fast service! We were lucky we could get a last minute brunch resy here! It's decorated well and honestly is quite a large space! Our waiter was quick to greet us and get our order going. The menu is extensive with lots of options boozy brunch as well as a coffee bar. We tried the butterscotch latte and pistachio cardamom- both delicious and creamy but very sweet so like a pre dessert. They offer milk alternatives which was also nice. For our main we got the cheddar cheese French toast and the salted cinnamon roll waffles. They were able to make accommodations to remove bacon which was nice. But guys, the French toast was sooo good- like literally grilled cheese heaven French toast. The waffles were the perfect mix of sweet and salty. I will say portion sizes were generous so be ready to share or just take home. We definitely could not finish it at all. Overall it's a great place for brunch with all the classics and some news to just hit all the comfort food goals!

Yelp
I just went for the first time recently, and I was impressed! The restaurant is so cute! They have a nice blend of savory and sweet breakfasts. I got the pork belly and biscuit, which was really good if you want something heavy and savory. The pancakes weren't that good, a bit burnt and doughy. But the food, drinks, and vibes were good. Some of the seating can be a bit crowded but otherwise, I liked it!

Yelp
The menu has so many fun and unique options it was hard to decide what to get (which is a good problem to have)! Would definitely recommend the loaded hashbrowns.

Yelp
Well, we definitely have a new favorite brunch place! It's really cute inside with cool art. Everything was SO SO GOOD, and the service was SPOT ON. I had the blackened cauliflower cheesy gratin (YUM!!) and my partner had the stuffed poblano with veggie sausage patties. Both dishes were beyond delicious. The cauliflower tasted like it had fresh garlic in it, and had just the right amount of spice. The stuffed poblanos were sublime inside handmade crispy tortillas, and the coffees were delicious, even the decaf (which is rare). I loved that they came in Stanley thermoses which kept them hot and we could pour ourselves more anytime we wanted. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, crispy and well seasoned. We said to each other when does that ever happen anywhere? We shared the mini donuts for dessert, the chocolate sauce tasted decadent and house made. Halfway through our excellent meal, we said to our server, my god, where have you been all of our lives? And they laughed and said they've only been in this location since September 30. It's closer to our house than their other locations, but you have to pay to park. Meters are your best bet, $1 an hour. We will definitely be back soon. I want to try the mimosa tower when we have more people!

Yelp
I booked a hotel about 10 minutes away from this spot and wanted to try it because of how close it was. It was an easy walk and great location between the baseball stadium and target center. The wait at 12pm was only 25 minutes but turned out to be shorter. The overall ambience in the restaurant was calm and sociable which was great for conversation. The food and service came out incredibly fast less than 10 minutes after we ordered !

Coley B.

Yelp
Our server was fantastic! The breakfast bagel sandwich was delicious! The sauce on the sandwich enhanced the flavor!

Yelp
Underwhelming for the price. Was chaos in the place, and took 25 minutes for my coffee to come. The stuffed pepper was hardly a pepper and basically a plate of melted cheese and an egg. There are much better breakfast places around
