Google
We are officially obsessed with Hopkins Farm Creamery! This is hands down the best ice cream we've ever had! The quality, the flavor, the freshness—everything is just on another level. Their coconut ice cream deserves a special shoutout. It’s SO good that we happily drive 45 minutes one way just to pick up a quart. And we do it regularly. Yes, it’s that amazing. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor; it’s honestly unlike anything else out there. The whole place has such a welcoming, local charm, and the ice cream never disappoints. If you haven’t been yet, trust us - it’s worth the trip. Once you try it, you’ll never want to get ice cream anywhere else! Hopkins Creamery, thank you for making such unforgettable treats. You’ve got lifelong fans in us! 🍦💛

Google
Ah! It was so good! We stopped by on the way back to MD coming from the beach and it was one of the best ice creams we have had in a while - creamy, not too sweet, just perfection! Strongly recommend. And the long line is worth it! P.S. I didn't get to cuddle a baby calf, but I am definitely doing it next time! :)

Google
OMG, the best ice cream find in Delaware. Beyond the very cool dairy farm experience is an amazing ice cream that you’ll love. We got three huge dips of delicious flavors that were beyond our expectations!! We’re definitely putting this on our list of places to visit every time we’re in town!!!

Dennis Wildberger

Google
Excellent ice cream, great selection, delicious milk shakes and friendly staff! What more could you want from a place that serves these special treats? Sometimes the line is long but hang in there; it is well worth the wait!

David Fischer

Google
The ice cream is delicious! But 4 stars because they still use styrofoam cups and plastic spoons. Really? How about environmentally friendly, recyclable items? Think about the amount of never-composting styrofoam cups sitting in landfills! Most ice cream places now use environmentally friendly products.

Vic Spinelli

Google
Love the ambiance of the place, and their ice cream is delicious. The best mint chocolate chip I've ever had. Pistachio is also one of my favorites.

Cheryl Zimmerman

Google
We had the milk shakes and they were delicious! My daughter had the non-dairy ice cream and enjoyed it.

Robin Ratliff

Google
Great ice cream, not cheap, long lines. Survived the kiosk ordering option, wasn't too bad.

Yelp
Listen, we've had a lot of ice cream in the area. It's all decent but this was so good that we couldn't wait to come back. Preferences vary but I'm just not a fan of Hershey or other wholesale selling ice cream spots. That's what a lot of ice cream places are, resellers of other ice cream. NOT HERE! Lines can get wild in the summer but there is plenty of setting and they have massive farm fans above head. It's just nice to sit and enjoy every once in a while. Plus, it's always nice to see the cows and sometimes you might find calves visiting.

Yelp
hopkins farm creamery had non dairy choices which was a winner for me! the service was good and the ambiance was this farm off the grid to go and get ice cream made fresh
google avatar

Kaylee H.

Yelp
Ice-cream was delicious. The banana split was the perfect size for two. Seeing the cows right next door made it cool to see where your ice cream was made from. The service was quick even tho it was a busy afternoon. Definitely will be stopping again!
google avatar

Trish P.

Yelp
I had a scoop of the caramel crunch and a scoop of the peanut butter ice cream. Disappointed, not much flavor in either scoop, not as creamy as I like and bits of ice throughout. The texture was also odd. It just wasn't what I expected in a dairy farm ice cream.
google avatar

Rose I.

Yelp
Fresh and refreshing ice cream flavors at a farm with cows sitting peacefully (and probably proudly) nearby. Great setting for kids and adults alike for quality ice cream
google avatar

Yelp
A must stop for us anytime we are in the area! Waffle cone was so fresh it was still warm!
google avatar

Sherry W.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. I love the location and the atmosphere is great. You can actually visit a few large cows. Obviously this is not where they make the ice cream but it is a great look and feel. Lots of room to park and a play area for the kids. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The waffle cones are good but don't really have a lot of flavor and my black raspberry ice cream was good but the chocolate chip was just okay, not a lot of flavor. I love ice cream so I know I am picky. But there are lots of flavors to choose from so maybe I could make other choices and love them. I would recommend giving it a try and see what you think!!

Yelp
Went to get ice cream during memorial day weekend and it was super busy! There was a long line but it moved relatively quickly and by the time I decided what flavors I wanted I was nearly at the front of the line. I wanted a kiddie scoop (was hoping for 2 flavors and half scoops) and the cashier said I could order two flavors and somehow got charged for MORE than what was listed as a regular double. You can look at my photos but I feel like they don't look bigger than a regular double scoop in fact it looks a little smaller. They also dont put ice cream inside the cone just on top. Be prepared to lick fast otherwise it can melt pretty quickly. The moo cookies were pretty delicious basically an oreo - a classic which you cannot go wrong. I also got the cookie dough which I thought was a safe option but did not get many pieces of cookie dough. I think I got 3 total but I did get hit with a ton of chocolate chips which if you know... can get really hard which was not as pleasant. It was still deliciously creamy and the environment was great. I would go back but would double check the prices or just order a double scoop not a kiddie double scoop!

Yelp
Perhaps I'm from the city but I didn't really enjoy eating my ice cream with the smell of the farm in the background. The smell of the cows and ants crawling towards my kid's ice cream cup was personally not pleasant. We gravitated towards this spot on our vacation in Lewes from the good reviews and the long lines. That line can get long but when you're on vacation, we can afford to wait right? The ice cream was good, not great where I feel the need to go back. I had the caramel salted crunch and though the first few bites were satisfying, the rest was just the sole need to finish my cone before it melts. My kid's orange sherbet was not that good. I was craving Rita's Italian ice when eating it. What I do like about this place is that it's kid friendly. They have animals in the back (not like my kids care to meet them). And the playground was a hit. My kids were so excited to go to the playground that they didn't even want ice cream anymore!
google avatar

Yelp
One of my FAVORITE spots in Delaware. If I'm swinging by Delaware I always try to make a stop here as they have the best ice cream. I love their seasonal apple pie but my absolute favorite is their strawberry cheesecake and they actually have pieces of cheesecake!
google avatar

Erika H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with the farm and cows and play area for the kids to burn off the sugar rush! It's been a few years since I first ate here and since then they really expanded, modernized and cleaned-up the place. I agree with another reviewer that the ice cream itself was just so-so in that it lacked flavor.
google avatar

Marcella A.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to come here and check it out. I only go to ice cream places if I know it's homemade. We were surprised that it was constantly always packed there. We arrived at the right time before there was a line. I decided to get the honey lavender ice cream, and wow, it was very good. My husband decided to get the cookie and cream. The prices were reasonable priced as well. We would definitely come back here next time. I would highly recommend coming here and checking them out.

Yelp
This is place will get a repeat visit. Was my food cheat day and I wanted a shake. They weren't crowded for a change and took a chance. Great shake! I got a large strawberry / butter pecan milkshake. It was good! Came quick. Truly was a treat.

Hanna E.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here recently for the first time and we absolutely loved their ice cream. They offer quite a few flavors here but I would highly recommend their mint chocolate chip milkshakes if you like those. The service was good and despite it being a summer day it wasn't too crowded. The ice cream is great to eat but if you don't want to smell cows the whole time you're eating I would highly recommend sitting in your car and eating it. But other than that it's a wonderful ice cream place and my boyfriend and I will definitely plan on going back one day!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream and environment! We ordered the cow pie and cappuccino delight. Both were very tasty! Our son enjoyed the cows and we did as well. Plentiful portions and awesome variety of flavors!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
I stopped by at this creamery after having dinner. I had been here before and I knew it was good so I stopped again. Their ice cream is amazing. I got two scoops, one of them being coffee and it was on a waffle cone. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious ice cream! Had the chocolate with chocolate sprinkles in a cup and the strawberry with chocolate sprinkles in a cone. Friendly staff, great location. Definitely will be back!

Terry C.

Yelp
Best ice cream place . Sometimes they run out of basic flavors especially during prime time here. A must try for yr experience! Long lines during the summer months but line moves fast. Creamy lots of flavors. Situated in a farm has children playground area .
google avatar

Tina G.

Yelp
My in laws live down the street from this place and come here regularly and I finally got to go with them, but unfortunately it was on a holiday weekend. When we got there, there were about 30 people in line. We only waited about 15 minutes to order, but then we waited 15-20 minutes for our ice cream. They had about 10 kids working inside but only 1 person taking orders. I get it, it's Memorial Day, and the workers looked like high school students, but our ice cream was starting to melt by the time we got it. As far as the ice cream goes though, it was excellent. Very creamy, and it didn't taste artificial. The scoops were huge and the price was very reasonable and so many flavors to choose from! There's a playground for the kids to play on and some picnic tables out front. A great place to hang out on a hot day with some ice cream!
google avatar

Roxanne O.

Yelp
Even though there's always a line, I'm told, the line on a Friday afternoon wasn't too bad and we got our ice creams quickly. I got the banana chocolate ice cream with their homemade cone, which was still warm. It was so good, I ate it all without noticing and all of a sudden it was gone!
google avatar

Allen O.

Yelp
The ice cream here is very good. Service is fast and they have plenty of seating along with a playground for the children.
google avatar

Scot B.

Yelp
Fun place to take the family for ice cream. Line can get quite long at night in the summer. Tons of flavors to choose from, you can't go wrong.

Yvette M.

Yelp
Prices are a bit higher than other fresh dairy ice cream farms. I was disappointed when I got the No Sugar Added Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream :( The ice cream was good but the chemical tasting cherries ruined the flavor! I highly recommend that they use real cherries as the price of $4.75 for single scoop would allow for it. Thanks for trying , anyway.
google avatar

Nicolette P.

Yelp
Hopkins has the best ice cream in south Delaware! The service is as quick as it can be, considering that they're always packed! There are places to sit outside (far or near the cows) and a jungle gym for kids.

Carol N.

Yelp
The food was delicious and was perfect. The service provided was excellent, fast, and did not take a long time for us to get. The cone holders were great for us so the ice cream did not drip any where like it would normally do. This was a 10/10 service and food I would definitely recommend this to everyone in the summer to cool off or just for a snack any time.

Camdyn O.

Yelp
Best ice cream I have ever had. The whole vibe was absolutely amazing. It was so cool to see the cows there. Highly recommend the black raspberry! There is a self service kiosk that a lot of people weren't using if you're tech savvy and don't want to wait in line!
google avatar

Robin R.

Yelp
The ice cream is really good, my problem is the price it's no longer affordable for a family 13.50 for a quart of ice cream is 2 much I will rather buy ice cream at the supermarket even though I prefer Hopkins . We bought a quart of your ice cream at a local store and paid 11.50 cheaper than the creamery. How that
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Hopkins Farm Ice Cream is a summer tradition. Great ice cream great selection of flavors, worth the wait.

Robert K.

Yelp
My wife and I had great Sundays at this place. We were visiting from Willow grove, PA and found this on ice cream venues. Great place. Great ice cream. Many flavors. Large seating area. Our dog loved it. Remmy was able to see a cow for the first time. We explained that she didn't bark. She said Mooooo. Remmy was confused. Anyway We highly recommend Hopkins dairy for ice cream Bob , Ellyn and Remmy

Yelp
If you're driving around Lewes and have a hankering for ice cream, just look for the big white solo with paintings of ice cream cones. You have found a place that has some excellent ice cream. Hopkins Farm Creamery and Green Acres Farm have been owned and operated by the same family for four generations since 1942. In 2008 they opened up an on-farm creamery to serve up ice cream treats. We walked around the place and saw cows hanging out in one of the barns. I read that they also have some pigs, goats, and a horse, which we didn't see. So with all those animals, a playground, and ice cream this would be a cool destination for the kiddies. They sell around 20 ice cream flavors available in cones, sundaes, floats, shakes, pints and quarts. I had a cone with Chocolate Banana Walnut ("Our chocolate ice cream blended with banana puree and walnut pieces"). The flavor was terrific, but for whatever reason, it melted faster than any ice cream cone I ever had in my life. Seriously, within a few minutes I had molten ice cream cascading over the top of the cone and down the pointy tip of the cone -right through the paper holder. My hand was a mess, as was my shirt. Must be something with the ice cream formula?

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this local ice cream place! If you're looking for a really good dairy ice cream to take your family or friends, this is it! Their flavours are all delicious. You can't go wrong with any of them, honestly. You just know when it's a good ice cream and it comes from happy cows when you can smell that really good cream! You know what I mean? LOL!It's nothing like it. This place is now a must for us when we come to Rehoboth Beach every summer and it's always worth the drive. S/N: they did get rid of their cows. We were a 'bit' sad about it b/c I think the kids and adults that didn't mind the smell really did enjoy seeing the animals around (maybe minus the smell lol). But the place def smell alot better now though.

Robert L.

Yelp
Best ice cream locally! Cappuccino Delight is for us coffee lovers. Many other flavors to choose from.
google avatar

Al G.

Yelp
Great ice cream. As we pulled up to the farm there was a very long line of customers. The service was so good it moved so fast it made the ice cream experience wonderful.

Larry P.

Yelp
Hopkins Farm Creamery's malted milk shakes are the best that I've ever had. They are our go-to ice cream shop to and from the beach.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
Maybe I went to Hopkins Farm Creamery with an extremely high expectation because the ice cream was good, but it wasn't anything spectacular nor blew my mind away. We've had a few flavors: mint chocolate chips, coffee, and chocolate. The chocolate was slightly disappointing as it lacked the richness and underwhelming chocolate flavor; the mint chocolate chips weren't very minty; but the coffee was pretty good as it wasn't too sweet nor bitter. Will I go back to Hopkins when I'm in the area..? Probably not. I had some pretty good ice cream on the boardwalk, so it's not necessary for me to take a hike to go there. Side Notes: 1. There are a variety of flavors to choose from, and most of them were available when we visited in June 2022. 2. There is a pretty decent sized play area for kids---with two big wooden play structures and swings. My toddler had a bit of a trouble accessing the structures and wasn't very little-kid friendly, but appreciated the area! 3. There is not a lot of places to sit to enjoy the ice cream, so you may have to take them to-go, or eat in the car. 4. They make their own waffle cones--and they were warm and delicious! 5. Since we got out ice creams in a cup, when asked if we can have a cone in addition to the cup--we were asked to pay 25 cents or a dollar for a waffle cone. I didn't mind paying the dollar for a waffle cone, but was taken back a little when asked to pay for a cone on the side since all the ice cream parlors I've been to never charged for it. Price: $$$

Yelp
I am roaming around southern Delaware and can't resist ice cream places associated with a farm. Hopkins was the second such place I stopped at and ,in my opinion, the better of the two. I had the pistachio ice cream. The first pleasant surprise is that it actually had pistachios. The second surprise is that the pistachio ice cream is white instead of green. I have no complaints about the ice cream. It was creamy, sweet and the portions were just right. I loved everything about this place . It's a great people watching place too
google avatar

Yelp
First a bit of history, Green Acres Farm has been owned and operated by the Hopkins family for four generations. Hopkins Farm Creamery opened in 2008 and has been creating great ice cream ever since! Hopkins Farm Creamery now offers covered seating, bathrooms, and a viewing door where you can see the ice cream being made creating that special and pleasant ambiance. Despite not having milking cows of their own anymore they do make all their own ice cream utilizing the product of another dairy farm. This made fresh ice cream has gone from mixer to the shop within 48 hours, so you know you are getting the freshest homemade ice cream and sherbet selection anywhere on Delmarva! But don't be disappointed if you wanted to see some cows they do have some on-site for your viewing pleasure! After a long hot day at the beach or if you are out for a drive with the family this is a great place to stop in and grab a sweet treat! With great flavors like Apple Pie, Black Raspberry, and Butter Pecan, you have to check out the menu for all the great flavors, and for those who are diabetic, they do have no-sugar-added chocolate and vanilla. And even if you are lactose intolerant, they do have some Italian Ice for you as well. The creamery has been a family favorite stop for us whenever we are at the beach and sometimes it's just nice to take a special trip for great ice cream! The staff is always friendly just be prepared to wait in line, the ice cream is a local favorite also so there are always plenty of people lined up outside! So, if you are looking for a place to grab a cold treat with the family, with reasonable prices you won't be disappointed if you stop in at Hopkins Farm Creamery (Green Acres Farm), located at the intersection of Dairy Farm Road and Route 9 in Lewes, Delaware!

Yelp
Delicious homemade ice cream and nice people , really fun in line seeing and meeting people everyone is happy buying ice cream

Yelp
5 stars for the amazing ice cream. There are rumors that the family is selling the creamery I hope this does not happen. This is by far the best ice cream in the tri-state area and Delaware that I know of. The ice cream is very creamy and smooth and there are a variety of ice cream options as well as vegan Italian/water ice. I have tried most of the flavors and my favorites include: mint chocolate chip, moo cookies (cookies and cream), butter brickle, cow pie, cappuccino, strawberry and blueberry cheesecake. So actually all of them are my favorites. The fresh, in house waffle cones are a must try. If you're lucky enough you will get a fresh hot waffle cone freah off the waffle cone maker with your cold ice cream - you better eat it quick before it melts! Be a tourist and take a photo next to the plastic cow. You can also have your little ones enjoy the mini playground to let out their sugar rush before piling back in the car. Beware: if you ask for a waffle cone ice cream to go (separated in a cup) the amount they give you is abysmal aka worse than terrible - in my post I show the cup and this is supposed to be their 2 scoop ice cream. Lesson learned you must order and eat the ice cream there. Also in the summer months be sure to avoid going in the evening before they close shop because the line can be as long Black Friday shoppers at Best Buy!

Yelp
Freshest of fresh ice cream with wonderful flavors!! To be honest I can't remember the exact flavor I got but it was absolutely delicious. I actually got a sundae that was loaded with whipped cream, caramel sauce and hot fudge. I'd recommend getting the hot fudge on the side so that it doesn't melt all of your ice cream too fast!
google avatar

Hegne G.

Yelp
This Ice cream place is soo good!!! You get big scoops with great price. Ice cream flavors are fantastic and so taste. I definitely recommend to check it out when you close by !!!

Yelp
I recently went down to the beach to celebrate Labor day with my family, and of course I couldn't end my trip without trying the famous Hopkins Ice cream. I will start off with this: you will be in line for a LONG time. Even before labor day weekend , I drove past and saw the line curving around the building. I waited in line to order for maybe 20-25 minutes, then I actually waited for my food for about another 20-30 minutes. It was absolutely delicious, but I wouldn't wait in that long of a line again. They are in serious need of updating their order pick up area. It was absolute chaos. Everyone was just standing around, you could barely hear the lady announcing number orders. If there was a small or even medium sized line then I say 100% go for it. The pricing is right, and the Ice cream really is delicious. I just wasn't prepared to spend an hour and a half total just for a cone of ice cream.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Ice cream was good but service needs an upgrade. We so want to make this a 4th of July weekend tradition but ice cream shouldn't take 45-60 minutes. It took us 30 minutes to place our order and the. Another 20 to get the order. The system you have doesn't work. Don't just keep doing it that way because that's the way you have always done it. Think outside the box and figure a way to keep the lines down. Seemed like they had plenty of workers but an odd system. 1 person taking orders and then several people making the orders. Maybe take a visit to other ice cream shops and see how they do it. Convenient location but losing a lot of business. We saw several people get out of line and leave and others just drive away. Nice seating area with cows and corn hole. Just need someone to empty trash cans. Both were overflowing.

N K.

Yelp
Great ice cream and friendly service. They were so busy - but still provided service with a smile . High quality ice cream for sure
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
I'm sorry to write this but was hoping for a real fresh, natural tasting ice cream from this farm. The flavors we got all tasted artificial. The ice cream was not very creamy or smooth at all, and had a bit of an icy/chunk type texture. Did not taste fresh or good at all...which is hard for me to say about ice cream. The cherry ice my son ordered he wouldn't eat much off. I tried it and it has the worst artificial/chemical taste-- much more so than other ices. Prices aren't cheap..the line was long... Just was hoping for much better quality.

Ej J.

Yelp
The ice cream was excellent, all favors we brought tasted rich and small batch made. There was a line, 20 minute wait to be served on a July Tuesday evening. The parking was a little messy as expected. Three individual single scoops servings was less the $20.
google avatar

Jay E.

Yelp
Did not taste like fresh ice cream. Too sweet and seems outsourced. Restroom was infested with mosquitoes. Disappointed because I had high hopes and expected a good experience
google avatar

Dana B.

Yelp
Best ice cream shop in Rehoboth Beach area. Lots of flavor choices and the waffle cone is delicious!!! Treat yourself to a triple scoop!!!

Yelp
We had the cow pie and salted caramel crunch milkshakes. We said hello to Candace the cow in the side where they have picnic tables and benches. Five stars for Candace the cow. She's a good girl. Say hi to her for us when you stop by Hopkins Farm. Creamery.
