"The Hopper & Burr brick-and-mortar is relatively unmarked, as it resides within Orange County’s first skyscraper. Within that historic building is a coffee powerhouse, operated by four brilliant baristas who really love espresso and all that it’s capable of. For a sample of what Hopper & Burr can do, the Litmus Tasting Flight is ideal, while the Campfire Cappuccino offers a multi-sensory experience. Come for the coffee but stay for the sustainably produced food items, like the ricotta toast, which is topped with vegan ricotta made using the remnants of house-made almond milk." - Jordan Morosco

Continuing my Flat White Tour of LA / OC - Hopper and Burr is a great discovery. Love the chocolate nutty flavor notes of the roast - just my style. Pastry is delivers on the artisanal vibes. Love the decor - sparse minimal but set with. The Latin Quarters of Santa Ana. They just did everything right. Beautiful Sunday Coffee vibes.

If caffeine is your religion, Hopper & Burr is your temple. Nestled in Santa Ana’s historic downtown, this coffee shop is a coffee lover’s dream. The first sip of their drip coffee transported me. The beans are clearly the star of the show, roasted and brewed with such precision you’d think they had their own Ph.D. The flavor is rich yet nuanced, with subtle notes that evolve with every sip. No over-the-top syrups or distracting gimmicks here—just pure, unadulterated coffee perfection. The aesthetic mirrors the coffee philosophy: modern, minimal, and intentional. Clean lines, soft light, and a vibe that whispers “stay awhile.” It’s a space that doesn’t compete with your cup but instead amplifies the experience. If you’re in Santa Ana and care even slightly about great coffee, Hopper & Burr is an absolute must. Come for the brew, stay for the vibe, and leave wondering how you’ll ever go back to your Keurig.

Extremely good coffee. Litmus shows a great range of the beans they carry. The roasters at the time were very good. Despite what an earlier review said, they do have open WiFi for working.

Google
This shop is absolutely phenomenal. I travel a lot, and one of the key components to each trip is locating fantastic coffee shops to try. I think Hopper & Burr might be my favorite coffee shop in California. I ordered an iced almond milk latte and an espresso tonic, both with ingredients made in shop. I regret not grabbing an espresso shot while I was at it, because the other drinks blew me away. The espresso was so rich and flavorful in both of my drinks. The baristas know their craft, and talking a little shop I learned that they rotate through menus and different beans, and it just feels like a very creative shop in terms of what I look for in espresso specifically. This location is an absolute gem.

Great coffee, plenty of food options and coffee flights as an option is really nice. Good coffee, lots to try.

Google
I've had this coffee shop on my list of places to visit while in the Los Angelesish area so we had to stop by! We always love when the barista gives us two sparkling waters when we order espresso. It's a nice touch and testament for service. The campfire latte was delicious with its smoked sea salt! Espresso was on point and yummy! I just realized that this review was 6 years ago. Currently visiting in 2025 and this coffee shop is still just as amazing as it was in 2019. Their toast options are delicious!

Google
My sis took me out in the morning to this place. Everyone minds their own business & the atmosphere is very chill. The coffee is so freaking good, i got the mocha drink, and she got the pumpkin spice latte. this is a win win for me cuz im obsessed with coffee :3

Google
I've only been to Hopper & Burr twice, both experiences were great and in considerably different ways, sending the shop straight to the list of my favorite coffee shops in OC. When I first visited Hopper & Burr, I was impressed by its bright, slick, and simple space. Lots of light and air between the big windows, high ceilings, and white walls, and just a couple of details so that the place doesn't look sterile. The coffee counter, which has only the bare minimum of equipments, extends to the sitting area as a bar with wide counter space. I had a Litmus, a tasing flight that is beautifully presented and tastes excellent. I also enjoyed the avocado toast, the sourdough was extra crunchy and the pancetta made it extra tasty. I had thought Hopper & Burr is a minimalist coffee shop that pours a good cappuccino, then I discovered their understated seasonal menu during my second visit. Nothing about the menu screams I'm special!, not even the prices, but I immediately knew when I got the Cavendish. Instead of a generic flavored latte that I had expected, the banana milk espresso drink is a meticulously garnished mocktail with a creamy, slightly foamy, almost sparkly texture. I've never had something like that. Later I had a Horchata Slushie for a second round. This time the name is self-explanatory but it led me to another discovery. Different drinks at Hopper & Burr are served in different vessels: collins, rocks, sundae glasses, even something that looks like an Easter Island head sculpture. The amount of creativity and attention to details in these drinks contrast starkly with the modest way they are introduced and the shop's casual atmosphere. In a market where special drinks are often gimmicks, copy cats, or not so special at all, Hopper & Burr's unassuming creations are the real deal. Two visits in two months obviously don't make me a regular, but the small and stable team already looks familiar to me. Everyone behind the bar looks happy and proud of what they serve, yet never overly so. I can't wait for the next visit.

Yelp
Hopper & Burr is the BEST coffee in Santa Ana. There: I said it. It's a stark environment compared to Hidden House, but the espresso drinks are simply next level. Like the best cocktail bar in town, Hopper & Burr serve a small menu of thoughtful, different, and wonderful-tasting COFFEES. From the simple perfection of their lattes to the toasty-caramelized campfire or the eucalyptus-scented lavender, all the drinks are "stop-and-take-a-moment-for-yourself" good. The iced drinks and the alcoholic specials--however adventurous--are simply at the level you'd find at the best cocktail bars... pretty much anywhere. I love this place. I hope you will too.

Yelp
This downtown Santa Ana gem is a haven for design enthusiasts and serious coffee connoisseurs alike. The minimalist aesthetic sets the stage for meticulously crafted brews, ensuring the spotlight remains firmly on the quality in your cup. Think clean lines, sleek surfaces, and a touch of Scandinavian coolness. It's an environment that invites focus and savoring the sensory experience of your coffee. Hopper & Burr boasts a curated selection of coffee beans, rotating through offerings from five esteemed roasters across the country. Latte (12 oz.- $5.50) - The in-house simple syrup added a touch of sweetness without overpowering the smooth, rich coffee flavor. Not a hint of bitterness to be found - a testament to the barista's skill and the high-quality beans. While the coffee selection is the star of the show, Hopper & Burr offers a limited selection of food options. For a quick bite, their house-made pastries or savory toast options should hit the spot. Overall: Hopper & Burr is a must-visit for coffee aficionados seeking a minimalist haven with expertly brewed, top-notch coffee. The friendly and knowledgeable baristas add another layer of charm to this delightful spot. My only minor quibble is that the overall beverage selection, aside from the seasonal offerings, felt a touch limited. However, the quality and focus on exceptional coffee make it a forgivable misstep.

Yelp
Amazing!!! The shop has a modern and minimalist design and is located in downtown Santa Ana -- a great place for foodies! I recommend having lunch at nearby Lola Gaspar or the 4th St. Market and dropping by here for a coffee for the full experience. I had an iced coffee and it was perfect. My wife had the spring offering "honey" which was coffee with burnt honey and fenugreek and she said it was the best coffee she had ever had! I tasted it and I was impressed too -- I assumed it would be overly sweet but it had a nice balance. Our barista was great and a coffee nerd like me. I looked back at old Yelp menu photos and their rotating seasonal menu is so inventive -- I can't wait to come back and sample a few more of their offerings!!!

Yelp
Best coffee around. I hope they keep the cucumber coffee, but I know they'll do good regardless. This + vacation bar are the perfect couple.

Yelp
I keep seeing this cafe on yelp, and decided I'd drop by for a caffeine pick me up. There is lots of metered street parking in this area. The interior is clean and spacious with tables towards the back. I came in and was greeted warmly by the barista. Their menu is simple and focuses on the classics. After looking through the menu, I decided on an iced almond milk latte with brown sugar. The roast is light here, giving the espresso a crisp, acidic taste. The latte had a hint of sweetness as well. Overall very enjoyable, a good place to grab and go!

April C.

Yelp
Great looking coffee shop. Very cool. Barista was very sweet and helpful. I couldn't pass up the cardamom pastry (sorry, no pic) which was recommended- so good!! The coffee is smooth and very satisfying Wish it was in a better location, but once I found parking, all was good.

Sanny C.

Yelp
I am so glad to find this fascinating place. The coffee here was unique. You can't find such flavor anywhere else. I came here for the campfire. It wasn't avail because it was their seasonal item. The barista told me it would be avail during fall time. They do rotations often. If you like something, you better get it as many times as you can before it disappears lol Today, it was their Nico series, which mainly focus on orange/citrus flavor. I ordered Nico 2, which was coffee, butter, cinnamon , and orange oil. I got this right when I read ORANGE OIL. It came out pretty short, so I asked the batista to pick an additional drink for me. He chose Nico 3 on ice. I wonder why he didn't fill the cup all the way pshhhh lol Nico 2 had a very unique taste to it. A taste you can't really explain. You gotta try it yourself to understand lol When I saw Nico 3, I seriously didn't think I would like it. I was completely wrong. I liked it even more than #2 lol Nico 3 was coffee, whey, cinnamon mixed with orange juice. Imo, it tasted like a Thai lemon tea with coffee. It was so good. Like having a party in your mouth. It was blasting with all sorts of flavors. It also smelled really good. I wonder what they will offer next... Customer service was A+ RR avail Meter parking avail

Yelp
It room me a while to check out this place because downtown parking scares me but i found a parking lot on the corner of 5th st and Main that is free on certain weekday hours so yay! The barista was so kind and generous in explaining everything to us! I got the cafe nico which was just a bit small for $6 but so delicious! It had a espresso, cinnamon, orange, cream combo that was a great balance of flavors and not too creamy or sweet. I just wish it was bigger. It was barely half a cup We got the ricotta toast and it had pickled persimmons !! such a great seasonal toast! loved it! The inside was not too crowded for a Monday morning. It's not the most spacious but there is some room if you get there early and it was a perfect place to catch up with a friend or get some work done. Amazing coffee, food and vibes

Yelp
Parking: 8/10. Located in downtown Santa Ana. Shop is right next to a parking structure! Drinks: Eggnog Capp 10/10. Tastes egg-actly as described. Simple Phrase: 10/10. Subtle hazelnut taste. It gets very sweet towards the end of the drink so I would personally mix it next time. These drinks come in hot options only. Drinks are unique and smooth, despite the smaller sized portions. It's more for the sip and chill kind of drink. They only offer whole milk and almond milk. Limited adjustments in order to stay true to the creation of the drinks so I respect that. Atmosphere: 9/10. Super chill people and barista. It feels like a bougie bar because they "close out" the tab before leaving. Some seating areas and minimalist style. They also offer Colossal bread, which is awesome!

Jake C.

Yelp
Very minimalistic interior that is nice and relaxing. Barista was super welcoming and friendly. I got the "Honey - FFWDI#3" coffee and a pastry which were both delicious. Love how they serve beer and wine as well.

Andy V.

Yelp
1. The coffee actually tasted like root beer! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with few tables to do work! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my drink! 4. There is a nearby parking structure that has free two hours on the weekend! Note: The coffee spot has a single gender-neutral bathroom! Photo: Root Beer Coffee

Yelp
Good solid coffee shop serving their latte with the choice of raw grass fed whole milk which I've never seen anywhere else. The only thing I would say based on personal preference only is that their look is a little TOO minimalist. It comes across cold and uninviting.

Jenny B.

Yelp
Coffee was 7/10 and pastry's 9/10. We did get the fresh morning batch of pastries that had just been delivered

Yelp
I had higher expectation for this place because it popped up on various sites whenever I did a search for best coffee places in OC, but my experience was just ok. I hate the traffic and parking in this area so I didn't even feel like coming out, but decided to give it a try this morning. Traffic was pretty light since it was Sunday, and I arrived around 9 a.m. There's a paid parking structure right next to this building and several metered parking along the street. I was lucky enough to find street parking without a meter. It's located on the bottom floor in a historic building, right on the corner of 4th & Broadway. Inside looks more spacious than it is due to large windows surrounding the entire shop. It's set up almost like a bar with L-shaped counter seating with barista(s) behind it. It's set up in a way to provide better interaction and engagement with customers. I ordered Litmus, which is a tasting flight of filter coffee, espresso, and cappuccino. Filter coffee and cappuccino were smooth and pretty good, although I would've preferred a bolder flavor. However, this was just due to selection of beans for the day and not due to any extraction issue. The beans were more on light to medium roast level, so it was expected. Espresso, on the other hand, was way too acidic. I also ordered its espresso tonic, which tasted quite different from other espresso tonics I had in the past. This place uses its own tonic water so not sure if it was from that, or if it was due to selection of beans. Flavor was sophisticated and intriguing at first, but had a bitter, medicinal taste at the end. It almost tasted like boiled rind from an orange. Since it rotates its beans, I may come back and try again in the future because it has other interesting items on the menu, such as coffee/espresso drinks made with housemade cola, fermented pineapple, and other unusual concoctions.

Britney S.

Yelp
Coffee is smooth and nice, food is ok. The place is minimal and uninviting(too minimal for me) the service is ok. One thing I really disliked, Too many GNATS flying around. 3 stars because the coffee is pretty good if you just get it to-go.

Loren L.

Yelp
Not many coffee shops still serve up coffee for self proclaimed snobs. There are coffee shops aplenty but few who actually do it well. Hopper and Burr don't sell "Strong"coffee (ie: burnt, over roasted beans ala Charbucks) If your jam is an iced latte like most Gen Z/Millennials often only order, then move along, go to Charbucks so that you don't crowd the line. The aesthetics very clean and minimalist with wood elements that are conducive to hanging out or studying. Their seasonal rotation of drinks are quite delicious so make sure to try them or you will have to wait a year for it to come back in menu! If you are looking for a solid coffee shop that does it right, look no further!

Sara A.

Yelp
Love this place! Great coffee, both bomb coffee beans and well made. Make sure to stop by if you're in the area. There's a parking lot near it that has free short term parking and metered parking around.

Celine D.

Yelp
First impressions: 1. Beautiful store front 2. The feeling when upon entering is quite odd. You see this great majestic storefront with great doors and floor to ceiling windows. And then you enter and it's white and cold. Kind of iconic?? 3. Menu was not even facing the door. It was more off to the side so to view it, you would walk into the seating area and kind of view it and then walk to the cashier... and then order. Odd location to fit a TV Menu. Menu itself, the selection is very unique and interesting! Drink: 4/5 Eggnog Capp. Coffee flavor was good. It was a savory coffee with a hint of spice. Cutest cappuccino cup as well. Ambiance: 4/5. Stuck well with a theme. Minimally decorated with an industrial theme with all white and black accents. Right when you walk in, there's a wall that displays their wine selection and beans as well as other materials. Great windows that provide a view into downtown. Cool bar situation as well as seating along the windows. Service: 5/5. No complaints. It looks like the baristas are well acquainted with the customers. They seem to know their stuff and get right to it. Other comments: - Music was low volume so it's a great study place, volume wise (they played The Strokes a lot!) - A majority of the seating do not have back rests, so if you plan to stay long, there is only 4 tables that are booths/chair backs inside. - Since it's in downtown, parking is pretty difficult if you don't like parking in general. If you come early enough, you can park along the streets in free parking. There is also a parking garage behind the building which is a very short walk (within 3 minutes) - I came from 9am-12pm and there was many people coming in and out of the store. Those who stayed in the establishment did work along the bar, or had casual conversations along the windows.

Evelyn O.

Yelp
If you're an oatmilk fan you they only have almond milk. Coffee tasted great! A place to recommend . Quick service. Coffee is smooth not too sweet.

Jackie P.

Yelp
I loooooooove hopped and burr. Been going here for years bc it's close to my house, and it hits every time. They have such unique flavors, I can't wait for the summer drinks! I usually get their house made almond milk but realized their regular milk is raw milk and have been getting it ever sinceeeee! Their service is warm and welcoming, and super quick. I'm usually in and out in 3-4 mins. Vibes are good, bar area has a couple outlets. It does echo here so if you're on the phone I wouldn't risk it haha.

Veronica S.

Yelp
Hopper and Burr has been on my must try list for a few years. So I was in the area yesterday and decided it was time. I walk in with 2 companions talking highly of how excited I am to try it! I've worked in specialty coffee shops for 3 years and am usually the designated coffee spot chooser of my friend group. We walk in and it's not crazy busy, just a few people inside. Minimalistic is the best way to describe the interior, and that's cool! If that's your thing. Personally, it reminds me of a padded ward; no personality no anything just...bland. But I digress! I'm a sucker for oat lattes and decided on 3 for my girls and I. The layout is a bit confusing, I guess you have to order with the barista at the machine but I wasn't too sure. We stood there for a good 5 minutes with nobody greeting us, nobody saying I can help you over here whenever you're ready, no "let me know if you have any questions," nothing! So I ask and the girl at the machine says I can order with her. Perfect. I asked if they had honey and she said yes they have a honey latte. Perfect x2! So I order 3 iced honey oat lattes. She says their alternative milk will be almond only. Yikes! Now I'm not lactose intolerant and actually do like regular milk, but honey's just better with oat. So that's clearly not going to work so I said aw man okay! thank you so much! She didn't bother looking at me after that I WAS considering ordering a regular oat latte but the dismissiveness of the barista and pretentiousness of the atmosphere inside was enough to convince me to spend my money elsewhere. Customer service is key! After working in coffee shops in both LA and OC County, I understand your attitude and the customer's experience is everything! Not that they'll always be right but I think I was being pretty nice Don't expect a tip or people to want to return if you're not going to be putting in some effort yourself. I'll stick to Made, Smoking Tiger, Coffee Code, and The Merchant ty! Edit: I asked where their single origin espresso was from and she looked so lost and instead told me what their house blend was. Huh??

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I enjoyed studying here for a good chunk of my day! Seats seem like they can be limited, but we had no problem on a Sunday evening. The shop is absolutely adorable! I love the aesthetic, it honestly makes me feel so comfortable. Service was great! There was only one guy, but he was very patient with answering our questions and really displayed his knowledge about the drinks. Watching him make them was pretty entertaining. Drinks are super unique and specialty. Drink ratings: Nico #2 - 9/10, Mocha 8.5/10, Hull & Oaks 8.5/10. I usually get mocha when I go to coffee shops and it was one of the better ones I've had. Final note, drinks and food can be a bit pricey, and expect to pay ($5) for parking!

Danya S.

Yelp
So glad I came across this coffee shop while I was in the area!! It's a simple, modern coffee house in Santa Ana. I ordered the Peppermint Mocha and it's probably one of the best ones I have ever had. The Barista was so kind and answered all of our questions.

Emily W.

Yelp
Hopper & burr is like a cocktail bar for coffee lol. They have seasonal drink choices. This time it was the Nico series which is why it felt like a cocktail bar. I can't remember which Nico it was but it had a touch of cinnamon, a creamy top and an orange peel expressed on to the surface like an old fashioned. It was so good. They also have typical lattes with alternative milk options. I loved the clean interior shop with ample seating. It's on an unassuming corner in downtown Santa Ana. There was a lot of construction going around so parking is a bit annoying but that's normal for this area. Staff were so friendly. I was looking at the selection of coffee beans and wines. My friend told me she likes getting the wines here because they are all natural wines and had unique offerings like an "orange" wine. Would love to come back to try that.

Amy A.

Yelp
Came across this cute coffee location. My daughter said it was meant to be since our last name is HOPPER ! Coffee was delicious!

Wayne N.

Yelp
Super friendly neighborhood coffee shop with great minimalistic vibes. Loved the chit chat with the baristas and seems like they remember people. I tried two things over a couple of days and both were very good. The iced mocha is classic and it's perfect for those who want that chocolate kick. They also have seasonal drinks and love the creativity. While they for psl for fall, I really liked the campfire Capp they had, which incorporates smoke and maple flavors in a cappuccino. Very unique, with I feel like I see way less of in craft coffee since it's mostly just focus on beans and brewing technique vs trying to be inventive with drinks.

Roberta B.

Yelp
Love the cappuccino along with avocado toast that was amazing The ricotta and jam Toast was perfectly sweet. The only thing I would recommend is steak knives to cut this beautiful thick crunchy toast.

Sherry T.

Yelp
One of the most advanced cafes in So Cal for fourth wave (yes, fourth) coffee. I got this pineapple fermented drink that had a coffee flavor; it was a crazy drink that deserved to be more than $8! If you mixed it with a dark alcohol, you could have charged $15. We also got the iced coffee latte; I've never had a slushee type of coffee. I wish I could try all the drinks. The design inside is very minimalistic. I wish this place was in a better location. The garage a few blocks away had free parking for the weekend. However, this downtown spot is very ghetto and on the start of gentrification. I wish this cafe was in a place with easy direct parking.

Sarina L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hip coffee shop to people watch or read or get some work done, this is a place for you! I love the coffee and chai here- and if I get risky I'd do the dirty chai. Their seasonal drinks are always nice. I've studied here a couple times. And it's been rly welcoming.

Lauren A.

Yelp
BEST COFFEE SHOP EVER OMG!!! My favorite thing is that they have raw milk!!! Not a fan of alternative milks ESPECIALLY oat milk, yuck!!! Everyone is so friendly and funny!! Love the simple atmosphere. 10/10

Lauren S.

Yelp
Kind welcome from their staff!! Charming coffee shop vibes. Gluten free pastrie and vanilla latte were delish!

Joanna K.

Yelp
One of my fav cafes in SNA! Clean white atmosphere. Friendly staff. Parking is mostly street. Drinks are amazing. Fav is their espresso tonic and their frozen sweet latte (seasonal) when it's out.

Luke B.

Yelp
Had just the espresso and their blend is the best in the area. This spot beats out Bodhi, Kean, Hidden House, Badass Coffee of Hawaii, Muse, etc. Give this spot a go.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Another of my fave OC coffee shops- also shocked I haven't left a review sooner since back in 2019 I use to come here almost weekly on weekends with my friend to draw and have coffee. This place is a hidden gem, the service is always outstanding and you can tell the baristas put care in every drink. You can find coffee flavors you wouldn't find anywhere else, like their amazing summer menu and their mixtures of frozen coffee with fruit flavors! The ambiance is really nice and quaint too to draw or write or work.

Jorge M.

Yelp
Amazing service and gourmet coffee The vibes were life! Humble, kind, welcoming, refreshingly unassuming! You could sell the phone book and I would buy it!

Joy B.

Yelp
*Ambiance: 3/5, I would say this place has a very minimalist vibe as there's not much decor. I also happened to go on a rainy day and it felt so cold in there both literally and figuratively. *Service: 5/5, the barista was very kind and gave me the rundown and his recommendations. Great customer service! *Coffee: 4/5, I ordered the Nico #1 which had espresso, cream, orange, and cinnamon. It was a tiny little espresso cup but it packed a punch and it wasn't too sweet. *Selection: 3.5/5, there are some good options and they rotate their coffee menu seasonally so it's a decent selection. I also ordered an avocado toast which was good but I'd recommend asking for no sea salt because it was way too salty with it so I didn't end up finishing mine. *Value: 4/5, pretty average for SoCal. *Overall: 4/5, I would come back to try their other coffees. Not sure I'd hang out inside since it's kind of cold but I'd still recommend this place!

Andrea G.

Yelp
Come stop in! Patrick made my experience. He was so patient & helpful as I was debating my selection. Having never been here before, I wanted to try to espresso by itself but also wanted to try a seasonal bevvie. He recommended I try the Campfire Capp & that he could do a split shot so I could taste the espresso separately. The Capp was made to perfection*, & the espresso was a lovely Colombian. I will definitely be back when in the area!

Elle C.

Yelp
Cool-&-quaint coffee (and wine, and beer! How cool is that!) spot! Doesn't offer too much seating. Amazing service: welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable! As I'd never seen a flight on a coffee menu (only at a wine bar!), had to order one. Attractive presentation and fun to be able to compare the coffee in different variations! Interesting & unique wines on the shelves. Great find (just wish it was more conveniently located for me)!!

H. F.

Yelp
If you truly enjoy coffee and you like to try new things, this is the place to come. Their seasonal menus keep you excited for whats next! Friendly and welcoming staff. Great dining and seating area. CONS- Why push dairy? When most people want plant-based alternatives. I suggest you expand on milk alternatives. Parking was cool when It was free right around the corner, now parking is more expensive than the coffee and meal! Try their Litnus combo if you don't know what to get or their coffee cola! GREAT STUFF!

Lisa D.

Yelp
The place is very simple and clean. It was surprising to see that they served alcohol as well here. I ordered a peppermint mocha latte and a ham/cheese croissant. The total came out to be about $12, so this place is more on the pricier side. They were able to customize the drink a little bit, as I told the barista that I liked my coffee less sweet. Coffee tasted good, but I would've liked the croissant a little more if it was warmed up. Customer service was great. The place seems like a great work/study space. The vibes were very mellow and it wasn't loud in there.

Brandi I.

Yelp
Coffee is good, try one of their seasonal specials. Pastries are delicious. My favorite part though is the staff. They are super friendly and make you feel valued as a customer. It's in a downtown area of Santa Ana so street parking or the nearby parking garage. Outside doesn't look like much but inside is spacious and clean. Great vibe.

Katherine L.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in Orange County. This coffee shop is a gem if you're looking for a space to chill with high quality coffee. This location is spacious yet minimalistic. The menu is simple with not much detail included but the baristas here are always happy to help. Every barista I've spoken to has always been highly knowledgeable, friendly and taken their time to explain the menu and specials to me. There is plenty of street metered parking as well as a parking garage directly behind Hopper & Burr. I've tried the house latte, nico number 1 and 2. The lattes here are pretty solid. I appreciate the latte art and how my drinks are made well balanced and never bitter. The nico 1 has expresso, cinnamon, orange and cream while the nico 2 has coffee, cinnamon, butter and orange oil. If you're looking for something different, I HIGHLY recommend the nico 2 If you're lucky enough to come in when it's in season. I was hesitant at first when I saw the combination of orange and butter in a coffee but I am now a believer. Words cannot describe how incredible it tastes. It's smooth and creamy with a heavenly scent of citrus. Nico 1 tastes more like an average latte with not much orange flavor so this might be your cup of tea if you're looking for something less rich than the nico 2. If you want to do work here, there is free Wi-Fi and it's pretty quiet and relaxed! I can see myself doing work here for 1-2 hours max since the chairs are not very comfortable

Yelp
Coffee is unique, strong and flavorful. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Yelp
Great coffee shop, not much else needs to be said. Good quality coffee and nice atmosphere. The mocha and eggnog lattes I tried were both tasty, not overly sweet and didn't overpower the nice coffee flavor. 4.5/5

Yelp
Edit: I mean, I'll still come and be a customer. I just won't tip anymore. Just had a weird experience here this morning 3/28/2023. I tipped and paid $9 for a watered down drink. Big guy with the beard was working this AM who I've gotten drinks from multiple times before without issue. I ordered a hot honey latte for my colleague and myself and I could tell afterwards that he made me a decaf while drinking it at work. My colleague agreed there was no caffeine in it. There were multiple customers in line and I was walking/pacing around the shop a bit while waiting to order - maybe he thought I was being impatient? I do have a RBF (resting b face) which I've been told about before by my friends, but I was pleasant, smiled, said thank you, etc. I always tip $1-2, which I did today too. As far as I know, I was not being rude. So maybe he misinterpreted me. Brother, why the need to be passive aggressive like this? It was such a downer this morning. I was working on 3 hours of sleep and had to see 10+ patients this morning. I get that some customers can be rude and that it's a common tactic to give those customers decaf (one of my friends is a barista), but I really don't think I deserved it... I was friendly and tipped you.

Yelp
I went in today and was a little weary since the interior was very bland looking but the coffee more than made up for that as well as the great customer service. I got a coffee flight and my husband got an IPA which he wasn't too keen on since he likes it more hoppy but he said he would want to try other beers since they rotate them. He did however take sips from my coffees and liked them. I got the Litmus which consists of espresso, cappuccino and their filtered coffee. And for good measure I decided to have one of their Christmas coffees which was a peppermint mocha. Not bad. Definitely, going back.

Yelp
Went in for the first time today and I am obsessed!!! I came with a friend who loves coffee. However I, myself, do not drink coffee. But I love a good tea drink. I got a chai latte and wasn't expecting much. I assumed it would be a chai powder or something along the line. But as I watched the guy make my drink, I saw the chai tea had been brewed by them from scratch and poured in a glass jug. Then he took out the jug of almond milk, leading me to believe that was also made in house. And when I took my first sip it was just the best chai I've ever had ! I don't even like almond milk as a milk substitute I either opt for soy or oat, but this was so good ! The staff was very nice and welcoming.

Yelp
Downtown Santa Ana, metered parking street Parking garage, first hour free, neat Minimalist vibe Perfect for single, pair, small tribe Seating optimized via stool Outlets and space, cool Small standard menu, still legit Specialty items, just ask for it Cappuccino with almomd milk for me And I left happy Friend tried the pineapple drink And she was surprised that she liked it I think Books and some natural light With a downtown history vibe, seems right Service was great We didn't have long to wait Mask wearing, did not really see If that's important to thee The affogato looked so good If still there, order I would Well, maybe this helps, maybe not Just do it, give it a shot. Yelp
Cute ambience, love the simplicity of this place. I am not a coffee drinker (though their coffee smelled amazing) so was pleased to see chai on their menu. They also have iced tea. They do NOT use a premade concentrate like most coffee places. They have a housemade chai concentrate where you can actually taste the spices... and it's not overwhelmingly sweet. Probably one of my favorite chais in the area! They also have a housemade almond milk I'll be back to try the chai with.

Yelp
cute coffee shop! incredibly aesthetic & "white" inside. the menu is slightly small, & many drinks have an orange flavor in it. i got a regular cappuccino & it tasted great, not too bitter or sweet. this is a great coffee shop to stop by at in order to catch up with friends or have a school/work sesh! parking can be hard to find so you may have to park far away in a parking garage & walk over to the coffee shop.
