I really like the coffee stout The beer is really good. I would recommend this as stop on your trip The parking was a little tuff. My wife likes the IPA beer

Excellent esb, the ICT has a thing for english ales i guess. Great setting, really enjoyed.

Very good vibes at this brewery. There are board games available to play. A good range of beer varieties are offered, so everyone should be able to find something they like. Cute merch available.

Great little spot, especially if you’ve got kids in tow. Back in Chattanooga, we were spoiled by breweries with massive outdoor spaces and dedicated kid zones. While Hopping Gnome doesn’t have quite that setup, they’ve got a clearly designated area that’s kid-friendly and a cooler stocked with drinks for them—which definitely earned points. Beer-wise, I tried the wheat ale (Ope Wheat) and loved it. Light, crisp—perfect for summer. The standard IPA (ICT IPA) was solid, but the real standout was the Red IPA (Gnomes vs Leprechauns), a collaboration with Leprechaun Lab. Red IPAs can be hit-or-miss, but this one hit. Service was friendly and pretty fast, though the place does get busy. I found myself waiting in a 5-person line more than once, which says something about their popularity for such a small taproom. The inside space is cozy and clean. They were showing The Masters when we went, and had a big TV and speaker setup straddling the indoor/outdoor space, which made things feel a bit cramped that day. The only downside—and this seems to be a Wichita brewery trend—is the lack of food. You either commit to drinking or go somewhere else to eat. There’s a pizza place next door, but it’s not ideal if you’re trying to keep everything in one spot. Also had a little hiccup with the credit card reader—it stopped taking our debit card, which wasn’t their fault, but still frustrating. All in all, solid spot with great beer and a welcoming vibe. Worth a visit.

Google
The new taproom is rolling, right off of Hydraulic on Victor Street. Incredible brewery that has become a staple to Wichita, now at the new location in the Douglas Design District right by the previous brewery serving spot everyone knew. It has a new and invigorating interior with a huge patio area that is inviting to all guests including dogs. Service is always stellar and the beer selection has something for everyone. It does have nuances of a taproom such as no table service yet an order counter, and prices are not posted, even though pricing IS very good. Parking is solid with open lots on both sides after 5 PM. Hopping Gnome Brewing Company is a must-visit spot for all locals.

Google
Hopping gnome has always had solid, tasty beer selections but I am super excited about their recent expansion. Definitely great to have a bigger, more functional space. It really creates an even better hangout environment than they had before. Love the outdoor patio area, great room for hanging out on the terf and for having a guest food truck.

Google
I've been coming here infrequently for over 2 years now and it's definitely a great place to stop in and sample some craft beers. Seating is slightly limited but the staff and patrons have always come across as friendly to me. The craft beers are very middle range and are tasty, but perhaps sample one before you get a pint. It's a small establishment, so be ready for shoulder to shoulder. If you're a local or a craft beer afficianado, I highly recommend a visit.

Google
New tap room is big with a huge patio and parking lot. I love that they had a stout...even in summer ☀️. Dogs seem to be welcome in and outdoors. Highnoons and other guest cans available. IPAs and different, taste them first. Stout, Amber and ESB are what you would expect. Amazing and friendly staff and patrons. You should check it out.

Yelp
Great space! Love the open area outside and the inside seating. The beer is very good. Don't miss out on the blood orange IPA!

Yelp
Best brewery in town in my opinion. Awesome concept with the building, staff was welcoming and chatted with us, lots of locals and excellent beer choices

Yelp
Great beers, great vibes, bartenders were friendly and had good recommendations. Salty caramel gose was probably my favorite.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and popped by on our way home from the airport. Pretty cool vibes. It was raining, so the outside was not as useful, but we got to try some great brews as well as hang with some family. Not too noisy and not too crowded. Great little spot in Wichita.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in Wichita. Great beer selection, great crowd and staff. Highly recommend giving the salty or the sour a try.

Yelp
My regret here is that I didn't buy a crowler of theirs (afraid I didn't have enough space,) well one more regret was that I didn't drink here more. This was one of two places I went to twice in Wichita and for good reason, they had a terrific sour beer that I got each time I went. Our first visit was on a weekday where it was quiet. The second visit was on a Saturday when it was incredibly packed and we had to share a table. Both times the visits were great for different reasons. The first was more laid back so it was easy to be able to chill out and really savor the beer and we got a recommendation from the bartender on our way out. The second time was fun and lively we were looking for a spot to sit and the bartender was about to wipe a table down when two folks sitting at a longer table offered to share it with us. We ended up chatting with them for a bit-gotta love Midwesterners. Staff also set up their emulator for us on one of their big tvs and it felt like a clubhouse, with beer. I usually don't get into specifics of beer too much here but their strawberry rhubarb sour was good, a little tart, a little sweet just delicious. Definitely bring that back or make it permanent.

Yelp
Great beers! Had the pineapple seltzer. Would have again in a heartbeat. Will be back and keep supporting this great Brewery.

Yelp
Very colorful, cheerful ambience for a brewery. Some people even brought their small kids to play outside on the turf patio. I really enjoyed the fruity beer I tried, and it's a place I'd come back to.

Yelp
These people are delightful. We were there late afternoon on a Saturday and observed at least six staff working. It's not the biggest tap room ever, but the beers are tasty and the company is excellent. We tasted no mistakes and cover-ups. Full pours and taster flights available. Sometimes there's live music; check their Facebook page for updates about events.

Yelp
Parking sucks, had some crazy guy run out and scream at me that I can't park there. Beer is fair at best. Old location was much better. If it's your neighborhood thing then I guess whatever but doesn't work for me or my friends anymore. Won't go back

Joel L.

Yelp
Nice place to relax inside or out. All of the beers were great! We'll be back and bring our pooches.

Yelp
I stopped by here yesterday with my wife for some afternoon drinks. We decided to go to Hopping Gnome Brewing based entirely on the name due to the fact that my wife likes gnomes. We arrived to the brewery shortly after 1 PM to find it mostly empty. There is a bar in the front of this place and then seating throughout the rest. In the back are windows where you can see the fermenters and other Brewing equipment. Beyond that the place is decorated with some artwork that is for sale, Edison bulbs and string lights as well as a popcorn machine. As I often do whenever I visit new breweries, I decided to have a sampler here. At hopping gnome that consists of 6 of their regular brews although you can sub in a seasonal too if you want which I did. So for me it was the Douglas Ave pale ale, the earl of ESB, sepia amber ale, ICT IPA, HBIC Peach Sour (in place of the Steampunk Saison) and finally the design district coffee stout. Out of the bunch I think that the peach sour and the IPA were my favorites. All of them were pretty good though and did a good job representing their respective types. While drinking the beer my wife and I were also able to play Yahtzee which was nice and there were other board games there as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Our bartender was friendly and the beers were good too!

Yelp
Simply put, an outstanding local brewery. I tried the Wicked Crossover Wheat IPA, the ICT IPA, and Steampunk Saison- they were all delicious! It's not a huge place but it's got a really cool atmosphere. On Tuesday the beers are $1 off and according to the bartender the occasionally have live music. They don't have food but they do have complimentary popcorn. The bacon cheddar was the bomb! If you're into craft beer give these folks a try.

Yelp
Some people only write reviews when they are upset about something. About the only time I will take time out of my busy schedule to post something on a public forum is when I find something worth sharing. Such is the case with Hopping Gnome. It is a small, local brewery, and I almost don't want to post this because if it starts getting busier and I can't get a bar seat I'm going to be ticked. All they really serve is beer, and quite frankly that's all they need. Why mess with perfection? They have free popcorn and water, and there is a pizza joint right next door that you can order from and have delivered to you. It's basically what I imagine heaven will be like, but hopefully without the rapid weight gain. Now for the beer. It's good. Just get a flight, start at the top and work your way down. If Mandy is working, she will likely make fun of you for something. Don't get offended, it's part of her charm. Just sit there, take it, and order another beer. About the only thing I don't care for is the sour stuff, but others that like such things say it's really good. They have great stouts, IPAs, reds ales, etc. They rotate quite frequently, but the ESB is a solid choice year round. Just don't tell Mandy the ESB taste metallic. That's actually probably why she makes fun of me in hind sight. Also, the owners are really cool. If you stop by, ask what the HBIC beer stands for, then take a large drink of beer while the owner's wife tells you. I had to change my shirt that night. Good times.

Yelp
Top dog in a very competitive Wichita brewery environment! Staff has always been helpful and forward with samples ! Really enjoy there cooperation with Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria.

Kevin L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit. There are 3 tables outside, so we each got a beer and ordered a crowler to go. I got the coffee stout and it was quite good. My partner got the saison and it was very tasty. If I hadn't been driving, I probably would have gotten the saison... I'm definitely coming back when I'm in town.

Yelp
Last time we were in town, we got a recommendation from our server at River City Brewing to come and try Hopping Gnome. I love gnomes and my husband loves beer so it was a match made in heaven. :) We stopped in this afternoon for a growler of their saison. The staff was great to talk to and offered samples. It's not a restaurant so we got our growler and headed out. It's in a cool neighborhood and I could see us being regulars if we lived in Wichita.

Yelp
Hopping Gnome is a great Brewery! I was visiting Wichita for a couple of days, and decided to stop into Hopping Gnome to try out the local beer. The staff is friendly, the space is relaxed and cool, and the beer is fantastic. I personally enjoyed the Steampunk Saison and HBIC Sour. I even purchased a glass to take back to Chicago with me to commemorate the great experience! If I find myself in Wichita again, I will definitely stop by Hopping Gnome for some more awesome beer.
google avatar

Evgenia K.

Yelp
Nice and friendly brewery with their beers on tap . We went for a fly, and everything we tasted was very good (which is rare) I love sours and their seasonal Cherry Limeade Salty was just one of the best sours I've tried (could compete with Belgian sours that are my favs ever) Their Amber was outstanding! A must-visit brewery in Wichita, for sure
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Great people. The selection of beer also happens be great. Favorite brewery in town.

Yelp
Awesome place to come chill for an afternoon. I fell in love with the Smores Winter Wheat, he liked the bitterness/flavors of the Design District Coffee Stout. Bring your dog inside or out. Free tasty popcorn to help soak up the flight!

Yelp
The Hopping Gnome is an excellent brewery in the heart of Wichita, Kansas If the English Ale were in bottles and on sale throughout the US, I'd buy and drink it daily. As a Californian, Red Trolley Ale is my go to beer, I'd drop it in a heartbeat for the Hopping Gnome. A single heartbeat... Torrey is an excellent brewer. I'm not an IPA guy, I don't believe in ruining your taste buds with bitterness, the Gnome's IPA isn't like that. I'd drink it over mist beers. All of the beers are amazing, the Gnome knows its customer base. They should continue to grow and hopefully be featured in every restaurant in Wichita and the nation. If you're in Wichita and like great beer, the Gnome is the place to be. It's not a pun to say it's hopping! Busy every night and with good reason! I hope to see it in bottles my way soon.

Yelp
One of Wichitas best little breweries. Boysenberry esb is awesome. Get here if you get a chance.

Yelp
I loved this place for not only the quality craft beer, but also the atmosphere! It's hard to find places in Wichita that actually put thought into the look and feel of their establishments, but I can tell they did at the Hopping Gnome. I know this is probably trivial to most people, but since it's important to me I figure it's worth a mention! I loved the 'Christmas tree' light strands across the ceiling, the cute gnomes above the door, the eclectic furniture, and purposely exposed walls. It made the atmosphere feel interesting and even cozy in a way. As for the beer, I tried the ESB. I'm no connoisseur, but it was good! I would recommend it. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.

Yelp
Wow! If you want excellent beer and you are in Wichita, stop by and enjoy phenomenal beers! Nothing but top notch beers and friendly staff.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite local breweries. The have a great selection and many local events, like game night. The patrons are always friendly and welcoming. I recommend trying the HBIC. I usually don't like sour beers, but this one is mellow and refreshing.
google avatar

Maddie N.

Yelp
Wide variety of beer. They make well rounded fruit beers. The staff is always very friendly and make all the customers feel at home. Great vibe and a stellar hang out spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great atmosphere, good beer and you can play games while there. Had some really cool attire and veer flutes you could buy as well. Definitely a place I would go back to

Yelp
Really enjoyed hanging out here with friends! Spent a bit of time playing a few games and drinking the delicious brew. The guy behind the bar was friendly and knowledgeable about the brew.

Yelp
Recent first time visitor and have to say we were disappointed compared to other reviews. Absolutely no ambience inside (very small) and we had to wait a long time for someone to come to our little table and acknowledge us. Beer was not exceptional and we won't be back.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
Pretty good beer. This little brewery reminded me a the Colorado beer scene. The bar tenders were great. Friendly and helpful. I had the Douglas Pale and their IPA. The IPA was very goodBoth were very good. That I plan to go back and fill a growler. There is a cool pizza place next door that delivers pizza while you are hanging out at the brewery. So next time we are here that is our plan.

Yelp
If you are planning on attending the Beer and Cake pairing tonight, don't bother. It is poorly organized and the service is horrific. We arrived a half hour prior to the event because they said to come early. We informed our waitress that we were here for the event. At the time, there were approximately ten other people in the establishment. Once the event started, my husband got in line and stood there for ten minutes while people who arrived much later than us were served. Another customer even pointed us out to the waitress and said we had been waiting. Her response was that they were keeping a tight reign in the event. We left and will not be be back. Also, $7 for nameless reisling is a bit much.
google avatar

Yelp
This was my surprise brewery of my tour in Wichita! The venue is small but had a cool vibe with art on the walls and all the bar patrons were plays cards against humanity. The beers were great! Most were above average and couple really great beers including the ESB and the Pale Ale. Cool place to grab a pint relax.

Yelp
Some of the best beer I've had in a long time paired with some of the best of Midwest hospitality that the Sunflower state has to offer! I was in town visiting my parents when we went to the Hopping Gnome (they had been before, I had not). The gentlemen tending bar were so gracious, even finding us a corner of a table to share with one of their friends. They immediately set us up with a flight, substituting a beer they were out of for a seasonal they had on tap. Even on a crowded Friday night, they came and checked on us to see how everything was. If that wasn't enough to make me want to come back, the beers were all stellar! I really enjoyed the saison and the kölsch, but I didn't have a single dud. I'm not enough of a beer nerd to remember what they tapped tonight, but they gave me a sip and I had to have a full pour. The perfect summer beer. In summary: go! Have a flight and a couple of pours and I hope you enjoy it as thoroughly as I did!
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
We love the hopping gnome! Great vibe and great bartenders. Always feel welcome and they have the BEST beer in town!
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
Love the beer. Always pretty busy but the service is still good. Very friendly people and also have cool gear that sell besides their great craft beer.
google avatar

Anthea B.

Yelp
Awesome service and wonderful beer! Something for everyone! Not everyone will like every beer, but staff is knowledgeable and will help you find something you love (they weren't stingy with samples, and flights are available also). Had a great time! Will definitely be back
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
This brewery has some good things going for it! The theme is fun and the seating is adequate. There's outdoor seating right on the road as well. They've got a really decent selection for a small brewery! Come for the gnomes, stay for the beer!

Yadi L.

Yelp
I like their season beers here. The socially distant strawberry blonde (hint of strawberry after taste) and cranberry ginger are a go!
google avatar

Che B.

Yelp
By far the best craft brewery in Wichita! Unlike the other breweries this brewery is genially about making great craft beer. Seated in (or maybe near) the Old Town area The Hopping Gnome is located in an old building. The whole area seems like it's under a revival. The first time I visited Hopping Gnome they had only been open a short time. The beers were great then but three months later...they are even better. Torrey, the owner, is very hospitable. You can tell by talking to him he truly enjoys what he does. His knowledge of craft beers is awesome! The regulars are very nice and happy to give advice about local places to eat or see. I can't say enough about The Hopping Gnome. Come for the great craft beer but stay for the great conversation!

Yelp
After being gone from Wichita for over a year, it's nice to come back and see new places popping up around town. It makes me a bit sad as well, especially when they are fun little breweries like the Hopping Gnome! My friend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon; she recommended HG because of their "coloring" days. I was intrigued! Sure enough, I walked in and saw the majority of the patrons coloring away. We weren't prepared, so we didn't have our own coloring books or materials, but the bartender was nice enough to share. I ordered a flight of 6 of their beers (they had 7 on tap, so I only missed out on one) and was pleased with all of them. The price wasn't bad either - $8.80 for 6 good size samplers. My friend's pint was only $4.40. Now that I know all of their options, I'd go for a pint next time. Most of the beers were good, solid beers. Not the best I've ever had, but for a place that's only been open 6 months, I'd say they're doing great.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here on a whim on our way to visit his family. It is a small and super cute brewery in downtown Wichita. We've been to Wichita a number of times but had never thought to check out local brews, and we were super impressed! The bar is well decorated, the logo on point, and most importantly the brews are top notch. We will certainly be back when in town.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
My fiance and I are Wichita natives, and were back in town over the holidays. Loved getting to experience some of ICT's newest gems, including Hopping Gnome! I was a big fan of Hopping Gnome's laid-back vibe, reasonable prices, friendly owners/staff and especially their stout (I believe it was brewed with coffee from The Donut Whole? Crazy good). Wish we'd had more time to sample their other offerings! The only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 is that my fiance tried their IPA and wasn't that impressed--but again, I'll bet his mind would have been changed if we'd had more time to try a full flight. Will be back for sure!
google avatar

Delbert F.

Yelp
Overall a good place for a craft brew or two (or 10). They could stand a little more seating area and to serve some snacks beyond popcorn. But, the beer is good and the popcorn is free.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Beer is awesome, and one of the coolest things about visiting a new city is venturing out to unique local breweries. Hopping Gnome has an eye-catching logo and a clever name, so I was excited to visit this newly-opened spot. My mission: sample a few brews, grab a growler of the best, and buy a t-shirt with a super sweet gnome on it. Hopping Gnome is pretty utilitarian inside and modestly decorated. A small bar brackets a few taps, and there are several tables available. A window in the back of the room gives a view of the steel fermentation vessels and other brewery machinery. The brews I tried (IPA, ESB, and Kolsch) were all good and well-crafted. They didn't knock my socks off. I ended up with a reasonably-priced growler fill of the IPA (about $17, including the growler) which I enjoyed on the 4th during the insane Wichita fireworks. Your mileage may vary, but the current lineup did not blow me away. I would like to see a big beer on the board (a belgian tripel, a double IPA, or maybe a stout). I hoped to buy a t-shirt, but, alas, there were no shirts to be found. Hopefully, that will be added at some point in the future. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to this new, no-frills brewery.
google avatar

Trent K.

Yelp
Nothing better than playing cards and enjoying good quality craft beer! They own that Douglass area for sure!
google avatar

Thierry E.

Yelp
Terrible service! Waitress was rude. Would never go back regardless of the quality of the beer.
