"Hops & Grain’s taproom permanently closed due to a significant drop in sales amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Owner Josh Hare decided to focus on the brewery’s production and distribution. The San Marcos location, which housed all production equipment, also closed permanently." - Nadia Chaudhury

"East Austin brewery Hops & Grain opened its San Marcos brewery and taproom this week at 110 East MLK Drive, Suite 130. It's currently operating with limited hours from Monday, March 18 through Sunday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Hops CEO and founder Josh Hare wanted to open a second facility to double its brewing capabilities. He raised money for the San Marcos building through crowdfunding investment site Wefunder, where he received $1,000,000 before he even had a specific address. The San Marcos brewery is entirely powered by wind energy. It's located right near neat Texas State University in the same address as the casual restaurant from Austin industry people, Industry. The space was designed by Edgeworks Design & Woodwork. After Hops & Grain's limited hours are over, its full San Marcos hours will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily." - Nadia Chaudhury

Good tasting beers, the location isn't very easy to get to unless you want to walk all the way down 6th. That being said the front entrance is not wheelchair chair accessible, there might be some other warehouse entrance elsewhere that is but beware the front entrance to the tap room has stairs.the beer taste was good. I got 2x 20oz beers, the pilsner and the red River. Both were $5 which was a good price. There was someone playing guitar way too loud and distracted from the atmosphere. I k ow Austin is all about live music but this was just too loud for the space. Unfortunately made me leave early.

I’m really happy for their success, they have grown so much. However, the nostalgic side of me prefers it when it was “small” and intimate. Now it is cramped and very intimate (lol). This is the sign of their popularity and growth and I am happy for them. Keep craft brew alive! Lots of beers on tap. Food truck outside. In and outdoor seating. Lots of parking-for as crowded as it was, parking was not a problem. Added some throwback pics when you had to buy a glass and got chips for more beer. Enjoy!

Great beer offerings. The raspberry sour tasted like sour skittles! Great large open space with plenty of room to hang out. Many of the IPAs ended up tasting very similar, but the bales of haze IPA was a nice refreshing change.

Very chilled out vibe in a brewery that likes their beer. The staff is glad to talk about their brews so you're bound to learn something, or find something new.

Love the atmosphere and the staff. We came with friends and all got 'one flight'. It was a nice experience and really diverse and good beer.

Really high quality IPAs. The Crushing Nugs was amazing and took some Haze County home to Philly. Only drawback was a little too many bees hanging out outside so we moved inside.

Great tucked away brewery with Food Mongers food truck to accommodate. Definitely should come here. They are open early for coffee as well

Great local brewery with awesome selection and price. Andrew knew all the beers! He is definitely the friendliest bartender on the Eastside!
