One of the best burger places in town, if not the best. Got the College Hill Blues, which comes with Bleu Cheese, sautéed onion and mushrooms, spinach, and a side of house made horseradish Dijon sauce. I'm a sucker for warm bleu cheese, and this was amazing. You can customize burger size, protein type, bun, and cook temp, and even convert your choice of side to a different fry option. The bits of bleu cheese that happened to drop from my burger found a happy resting place atop my fries. I used the horseradish Dijon as a dipping option for my fries so I could keep the burger as it came to the table which was absolutely perfect.
The vibe of the restaurant is a bit dark wood decor with a massive bar spanning one side of the restaurant. I heard songs by The Smiths come on while I was there, so it is a relaxed atmosphere. A mix of high top tables and low tables, in addition to bar seating gives it the ability to host all types of people and groups. They even have outdoor seating.
Not a massive lunch rush today when I went and our server was attentive but not overbearing at all. The order came out from the kitchen by someone else, but our server came by to check everything was ok.
I've been here for dinner as well, and based on the availability of tables, lunch seems to be the time to go, as there's always a wait at dinner. But you definitely can't go wrong by choosing Hops as your place to eat.
