Best Anticipated Austin Restaurant Openings in 2023 | Eater Austin

"I discovered that Hopscotch, the 15-seat wine bar companion to Elementary, will be intentionally small and will use Elementary’s food waste to create an ever-changing menu of snacks." - Erin Russell

Austin Restaurant Elementary and Wine Bar Hopscotch Open on South Lamar | Eater Austin

"At 2032 South Lamar Boulevard this casual walk-in wine bar emphasizes wine and cocktails with a compact, playful program and smaller plates. Bottles will be available for retail purchase, and the cocktail list includes mini offerings called “Lil Sips,” a Rhubarb Snaquiri made with rabarbaro amaro, and the Bee Stang (Suntory Toki with Asian pears, shio koji, allspice, and Topo Chico), plus novelty formats like mini versions and Capri‑Sun–style pouches. Food focuses on small plates and New American–ish snacks that repurpose ingredients and parts not used at the neighboring restaurant to approach near zero-waste. The same trio of co-owners (Colter Peck, Chris Arial, and Allan Bautista) renovated the space themselves—previously home to Tiny Pies and, before that, Lick Honest Ice Creams—and there are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas. Hours are 4–11 p.m. daily for walk-ins, and the wine bar was noted as remaining open even if the adjacent restaurant later closed." - Nadia Chaudhury

Lone Star Beer Is Making Hard Seltzer in Texas | Eater Austin

"I read that San Antonio art gallery Hopscotch announced a pop-up series called Hop-Up to benefit the San Antonio Food & Wine Alliance, seeking Texas food businesses for two-month stints with a $1,000 monthly rent (inclusive of electricity and water) that will go to the nonprofit; applications are being accepted through May 7 and the pop-up court is aiming to open in June." - Nadia Chaudhury

An Absolute Must-See Immersive Experience! I loved my visit to HOPSCOTCH in San Antonio, TX! This place is truly a unique gem and offered a fantastic experience from start to finish. It’s a massive space dedicated to interactive and immersive art, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The best part was the journey through every single room. Each installation felt like stepping into a new, distinct world—something completely different from the last. From light installations and optical illusions to hands-on kinetic exhibits, the variety was incredible. It’s impossible to be bored as you transition from one sensory experience to the next. I particularly appreciated how kids friendly the entire gallery is. Many art spaces feel restrictive, but Hopscotch actively encourages playful participation, making it a perfect outing for families. It truly is a playground for the senses, allowing both adults and children to explore, interact, and capture some amazing, colorful photos. If you are looking for an engaging, joyful, and utterly unique way to spend an afternoon in San Antonio, I highly recommend stopping by HOPSCOTCH!

It was our first time here and we truly enjoyed this place. Awesome to take photos and walk through unique rooms. Ball pit was a hit for the little ones and the ladies who helped us were nice and informing. Price was good for us $40 for myself and my 5 year old. Be prepared to sign your waiver and enjoy yourself.

I absolutely loved it here! From the exhibitions to the service. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I loved how each exhibition allowed time for interaction and it was crowded so I didn’t feel rushed. They have a really good gift shop and a cool bar area in their lobby. I definitely think the price was worth the experience and that they have a great selection of rooms for you to enjoy!

This was a fun and beautiful experience. The woman who checked us in noticed that my wife had just had a birthday two days previously and gave us a chip for a free drink. She and I got tasty alcoholic drinks and my son enjoyed a mocktail. The ball pit and trampoline were super fun but we enjoyed all the other rooms too. Absolutely loved the love is love maze (not sure the official name of the room). Also appreciated that the tshirt I bought was only $15!

OMG! This place is so fun! Definitely make time to visit this place. The exhibits are very unique and interactive also. I'm not sure how much kids would appreciate it but adults and seniors will like it.

Had an absolute blast at this interactive art exhibit! The staff was very friendly and the facilities were very clean. It did start getting more crowded later into the evening so if you're booked for a later time be prepared to wait for some more popular rooms. Great value for the experience, drinks, and souvenirs. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the downtown San Antonio area, and I plan on making another visit!

This was a really incredible sensory experience! I enjoyed feeling like a little kid, but it was also interesting to read about each art piece and the artists that created it. I took lots of interesting pictures and videos to show my wife who wasn't here for this visit to San Antonio.

I love this museum! I thought that it was fairly priced, and had more than enough art and experiences to take in; in fact, I believe that I missed some of the art because it is all so well integrated into the space. It's family friendly too! Highly recommended.
