"The alcoholic beverage roster at Hops/Scotch in Doylestown is huge, but rest assured these talented cocktail creators can whip up a few excellent mocktails as well. Settle in at the cozy bar as you listen to live entertainment and sip a lavender simple syrup, lemon, and club soda beverage or savor a caffeinated drink option featuring Nonno’s cold brew coffee, lemon, and simple syrup." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Easily the best bar in town! My husband and I have been coming here for over a year now and it has quickly become a community. The staff are incredibly kind and the environment is welcoming to anyone looking for a safe space to go out. They are the type of people to get to know you and celebrate every milestone right along side you. They often have themed nights or events throughout the week so there’s always something to do. If you are looking for a new spot to grab a drink or meet friends out for dinner this is the perfect place!

Google
Hops/Scotch is, hands down, one of the best cocktail bars in Bucks county. Staff are very friendly and very fun. The cocktails are delicious, detailed, and beautiful. You can get food delivered from any of the vendors within the market (shoutout Spuntino😋). Vibes are always immaculate. Would recommend this establishment to anyone!

Google
Hopscotch is a hidden gem!! This place nails the perfect combo of cozy atmosphere, great service, and a seriously impressive beer selection. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend something new to try. Their food menu goes way beyond most of the “local” bars —every drink we had was crafted to perfection. Whether you’re a craft beer lover or just looking for a chill night out with friends, this is the spot. Can’t wait to come back

Walking into this bar feels like stepping into a second home. The moment you cross the threshold, you're greeted with warm smiles, friendly conversation, and an atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. The staff is top-notch—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure you have a great time. Every visit feels like a reunion with family, whether you're a regular or just stopping by for the first time. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name, and if they don’t yet, they’ll make sure they do by the time you leave! There’s an unmistakable Cheers-like charm here—you can't help but feel like Norm walking in, greeted with hellos and a familiar sense of belonging. 💕 Great drinks, fantastic service, and an environment that keeps you coming back for more—this bar is truly a gem. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a spot that’s as inviting as it is fun!

This bar is everything a great spot should be- warm, welcoming, and FULL of GOOD ENERGY! The staff are kind, the drinks are top-notch, and the atmosphere is always inclusive and comfortable. The sense of community here is real, and it shows in every detail. HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for a space that's fun, respectful, and genuinely good vibes all around!!!

Google
Hops/Scotch has been a supportive member of the community, sponsoring many local groups. It is a fun place to go with amazing people! Great drinks. Great servers!! Anybody leaving any review other than that was clearly reviewing the wrong place.

Google
My favorite bar in Doylestown! The bartenders are friendly and hilarious folk. They always make me feel safe and comfortable here it’s like walking into a second home!!! The cocktail menu rotations are genius with great seasonal cocktail and pride themed ones as well. The bartenders here are genius with their creations!

Morgan C.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails and great service! Cute little cocktail bar with additional seating in the hallway and downstairs. You can also order pizza from Sputino Pizza (also amazing) right next door which will get delivered directly to the bar. The cocktail list is unique and rotating, and the bartender was able to customize my cocktail to my liking with a different liquor base. Note, we also came on a Tuesday for trivia which was so fun! We did call ahead to reserve seats as the place does get full and clearly has regulars. Will definitely be back!

Lexie K.

Yelp
Great drink options and able to get food from other restaurants in the venue delivered to your table at the bar. Had live music at night which was fun. Smoked old fashioned is good Mystery lady was good- the egg whites made it fluffy and fresh. Espresso Martini is good and strong but not over the top The sandwich and pizza were both really good.

Yelp
Last night, my friends and I were so excited to be in Doylestown to check out the bar scene. Everything went smoothly until my friends and I arrived at this establishment. We had two to three beers each before we arrived to meet with old friends. With valid PA IDs, ages of 22 and 23 years old, we were told our IDs were "flagged" upon our revival. The Saturday night manager told me he could not do anything regarding the IDs, we would not be served at this establishment and had to leave. Doylestown Police were no help. We went to the station regarding the issue because again, we are of valid age and were not visibly intoxicated. No one seemed to be able to explain the reasoning behind this. Very odd experience, will never return again. I don't recommend trying to get in this place with anyone under 30 because you will probably be turned away.

Yelp
Having recently moved here from the NYC, I have been feeling homesick when it comes to some nice cocktail bars, and generally speaking, a nice bar vibe. This place hit the spot when it comes to that. There is the main level bar which is lively, but quite busy--we went on a night the Phillies were playing in the playoffs. Live band was playing and the cocktails are innovative. There is a lower level area which is awesome! One side was a pop up Halloween bar, and the other had another band playing. My only peeve is that they only really offer Spuntino pizza as food. While I have heard the pizzas are great, I wish there were some small bites to munch on before the pizza.

Cara T.

Yelp
The cocktails here are the bomb!! Definitely the best I've had in this area. I am a New Yorker and they are equal to craft cocktails I've had in the city... and less expensive! They have a cute bar area and an outdoor patio too. I have gone to both and received great service at both spots! Tonight, Ryan was our bartender and he really made our experience fun! I've had the Motherlover cocktail and the Whole Lotta Rosie. Both were fantastic, but I especially loved the Rosie cocktail. It had the perfect blend of floral, fresh, and fruity notes. I would totally get this again! There are also a bunch of different food vendors you can order from. I've only tried the pizzas, but they were fantastic too! All in all it's a great spot to go that is definitely a step above most bars in this area. 10/10 would recommend!

Rachel C.

Yelp
I love this place. I do miss the cozy whiskey bar tables and chairs they used to have downstairs.

Jake B.

Yelp
Great food options to chose from and the atmosphere is cozy. The bartenders are knowledgeable but the tap list is just ok and the cocktails are above average but not life changing. Reasonable prices, and there are tvs to catch whatever game is on. A fun little spot that we find ourselves visiting more often than not in Doylestown

Brie D.

Yelp
The ambiance, service & sweet potato beer on draft hit on all levels. Shout out to Rae she is the best bartender with the best energy. Love you hops/scotch

Kat C.

Yelp
By far the best cocktails in Doylestown. I rarely go for a drink anywhere else at this point. The bartenders here are the best in town, and they actually know how to mix a drink instead of just pour shots and dump in some soda or juice. Gross. If you want a cocktail, this is as good as it gets in D-town.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Discard the stars, we actually didn't get to experience this place. We came in and sat down hoping to get food and a drink but found out they don't serve food on Sunday's. But I wanted to write that on here so other's know that. But def seems the place to be to come and drink on a Sunday. The bar was packed!

Jess D.

Yelp
We had a fabulous time here today! I was very confused at first entering the marketplace and saw the pizza place and the PA Soup & Seafood etc, (thought Hops/Scotch was a restaurant) sat down at Hops/Scotch and the most fabulous server ever-Christian-explained to us that they serve cocktails/beer but they can order food from anywhere in the marketplace. I had the pizza (fabulous) my mom LOVED LOVED LOVED her salmon sandwich and soup and my sister had a great burger. I loved my cocktail Half Shaft/Half Superman ? I think that's what it's called...had 2 so I'm not sure! All the staff there was great, will most definitely be back!!! Thanks for a great night!

Yelp
If you are a Game of thrones fan this bar is a MUST visit. There's an ice and fire pop up bar located downstairs that is open Thurs- Sun until May 19th. We came last Thursday for GOT trivia and were very impressed with the variety and detail of questions. There were some easy questions but also hard questions that had 4 or 5 answers you had to list. The only thing is I don't know how I feel about their self grading system. I guess the trivia hosts are busy and don't have time to grade answers, but there's no way to know if people are being honest with it or not. The same team won all 3 prizes throughout the night. It was also pretty fast paced too, they did 3 rounds all together then took 1 break, then did the last 3 rounds back to back. It doesn't give you much time to think about the answers. Loved the game of thrones themed drinks. The faceless man was very refreshing. I enjoyed my drink with bourbon and strawberry balsamic as well. There was some bacon fat old fashioned drink on the online menu for the upstairs bar which I was very excited for, but unfortunately they said they didn't have it. Next time we come I would like to sit upstairs and try their regular drinks, everything looked really good. Food was delicious as well. The fries tasted like they were cooked in duck fat and crispy. But it came with a bbq cheddar sauce that they forgot, and we didn't get the sauce till we were almost done our fries. It was delicious so we ended up eating some with our fingers. Pizza was very good too. Crispy crust, tasted freshly made. The shrimp scampi pizza was my favorite, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and paired well with the lemon and garlic flavors. The highlight of the night was looking at all the game of thrones decorations, I was very impressed with the detail they put into everything. I took a bunch of photos on the throne with my husband kneeling to me. The winterfell tree was really cool too. And the house banners posted on the wall. They even had the barrels with wildfire on the wall in the one room. And the dark room with candles also sets the mood. It feels like you are actually on the game of thrones set. We want to come back again for GOT trivia another night while they still have it

Yelp
Excellent place to grab a drink--specialty cocktails, craft beer, wine and a diverse spirit selection are the highlights. This place takes pride in making cocktails. Its worth going to see the bar staff work their magic! When we are eating in Dolyestown this is our go to place before our after dinner. Its worth stopping in. Its a really great space. We haven't tried the food yet, but you can also grab food from three different menus of the resturants that are affliated with this business in the indoor old school mall.

Tim S.

Yelp
Hot cider and makers mark Chablis Mango whango beer Mediterranean plate (pricy at $18, but hummus was very good) Tinga Tacos (shredded chicken with radish and cilantro and served with sour cream and salsa). Needed some heat. French grilled cheese and baked potato soup. Sandwich was grilled Brie and green apple. Soup was total comfort food. $75. Excellent service. Eat at 3 diff restaurants (indoor mall area next to Doylestown bookstore) Drink from Hops and Scotch (also take out cocktails) 3 restaurants are: PA Soup & Seafood House Andre's wine and cheese shop Sputino wood fired Pizza Multiple seating. Inside and outside. Live music outside. Fast service. We will come again.

Jay B.

Yelp
Friday night brought an interesting mixed crowd of young and old. The drinks were decent but way too expensive. The live music was a nice touch, but the guy wasn't great. So many other places in town...

Dave L.

Yelp
Bartender (Christian?) made us some amazing drinks. Daily specials. Thursday is old fashioneds. Will return.

Matt S.

Yelp
We came out to hops scotch a few times over the past few months. The staff are friendly and helpful, but when it gets a bit crowded, there usually isn't enough help to go around. During the final season of game of thrones, they created an incredible pop up bar in the basement of Westeros. We played some bar trivia there a few times, including being the overall winners on week. Yea, we're awesome! The drinks in the pop up bar were themes for game of thrones. We were able to order food from the upstairs market locations. All of that food was good, but I'm assuming that should be another review for their business. Service was probably better after trivia at the upstairs bar. Grabbing a few of their regular drinks up there was quick and friendly too. A nice place that we'll stop back again at some time.

Emily W.

Yelp
Love love love!! Especially the basement 'speakeasy' which is tiki themed in the summer. The female bartender is fantastic and really knows her stuff. While a bit pricey, the drinks are really good and high quality. Plus they look pretty. The entire basement bar area is fabulously decorated. Check it out in the summer if you can! While they don't serve their own food, you can order for delivery from the other restaurants in the market place and your food will come pretty quickly!

Sydney E.

Yelp
Alissa and Emma were amazing bartenders! They were so personable and made the experience 10x better. Highly would recommend coming here and would definitely come back!

Tristan T.

Yelp
Great spot in Doylestown. Been here on two occasions-both for very different reasons. The first was at the upstairs bar for the in between of a wedding ceremony and reception. Great beer and cocktail menu along with appetizers to roll you right into the reception. The 2nd time was seeing a friends band play in the downstairs speakeasy. Two bars downstairs were able to serve the crowd down there very quickly-which was my only concern going into it. Ordering dinner there can come from any one of the restaurants in the market- only thing is sometimes it can take quite a while for your food to arrive depending on the night. Will return!

Brian H.

Yelp
This was my first time here to this creative cocktail and beer establishment. Great and varied selections of both. We dropped in for a pre-dinner cocktail. And I noticed a "smoked" drink selection on the menu. I had to try one. I ordered a smoked Manhattan, the drink was shaken lightly in a smoked filled glass decanter. The presentation, aroma and taste were all out of this world. Based on that one drink, and of course the friendly, knowledgeable service, I had to go 5 stars on this place.

Christie R.

Yelp
Chris was an awesome bartender. Loved talking about The Office, which was playing on one of the TVs. He even quizzed on Office trivia when we heard they had a trivia night we wouldn't be able to attend. The smoked old fashioned was fantastic. Didn't try the food but it looked good!

Lori B.

Yelp
One of the best locations, by far, in Doylestown, an exclusive hidden gem! The perfect location for an intimate event. We recently celebrated a family wedding in the lower level bar. All of the staff went above and beyond, especially, Christian, who managed our special event. I wish I knew all of the bartenders names because they ALL deserved a huge 'shout out' from all of our guests. They were truly amazing and are the best at their craft. They didn't stop from beginning to end. The setting was absolutely perfect and everyone was so accommodating to all of our needs. Another big shout out to all of the staff from PA Soup & Seafood House who catered the event. The food was exceptional and we can't thank everyone enough for such a perfect and lovely event! Would highly recommend for any special event or to stop by and experience one of their amazing cocktails and staff!! I know we will definitely be back when we're next in town. Thank you, thank you, thank you :)

Cal H.

Yelp
This place is really cool! Located downtown Doylestown in a building that has to be over 100 years old. The building is shared by 4 businesses, this place only had wine, liquor, and beer, but you can order food from the other businesses. Got pizza which was fantastic! Whiskey/bourbon/scotch selection is great. Also lots of local craft brews on tap. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 star was the staff. They were friendly and knowledgeable, but not super attentive. Would certainly give it another visit if I'm out this way again.

Dave B.

Yelp
drinks are good but overpriced and the bartenders are some of the most unpleasant people you will ever encounter.

NY Navy Girl S.

Yelp
An outstanding and unique Craft Cocktail Bar. Jake, Steven, Theresa and Kevin are a great, attentive and fun Staff, offering a creative Cocktail Menu (and, they'll make ANYTHING you want) with a awesone atmosphere. There is always something spectacular bring created and it's VERY fun to watch them work. So unique and a Doylestown 1st and my absolute favorite Doylestown Bar!

Kevin C.

Yelp
We went here a number of times. The results seem to be that it is a concept that is trying too hard to create a cocktail bar sans the talent to execute it. A number of times we've waited up to 20 minutes to get our bill, their cocktails are EXTREMELY expensive for what you get regardless of all the fancy tinctures, smoke and bitters they have. Just this last visit it almost seems like they went under new management or ownership. Training two new bar tenders where our cocktails took almost a half hour to make. These were not seasoned bar tenders learning new systems but green horns who couldn't separate shakers. It was frustrating. Seemed like a rudderless ship. We will probably get pizza to go next time and beer from Acme. It wasn't worth the money we spent.....at all.

Sandman D.

Yelp
Nice bar with friendly bartenders. I am a old fashioned connoisseur and judge a "craft cocktail bar" by the old fashioned they make. The bartender did a nice presentation by smoking the glass and torching the orange peel but the drink was too sweet and just okay. Not the best old fashioned I've had. I also tried their old fashioned with bacon fat and Manhattan which also turned out to be just okay and nothing to write home about. Nothing compared to the old fashioned I've had at the NYC speakeasies or even craft bars in Philly like Hop Sing or Franklin. Incidentally they charge almost the same as the Hop Sing or Franklin for the drink (about $14) and perhaps that's why my expectations were high. But I will definitely go back again and maybe keep my expectations low on the cocktails and have a glass of wine or beer next time. The good part is you can order from the 3 restaurants which are in the same floor including the outstanding Sputino pizza

Matt B.

Yelp
Chris, hope the spelling is correct, was awesome this afternoon. I have been hearing about this spot for a while and finally got the time. It is definitely a place we will return! Great drinks, mixology is on point. Want to try something different head to Hops Scotch!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots in the area. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. I've never been disappointed with their creations. The space is comfortable, and they usually have good music. It's a small space that gets crowded on the weekends, but it's perfect for an early or midweek cocktail.

Sally M.

Yelp
Fabulous place. Walked by the back with outdoor tables and didn't even see the name. Sat outside. Lunch of 1/2 sandwich and soup was tasty and filling. Homemade potatoes chips were plentiful (took some home). Thought the prices were fine for the quantity and quality of food. Did not have drinks.

Jill P.

Yelp
Doylestown needed a good craft cocktail bar and this place is absolutely fantastic! This new bar is tucked into the Doylestown Marketplace next to Soup and Seafood. The bartenders there are incredibly talented and take a lot of pride in what they create. I told the bartender the kind of drink I wanted and he made me one of the bests cocktails I'd had in a while. Across the bar, it looked like a science experiment was going on while Smoked Old Fashioneds were being made. Prices were what I would expect for a craft cocktail. In addition, you can order food from any of the 3 restaurants in the marketplace from the staff and eat it right at Hops Scotch. I hope this place sticks around because it's definitely going to be our new go-to spot!

Liz Q.

Yelp
My husband and I went here before dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and there was a decent crowd. Our bartender, Josh was fantastic! The drinks he made us were wonderful. It was fun sitting at the bar watching the bartenders make their concoctions. We will definitely be returning.

Fred I.

Yelp
Great place with various food options. Haven't had a bad drink yet and the bartenders will teach you how to make them at home! Love the fact that you can get food from all of the vendors in the Marketplace as it always comes out good. You can always rely on a good meal as the vendors depend on your repeat business. I've been recommending this place ever since it's opened.

Robert K.

Yelp
This is my new favorite spot in D-town. Interesting drinks and a good atmosphere upstairs. I haven't been downstairs yet.

Michael D.

Yelp
Now this might not be for everyone but what a treat for me and my friends. The 'Smoked' Manhattan was incredibly unique and flavorful. With the surrounding food vendors in the Market you have a great selection of food too. Knowledgeable bartender, good selection of straight-up and specialty mixed drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Erin S.

Yelp
Craft cocktails that are delicious! Awesome spot in Doylestown. We have gone here twice and had great experiences. Yes, the prices are a bit more expensive but the amazing craft cocktails are worth it if you appreciate them. We will definitely continue to frequent this place!

Andrea H.

Yelp
This place is a great, fun place to have a cocktail. We had the bartender make us unique drinks and they were great. You can order food from the restaurants from the adjacent restaurants. Update: I am adjusting my original review above since they no longer make the unique drinks as an option on the menu. This is just another bar now. My drink during our recent visit was good but nothing special.

Christine D.

Yelp
We will not be returning the Hops Scotch. We were not greeted as we walked into the bar area. It took some time to even get a hello. Two of the 4 bartenders were not friendly and when we paid our bill assumed the change was his tip. We had intentions of it being, however assuming and not giving our change was not professional. It really is a shame because we spoke highly of the establishment to our friends and it was very disappointing.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Drinks may be good if you can get one. Just waited for almost 10 minutes, sitting in middle of the bar, before I was even greeted or offered service. Not the first time I have been invisible here. Bartenders should be able to BOTH mix drinks and greet customers promptly. Go figure, it's a BAR fellas!

Jenna S.

Yelp
Cool bar, but poor service. Understaffed. People waiting for drinks...After staring at the bartenders back for 5 minutes, and then finally being asked what I wanted from across the bar (2 draft beers) the bartender proceeded to make several other drinks. After 10 minutes of waiting to be served, we ended up just leaving.

Jason B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the place, bartender knows how to make a good Sazerac, good place to go for happy hours or to grab a drink while you're waiting for a pizza at Spuntinos.

Grace M.

Yelp
First time visitor yesterday with my husband. We will be back! Such a cozy and friendly spot for an adult libation of your choice. Theresa is a lovely and friendly bartender as are the other team members we met and talked with. You can also order food is you so desire. Kudos to them for setting up a "Veterans Remembrance Table".....very touching to see.

Kristen D.

Yelp
Doylestown definitely needed an upscale, Craft cocktail bar like this, however I had an absolutely horrible experience. The drinks were delicious however when I visited the Friday after Thanksgiving while catching up with friends for the holiday, I gave our waiter my credit card for our bill right away (did not even look at the receipt, but put my credit card in the book and handed it right back) and then my credit card disappeared. I had to approach him as to why my card was not processed and he proceeded to ask if I was "sure I gave him the card." Not wanting to make my friends stand around, they all went to a restaurant next door while I waiting for almost 35-40 minutes while the bartender periodically looked for my card and the manager went to the basement to check security footage. To try to make a very long story shorter, they must have found my card because without telling me, I got a notification on my phone that my card was processed. Not only did the manager never personally address me throughout the whole situation, but I was horrified that was card was charged without first telling me it was recovered. I told them I felt like I should not be charged, and the bartender agreed and after checking, said he got approval to void the transaction. 4 days later nothing happened AND coincidentally my card was shut off for fraudulent activity so I called the manager to inquire. I heard back about 24 hours later and she explained she had to see if she could still void the charge even though the card was turned off, or if I had to provide an updated card for the refund. That was last Thursday.... I work in a customer based industry and am completely understanding of human error and know mistakes happen, however a business can be judged on how it handles a customers negative experience and their ability to make up for that, and I'm not impressed.

Sherri B.

Yelp
LOVED IT! Went Friday night with my hubbie for date night and the atmosphere was PERFECT! The drinks were fun and yummy and the food was awesome. The one stop shop makes it a great night out. Going back again for girl's night out next week CAN'T WAIT.
