"Hopsters has doubled the size of its Newton brewery, eliminating the brew-it-yourself function of the operation (though folks can still brew at the Seaport District location), and it has announced a new line of hard seltzer called “UnHoly Water.”" - Dana Hatic

"Hopsters, a Boston-based brewery, is crowdfunding to raise money for a Philadelphia location in the new 2400 Market building. Hopsters first opened in 2013 in Newton, Massachusetts. At the beginning of 2018, it debuted a flagship location in Boston’s Seaport District. The Philadelphia outpost will be part regular brewery, part 'DIY brewery' where patrons can design their own beer, and part restaurant." - Rachel Vigoda

We did a double date here to brew beer as part of my boyfriend's birthday gift from a friend. We enjoyed a great lunch on the first visit in between trips to the kettle to add different ingredients to our beer at the various stages of brewing. John guided us through the entire process and was awesome. He taught us so much about the brew process and all of the ingredients. He let us sniff and sample and gave us suggestions based on the recipe we chose. Prepare to be there for a few hours the day you brew, especially if like us you want to drink a few while having lunch. We went back 2 weeks later to pick up our beer and again have lunch. The food was once again excellent and we hung out for a little while before we started bottling. Once we were ready to get started they brought us over a little sample of our beer to try and then led us over to the bottling area. One of the bartenders taught us how to bottle the beer and seal them and then left us to our own devices. We all took turns bottling and sealing our beer and ended up with about 75 bottles. They let you create custom labels ahead of time that are shipped there for you to place on your bottles, unfortunately ours had not arrived and they were going to have to reorder them. They said they would ship them directly to us since we're about an hour away, but that was only a mild inconvenience. Overall we had a great time and I highly recommend this for a group of friends. We've already talked about going back with other friends to do the brewing process again. It might seem a little pricey upfront, but it's well worth it. The atmosphere is great and it's casual, but we'll designed and the food is great.

Good food and excellent beers with a laid back pub atmosphere. The seating area is limited so call ahead for groups, but a fun place to hang out with friends. While I did not make my own beer, a friend did and enjoyed the experience.

Really enjoyed first trip to Hopsters. It has been on my list of places to check out for a while. Hopsters is a combination Brewpub/brew your own beer. Didn't brew any beer on this trip but it was fun watching those who were and talking to the brewers. Had a flight and pretzel, mustard served with the pretzel was a highlight. Hopsters is focusing on providing solid New England style IPAs that are accessible...accessible being key...located in Newton with ample weekend parking everything I saw and tasted convinces me they delivered on this goal. Make sure to try the Newtonian, would have to be their flagship New England IPA in my book. Definitely considering going back to brew!

They have a pretty decent beer selection, a little pricey for the food options but considering its Newton it's to be expected. Music/atmosphere was a little loud so you couldn't hear yourself. I was instantly frustrated that when you enter there was minimal staff to assist you. to help everyone out you do not seat yourself even at the bar. Not sure if it's just because it was a little busy that no one had staffed the front.

Large selection of beer in a nice setting. The smell of sweet brewing beer is great. Wait staff seemed a little disorganized with sitting us.

A true micro brewery if you love IPA or many other beer styles this place is a must try! The lobster flat bread was outrageously good.

Service was great, and the beer was even better. Awesome atmosphere and a lot of fun watching the beer being brewed.
