Yelp
I witnessed some serious mismanagement tonight. There is a manager working at this establishment that is lying to her coworkers and creating purposely manipulated hostile situations toward patrons. Unfortunately this person is manager, and it is not only hurting the company culture and working environment, but undoubtedly causing other issues within the staff that I am unaware of. Her name is Tina.
Two weeks ago we purchased 2 'crowlers' to go. After 6 attempts of incorrectly filled cans, the final product was brought home and when opened was flat - no carbonation (incorrectly filled). We went in tonight and casually brought up the issue with the manager (Bob). He was very friendly and offered equal compensation, and even offered 4 crawlers as competsation. He actually explained how the cans must have not been filled with extra gas thus not holding carbonation, an error on the bartender. No harm, no foul - no big deal - he offered replacements. This is where this got interesting.
New manager on duty, Tina- came to us and explained: The can machine is not working, and will not honor Bob's original deal. Argued over what we had just explained to Bob. Confrontational over what beer was originally we had canned- the prices varied. Very hostile, and a compete 180 from what we just had experienced with Bob. She claimed Bob was no longer on shift and he'll be back Wednesday. We just said "There is nothing you can do for us Tina, we'll wait for Bob on Wednesday." Tina's experience was hostile, confrontational, unprofessional, and she belittled us that she was a manager/ we were liars!
Turns out Bob isn't off shift! In fact, he comes out of the kitchen area 20 minutes later and comes at us with attitude. He is totally a different person, like "you guys are making my staff uncomfortable" and "I did everything I could to compensate you". I told him "you're fine" and had no problem and appreciated him! I don't know where this is coming from! Acted like we were causing issues even though nothing had happened since we talked to him except the Tina interaction. We were just there causing no scene and just relaxing. He essentially told us to leave and made it very uncomfortable to be there. No fault to him, I think he came at us like that because of some bullsh*t that Tina told him to make us sound like unruly customers and thus grouped us into that category. He actually said "why would my coworker lie to me?" Well Bob, she did.
I don't know what Tina told you Bob, but you're dealing with a very controlling, manipulative coworker. If you're aware of it, then you're just as bad and shame on you. You (HUB) need to create an environment that is what the creators envisioned, part of the community. If you have managers that cause conflict what is that doing for you? We live locally, and will definitely report this not only to your boss, but our friends and family. We won't be back for our "free" crowlers, and consider your business unethical.
Really unfortunate this happened, but I feel this is what Yelp is for, to inform other people of experiences from the community.
