Hornbill Restaurant

This was the 3/4th time i visited with a close friend. The food, if you are confused, best is to ask them before you order. You must must try the rice beer and just simply order sticky rice (or rice of your choice) with pork ribs. You may avoid the thali. But go for it, if you wish to, the thali has some amazing spice filled local pickle. A very soothing environment which is filled with smells straight from nagaland. We did go to the nagaland restaurant which is nearby but very hyped and is not based on the food from nagaland. It has a lot of mix of various ethnicities around the world. I bet you will love this place. The music is very calm and not very loud. I found the crowd also very well behaved. The restaurant is run by a fantastic team of people. Order less, as you may not be able to eat. Pork is heavy, so go slow. They also pack the leftovers. Please do not waste food. It's rare to see that the crew also eats the same food which they serve, that simply indicates the food is so homely and well prepared. Parking maybe a difficulty, no vallet is available. So come by cab/ local transport. It is well marked and you cannot miss it if you follow the directions.

Hornbill Restaurant in Humayunpur, Safdarjung Enclave truly holds a special place in my heart. Delhi has no shortage of restaurants serving North Eastern food, but when it comes to the best of the best, I choose Hornbill without a second thought. For authentic Naga food, this place is simply one of the finest. Recently, we visited Hornbill and the experience felt so warm and personal. The restaurant is cute, cozy, and tiny in the best way, with such cool vibes that it honestly made me feel like I was back in North East India. And the Christmas vibes… absolutely magical. It felt comforting, festive, and full of soul. We ordered the fresh pork with dry bamboo shoot thali, and oh my god, it was one of the best Naga thalis I have ever had. Every bite felt rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. The Chef’s Pork was another level altogether, perfectly crispy, incredibly yummy, and so soulful that you can taste the love and skill behind it. To top it all off, the fruit beer was fully refreshing and chilled, the perfect companion to the meal. If you are in Delhi and craving real Naga flavors, I always recommend Hornbill. Go, try their pork thali, and feel the warmth, culture, and taste that make this place truly special.

If you are fond of smoked meat... & Naga food... hit this place. Tucked in a small lane... price a bit on higher side but taste is wow... 👌

A paradise if you are looking for pork dishes. The ambience is great and music nostalgic. I recommend the smoked sausage and zutho ( rice beer)

I tried the crispy crunch pork rib which was delicious. The fried chicken sticky rice had pork in it too. So please beware if you don’t do all types of meat.

The pork with bamboo shoot is absolutely worth it. Pair it with sticky rice zutho to make it even better.

The location of this restaurant is really tough to find. Had a lots of suggestions from my north eastern friends and finally visited yesterday. Lovely interiors. Staff is courteous but the service is slow. We arrived around 6:30 when the restaurant was empty, we were the only customers but the food came really late. It was disappointing. Iced Tea was very bland. Felt like they have used one Nestea sachet for 2 drinks 🥲. Ordered the Chef Special Dry Chilli Pork but it was like very dry. It was just some deep fried meat pieces tossed with some chilli and onion and lacked flavours. The Chicken Thali was good though. Full of authentic flavours but I would be honest it is not my palate. Priced pretty expensive as compared the other restaurants nearby to this area.

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Our experience was extremely disappointing. We visited with family a day after New Year, and the food quality was the worst we’ve ever had. We ordered fried pork ribs, fish thali, smoked pork with akhoni, and ashini. The quality of the meat was very poor, and there was absolutely no flavor—just excessive spiciness and chilli overpowering everything. We spent over ₹3,400 for four adults, which is completely unjustified given the quality of food served. Most of the dishes were simply inedible, and we could not finish our meals. With the kind of prices you charge, this level of food quality is unacceptable. You really need to do much better.
