Family-owned since 1959, this sprawling market doubles as a social hub—beer garden, pizza and gelato, live music, plus roasted coffee and Michigan products. Featured by Pure Michigan and beloved by local writers, it’s where errands turn into an evening out.

We travel back to Michigan every year, and Horrocks is always on the agenda. The store has grown significantly over the years, and the variety and quality of products is impressive. The pictures herein pale in comparison to the actual size and experience. I would definitely encourage you to stop by and visit.

Google
I had visited a couple times many years ago but today I brought my lovely bride to show her the uniqueness of this place. It's so impressive! So many choices for so many people. I loved how friendly and helpful all the employees we encountered were to us. Definitely THE BEST GROCERY STORE IN AMERICA! I wish we had one like it in my home city of Jacksonville Florida. If we lived here in the Lansing area, we would be here several times a week! Thank you Horrocks!

Google
Awesome location. They have a great super market with a huge selection. Hot and cold food can be had for lunch. Giant garden center and beer garden overlooks a nice cafe pond area.

Google
All I can say about this gigantic farmers’ market is WOW! It has absolutely everything: fresh fruits and vegetables, groceries of every kind, large selection of vinegars and olive oils for tasting and purchasing, fresh sushi, selection of hot soups, deli counter, ice cream counter, bagged popcorn of every kind, huge caramel apples, beer garden, nursery for plants, flowers and shrubs, fudge counter, large selection of candies, wines and beers, and so much more! Horrocks is a must stop if you are in the area — but definitely worth the drive!

Jennie Hayden

Google
This is the best market around should be a landmark for the pizza alone then add in all the sweet treats, shopping both grocery and goods, olive oil bottling area, huge liquor area, the outdoor bar all while walking the green house garden sales grounds, simply a must.

Rockford Wigger

Google
Huge selection of fruit, candy, coffee, etc...almost anything you can think of. A little chaotic, but that adds to the charm of the store.

Google
Your absolute one stop shop for those ingredients you have no idea where to get. We really enjoy going and seeing what new weird thing we can find but also all of our favorites. I know it’s weird but it’s an awesome experience to through the store. Make sure to give yourself at least two hours if you really want to see it all.

Google
This is a wonderful farmers market style store. All kinds of fresh made goods. I love all the made in Michigan things.

Yelp
I was so impressed by the excellent customer service that I received last Friday. .every encounter with an employee was exceptional!!! They were all very kind and helpful..and went out of their way to meet our needs! A very good experience! 10 stars !!

Yelp
If I am in town, I stop here! Parking was a bit of a madhouse as it was a sunny, Saturday afternoon in spring. Everyone was bustling about getting plants, groceries or picking up dinner. I selected a jam to bring home. I picked up a Reese's encrusted caramel apple as a gift and snagged some sour gummy candies for my son. There was a need for some snack for the hotel, so a small loaf of bread, some cheese and some olives did the trick. There is so much to see that without a plan one could wander for hours filling a basket to overflowing.

Yelp
Such a varied specialty market! They have a candy section that is worth going to all by itself, and many artisan vendors. If you like buying bulk grains and spices, they have a huge selection. They have a coffee shop with fresh ground coffee, and sell local or niche brands. They have a ton of ready to eat options and a beautiful garden center. We ground our own peanut butter and they had oil and vinegar samples with a big variety. The alcohol section is full of craft and local drinks, very unique stuff. Fresh gourmet popcorn, a pizzeria, sushi, frozen pasties... I mean it's worth going just to look at it all. It would be nice if there was an easier way to eat the ready made food there aside from the pizza though. Concrete flooring made it seem a bit rustic, with some leaking water in places, but nothing was stored on the floor so it adds to the farmers market feel instead of luxury grocery store

Yelp
I've been coming to this place since I was very little and coming here always brings back nostalgia, no matter how much it changes! The ambiance always gives you a fresh and vibrant feeling with all the fresh vegetables and fruits and all sorts of other foods around! Not to mention the plants and flowers! As far as the food goes, there's obviously a wide array to choose from but when it comes to fresh food, there are fresh prepackaged sandwiches and salads as well as a hot bar, soup bar and salad bar! Their baked potato soup is my favorite!!! As far as service goes, this is where the place lacks just a bit. Every time I go, no matter how busy or how slow it is, these cashiers and registers seem to go at a very slow pace. I don't know if it's the machines or workers or both but it always seems to happen to me! Aside from that small complaint, I come here 2-3 times a month and highly recommend it!!!

Yelp
Still a killer stop onu way through to the lake house. This location is the original store for Horrocks in 1959 and they are keeping up with growth. The fact I can get beer or wine and grocery shop still makes me smile. The items they carry are local Michigan and regional based products. The staff is extremely helpful and kind when helping you get items behind the counter. I just love the layout and the access to all the different goodies. Did NOT get to stop at the beer garden today due to time but heard the band starting up for the night. Great place to be and worth th stop.

Yelp
Loved it! Went for road snacks back to Texas. Ended up getting pizza, cardamom, star anise, a ton of pasta, notecards from a local artist, chocolates, cannolis, cheesecake and the road snacks we came for. Spent two and a half hours walking around. Would love to come back.

Yelp
This is so much more than a market- it is an experience! Carefully stocked and curated with local sourced foods as well as international too- you can find things you didn't even know you wanted! The staff is helpful and abundant! Each department has some friendly face to ask a question or point you in the right direction. It's a space for your senses! Smell the roses, sip some wine while you shop, fancy a gelato? Sure! Have a scoop or two! I miss being local to this great store!

Yelp
What an adorable place! Very unique and I love the concept. So fun grabbing a cold IPA and shopping all the fresh market options. The beer garden is adorable and I love that you can get some pizza as well. You really can make a full afternoon of a trip here! Next time I visit Lansing I will be back for sure. I brought some local IPA cans and some Horrocks jarred pickles and jam back home with me for my family to try as well.

Yelp
This place is magic. We found it on Tik Tok. It is one of the coolest places we've have ever been. The staff was friendly and helpful, too. We had a great experience there and will be regulars when we are near by! The variety of everything was just amazing. We def recommend this to everyone!!!!!!

Yelp
Love going to Horrock's. Such a wide variety of everything!!! Wine, beer, vegetables, nuts, cheeses, desserts, snacks, flowers, etc...etc... The staff is super helpful, the prices are fair, their fresh made food is delicious (pizza, sandwiches, soups, etc. ). I wish I lived a little closer.

Yelp
A truly MAGICAL and mysterious place!! Highly recommend anyone checking this place out, whether you are in need of some groceries, or if you just want a cool EXPERIENCE! Tightly organized in almost maze like sections, I felt like every turn was a surprise, I never knew exactly what we were going to find next. I'm not even sure I could describe all the sections in this store and all that it truly encapsulates so I think I just say that you need to experience for yourself! My favorite purchases included: - My favorite Michigan tart cherry juice - Yellow watermelon!! - Sugar bomb tomatoes - Amazing chips and freshly made dips - Well priced pork loin and shoulder - Caesar dressing by the guy who invented it - Nostalgic Creme Savers hard candy (haven't seen these in at least a decades?) Next time I come here, I'll plan on exploring the hot prepared foods more (soooo many offerings) for a good meal after my shop!

Yelp
My favorite place in the entire Lansing area. Biggest farm market I have ever seen, and now includes a bar to try out all of the goodness when you shop! Incredible selection on food, drinks, local snacks, beer/wine, holiday decor. All the things... seriously. Right off the highway so do yourself a favor and stop in! Plan to spend some time here. You can thank me later!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Cast and varied assortment of produce, prepared foods, wine and beer. Able to find some great gluten free options through the market

Yelp
Love stopping by Horrocks whenever I'm in Lansing! Came here all the time in college, they have absolutely everything here. My favorite part is grabbing a pizza near the garden area after some shopping, always delicious and love they have the outdoor bar now too in the summers!
google avatar

Sam F.

Yelp
Every time I go here, they treat their customers like criminals. The prepared food is ok. Pizza was burnt today. Cheese filled bread sticks were bland, tasteless, lacking cheese, and tasted chemically. The soda fountain disappeared, presumably because customers are criminals. The cheese selection is great, lots of options for real cheeses. Some things here awesome, some things feel like the owners want their business to fail.

Yelp
This review is of the Beer Garden. Great vibe, great place to meet friends or unwind at the end of the day and the food trucks pad tai is amazing.. I am not an expert but I very much enjoyed it!
google avatar

Yelp
Wandered through the labyrinth of fresh produce, candy, sauces and canned goods before grabbing lunch. Decided on a poke bowl because the sushi chefs were there, busy making fresh rolls. They also have a Ramen bar, soup bar, and hot dish and salad bars. Yum!

Yelp
So, while visiting Lansing for my best friend's graduation weekend at Michigan State University, we decided to stop by Horrock's to pick up ingredients for her her graduation dinner! Upon first impressions, I was immediately transported back to my days in college in Ithaca, NY and visiting Wegmans grocery store at midnight with my friends. However, while Wegmans is hands down one of my favorite stores, Horrocks is just a step above as it is a Farmer's Market blended with other big box stores, so it's really just the best of all worlds. Between the endless selections of just about everything you can think of, the wine and beer bar, the brick oven pizza you can order (made to go), the spices, teas, sweets, vegetables, wines, meats, you name it, I was a kid in a candy store! I wish I could bring my mom here because she would have been in heaven!! The staff was awesome. The check-out line was speedy. The overall feel and vibe was great. Other patrons of the Horrock's were friendly and helpful. I was truly pleased. I cannot believe how wonderful this place is!! We need a Horrock's in Orlando!!

Yelp
This place is fire! I do not even know why I have not visited earlier! When you tell people you spent a day at a grocery store they will look at you like why?! But we did. The whole family had a blast! We came during the Christmas season and people were having literal parties in the beer tent area. Whole families were here dressed in flannel and sweaters being so festive. This will be our new place to hang. We started in the green house beer tent. I tried a beer and the kids had some good drinks. One had hot apple cider, the other a unique orange pop made with honey. Then we walked around inside and out. They had a fun food truck, an inside bar, where I tried another drink. We bought some bomb sushi and got some amazing pizza. We tried their spinach, feta slice and purchased a large chicken parm pizza which we ate back in the beer area which had many large tables to eat. The pizza is so good. Tastes like New York style, like Joe's pizza, very thin slices of goodness. I would totally come back and get a pizza to go even though we have a long drive home. Then for dessert we went back in and got their gelato. It was an amazing bargain price and they pile the ice cream high. I had a vanilla with chocolate chunks and cherries and some sort of cheesecake and a cannoli flavor. The other in the picture was chocolate coffee and peanut butter. One of the kids also got some fun lemonade type tea from the bubble tea machine. It was really good. Then we took home some goodies. I found some chips that I love but are sometimes hard to find, some unique pops, a large delicious cheese popcorn, some baked goods, homemade slime, many unique chocolate bars. There are just so many things to buy and try. I hear the soup here is good, everyone was eating it and many recommended it. I will be back when I can to try more.

Yelp
This is such a cool store/experience! After coming across a TikTok about this store, I was determined to stop here my next time in MI and I'm so glad we did! I recommend starting at the far end at the beer garden and grabbing a beer to drink while you shop. After grabbing a beer, explore the nursery, greenhouses (during the warm months, and then wind through the thousands (it feels like) of aisles full of things ranging from beautiful produce, candy galore, flavored balsamic oil, flowers, gift baskets, and SO much more. We spent an hour there and I feel like we barely saw anything.

Yelp
Has everything you could ever want and more. An endless shopping adventure. Stop every trip across the state.

Yelp
What a busy place! We stopped the week before Christmas and this place was wall-to-wall packed! The parking lot required a great deal of patience as well! But everyone was extremely nice and civilized and said "excuse me" and "please" and it was extremely refreshing for such a crowded store! The variety of fresh produce did not disappoint! I was able to get all the fresh veggies I needed for my iguana and some lunch for us humans. I have a SD (Service Dog) and it was very refreshing to see a sign on the door explaining that only SDs are allowed in the store -- there are open buckets of water on the ground, lots of organic food that's fallen on the ground, setting aside that it's a grocery store and your pet should not come in it could be dangerous for them. What I found disappointing was that many of the aisles were far too narrow for a motorized wheelchair to get through, except perhaps a child-sized one. There were several spots where I had to go single-file with my SD and that was difficult. This is a fabulous place to go if you have an exotic pet, like cook, or like to purchase interesting edible gifts for people!

Yelp
Never in our lives have we happened upon a store this amazing! I would move here just to shop here! Their flavored balsamic and oil bar are the reason we stopped. We found sooo much more! The watermelon strawberry balsamic is the best I've ever had!!

Mario Q.

Yelp
Horrocks is legendary for its sprawling mass of everything. For this review I'm writing about the PIZZA! The thinner crust and crunchy style is excellent. I like my pizza simple, cheese and pepperoni. And it was excellent. They use the pizza style pepperoni that cups, my fav. Cheese is great. Crush has a nice crunch. It could be a little more well done for my taste. I'll have to ask for that next time. They also have a ton other pizza you can order with various toppings, like the dill pickle my wife likes. Service is fast. Your order and pick it up at the counter. You can take it out or eat it on the patio with a cold beer if you desire. Nothing beats a pizza and a beer out side on a sunny day. Enjoy if you can!
google avatar

Viv P.

Yelp
wow. seriously. This place is like a farmer's market on steroids. Their sign outside says "zucchini, cherries, cucumbers... So at first, we thought it was like a local grocery store. But inside, they sell everything from local jerseys to draft beer to pizza to gelato to flowers to custom oils and balsamic and coffee. To pretty much everything you need. A short walk from Comfort Inn where we were staying! Took us like an hour to walk through the whole place. Absolute pleasure to be in, and to get food and groceries. Though things are more overpriced than not, so try to keep your shopping list to local fares not available elsewhere.

Yelp
I'd seen some suggestons about how Horrock's Farm Market is kind of a destination in itself. I wanted to go somewhere not too far on a cloudy, icky day, so I decided to take a trip to Horrock's. First of all, it's easy to find -- it's right off of I-96. I'm surprised they didn't have billboards. This store has EVERYTHING -- hot bars, cold bars, freshly made popcorn, sushi, a wine/beer bar where you can get a cup to walk around with, meats, cheeses, baked goods, bread, candy, pizza -- even some things for animals. I went in March, so they didn't have any of their garden things up, but I've heard that, in the warm weather, you can actually get food from the bars inside & eat it outside. My only disappointment was that I'd read about the pizzeria, but it wasn't a sit-down place; just a place to get carry out. But, I didn't really want it that badly anyhow. I spent a long time there (I had to make it worth the 2.25 hour round trip!) and got a variety of goods. I'm not sure that I'd make a special trip again (although, who knows, I might!), but I'd certainly stop by if I were passing that way.

Yelp
My sister recommended that I try this place before going home. Boy, was she right! This place is huge! It's like a huge Whole Foods that has everything you need with a green house, pizza parlor, and drinking tavern. It was very cool walking around the store and the prices were decent. I headed to the tavern to try some beer at the tavern and to take some beer cans home. The beer that I tasted was pretty good! While there are no chairs at the nice, wood tables, there is a cool old-fashioned fireplace that you can warm up next to. You can even drink your beer or wine while you shopped. I'll definitely have to come back soon!
google avatar

Becky H.

Yelp
Great market to get your everyday groceries or stop in for those fun random food items you don't think about. Like a prickly pear for example, or dried kiwi, gator meat salami, or random pastas! I love the fried fruit section because you can grab small or larger prefilled containers charged by the pound. You can also do this with gummies!! Other spotlights include oils and vinegars fresh you can fill up fresh, a deli on site with cheeses galore, fresh breads from the bakery, fresh pastas, and a large extensive salad bar. You can visit the tavern inside, grab a beer or wine and do your grocery shopping!
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Horrock's Farm Market is the best place to buy quality food in mid-Michigan. The garden center is stellar too.
google avatar

Dawn M.

Yelp
The best farmers market in the Lansing area! Every time we visit, we try to make a stop here for Michigan gifts to take back home to AZ! There is soooo much to look at and look for. You can find items from plants, candy, popcorn, cheese, chips, alcohol, and much much more. My favorite pickups to take back home are the chocolate cherries and Michigan chips. Parking can be tricky during the weekends, it can get busy. I'll come back again!

Tom R.

Yelp
This is must stop in the landing area.. so much fun adventure under one roof.. from beer/wine tasting to an awesome grocery store and so much more...
google avatar

Yelp
We really enjoyed our time exploring the aisles of Horrock's today after picking our daughter up for her holiday break from Michigan State. We loved all the coffee, olive oil, and craft beer selections and our kiddos loved all the vintage and speciality candies and snacks. If we lived in the area I would frequent the floral, wine tasting and bier garden weekly.

Hunter H.

Yelp
First, let me start off with this. I love the farmers market/grocery part of the store. It's perfect no complaints the gelato bar however is a disgusting excuse for a business. Twice now I have bought soured, curdled, inedible cheesecakes, and the process to getting a simple refund has been dragged out over three days and has been a back-and-forth between one person telling me to call someone else and then calling them and getting told to call the other person, it's frustrating and a complete waste of your time. I would never recommend getting anything from the gelato bar unless you're looking to get food poisoning.

Yelp
I was in Lansing and told by two separate friends to go check this store out. I love a good grocery, and let me tell you, this ranks high on my list! The outside of the building's so cute, and there's tons of good parking here. It was kind of overwhelming walking in because I didn't know where to start. I wanted to get the full store experience, so I started in the front of the store in produce and walked around from there. The product here is fabulous. They have a little bit of everything, and prices are on point. They have a lot of house brand items that are reputable from what I've heard. I went to the mustard, salsa and sauce section to pick up and ship a few items for to my friend back in Phoenix. It was a HUGE selection of items! I literally had to call him and ask which ones he wanted since it was so much product. I also loved that they have a very serious loose leaf tea section here. I'm not a tea drinker by nature, but I have a hard time saying no to loose leaf stuff. It's really all I drink if I am having tea. Whole Foods used to have a section, but they shut it down during the pandemic and never bothered to reopen it. But Horrocks has one! YES. I grabbed some Tumeric tea since it's good, and wanted to buy more but did not since I was in a time crunch. They also pop their own flavored popcorn here? Like have an entire gourmet section? Why don't we have one here in Metro Detroit? A HUGE bag of popcorns only $7.99. I was expecting it to be at least double. I grabbed a bag and ran off with it. Everything here's fabulous. I struggled to really study each corner of the store, but let me tell you, this place is on point. I love that they have such a great selection of items, and plan on returning in the future.

Seth G.

Yelp
Incredible farmers market with a bit of everything. Great selection of plants, sweets, produce, everything. Truly a must-visit destination

Jamie R.

Yelp
Anything you need you can find here. Produce pretty good fruit I've seen and had better. Great atmosphere. Some things are way overpriced.
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
A food lovers haven. You can drink a craft beer while eating a brick oven slice, whilst grocery shopping, greenhouse shopping and specialty coffee/spice shopping. The fun never ends
google avatar

Noah S.

Yelp
There is nothing I would change about Horrocks, other than wishing the beer garden was slightly cheaper. The piñatas add to the elite ambiance along with the vast bird section. The olive oil, candy, and popcorn sections are interactive and beautiful. I'm never going to target to get birthday cards ever again, the horrocks ones are ideal and hilarious.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Amazing market with huge selection of specialty items and beautiful local produce, olive oil, balsamic vinegars and an extensive selection of spices, jams and pickled vegetables! So much fun to browse around!!
google avatar

Nathan S.

Yelp
What an amazing place! Food, candy, beer. You need some time to really see what they have.... Pizza was great, sushi was great, and gelato hit the spot. Beer garden was fun and festive. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Michael W.

Yelp
Great fresh food and fruit varieties. And since Yelp insists at least 85 characters to post.................................................numskulls

Yelp
What a great place to spend an afternoon or, in our case, an evening. Great little gift shop, some fancy foods and a full service bar and restaurant to go along with the usual amenities one finds at a cider mill. We went on a Saturday evening to see a Jimmy Buffet tribute band and they were great. Outdoor casual seating with drinks and food available in the venue. Check out their website site. Probably about over for this year but a real "must do" for next year. Highly recommended.

Edward O.

Yelp
Great selection of fruits, veggies, beer, wine and much more. Specialty foods and others.

Yelp
Every time I am in Lansing, I have to stop in! I love beer garden. There is live music at times, a food truck out front, and you can order pizzas and sample various beers and wines. I highly recommend the gyro pizza! Delicious! Great place! I love sampling and shopping, whether for their beautiful plants or awesome snacks. I see something new every time I visit? Always had good service in the beer garden. Great sections of food and groceries. Great variety! Veggies are always fresh. Great selection of beers and wines. Highly recommended stopping in!

Yelp
This place is huge! They have so many options it's dizzying, but in a good way. They have a pizza restaurant, fresh popcorn, dessert bar, multiple bars, flower/gift shop, giant bulk section, and allllll the cheese. My favorite market hands down. I wish we lived closer! Pro tips: head to one of the bars and sip on a drink while you shop check out their bulk oil and vinegar section, you wont regret it. macaron bar! freshly made sushi! Critique: they could have more kefir options, there's only one brand...
google avatar

Catherine W.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. I could spend hours there. Got a fresh salad and soup which were delicious. Bought 3 different olive oils because I couldn't just choose one. Popcorn and coffee choices are fantastic. Need to move closer because this place is so awesome.

Laela A.

Yelp
I just love Horrocks! I've been going there since I was a little girl. Today I called because I was looking for a particular kind of tea. I was transferred to the coffee and tea section, where I spoke with Autumn. She told me that in that section they didn't have any, but they might in Grocery. So I asked her to transfer me, but she was already walking over to the grocery section where she shopped with me until she found what I was looking for. Her customer service was above and beyond the call of duty! She could've easily said "please just call back and ask for grocery," instead she went the extra mile for me. I'm so grateful for Horrocks and their customer service that they provide. PS: it is an awesome place to visit just for fun, I never leave without some thing because they have so many amazing things to look at, to buy, and to do.
google avatar

Lindsey K.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to go when I'm visiting back in the area. There is a wide variety of fresh produce, many of which you can't find in regular grocery stores. They also have a great selection of herbs and spices. If you want a date night out of grocery shopping, this is the place as you can grab a drink from their beer garden and drink it while you shop. Looking for gelato, taffy, or other candy? Here you could get lost in the selection. There is also a large wine and beer selection that takes an entire wing of the store. Overall the prices vary, some things are on the pricier side, but they have great weekly specials that end up equaling out the cost. If you are looking for something to do if you are in the Lansing area, do yourself a favor and visit Horrocks.
