It wasn’t the best sushi I’ve had. Don’t expect quality. We ordered four different kinds and they all tasted the same.

Google
I got the seaweed salad and spicy tuna crispy rice. When I paid I thought it was a little pricey, but the size of the portions made it a lot more reasonable. The tuna came as 10 pieces, all huge. And the seaweed salad was about 1.5 times the size of any other seaweed salad I've gotten. Fish was fresh, rice was crispy, and the salad was flavorful with a hint of spice.

I love going to this place. Everything’s always delicious. You’re able to watch them make your food. The fish taste fresh the service is always good.

The Ahí tuna tostadas had to be my favorite dish in all of the things we tried in the hall. The bite was flavorful and a perfect bite. Wonton soup was very tasty and not bland. Crudo yellow tail was also great bite all around. Will be back to try other dishes!

Google
Horu Sushi Kitchen has great sushi that is very fresh. The side seaweed salad I got was a big portion size. It was a bit of a wait for food, but the Assembly Hall was packed, so the wait was completely understandable. Ordering on your phone, from your table, is very convenient. Overall, if you visit the food hall and want sushi, this place does not disappoint.

Google
I ordered a maki roll here for the first time, and wow—I was shocked by how mushy the rice was. Good sushi or maki should have fluffy, well-textured rice, but this was more like a sticky lump. I ended up throwing half of it away. Anyone who truly enjoys authentic Japanese cuisine knows how important the rice is. It seems like this place is busy because of its location, but with so many customers, I hope they work on improving their quality to match

Google
Delicious sushi and pot stickers from the food hall with many amazing restaurants. You could easily overlook this place for some of the fancier looking places in the food hall but you would be making a mistake. This is one of the best places in the hall. The Nashville Hot roll was very tasty with great flavors and some spice. The pot stickers had a great crispy crust. Overall this is one of the top places to try at the food hall.

Google
Really solid spot inside Assembly Food Hall. Sushi was fantastic. Plenty of other options there, but this stood out to me. Also had the calamari and the pork egg roll, weren't as good as the sushi but still very serviceable!

Yelp
This place is in a big food court on Broadway. I love that we have such a great selection of choices for different types of food. The cleaning staff at the food court is pleasant and attentive. They are on top of every table cleaning and even disposing of your garbage. We ordered the Nashville Hot Roll and it didn't disappoint. Great combination of fried shrimp and raw fish; crunchy, spicy and sweet. Happy with every bite. And we love the music playing and all the happy people around.

Yelp
Our first time in Nashville from California. After a fun filled day, our tour guide Jake recommended this food hall which was family friendly offering a variety of food options. The California roll for my daughter was amazingly delicious! She loved that the crab filling was not overly sauced. Great find!!
google avatar

Yelp
There's so many other great options to choose from at fifth and broad. Exactly what you'd expect from a fast casual sushi place. Service was quick and food was OK.

Yelp
F O O D Horu roll: tuna, salmon, tempura bacon, crab, avocado, Masato, lemon, scallions, spicy mayo, eel sauce flavorful. surprisingly enjoyed this bc I usually don't like a bunch of sauce. fish was fresh. it was really good! light P R I C E $20ish. pricey

Yelp
Really enjoyed this! Stopped at the food hall on a Sunday night and it was very busy. The line to take an order moved very quickly. To receive my food it took less than 20 minutes and that seemed good. The vegetable springs rolls were good but a little mushy inside. The potstickers were so good! I could eat those every day. The sauces with both of these were good and had plenty. I also had a shrimp tempura roll and I was very good. I made modifications but that was no problem. If you're in the mood for sushi, this is worth trying.

Yelp
Sushi was SO good and fresh Wait I was a little long but they were super busy Was in a rush so I didn't take pics but 10/10

Yelp
This place is tucked inside Assembly Food Hall, which is the perfect downtown stop for food in my opinion. I generally go before a show or game at Bridgestone, because it's quick, so many options, and it's literally a block away. This sushi spot is one of my favorites in Assembly. Plenty of options, including lots of veggie options, service is excellent, and food is so fresh. Plus you can watch them make your rolls which is fun. Highly recommend the shishito peppers... some of the best I've ever had!

Yelp
Went up after having researched a little of what people thought is good. Went with the Horu Roll and truffle salmon roll. They text when the order is ready and you pick up at the other side of the counter. There are chopsticks and packets of shoyu. The wasabi is provided with your sushi on the tray. And they done stint on the amount which is nice. Server was polite. Sushi was delish! I know it's bbq here but the sushi was good. No fishy smell and rice was not hard. Clean place. Yum!

Yelp
Came here just before 2p for a weekday quick bite after arriving in Nashville. Didn't want to spoil my dinner appetite so I only ordered the Seafood Volcano Roll. It wasn't busy so my order came out in record time 5 minutes and you get a text when it is ready. - presentation was impressive with sushi rolls stacked like a volcano - taste of the dynamite sauce over the scallops and crawfish and stacked California rolls was delicious, and the portion was pretty good for $18 and change - the only tiny downside was the rice on the rolls -- they were on the harder side instead of soft tasting :/ otherwise would have gotten a 5 star! Staff at counter was friendly and the whole Assembly Food Hall had a chill vibe. If you sit outside you'll get some music in the background along the coveted sitting, indoors there's still plenty of seating throughout the hall. Definitely will return to try out a few other rolls. :) This place is great for a quick and delicious bite.

Yelp
Located in Assembly Food Hall, this restaurant has a large menu. We have visited regularly to get shishito peppers because they are our absolute favorite!! We've also had the edamame and a few sushi rolls which were all great. Service is very quick here too. Assembly food hall itself is a lively and bustling location. You order food at the relevant restaurant counter, pick up from the same place, then grab a table from the shared seating areas. It is very similar in style to a mall food court. They have assorted seating options, such as picnic tables, square tables, long tables, and high tops. They also usually have live music.

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise. We missed our dinner reservation at the formal restaurant that we had booked and were needing to eat some real food before going out and stumbled upon this place in the "food court". My expectations were low for a sushi in this type of setting but we were blown away. We had the stuffed jalepenos, the grilled peppers, and a couple of sushi rolls. Everything was great but the jalepenos were out of this world. Food came out quickly and the pricing was fair. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We tried the Ahi Tuna Tower & loved it! Fresh, tasty, and presentation was 10/10. The service was very quick and the cashier was friendly. Love the ambiance at Assembly Food Hall! Fun lunch date.

Yelp
I had dinner at the 5th and Broadway Food Hall with family, and after walking around looking at all of the restaurants, I decided to try Horu Sushi. I ordered the Hurricane Shrimp Roll, which has shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, spicy tuna, crispy angel hair, spicy mayonnaise, and eel sauce. At $14, it's a fairly average price. And it was delicious! I would definitely eat here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Our group went to a ton of different places in Assembly Food Hall and Hōru Sushi was definitely one of, if not, my favorite of the bunch. I'll keep it simple and recommend the Truffle Salmon (sooooo good and the truffle really comes through) and the Nashville Hot Roll (not too hot for this Minnesotan). Two rolls was more than enough for one person, and I ended up sharing some of my rolls with friends. If you go to Assembly Food Hall, be sure to check it out!

Yelp
I've eaten here more than a few times - it's a good choice over pizza and burgers - not cheap but easy. This time is was HORRENDOUS. The roll i had was poorly rolled as was my wife's and was "ok" and the 2 pieces of TUNA nigiri were THE ABSOLUTE worst cuts of "fish" they were hard and I could NOT bite thru it --- normally I would have passed it off but I couldn't -- shame on them for selling this and making this the guy making sushi needed to know this was CRAP. They did refund my money - but I won't be eating there again. They'll be fine without me but the quality isn't looked after any longer and for that reason I'm out -- I should have taken pics or Video. I apologize.

Yelp
Ordered the rainbow roll. And got a roll of sushi that I guess was supposed to be rainbow roll but not at all. The imitation crab inside was actually an imitation crab salad which overpowered the roll. There was no avocado on top. There was too much rice compared to fish. And the pieces of fish they did put on top were very thin. I know Nashville is not well known for its sushi but there are definitely better places than this one.. I recommend going elsewhere!
google avatar

Tyler K.

Yelp
Super mid sushi. Nice that it is so close to Broadway but the quality is definitely lacking.
google avatar

Lily W.

Yelp
Food is so good, well I only got spicy tuna crispy rice. It's one of the best spicy tuna crispy rice I've had. I came here while visiting friends that live in Nashville. I cannot wait to be back next time to try more things from here. This place is located in a food hall, which I love. There's so many good food choices here at the hall, and I tried four places. Horu Sushi has to be one of my favorite! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
This is the best place to get sashimi or nigiri in Nashville. We keep looking for a sit down restaurant that compares, but everywhere else falls short in some category. I'm a fan of the truffle salmon. My husband and I both love the Hibachi Yellowtail... and always a plate of their Scottish Salmon.

Yelp
Had dinner tonight with my sister at Horu Sushi at Assembly food hall. We came for the happy hour specials- which save a dollar or two. I ordered the chicken potstickers and shrimp tempura roll. Love the flavor for the potstickers but needed a dipping sauce. The roll was good and large sized but seemed to have more rice in portion to the cucumbers, avocado, and shrimp. Honestly, I couldn't tell the roll had shrimp (except for the end piece). Plus the roll needed to rolled tighter since it easily fell apart. Do your probably wondering so why did she give a 3 star .... Well my sister ordered the seafood volcano roll and it was phenomenal! It was 5 stars on its own! (Too bad my order pulled my ranking down). This is a must go when I return.

Yelp
If you live near the ocean, or Vegas, and eat sushi regularly, pass on this. It won't meet your normal experience. If you don't, have at it. If you like the tentacles in calamari (I do) then order theirs. Mine was all tentacles. Breading was light and it wasn't overcooked.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Fast service and delicious food for a great price! Everything was fresh and clearly made to order!
google avatar

Madison K.

Yelp
Some amazing, beautiful, flavor packed sushi. Highly impressed. Wasn't too long of a wait. You are looking at crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and scallions. On the right your looking at a salmon triangle roll with truffle oil and avocado I am obsessed and will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Good basic sushi spot with friendly service, located in the Assembly Food Hall, which is a great venue with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. The sushi was fresh and tasty. They mostly focus on "normal" sushi rolls rather than some of the wild and crazy rolls you might find somewhere else. If you're hanging out downtown and have a hankering for sushi this is a good place to stop. Then have a few beers at the bar just around the corner!
google avatar

Yelp
SALMON TRUFFLE & Hurricane roll IS THE BOMB We ate every bite! Quick and friendly service, we came around golden hour for dinner tonight It wasn't too crazy busy it was easy to find seating Can't wait to come back Yum yum yum!

Yelp
stepped in 11am 12/31/2023.got a rainbow roll, the fish seemed fresh. rice was slightly undercooked however, I ate it all anyway and an hour later regretted it. I had explosive diarrhea. pro tip, nashville is a land locked city. except for a small handful of places, sushi is a risk most folks should not take.
google avatar

Brasia A.

Yelp
This restaurant is inside Assembly. The wait wasn't very long, but you can see them make the food which is cool. I got the seafood volcano roll, pot stickers, and egg roll. All of it tasted pretty fresh and was delicious. I was very pleased and will come again

Tiff T.

Yelp
Great portion size and high quality raw fish. Very happy with the sushi that we got. Would go again
google avatar

Benjamin C.

Yelp
The Horu roll was quite impressive. It comes at a price - $17 I believe, but the combination of ingredients and their freshness is worth it. This was definitely one of the more memorable sushi rolls that I've had recently. And it stays true to the freshness and taste of sushi - not some Nashville hot chicken sushi (I would not be surprised if there is a place that you can find this). The eel roll I had was good, but not anything close to the Horu roll. Glad I was craving sushi that day. I was surprised to find something of this quality in a tourist trap area!
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Snowcrab Roll + sparkling water is a little over $20 but it's a pro move to come here if you need a quick meal and sit at the bar so you don't have to wait in line at other vendors. Tasty roll, thin sliced pieces, but not really super friendly service and hard to follow the ordering process. For TN sushi it's good.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
This whole dining area / experience is cool. You can order from any of the restaurants in here and sit wherever you want. We got sushi from this Horu Sushi Kitchen and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend. They were a little busy, as most good places are, but this one is worth the wait!
google avatar

Cassie H.

Yelp
Amazing sushi experience at Assembly Hall The miso is flavorful and full bodied with large pieces of seaweed. The hamachi crudo is citrusy and tender. The tuna tostada melts in your mouth, and the truffle salmon roll was my absolute favorite. The eel roll was disappointingly low on eel. The tuna with crispy rice was too much rice/tuna ratio for me, and the hurricane roll was a nice standard. Overall, amazing experience and the staff were very courteous and the ordering was super easy. Love it!
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Situated inside the super cute assembly hall, great sushi, great vibe. They gave me extra ginger because I eat that stuff like there's no tomorrow. No complaints

Yelp
It's great!!! I have the Crunchy Spicy Tune Roll or the Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll. These are perfect. I'm not a "cream cheese on my roll" person but the avocado, cucumber, tuna/salmon, fried onion chips, eel sauce and spicy mayo is awesome and that's what I like! The roll has about 10+ pieces and for $9 I think it's a great deal! You order, they take your cell number and in less than 10 minutes you are sent a text and it's ready. Now I need to venture out of my comfort zone and try some of their other menu items. Enjoy folks!!
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Sushi was fresh and flavorful. The Oishi roll, no rice roll, was fantastic! Although not Japanese, their egg rolls hit the spot.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Horu must translate to horrible in English. I ordered the hamachi appetizer. Thankfully I did not get food poisoning. Had the jalapeño popper it was ok for mall food. Had the tuna tostada. I was excited to see that on the menu, but it was just mediocre. Again, it's mall food court food. The service was really not there. Finding condiments and utensils was a trip in itself once we were texted to pick up our order. The 4 1/2 stars has me doubting what's good here in Tennessee. I do not recommend this spot for sushi. Go across the way and he a fried chicken sandwich, or a philly cheesesteak.

Stan P.

Yelp
Our Sake was served and after 30 plus minutes they didn't even start our rolls and there is no one in the restaurant. the waitress was very sweet and kind, but we just paid for and as we pay for our sake about 10 minutes after we complain the rolls were done. By that time we already made other dinner reservations
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill for a while, and now the service and food quality are not worth the money...or risk. Tonight, I go to order a togo dinner. Counter peeps barely responsive, hot and cold foods slopped onto a single tray, no wasabi or ginger. Actual food stale, didn't want to finish it. Blue Sushi opens soon. Let's hope they raise the level of all boats. Or better yet, Horu becomes something different. The food hall has lots of ops for new, diverse businesses. Too bad
google avatar

Andrew F.

Yelp
We were at the Assembly eating with a large group. Stopped at Hōru because I hadn't eaten sushi in a while and wanted something lighter. I got the Hurricane roll. I thought it was great!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
This place was delicious! Truffle Salmon was fantastic, with a light but pronounced truffle flavor. Ahi tuna tower was super tasty, too. Wasabi sauce on the bottom of the tuna tower was spicy. Miso soup was decent but nothing special. Will definitely come back next time I visit Nashville!

Ben A.

Yelp
Quality sushi! I didn't expected for a food court to have such good sushi, but this place surpassed my expectation. Fresh fish and made in record time. I wish there were more locations! Good vibes from the chefs. Thank you for your hospitality.
google avatar

Lindsey F.

Yelp
Right inside the Assembly Food Hall, this place was full of flavor. Loved the spicy tuna roll. It had the perfect amount of spicy mayo and eel sauce, then topped with crunchy fried onions. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Sydney P.

Yelp
Located in Assembly Food Hall, I've passed this place many times! I finally decided to try it this past month and now I keep coming back. The spicy tuna crispy rice and truffle salmon roll are some of the best I've had in Nashville. Also, the seaweed salad is gluten free which is a rare find! They are very accommodating with altering my rolls to ensure they are gluten free. Sushi on broadway was an unexpected find, but I definitely recommend trying this place- so yummy!
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Salmon and tuna tower were fresh and delicious. Order was quick- less then 10 min. The seatings were a little cramp due to lay out and the restaurant being up front. Overall it was delicious and staff was friendly.

Charles C.

Yelp
they don't supply enough ginger for the sushi, and won't give anymore when asked. it's simple, ginger goes with sushi, not a tiny sliver to spread throughout the entire roll
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Wasn't sure how the sushi would be with such a small set up that they have for the sushi counter in the Assembly Food Hall but they absolutely delivered. I ordered the Hurricane Shrimp Roll and subbed Crab for the Spicy Tuna and it was delicious. Super fresh and the Spicy Mayo is on point (has a good kick, but not super hot). Will absolutely be back.
google avatar

Jason E.

Yelp
Very cool vibe (for the food hall overall). Great service. Food ... eh. By no means the worst sushi I've ever had ... just good 'ol mid grade, average food court sushi. It is what it is. Prices weren't crazy, so points for that.
google avatar

Miyad M.

Yelp
So so so good. Such delicious and fresh sushi rolls. Obviously a little pricey but for a healthy option the assembly food hall makes it a good choice. Recommend highly the salmon truffle roll. Oh my so good!
