Host Café

Loved the idea turning a church into a cafe, makes the vibe super unique and chill. The seating is worked nicely around the space, and it’s just a great place to hang out. The coffee was pretty good, bit different from what I’m used to, but still enjoyable. They’ve got toasties, soups, pastries, and you can even bring food from nearby as long as you grab something from the cafe, which is pretty handy. Perfect for a quick bite or a drink if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary. Definitely worth checking out!

Drinking coffee and eating cake inside a church should be in your bucket list! This place has the best vibes and atmosphere, really nice orange cake and banana bread, coffee was great too ☕️

Very nice place to come for coffee. For me it’s a new experience because churches in my country don’t have this kind of coffee bar but I thought it was wonderful. Lovely coffee and cakes. If you want to stay for a longer time you have to pay like a reservation but it’s not expensive and it comes with a drink so I thought it was ok. Thank you for everything

Small cafe inside the church. Good number of tables. They also serve toasties, soups and pastries. You could bring food from nearby stores, as long as you busy something from the cafe. Great spot for lunch or coffee. Nice atmosphere and beautiful interiors/

The vibes were immaculate and the seating area is creatively worked around the church setting. Worth a visit for a break and a drink

A cafe set inside a church, offering a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy some quiet time. I visited around 10am and most of the seats were already taken, however there are options to sit in the pew. Most people were working by themselves with a laptop, some were chatting with friends or colleges. It’s a very easy, quiet and comfortable vibe that invites to sit down and enjoy peace. I had an americano (£3) and a chocolate croissant (£2,90), which both were decent. The chocolate croissant was however a bit too sweet for me.

An another great example that churches can be utilized multiple ways. It is an actually functional church, just in the back there is a small coffeeshop where you can buy some pastries, coffee and tea. You can sit down the the tables or you can also have your morning drink among the aisles. It is a unique experience don't miss it!

If I have to pick one of the cafes in the world you should visit, this would be one of them. The idea of transforming a whole chapel into a cafe is a mind blowing concept to me. On top of that, the coffee and the sandwich were also both worldies. Recommend highly!

Just a stone's throw away from Mansion House station, I was actually pretty surprised by this unassuming little church/ café, not 5 minute's walk from St. Paul's cathedral. It's a lovely church in its own right, though not as opulent as St. Paul's. It's definitely quieter and less touristy, granting a more peaceful atmosphere in which to worship, if that's your thing. Or, grab a coffee and read a book. Either way, you won't have loud music and the distracting hum of voices to drown out while you enjoy your java. The coffee isn't the most amazing I've had and the food menu is rather modest, limited to just a few pastries and sandwiches. Nothing to write home about, but I think the selling point is that it's a café inside of a rather nice church. So, if you're in the area and have a bit of spare time- and it's before 4PM- why not?

I had a great service at Host Cafe. Staff were very friendly and welcoming plus the coffee and cake were very tasty. I'd definitely recommend this coffee shop to my friends and tourists.

This is a lovely cafe with an excellent ambience. I really liked the fact that this is a church with space for people to meet, talk, eat their lunch and pray if they want to There is a strong emphasis on sustainability. If this place were a movie it would be: Sister Act as it has both a spiritual and an entertaining vibe.

Woah woah woah. So I hesitate to write this review because I want this cafe all to myself. Found the spot after doing a search on Yelp for a coffee near my office. I accidentally walked past the entry becuase it's hidden into a nook. If you're approaching from the intersection of Watling and Queen Victoria it's before the "Joe & Juice" on the left. I walked in expecting a coffee shop and was delighted by the fact that it was inside a church! How absolutely charming! The baristas were super friendly and whipped up a delicious cappuccino. I also got a brownie which was dense, not too sweet and chocolately heaven. I nabbed a table in a corner and sipped away, surrounded by gorgeous architecture. The cafe has these cute little couches and it's a wonderful serene environment. The church pews are open for someone to bring lunch in and sit there from starting at noon on weekdays which is an added bonus. I hope whoever reads this can discover the delights of this space and love it as much as I do!

It's a cafe in a church. Seems odd at first but it's spacious and has a nice atmosphere. The coffee is excellent if a little pricey. They have a sign outside claiming to have the City's best coffee and I think they are telling the truth!

Lovely café in an old church - great daily soups and a few tasty looking cakes to choose from.

I'm afraid to rate it too highly because I absolutely love it here. But in the spirit of the place, join me and enjoy it. There's something about drinking a delicious coffee under the ceiling of this beautiful church. You can bring your lunch from anywhere else and eat it in the pews as well! Much better than the cafe part in Pret. The espresso is delicious - decaf and regular options. They also have non-dairy milk for us vegan types. The pastries are delicious, they often have a deal on day old versions that look just fine if you're on a budget.

A coffee house in a church. It's run by volunteers who want to keep the church open. The atmosphere is relaxed and quite. My memories of struck school teachers telling me off for talking made me feel conscious for the first two minutes but the set up and the stunning alter soon made me relaxed. Worth a visit, even just to look. But please buy something too keep them open.

Hidden Gem of London. One of my favorite places I visited in London. The scones were amazing. Coffee was great and they had a friendly staff.

What still amazes me about London is that you can discover many new places everyday no matter how many times you have passed around. I had no idea there was a café in this church! And it is such a cool place! We just went to buy a burrito and a falafel outside and when we realised they did not sell drinks the lady told us we could go to the church. Whaaaaattt? Yes, there is a café inside and you can bring your own food. My friend and me where ecstatic with the idea. And once we were inside, it did not dissapointed us. While the church is still in use, there is little café on one side. They have these nice coffees, cakes and independenly made soft drinks. The price is really good so I am sure we will come back... really soon. And then I will take some pictures for you all.

This is a terrific location for a delightful coffee shop, an unexpected oasis of calm and character tucked away in the city.

This is a new favourite coffee spot of mine in the heart of the City that I'm actually reluctant to tell too many people about. It's one of those places you want to keep to yourself until someone asks for a good place to meet you, and you casually drop into conversation that you just happen to know this hidden gem where you can drink coffee and eat cake (or even bring your own lunch) IN A BEAUTIFUL OLD CHURCH. Oh yes. I admit it's a little odd at first given the space is so airy and mostly full of church pews, but it's also totally gorgeous to look around at and under the radar enough that it's never busy (touch wood). Everyone naturally seems to speak in hushed tones given the surroundings and you have your pick of tables or sofas. It helps that the staff are absolute darlings too and the coffee is delish! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area - there is so much more heart here than at the chains and even though I want to keep it a secret, they could probably use some more love to make sure they stay in business!
