"Not far from Nørreport station, Høst is a busy neighbourhood restaurant that offers an enjoyable atmosphere and good value cooking. Dishes are modern, boldly flavoured and visually impressive, and the set menus come with lots of extra surprises. Nordic fish and shellfish feature largely, while the vegetarian dishes – like celeriac with truffle and ´Vesterhavsost’ – are some of the highlights of the menu." - Michelin Inspector

"Rustic Design at Its Best This place is an interesting blend. In the recent Danish tradition, it is a partnership between a number of different creative types. This time, those personalities happen to be design-oriented people from the food, interior design, and dinnerware design communities. This restaurant has focused completely on providing a rich, intensely rustic experience that embodies modern trends in both the New Nordic cuisine movement and Danish design. Recent offerings include flounder with fried chicken skin and sauce made from fermented asparagus and grilled lobster with juniper pancake and pointed cabbage. Photo: Höst."

We had the pleasure of enjoying a five-course menu, complemented by several additional small courses in between. The food was varied, thoughtfully composed, and of very high quality. As expected in fine dining, the portions were rather small, so it is not the ideal choice if you arrive very hungry. The price of 550 DKK for the menu felt reasonable and fair considering the overall culinary experience. However, there were a few aspects that left us disappointed. In particular, the pricing of water felt excessive: two small glasses of tap water were charged at 60 DKK per person, which we did not find appropriate. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt rushed. Plates were removed immediately once we finished, and on one occasion, when we took a bit more time due to conversation, we were asked twice within five minutes whether we were done. Our neighboring table had the wine pairing and appeared similarly hurried, seemingly pressured to finish each glass quickly. For an experience of this level, we would have expected a more relaxed and unhurried pace. Lastly, the dining room felt quite crowded and rather loud, which further detracted from the otherwise refined experience. Overall, the cuisine itself was excellent, but the service tempo and atmosphere did not fully meet the expectations one typically has for a high-end dining experience.

I had a fantastic evening at HØST and would absolutely recommend it. I chose the “An Evening at HØST” package (sparkling wine, a 5-course menu, 5-glass wine pairing, coffee and water), and it felt like a complete, well-designed experience from start to finish. The pacing was spot on — relaxed, never rushed — and what really impressed me was the number of small “surprise” bites and extra touches between courses. It made the dinner feel playful and special, not just a standard set menu. Every course was beautifully executed, and the balance of flavors was consistently strong. The interior design and overall presentation deserve a special mention: the aesthetics, plating, and attention to detail were simply 100/100. Service was professional and warm, and the wine pairing complemented the food really well. If you’re looking for a memorable dinner in Copenhagen with great atmosphere and an elevated tasting menu experience, this is a must-visit.

Host is unique and has its own tasting menus. A lovely experience but pricey for what you get. I was still hungry after the five courses and there was a supplement for all the meat options, chicken, beef or lobster. For two people the bill came to £240 or 2046 Danish Krone and this is without the wine flight. We did have a bottle of wine that was priced reasonably at £40. I wouldn’t have minded the cost of the meal, if I was content with the food but I feel they should have served larger portions and nothing really stood out. The atmosphere is nice, low lighting, candle lit and romantic. The staff are friendly. The lady did offer to bring me the danish flag which is the tradition for a birthday but then she forgot to bring it out. The suggestion was nice though. The food was good but not exceptional. I’ve had better tasting menus many times. I also tried Maple casual dining the following night and preferred Maple. It’s great to try new things and we tried Host but we won’t be returning in a rush.

15/10. Enjoyed a lovely 2.5 hours with my colleagues for a years end celebration. World class restaurant and service. Even the wine pairing was perfect. Some of the most full flavour bites of food and wine I’ve ever had. Unforgettable experience. Pictures don’t do it justice. Loved it.

We had the five course dinner, and were very pleased with the experience. The restaurant is beautiful and filled with thriving plants. The food presentation is as beautiful as it was delicious. The menu was innovative and the food fresh and courses went well together. We had the lobster, and it was the best we’ve ever had and unique with the sauces and greens to complement the fish. All servers were knowledgeable and helpful, but Elizabeth, our main wait person, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Wish we were closer to become regulars.

I had an excellent experience at Host Restaurant with the 5 course menu. The chefs did an amazing job turning simple ingredients into something that tasted incredible. Every dish had great textures and flavors that worked so well together. You can tell a lot of care went into each plate. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the presentation to the pacing of the meal. Great experience!

Høst was one of the restaurants we were excited to visit in Copenhagen; We had heard so many great things about this place so we made sure to book in advance. The restaurant is part of the Cofoco group, who are known across Copenhagen for their modern Nordic restaurants that focus on sustainability, local produce and beautiful design. Høst embodies all of that; it’s stylish yet relaxed, with lots of natural light and greenery throughout, which gave it a calm and stunning atmosphere. The greenery actually reminded me a little of Vækst, and even the way the sauces were poured over the dishes- I love sauces, so that definitely doesn’t bother me! The menu showcases modern Nordic cuisine, focusing on what's in season seasonal with lots of creative combinations. We went with the five course menu; every very dish was fresh, beautifully presented and for me, delicious! I loved all of the surprise dishes and palate cleansers that came out in between courses. The only dish that didn't blow my mind was the lobster; lacked the wow factor, but that is just my personal taste. My personal highlights were the scallops and the hake; both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! They also offer matching wines or wines by the glass, but since we’d had a few too many the night before, we went with their local kombuchas, which were amazing and paired beautifully with the meal. They do cater for food intolerances and have a vegetarian menu, which is great if you’re dining with a group. Compared to their sister restaurant, I found the experience here to feel more elevated; nothing felt rushed, and the service was spot on. Unlike some others experiences, the team explained everything with care and made sure we always had enough water and were enjoying ourselves without ever feeling over served. I’d absolutely recommend booking a table if you’re planning a trip to Copenhagen.

Outstanding restaurant experience! The atmosphere is casual with great style. The food was creatively prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented. The servers were attentive, prompt, and smilingly good-natured. We had the five course dinner and each course was wonderful. Vegetarian and vegan options are thoughtfully prepared and very flavorful. Not an inexpensive place to dine, but certainly worth the splurge.
