Auberge de la Vieille Ferme

"In this little village not far from Compiègne, a former farmstead is now a very popular hotel and restaurant. The chef signs a culinary score that is both delicate and appetising, dotted with personal touches such as a starter of razor clams, cuttlefish and potatoes, or the peanut, caramel and vanilla millefeuille dessert – to die for! Highly recommended." - Michelin Inspector

We arrived late, tired and without a booking. The staff was so very welcoming and friendly. We were given a lovely comfortable room and even though the restaurant was fully booked, the staff made some space to accommodate us in the cosy dining room. How can I describe the food…the degustation menu was a feast for the senses. Beautiful presentation and exquisite complimenting flavours. French gastronomie at it’s best. We hope to come back one day.

We were driving from London to tHe South of France. This is a good stop for the first night so you can tackle Paris while fresh the next day!||||The hotel is quite rustic. Our room was small and gave onto the road. To be honest, the room was nothing special and maybe a fraction expensive, but it is quite near Paris. However, the owner shook hands with us when we arrived and also greeted our dog and that was nice. ||||The restaurant was lively with hotel guests and local people. The food was at the top end of Logis food and the service competent. The owner shook hands with us again when we left. We felt we had had a good experience and value for money overall. Would certainly consider returning.

We stayed here for just one night in June 2015, en route to Alsace from the UK. The auberge was easy to find, and has plenty of parking at the back. Our room was small but comfortable, although the en-suite shower room was cramped. We had a beer in the sunny courtyard in the afternoon, a very pleasant experience! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a really good meal - we chose smoked salmon and scallops (very garlicky!) as starters, and then shared an excellent cote de boeuf with French fries and hollandaise sauce - fantastic meat! All was accompanied by an excellent red wine from an extensive list. Sadly no room for dessert. We slept quite well, though we used earplugs to screen the traffic noise. Breakfast was good too, with juice, tasty coffee, bread and patisserie, yogurts, cheese and fruit. Friendly staff and very helpful.

We are very pleased to have found this hotel as a stopping place before Paris. The rooms are simple but very clean and adequate. The restaurant was the best of our two-week tour of France: - at last, a restaurant with good (well-kept) wine at a sensible price.

A big thank you to Francois and his team. Having been rescued from the A1 after a breakdown. Francois had little notice of our arrival. He made the four of us feel very welcome and didnhis absolute best to accommodate our needs at short notice. Many thanks we will be back this time planned and we we look forward tontrying your restaurant too. Merci Beacoup

This family-run hotel is a great place to use as a base for the various WWI sites in the area, not least the Clairiere where the Armistice was signed. The patron is Spanish and the rooms, while basic in appearance, are modelled more in the Spanish hotel style, which means they are cool when everywhere around is blistering hot as was the case on our recent visit (external heat 37°C). And everything in the room works, which is more than can be said for some flashier places we've been to. The great thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff, all family members and, in particular, the chef (a son, of course) whose food is to die for. He has a way with rognons and ris de veau that has us coming back for more and more. There is also a decent wine list with a number of good-quality half-bottles.There is plenty of onsite parking which leads to the one minor - and it is minor - criticism, which is that cars must drive past the delightful external dining area in order to access the rear of the complex where the parking is. We have been here twice and will return.

Situated in a quiet village north of Paris with a really good restaurant above its 3 star hotel rating. Service is excellent and you need to speak French to maximise your stay. Car parking is secure.||Menus are varied and of high quality
