"A classic dining room with plenty of wood panelling on one side, a Renaissance Alsace-style dining area on the other, and in both cases, tasty traditional cuisine such as presskopf of pork cheek with mixed vegetables or lamb chops served with chorizo ratatouille. One thing is for sure, food like this keeps diners coming back for more. There are few comfortable guestrooms, should you wish to stay the night." - Michelin Inspector

Completely renewed inside, a modern Hotel in an old Wissembourg house, great surroundings, super friendly host, fantastic value for the service offered. We come here 50 plus years. Private secure parking. Thank you for keeping your hotel updated .

Wissembourg is one of my favorite villages in the Alsace. Quaint and authentic and not overrun with tourists. Although I have eaten at Au Cygne over the years I have never stayed there. It is just excellent and not to be missed if you want to experience the real Alsace! Perfect room with excellent amenities. The restaurant is genuine and very gracious. The owner Cathie and her husband make you feel like part of their family from the first moment. The food is excellent and locally sourced. The dining room staff were just wonderful. Two young ladies who had fun speaking English and I tried my rudimentary French AND they are extraordinarily good at service. A wonderful dining experience in a wonderful hotel! Thank you Cathie and friends!!

We stayed in the annex with the modern rooms and were very grateful for the A/C on an unusually hot day in August. The room was tastefully furnished, spacious and had a large bathroom. We enjoyed the quiet, and the bed was comfortable. There is free parking available in a courtyard off the street. Kathy is the hotel manager; she is very gracious and speaks good English.||||We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. I chose the 30 euro 3 course dinner offered only to guests. The char (a local fish) was delicious, as was the goat cheese on small vegetable fritters, and the chocolate mousse for dessert. For breakfast, we recommend going around the corner to the restaurant on the main street where you can sit outside and have un petit déjeuner while you watch people go by! On Saturday morning there is a lively farmers market selling beautifully fresh fruits and vegetables. There are a number of restaurants and patisseries in the town as well as interesting local shops. Lots of lovely walks, too.

Hotel with a great location in the center of the village. Great food and wine selection. Secured car park was another positive aspect of this hotel. The village has somehow kept is original aspect and has not been yet extremely exposed to the negative sides of mass tourism. Still a village were you enjoy a different pace and great local products.||Our room was on the second floor, simply decorated, very quite and clean.

What a great location! Right downtown, in back of the City Hall. The staff was very helpful, especially when we needed them to put down a handicapped-accessible ramp so we could access the restaurant and breakfast buffet. The meal we had at the restaurant was delicious; I'm drooling just remembering my char wrapped in cabbage leaf with heirloom vegetables, mini onion tart, and the pistachio cake with dark, sweet cherries! We were somewhat surprised that the breakfast buffet was nothing too special (but we ate there on a Wednesday morning when the restaurant is closed--maybe it is different when the restaurant is open??). We stayed in the "new" building and the rooms were quite lovely.

We both had the tournedos (fillet of beef) and it was superb, even the one cooked well done for my husband. The superior room was incredibly spacious with an individual air con unit which worked properly. The only thing we didn't like was the huge spa bath with a shower outlet. Very difficult to get in and out of, and even harder to have just a shower. Recommend pulling out the spa and making it a walk-into shower.

The hotel was nice and cosy and right in the center of Wissembourg. The room ordinary, but must complaint about very hard beds. Difficult to get a good night sleep.||The restaurant was very good. We had a 4 course dinner with a nice bottle of wine and the food was nicely presented and very good. Highly recommended.

I stayed only one night and checked in late as I'd missed the last train out of Wissembourg so I was grateful to get the last room available which the receptionist said was 'tres petite'. However, it was actually quite spacious with a large ensuite bathroom. It was situated in the annex, just a couple of yards from the main entrance. Although the decor is somewhat unimaginative, the room was immaculately clean. And the receptionist kind and helpful. The hotel is situated just off the main square in Wissembourg yet is very quiet, even on Saturday night. Wissembourg is a really charming town with lots of interesting, old buildings which have been beautifully preserved, including this hotel. If I return to Wissembourg, I wouldn't have any hesitation about staying here.
