"The chef crafts cuisine in tune with the zeitgeist, wonderfully blending fish from the local catch and ingredients from Brittany's terroir, such as house-smoked salmon, tangy herb cream and buckwheat blini, or the blanquette of monkfish and Molène sausage, vegetables and steamed potatoes. The cooking is precise and accentuates the well-chosen ingredients!" - Michelin Inspector

We had mixed feelings about our stay. The good things were that the views of the ocean, and the little sailboats were very charming. The cost of the hotel also was good. There were an assortment of pastries at breakfast, and you could tell that care was taken to provide a nice experience. However, there were several things that could’ve been approved upon. Our room was adequate only. There was a smell in the hallway that permeated into the room. In addition, there were signs of mold in the bathroom shower area however, the sink and toilet area were clean. At breakfast I wanted to take a roll or a croissant later and was told I could not do that and then I had to eat all the food there. I had only had a small bowl of cereal with yogurt for €12. The woman was not that friendly, and I probably would not recommend this hotel to somebody.

Stayed four nights here based on location and good reviews. We wanted to explore a little bit on the bikes and this seemed an ideal base. Lovely warm welcome from the hosts, who were helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We'd booked a room at the front overlooking the bay and would recommend this (although there was no sign of the dolphin). The room was good, with a big comfy bed, a kettle and a great shower. The highlight was the dining-room; we'd originally planned to eat there for two of our nights but rapidly changed our mind and booked for all four. Dinners were amazingly good; the proprietor M Frappier is also chef, with a team of ten in the kitchen he told me, and the food was very good indeed! Excellent service from their well-trained staff too. We only managed one breakfast but that was great with a generous array of buffet-type dishes, pastries etc. Overall, excellent and recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the hostellerie in Le Fret. Our room was at the back of the hotel so no sea view, was very small but had everything you need and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There is a good choice at the breakfast buffet in the morning. The hostellerie restaurant is excellent. There is a large choice of dishes. Our meal was delicious and presented beautifully. If you don't want to eat at the restaurant every night there are lots of places to eat within walking distance or a short drive away. There is lots to do in the area and the beaches are amazing. The hotel staff are professional and pleasant. We have booked again to stay in September.

Stayed for 6 days in a suite at the front of hotel, with lovely views over the bay and a beautifully designed and appointed bathroom. The highlight was the magnificent restaurant, with its large windows overlooking the bay, serving beautifully presented innovative dishes at reasonable prices. Careful consideration had been given to every aspect of the hotel so that everything was delivered to a high standard of quality.

Disappointingly, I missed the butter with the sandwich, with the starter and main course it was tasteless, no pepper and salt, the risotto was a bland rice pudding so the cod did not come into its own. As a cook I can safely say that the love was not in the starter and main course. The dessert was nice though.

We would thoroughly recommend you ask for a room overlooking the harbour as the view is absolutely fantastic. It's not a through road so it's quite quiet. Owners most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Truly fantastic breakfast as well. Book for dinner it's worth your while.

Rooms are too small, no space to have two pieces of luggage without falling over. However nice modern bathrooms. Location is good, right next to the ocean. Service in the restaurant is great as well as the food, very friendly and attentive staff!

We enjoyed a two night stay in this delightful Logis in the quiet little hamlet of Le Fret. We had a room at the front overlooking the harbour from where we could watch the comings and goings of the various vessels. I would describe our room as compact rather than small but it was very clean, with a new looking bathroom, comfortable bed and unusually for France tea making equipment. We patricularly liked the automatic external shutters that could be set to filter light or act as a complete blackout. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had in France with an extensive range of items, both sweet and savoury, to choose from the buffet that the attentive owners rapidly replenished as items became depleted. You could even squeeze your own orange juice on the electric juicer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in this family run hotel where the friendly helpful staff ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. The kind owner even arranged for one of the staff to reaffix my vehicle number plate that he had witnessed fall off! Merci Bien!!
