The staff is friendly enough. And the flavor of the food wasn’t great. If it weren’t for the sauces I probably wouldn’t have been able to eat it, honestly. I haven’t had Indian food since my childhood and so I’m not sure as far as Indian food standards how to rate this. But I’m pretty sure they microwaved the food before serving it to me. The bread had that hot soft but weirdly stale feeling like the crust of pizza after you microwave it. The buffet style rice bar was extremely close to the entrance, like partially in the way of the doorway, so that alone had me choosing not to get the rice. But on a second look it was very unclean. There were no covers to the rice and the rice almost looked partially dehydrated and shrunken off the sides of the serving dish. As if it had been there for over 24 hours. The bathroom was so unclean I felt more sanitary not washing my hands.there was food in the bathroom sink and it was pretty run down back there. The fridge with the beverages was very low stocked and unorganized, almost gave me a post apocalyptic feel. I was going to give this 2 stars but after writing this through and hearing myself go through the cons I’ve decided it’s important for an unbiased true rating. I probably shouldn’t have eaten the food and am hoping I don’t get food poisoning.

Hot Breads has lost its charm, once known for its authentic Punjabi style food, thanks to the awesome Punjabi chef they had, has now lost its reputation. Curries are now having the same tomato base with tons of cream. I used to enjoy their paneer kadhaii ( afraid don’t have photos from the past) just looking at the curry and the signature red and green capsicum used to make me drool. Now the curries look below average and even worst, the taste is not memorable. Same thing for the malai kofta. What disappointed me further was they served me “STALE” … dabeli, it was smelling horrible the moment I opened the take out box. C’mon this is not fair. Thirdly when I started with hotbreads way back the curries used to be priced 6.99 and portions were huge, now they are 17 and the portions are probably half. Ofcourse I do understand the macro economics in play with inflation but that is expensive for a joint like hot breads they are not a sit in restaurant with fancy decor and table service. I think they have taken the prices a bit too far. Not coming back HotBreads, stale food is unpardonable. Can’t give you my business, what a disappointment.

Google
I would recommend any day, owner Vijay and manager Srinivas are very courteous. The current baker is nice too. The place is very simple looking, ambience is lacking but quality is the best for the money you spend. Highly recommend.

Google
Me and my family had a great experience here. We were just passing through and really enjoyed our meal here. We finished everything and it was delicious!

Santhosh G

Google
Best place for authentic hyderabad Biryani, veg chicken or goat exactly in hyderabadi style. Not at all overpriced like other Indian restaurants. Try goat curry as well. Pastries are delicious, mango, strawberry or chocolate flavored pastries with sponge cake are a must try.

Faizan Rashid (.

Google
Great food and friendly staff!! Must try the Goat puff and the samosa chaat. They also have lunch buffets everyday. Indian food? Bollywood movies and music is the vibe!

Aj P.

Google
Catered food for our last few events was great, everyone liked it. Secondly, their biryanis are the best. Thank you! 🤝

Raj C

Google
They definitely need to be cleaned more in the seating area and work a bit on the ambiance even if they have more business of takeout. Service wasn't bad but it can be better.

Yelp
Food: Masala vada 4/5 Bhel puri: 1/5 (if the restaurant can't make fresh bhel puri, they should remove it from the menu. The bhel puri mix was store-bought with an unknown expiration date, and there was too much sweet chutney ) Chicken sandwich: 4/5 (please stop serving chat sauce with sandwich) Fried piece chicken biryani: 5/5 (awesome dish and served with raita) Service: The lady at counter was kind, informative and polite. Ambiance: This place is not suitable for dining in, as it is poorly maintained and lacks cleanliness. It is better for takeout.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is dirty. Very dirty. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet. Quality of food has gone down a great deal. The floor is great. I don't understand why they have 0 regard for cleanliness
google avatar

Supra M.

Yelp
Food is not fresh, not that tasty especially if you tried the restaurant in India with the same brand. Service is Not with a smile, just like the original locations in India, The place doesn't look very clean They need to up the game.

Yelp
Went in to grab a quick bite. Ordered 2 puffs. Both were stale, oily and soggy. Would not recommend this place to anyone or visit again.
google avatar

Sujatha H.

Yelp
Indian food and croissants/pastry mash-ups!! So tasty. Very casual. Super nice staff. Fresh items. Point and choose. They will heat it up for you if you want. Can't wait to return!!

Yelp
Hot Breads is an Indian forward bakery, with a lot more than just bakery items, such as biryani and dosa, as two examples. Of bakery items there is an abundance. I enjoy well prepared samosas, which is the only item I tried. Their version is a traditional potato and pea filled version. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Megan G.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich with mild spice was delicious. The place is clean and the service is very friendly! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
What does "There is a rich diversity in food" for every item description on your website mean? Please fix or explain. Would love to come visit ... its a bit distant to drive from Attleboro. Updated description & pictures in your ordering to go would really help too for your customers. Thank you.

Yelp
The 4 stars are purely for their breads and biryani. Their breads (including buns, puffs, and croissants) are genuinely pretty good - it's in their name, after all. We usually get pav from here when making pav bhaji at home. If you want pav, call ahead because they make limited quantities and may run out. But that way at least you know the pav is fresh. The goat biryani is also excellent - probably the best in the Boston area. We've also tried the dosa, dabeli, and some pastry and chaat items here but these are not their core competency. My best advice would be to avoid getting anything else beyond breads and biryani; you'd only be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Nidhi P.

Yelp
I ordered the paneer tikka and mix veg again and they both had so much salt in them that it was inedible. The taste was really good but couldn't eat after the first couple bites. I'm so sad they changed it up. It was so prefect before. I don't think I'll be going back here for takeout again. :(

Heather M.

Yelp
It's been years since we've been to this little place, boy has it gone down hill! It's FILTHY!don't touch anything, it's sticky . The butterscotch cake tasted like the refrigerator and the samosas were off. Let's talk about the man in the kitchen having a very LOUD conversation on speaker phone! Nope, it used to be a great place, not anymore ‍
google avatar

Ravi K.

Yelp
Moderately priced shop with several option. Their prices are lower than other bakeries but taste was not good either.

Aj F.

Yelp
Terrible thought my asshole was going to explode one bite in to my goat puff pastry I would never come here again nor would I ever sell them one of my goats
google avatar

Vinay Gopal Y.

Yelp
The place always surprises me with they food. I agree its nit the neatest and cleanest Indian restaurants around, but the taste has never disappointed mr in two years now and things they specialize in like the goat crossaint and other bakery items is what makes them really unique and special. Their 8.99 lunch buffet is an absolute steal, coz its not exorbitant like other. Just 10-12 things and everything tastes good, most of the times. Inly suggestion to the management is to tidy up the place a little if they want to see more foot fall coz that might turn a few people away.
google avatar

Maggie D.

Yelp
Wow this place is packing FLAVOR in each bite of delicious food. Everything we ordered was incredible: the samosas, the croissants, puffs & this time we tried the paneer tikka masala. Fantastic affordable & made with love. A true gem!
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
Nan bread is outstanding and so many delish desserts too! Don't let the window display deceive you!

Sundar N.

Yelp
This place uses plastic and styrofoam. I had vegetable puff and vada pav. The quality of food was pretty bad. The place is not very clean and does not look hygienic. I have my feedback to the person at the restaurant.
google avatar

Jay G.

Yelp
Tried this place as it keeps showing up on yelp for Indian place around Woburn. The food is stale. We tried 4 items, and none of them was good. Puff was too oily, jalebi had dalda in it. The bread caught fungus in a day. Avoid this place if you can or until they serve fresh items.
google avatar

Maryam S.

Yelp
My experience here was very pleasant. A family friend recommended getting jalebi (south Asian sweets) here. The guy helping was very friendly and let us try the jalebi. I ordered a whole tray for my dinner party and it was delicious! $50!
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Delicious paneer masala and pava dav sandwiches ( might've said it wrong) super cheap for Covid times too. I spent $26 and left with apps, full dinner, dessert and other goodies!!! Tasty and authentic. Small place. Yes they did give me stuff to heat up in the microwave but nothing tasted stale or old as other reviews say. I followed their instructions and it tasted just like it came out of the pot!! My husband liked it too. We're going back for more!!!
google avatar

Amey K.

Yelp
There goat puff, goat crossaint and vegetable samosas are excellent and are must try. If you are fan of sweets then try there saffron and jaggery jalebi. I also really like their pav bhaaji, much better than pav bhaaji I had at other places in MA. Good place to visit with friends and family.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
This place shows it's open and they accept orders once you go there to pick up food you will realize it's closed
google avatar

Aditya P.

Yelp
Order was not ready when we reached there. It seemed that food was not fresh, inclusive the bread.

Yelp
This place definitely stands out from the regular indian restaurants. They focus more on the snacks, chaat items and pastries. Not to mention their biryani definitely stands out from the rest. Hot breads is a chain more like a indian version of McDonalds. You will find Hot-breads across most of the major cities in US. I truly hope that this restaurant spreads across the nation. I never knew that hot-breads existed in and around boston area until a common friend of mine introduced me and from then on i have been a frequent visitor at this spot. I come here probably once every month and sometimes more than that. I have come here with my friends, with my family and my bill never went past 50$. The food is inexpensive and the quality is great. Honestly i would have given a 5-star but for the appearance and maintenance. I wish they take care of the look and feel of hot-breads. I have been a frequent customer to the hot breads in irving, texas when i lived there and now the hotbreads in woburn, MA. Hotbreads never dis-appoints. Now coming to the food, the chicken biryani is priced at 9.99$ and it is definitely on par. The pastries are fresh and good. My personnel favorites are mixed fruit, pine-apple and strawberry. I have tried their samosa chat, vada pav, aloo tikki chat, pav-bhaaji. Pav-bhaaji disappointed me a bit but the rest were excellent. Not to mention i never miss their andhra spicy dosa. It never disappoints. I have also tried their chicken korma and ordered extra spicy, definitely lives up to the expectation. I have probably taken all my visiting guests to Hot-breads lol :).

Yelp
3.5 stars to be exact. I have to mention. It's got its momentum to reach 4 stars. I am in a mission - Dragon Ball Z like mission where Goku and his crews aimlessly wondering around with very little clues to find 7 Dragon Balls. My dragon ball is "Kati roll" - Indian taco(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kati_roll). I've seen one in NYC but I am hoping to find one in Boston area. Having post a thread to ask if any fellow Yelpers having seen ones, I've got a few tips via PM(instead of replying to the thread). And this "Hot Breads" in Woburn was included in one of tips I received. I called ahead to ask if they have Kati rolls. They had no clue what I was talking about. But having seen "rolls" in their menu, my denial of nonexistence of Kati rolls remained strong. Hence I went on the journey. The shop is located in the heart of downtown Woburn. From outside, it appears to be a plain bakery because of fake wedding cakes displayed by the window. As you entered, you will see series of pastry. It's not as big as Mike's Pastry in N. End. However, it did reminded me of it. Also, there was a small buffet bar on the side. Selections aren't so big. But this shop's identity is "bakery". You shouldn't be complaining. You should regard this as a "bonus". Customer service? Well.. not so great. But I was not offended. This is the place where you have to keep tackling to get used to their protocol. I do have a few places elsewhere where I feel superior to other unfamiliar customers and I could order things in abbreviated or encrypted lingo that is particular to those shops. And this place seems to be one of them. Therefore, I felt rushed to pick items. But I kept my objective clear - Kati rolls. So I asked for "rolls" and biryani(Indian fried rice). The "roll" wasn't a Kati roll. It was a bread, not a taco. It almost looked like a coffee roll. I was disappointed but it was not their fault. It was my denial that made a trip to this place. And I ate a "chicken curry roll" as I was driving back. It was delicious. It would've been so awesome if I ate when it was warm. It had a croissant texture and it had very flavorful curry and chicken meat inside. Biryani? Not so great. It had too many bones instead of meat. But I did get what I paid for. Mostly biryani costs at least $11 anywhere. But this one must have cost $7 at the most because I paid $10 for both the roll and biryani. I've eaten a cheap, crappy, bone bonanza biryani like this one from shitty Indian joint in Jackson Heights in Queens NY which is "Little India". Next time, I'd like to try their other pasties and possibly their small buffet bar. My Kati roll journey continues... stay tuned....

Yelp
Is a place worth driving all the way from Weymouth to Woburn. My friend thought so and I had my fingers crossed. Food - Got the wada paav for appetizers. Looked delicious but had too much massala in it. I had to chuck half of it. We got the biryani for the table. And it was worth the drive. Ambience &nService - The place needs to get itsbact together with regards to cleanliness. I suggest one gets a to go. Cost - Value for money $10 per pax - Table sharing.

Yelp
This is a cool place. A Indian BAKERY! I stopped in because I read the good reviews and I work close, so it was meant to be. There seemed to be less selection than the others report, as it was the end of the day. I strayed from the sweets (even though they looked good-n-pretty) and I choose some chicken paneer marsala croissant, and marsala puffs, and a mini pizza looking thing. 4 pieces for under $5!! Very cool!
google avatar

Brendan T.

Yelp
This place is a diamond in the rough in the middle of this solidly and proudly middle of the road, suburban Massachusetts city. I didn't get to try any of the traditional looking Indian sweet treats. The unique savory snacks, particularly the awesome chicken tikka croissant were delicious, wholly original, and astonishingly cheap. The staff proved to be sweethearts all around. Def worth a stop if you find yourself in this pretty random locale for some reason.

Shr R.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place a 0 star rating. I ordered the small mini samosas that were 75c each and it was spoilt, took a bite and it was disgusting. Not sure how many weeks old it was, just sitting stale on the counter. The eggless pastries were also terrible and mirchi bajji was extremely stale. If you want to fall sick, please visit this place. Not sure how this restaurant is still thriving!
google avatar

Varun S.

Yelp
Did a takeout from them for PavBhaji, Paneer Panini, Dabeli and Paneer puff. Everything was too oily and the panini had rotten lettuce leaves in it. We had bad stomach after eating for the whole night.

Esha R.

Yelp
The food was pathetic, stale and soggy! I feel sick after eating the dishes. The croissant and chicken puff were both soggy. Chicken 65 was greasy and weird tasting. "Soggy Breads"
google avatar

Vijay B.

Yelp
As good as it gets! I am a big fan of this place. I've been here many times and tried many things including Cookies, Biriyani, Veg Puff, Chai etc and loved everything.
google avatar

So S.

Yelp
I'm all about holes in the walls if they are good and serve fresh food but this place did not make the cut. I'm surprised by all the good reviews. There are much better indian places with fresh buffet here in Ma. Their buffet looked like it was at least 3 days old. Place was not clean and the pastries looked very old. I won't return.
google avatar

Manjari A.

Yelp
Best Indian chat I have eaten here in the USA. A humble place on a busy street, generally prefer a take-out from here. Love their Pav Bhaji, Vegetable Panini(grilled sandwich with real flavorful mint chutney). Bhel Puri and Vada Pav were real good too. They are flexible with their spice levels which I really appreciate.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Went here a couple of times as it is close to work and very few Savory Indian bakeries around. This store is extremely unhygienic, the food twice was rotten, must have been days old( once samosa was sour second time mutton biryani was sour). While the rest of the time the food was good, it wasn't consistent and there is absolutely no hygiene or cleanliness standard. Must mention their pav bread is really good.

Manohar R.

Yelp
Over the years , quality has been deteriorating steadily. Place is dirty. Hot food is getting less tastier but extremely spicier to the point of being unhealthy and you will feel it at least for 2-3 days. Repeated reminder to make spiciness mild fall on deaf ears.
google avatar

Sampada P.

Yelp
The food is super tasty here. They have some items which are a rare find in other Indian restaurants around Boston. I have had their veg biryani, bhaji and other items on several occasions. I just noticed that they serve dabeli too. And that is going to be my next order when I visit. The prices are super cheap too. Just a bit unsure about hygiene but that's how real Indian street food is ;) Well I hope the health inspector has nothing to complain about. But overall yummy yummy food, very much close to authentic Indian.
google avatar

Syed E.

Yelp
Amazing bakery Delicious Fresh But more importantly it is very affordable and good for daily basis take away.
google avatar

Su R.

Yelp
See. The food is bad. If you are fine with Indian college side super local food stalls, this is good for that. In terms of food, I might give a 2/5. Ambience 1/5. Cleanliness and hygiene : (-10)/5. (That's a minus). Decent fast food Hotels in India will be much better maintained. The guy took 50 minutes to serve 4 dosas. That is an epic wait time. Not at all hygienic. I wouldn't go here unless you want a specific tasting food.

IVAN H.

Yelp
My best friend took me there and after ordered we request 'please don't microwave our food" and they get upset, two nasty guys yelling to my female friend because our request, I missed 99% of the "chat" because I don't speak hindi, so I decided to take my friend out of the place because they were getting worse and worse. 1 star is too much, it was a very unpleasant experience. Plus the place looks very dirty, thank you but NOT thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
I loved this place ...the food was simply awesome and reminded me of the 'DHABA' style food back in India ... 2 yrs in US and I have never eaten puffs or fusion food ... this place is a dream come true ... I tried the paneer croissant and that was simply awesome ... I even ordered the paneer masala which was really tasty and reminded of the food at Dhaba's back in india ... i took some cookies back with me which taste gr8 with my Chai in the morning ... i can't wait to try th pastries ... i loved the service ... everybody was super friendly .. i can't go back to try the rest of the dishes ...i intend to taste each and evey item in their menu .. definitely a place i can take my friends too ....

Yelp
Guys, this is AUTHENTIC and SINCERE Indian food! I have been to many of the other Indian restaurants, such as Rani, Ghazal, Mela, Indian Dhaba, Desi Dhaba, Curry House on Coolidge Corner, Mumbai Chopstix, Dosai Factory, etc., and this is the absolute best! I just went today with a friend, and we're both Indian. I'm the epicurean between the two of us as well as an excellent cook. She ordered the Andra (sic - supposed to be "Andhra") Dosa, and I had a chili and onion uttapam. Oh my goodness, this was so authentic and nice! I also had 2 servings of tea/chai, and they made that perfectly as well. Finally, we also had 3 biscuits - all of different flavors. They were very similar to Danish pastries, and they were great over all. They go perfectly with tea. The owner is Vijay Yalamanchili, and coincidentally, there is an Indo-American running for Congress in Ohio as a Democrat who is named Surya Yalamanchili, and on the merits of Surya's surname, I'm voting for him....except that I live in Boston. Guys, the experience of eating here is remarkably as Indian as it gets -for better or worse. I mean, my table wasn't so clean, which is OK because my utensils were. The service was very nice, and the people were hospitable, big-hearted, just like what you get in India. Just like India, they misspell all the English words on their menu, and they have a shrine inside the building honoring Hindu gods and saints, which I think is cool, even though I'm not Hindu. Again, very authentic. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and next time, I'm eating some non-veg out there, and I'm a new vegetarian. Finally, two people can share one dish. So, like in India, it's very value-oriented.

Yelp
I came here on the recommendation of a friend. This review is for the bakery portion only. I got a box of cookies and they were all pretty good. The problem was that aside from the jeera, they all tasted the same with different nuts on top (not that that's a bad thing). It would have been nice if the man behind the counter pointed out that one type of cookie had hot spice in it. Thankfully, I could smell the spice before I took a bite. I thought my nose must be deceiving me but only took a tiny bite. Yep hot & spicy cookie, thanks but no thanks. Those went in the trash. I will go back next time I'm up that way to try the buffet. They were loading it while we were there but we had just eaten so weren't hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
From the Outside it looks like some random Bakery, down to the faux Wedding Cake in the Window. I walked in and one single solitary tear rolled down my cheek. I smelled Garam Masala. I was home. This is the only place I've found in town so far that isn't afraid to include Flavor when cooking. When the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked how spicy I wanted my food it took everything thing I am to not to reach across the counter and kiss him like we were auditioning for Titanic Part 2: Cruise Control. They have all the Indian Food staples and do them well. I haven't tried the cake, but the cookies go well with the awesome Chai and the Croissants and other pastries are tasty and creative (Paneer Croissant, anyone). If you go around Dinner time expect a bit of a wait because you won't be the only one....

Yelp
"Hot Breads" is totally not what you'd expect. I'd driven by this place many times without a second glance, as I'd assumed that it was a bog-standard Bread bakery. How wrong I was. If it weren't for a co-worker's recommendation, I'd have never discovered this gem of a place. Upon entering, you're greeted with a standard cake display counter, but the real gems to be had here are not up front - no, they're behind the counter and in the display case to the left. Here you'll find all manner of delicious Indian goodies, and some things which I'd never seen before. Croissants stuffed with keema and Tikka Masala? Brilliant! And incredibly yummy! I shared my findings with a few of my Bostonian friends, and I undertook an occasional part-time keema-croissant delivery service. They're that good! They also have other Indian dishes - sadly, I'm just not familiar enough with Indian cuisine to have made educated decisions on what to order there. Suffice to say, the food there is good, and tasty, especially for the more adventurous. Food: Excellent food, some twists on some familiar themes. A bit greasy at times - but they're croissants, so you've got to kind of expect tha. Value: Good value. Tasty food for a reasonable price. Ambiance: It's just a bakery counter with a few tables for you to stand-and-eat at. They have a small counter with some flatware and a water pitcher too. Functional and relatively clean. Service: Order-counter service. It's really just a bakery with some eating space. Bottom line: Try the keema croissant and the Goat puff. YUM! It was a favorite haunt when I lived in Woburn.

Yelp
Never take late evening takeout of birayani from them, specifically on sunday night. We were returning back home on sunday night after long travel and thought of doing take away from hot breads woburn. When i called them, they said that I can only get the birayani in take away. When i reached at shop, they had ice cold box of birayani ready. When i asked the guy why birayani is nit hot, he explained me that they just kept it in fridge. I asked about the dum, he told me that they prepare the rice and put dum only once in a day. I was surprised at that response, but thought may be thats how it is. When I went back home and opened the box, it was sheer disappointment. it was like they just added up the leftover vegetables on top of pulav and served it as birayani to us. Really had worst experience that night.vv

Yelp
Their paneer pastry puff is the best! The chicken tikka masala one is decent. If you're a young Indian female and you come in here with a make, you will get a ton of stares.

Gauri B.

Yelp
Super spicy food with no flavor. Giving 1 start as that's the least I can give. Goat curry had just bones. The very little meat it had was super chewy. They serve pre-made food buy just warming in the microwave in the plastic to-go container. It was worse that the frozen food. I am looking at the positive reviews and they surely look made up. Vada pao was no way like vada pao. Just spicy potato with garam masala and fried earlier in besan batter with too much eating soda in it. No what so ever flavor. Even the uttapa looked premade Goat biryani was soggy with typical previously frozen taste. Pavbhaji was the same no flavor just spice. My MIL who loves spicy didn't like it either. And trust me I can handle heat if the food has flavor. The worse mean of our vacation. Almost got me worried that it will spoil my rest of the 2 days of the trip. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this shady place.

Yelp
Nothing was fresh on a Saturday morning, stopped to try this place on our way to Boston, big mistake! The man at the counter was unnecessarily unfriendly. Service definitely gets 0 stars! I usually like to support local Indian places, but the food was horrible, extremely greasy, had to wipe off grease with napkins, they don't have a clue regarding the spices, seemed like they dumped an entire box of spice mix into the dish without checking for proportions.
