Best Restaurants in Cambridge’s Inman Square | Eater Boston

"Hot Chix is the perfect takeout or casual dine-in spot for Nashville-style hot chicken. Try the tenders plate where the chicken is the star, but every component down to the toasty buttery bread is delightful. Mushroom lovers will love the fried mushroom sandwich with remoulade, cole slaw, and dill pickles." - Karen Wilber

Tasty, quality food. Friendly service. Convenient location in Medford Square. Multiple delivery options. While there is seating for ten, it’s cozy. I usually get takeout but dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and had the place to myself. As with any small shop, pick up yourself if you can so a) you don’t pay delivery fees and b) they don’t lose money to the likes of Uber and DoorDash.

Great value for delicious food! Huge portions, well flavored, and wonderful service. The restaurant has only a few seats but it’s very clean with a nice interior, perfect for a quick meal. The tandoori chicken was tender and juicy. Goat bhuna was really rich with complex spices and there were so many pieces of real meat here unlike many other restaurants. Naan, roti, rice were substantial and I definitely had food coma after. Lassi was very refreshing and not overly sweet. If you like spicy food make sure to ask for ‘very spicy’ because medium is too safe ;)

Mashallah wonderful service and good food. I got the half Tandoori Chicken and it was tasty. The Naan was great. Their customer service is top notch. Quite a lot of Bangladeshi people works there and they were super kind and friendly. I was impressed by their manor. They do close for iftaar (during Ramadan) so plan to call in ahead and come after the iftaar. Lots of paid and street parking nearby which is a plus.

Oh how delicious! The samosas, the rice, the curry the naan, it was simply out of this world! A very small little place in Medford square, but absolutely worth it!

We ordered through grubhub and went to pick up the food and the restaurant was closed. We tried to call the restaurant and they would not answer their phone. Grubhub charged me anyway. Do not order takeout without speaking to someone and placing the order over the phone. Do not use Grub hub

Food is great but professionalism is horrendous. They canceled my order with no explanation, extremely unprofessional and I will no longer be supporting them

This was the worst Indian food i have ever had! The Chicken Tikka Masala was not fresh. The chicken pieces had a rotten taste. The Chicken Biryani was tasteless and the piece of chicken was stale. The Naan was very rubbery. Everything went straight to the trash. Not going to order from here ever again!

This is a great local eatery and the biggest sign of that is the food does take a little bit of time to prepare. I have had the seasonal pumpkin soup as well as other curry dishes and they were delicious and most certainly home made tasting. This is the real stuff!

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about HCH! Beef Roganjosh is an absolute MUST, and the Biryani is huge and perfectly seasoned. Garlic naan was buttery and very much not afraid of garlic, and the samosa were huge and perfectly golden fried! If you're not in the mood for sumptuous Indian / Bangladeshi fare, the fried chicken feels like being transported to a bodega in Queens or the Bronx... just SHATTERINGLY crispy and flavorful. Ask for extra tamarind sauce to dunk it in, or crack open a bottle of Franks and go to town! If all this wasn't enough, the staff at Hot Chix are incredibly friendly and generous, and the menu overall is (in my opinion) super affordable! If you've been on the fence, you should definitely take the plunge!!

Yelp
Very disappointed. Hot Chix Halal had been recommended to me. We ordered vegetable samosas, naan and a twenty-piece fried chicken. We probably should have ordered more traditional items; however we were just looking for snack food during a game and, based upon the reviews, expected that everything would be good. The samosas were ok, but the fried chicken were clearly just chicken nuggets that they purchased frozen. They were dry and had no flavor. Somehow, this order was $55 and was hardly enough for 2 people. It appears that was misinformed about this restaurant. I will not be ordering from there again.

Yelp
Friendly people, great kebabs, convenient location! Hot Chix has been a place I've wanted to try for a while and finally got the chance. I ordered some pakoras (crispy, flavorful), shish kebab (well-seasoned, on the firm side), and naan (big and tasty), and enjoyed every bite. Their hours change a bit throughout the week so be sure to take a look before you order. Also, keep in mind that it's takeout - it's a narrow storefront with a deep kitchen so it really shines as a place to run in, grab your food and go.

Yelp
When they first opened up, the food was Absolutely excellent. Now it's just OK, they are cheap on ingredients and using an enormous amount of oil. so what you get are containers with three or four pieces of small meats and the rest is oil. So at this point in time it's not a good value and the amount of oil will actually make you sick. I wish that they would go back to what they would like when they first opened, I don't mind paying more for good food. I don't like paying more for greasy oily food. Even the rice is greasy.!

Yelp
I hate to give a bad review but this place is the worst! I got several orders of biryani and it was basically all rice! No onions, no peppers, no peas, no cashews, no almonds, no raisins, no cilantro, and no soup! There was a couple pieces of meat on a bunch of rice and that was it. When I questioned the owner about it he was super rude, unpleasant, and spoke to me like I was the problem... I've never experienced anything like this before. Do NOT give this business your money.

Yelp
Didn't have anything ordered on grub hub and half the order got cancelled because they didn't have it including chicken. Go somewhere else

Yelp
Reviews made it sound better than it actually is. Rotisserie chicken was reasonably tender but flavorless. Mulligatawny soup was good.

Yelp
This small and excellent Indian food spot has recently Expanded - to about 12 seats! ;) - still terrific food, we've never been disappointed there. the Nan, in particular is delicious. the owner, Alan (sp?) ran a successful spot in highly competitive Portland for years but moved south for family reasons. We are the fortunate benefactors. We stop by for lunch occasionally and strongly recommend it.

Kelsey M.

Yelp
Love this place! You must try the Chicken 65. Other favorites are their tasty samosas and pakoras. My partner is in love with the mulligatawny and mixed grill. We will keep coming back for more!

Yelp
Maybe the most flavorful food I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of different types of food.) I've had a lamb dish and a chicken dish and they were incredible. Even my boyfriend who's kind of picky absolutely loved it. I'm so blown away by this place.
