After Labor Day, it was my last day at the beach in Cape May, NJ. The town was much quieter, and I'd heard great things about "Hot Dog Tommy's",so my sister and I decided to get lunch at Hot Dog Tommy's. We could not find parking, so I just got out and let her park while I checked out their menu. It's just so different than any other hot dog stand I've ever been to, and I loved all the choices. Their topping on a dog seemed so interesting, but I got scared I would order the wrong thing and hate it. Some of their topping were strange, for instance, a hot dog with Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Someone I know loves that, but I decided to get the "Rub-an," and yes, all their dogs have names: the "Chili dog," the "New Yorker," and so on. They had dogs topped with French Fries, anything and everything dogs, and I got a bowl instead. The chili bowl had Chili, mashed potatoes, chopped red onion, sour cream, and Sharp Cheddar Cheese, which was delicious. I recommend Tommy's, but he is only open on weekends now, and he said he closes shop till the spring; he is located in Cape May, NJ, at 319 Beach Ave on a side street. He has a walk-up window to place your order; no seating or restrooms exist. There was no waiting in line for us, but during the summer season, I know the lines get long, and that alone says a lot about Tommy Dogs; it's worth the wait. The prices were moderate. Im looking forward to coming back next year.
