The Best Gluten-Free Pizza in the Bay Area - Eater SF

"Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, it’s immediately clear that Hot Italian put a lot of effort into its gluten-free dough. The Stella (pictured) is a particularly good pie, with prosciutto, mushrooms, crescenza cheese, and an egg." - Eater Staff

Surprised, I found the pizza to be really tasty and properly cooked. The interior of the place is a bit sparce and lacks ambience. Not a huge fan of the amount of corn meal they put on the bottom of the pizza. Pizza would be better if they skipped this. Materazzi pizza amazing with calamata olives, recommended.

The pizzas were fantastic. The waiters were very attentive and cheerful. They did give us a little more time to order when we requested. I judge a pizzeria based on how they make their Margherita Pizzas, and Hot Italian did not disappoint. The base was thin, perfect amount of sauce and cheese.

Can't deny the pizza was great. However the service is not where it should be. There was only one person working the front. Here said to us come on in sit anywhere it is clean (which wasn't many places). None of our plates or cups were very clean. They were out of bread for paninis. The list of things I was unsatisfied with goes on BUT the food is good.

Great pizza and other Italian options. For the price of the pie this is our go to spot for pizza and gelato in the east bay! Great place to hide under tables 🤷🏻‍♂️😬

The pizza was amazing. The stuff was friendly but not very professional. They seemed to want to do well but not sure what they were supposed to do and when. Chairs are old and supper shaky (broken?..) and the tables could have been a bit cleaner. Also, it’s cold there. I might go back for that pizza, but the place needs some new chairs and better cleaners. Also, when you say “may I have this to go” if would be nice if they took your plate and boxed the food for you, rather than brought out the boxes for you to fiddle with them. This lack of courtesy kind of gives it a fast-food vibe. The prices are far from fast food, though.

Pizza was decent. Gelato was delicious. Service on a Friday, while there was a game, was very poor. We had to keep asking for water and utensils. Plates didn't come out with our food because they were still being washed. Didn't leave a good impression for my first time there.
