We were in Vegas for the weekend and decided to explore Old Vegas. While walking around Fremont Street, we found this seafood spot within walking distance. When we got there, it wasn’t busy, which was a nice break from the craziness of the Strip. They had football on the TVs, which added to the chill vibe.
Our server was super friendly and got our order placed quickly. The food came out fast, which we appreciated. We ordered a pound of shrimp (no head) for $19, and added corn and potatoes for about $4 extra. The hot and juicy sauce mix we got was really good—not too spicy, just flavorful enough.
Here’s where things went downhill: when we started eating, we realized the shrimp weren’t deveined. That really threw us off. My boyfriend was completely grossed out because we always assume it’s poop when the shrimp isn’t deveined. It killed the whole vibe for him. He tried to eat some, but the thought of it got to him, and he ended up throwing up once we got back to the hotel.
The potatoes were honestly the best part of the meal, but the shrimp ruined the experience. If they offered an option to have the shrimp deveined for an extra charge, that would’ve made a huge difference. The service and atmosphere were great, but we can’t enjoy seafood if it isn’t cleaned properly. For that reason, we won’t be back.
