The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Also in Rogers Park, Hot N' Spicy is the latest addition to Devon’s restaurant-filled strip. The menu is mainly made up of handhelds, like paratha rolls filled with beef or chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, and bun kabab." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

Hot N' Spicy Chicago - Review - Rogers Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Hot N' Spicy is one of many Pakistani spots on Devon’s restaurant-filled strip. The menu is mainly made up of handhelds, like paratha rolls filled with beef or chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, and bun kabab. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Came here as my inner Karachiite was craving for good rolls. Unfortunately the taste isn't as authentic as it claims to be on social media and by other reviewers. Rolls are good but the ratio of paratha to meat is pretty bad. Less meat more paratha. Chutneys are great. So are fries. But rolls need massive improvement. Customer service is great

I have no idea how this place has such a high rating. I went there tonight, Sunday evening. My first experience walking in was there was nobody at the register, but there was a so I rung it. Nobody came out for 5 minutes. It was only when the phone rang that the woman who was working there came out. I wanted to order the kebab roll, which comes with fries (only if you dine in apparently). I asked if it was masala fries and she said no it was plain. I asked if I could substitute it. But she just flat out said no. Normally at restaurants if you want to substitute something like the side, there’s an option to do so and you usually let the customer know that there is gonna be an up charge (side note, I’ve seen pics of the other reviews and the fries that come w the wrap seem to be masala fries?). Anyways, I ended up ordering the burger w a side of masala fries, and I said I wanted their hot and spicy special sauce on the side. She said it was going to be 20 to 25 minutes. I decided to wait and it did come much sooner than that which was good. Mind you the restaurant was completely empty when she gave me this wait time. But again, I do not know what their online ordering backlog was so can’t really blame her for the estimated time. When the burger comes, not only is the bun burnt on top The patty is also rock hard, overcooked, burnt, and dry. The worst part? It’s smothered in barbecue sauce and those there is barbecue sauce on the side!!! So either she did not hear me or the burgers I guess regularly come with barbecue sauce? It was the most disgusting burger I’ve ever eaten. My father, who is a Pakistani man who barely knows how to operate a stove can make a better burger than that. It comes with Swiss cheese or some sort of random white cheese that was not even melted properly on top. Everything was sort of room temperature. I did go up and ask for the special sauce and napkins, because none were provided. They didn’t have a cutlery station with napkins, utensils, or anything. That said, the special sauce was so gross. It’s not even a mayo. It’s some sort of weird, fake, oily version of mayo. And it’s not spicy! I don’t know if it’s supposed to be. But then don’t call it a hot and spicy sauce? I think they have an opportunity to start describing their menu options so that people know what they are getting since the staff are incapable of providing any sort of information or service. Finally, when I wanted to go wash my hands from that disgusting barbecue sauce, smothered all over my burger, both of the bathrooms were allegedly out of order. I have never had a disappointing meal on Devon until today. Horrible customer service. Horrible food. Don’t open a restaurant if you don’t care about what you’re putting out there. Was a shame .

Authentic Karachi paratha roll taste! Taste 8/10 Nice guy at the counter. Clean and presentable. Beef boti roll absolutely under cooked though.

Horrible customer service. The lady serving there doesn’t have a tongue. She is doing a great favor by working there. Why do they have incense sticks on? It smells horrible. Food is just ok. Dont believe on those on social media who say this is a good place to eat. They are paid for their content.

This was my second time visiting within the last week or so since I wanted to give them a second chance. The rolls taste good but serving size is not best value for money. The service is well below average. They lady at counter needs to improve her customer service skills. They also need to be transparent with the charges in addition to food + taxes. Really hope they raise their standards in service and improve the prices since one is left hungry even after spending 15+ dollars.

They claim their rolls have a same taste like Karachi, I would say the taste is good but nowhere close to Karachi. The lady cashier is extremely rude. The restaurant is very cheap gave us very few fries with roll, and the chutney and mayo sauce were given in the smallest to-go container, which was also half-empty, and we weren't even able to dip rolls in that tiny container.
