The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Also in Rogers Park, Hot N' Spicy is the latest addition to Devon’s restaurant-filled strip. The menu is mainly made up of handhelds, like paratha rolls filled with beef or chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, and bun kabab." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen

Hot N' Spicy Chicago - Review - Rogers Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Hot N' Spicy is one of many Pakistani spots on Devon’s restaurant-filled strip. The menu is mainly made up of handhelds, like paratha rolls filled with beef or chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, and bun kabab. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Came here as my inner Karachiite was craving for good rolls. Unfortunately the taste isn't as authentic as it claims to be on social media and by other reviewers. Rolls are good but the ratio of paratha to meat is pretty bad. Less meat more paratha. Chutneys are great. So are fries. But rolls need massive improvement. Customer service is great

On my way back, I picked up the Chicken Mayo Garlic Roll and the Beef Bihari Roll from Hot N' Spicy Chicago. The Chicken Mayo Garlic Roll was quite enjoyable, with a well-balanced flavor and satisfying texture. However, the Beef Bihari Roll fell short of expectations—the meat was overly soft, bordering on mushy, and seemed to lack substance. It felt as though it was filled more with a spiced masala paste than actual meat. While the spice level was agreeable, the overall execution of the roll left room for improvement.

Tried beef behari roll and chicken Mayo Garlic roll. Both were fantastic. Paratha is perfect, not too greasy but still the legit paratha. The place is cozy and clean, staff is super friendly. Service is quick!

I had high expectations for this restaurant, given its reputation as a franchise from Pakistan, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was off-putting—taped-up decor, exposed wiring, and a general lack of upkeep made the place feel neglected. To make matters worse, the restrooms were out of service, adding to the overall discomfort. The service was even worse. The staff was extremely rude, and a simple request to get the fries (which were clearly mentioned as part of the special) was met with attitude. As for the food, the parathas were drenched in oil, making them almost inedible. Overall, this was a pathetic experience, and I highly doubt I’ll be returning. If you’re expecting the same quality and hospitality as the original Pakistani franchise, this place will only leave you disappointed.

Had this food catered for take out. It was very delicious! I loved the chicken kabab roll especially. It was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Actually, everything was just amazing from here. The kheer was always very rich and thick as well. It is definitely a must try in my book. I will be trying out more dishes from here soon. Such a great experience

I had the pleasure of ordering a selection of dishes during my recent dining experience, including the delectable garlic naan bread, the flavorful chicken tikka masala, and a serving of the aromatic biryani. I must applaud the culinary expertise displayed in every aspect of these dishes. The garlic naan was flawlessly baked to a perfect golden hue, boasting a tantalizing aroma and a soft, chewy texture that paired wonderfully with the accompanying dishes. The chicken tikka masala was a true highlight. The tender pieces of chicken were immersed in a creamy tomato-based sauce, bursting with a harmonious blend of spices that danced on my taste buds with each bite. It was evident that the chefs had masterfully balanced the flavors to create a memorable culinary experience. And of course, the biryani was a true testament to the art of Indian cuisine. The fragrant basmati rice was expertly layered with succulent pieces of meat, fragrant spices, and aromatic herbs. Each forkful revealed a new dimension of taste and aroma, making it a delightful and satisfying choice. In summary, I cannot recommend this dining establishment enough. The attention to detail in each dish, the freshness of the ingredients, and the skillful preparation all contribute to an exceptional dining experience. If you are seeking an authentic and memorable culinary journey, I wholeheartedly encourage you to pay a visit.

Authentic Karachi paratha roll taste! Taste 8/10 Nice guy at the counter. Clean and presentable. Beef boti roll absolutely under cooked though.
