"Hot Pie, situated in downtown West Palm on Olive Street between Clematis and Datura, epitomizes the local pizza dive bar. Diners are often so focused on enjoying their piping hot pizza that the inconvenience of having someone pick up the order while another person circles the block seems trivial. A true Palm Beach County experience includes the smell of Hot Pie’s pizza on the passenger seat, with the anticipation of reaching home before it cools." - J. Miller

Yelp
We love this place! It's just a nice little spot, kinda cozy and everyone is super friendly. We've gone with friends a few times to watch women's basketball games and have drinks and pizza. We absolutely adore the bartender, she's so sweet and kind. Everyone loves the pizza. As a vegan, I went out on a limb and brought some vegan cheese and asked if they would use it and they did! I got a veggie pizza and it was delicious. The beer is also super cold every pour which is nice and refreshing. This is really a great go to spot.

Yelp
Pie was good, service was good! Can't go wrong with this little spot! I crushed the pizza with the help of my pooch eating bites of the crust! It hit the spot and was just what i was looking for, wood fired pizza! The lady even brought my pup so water to sip on as we sat outside!

Christina L.

Yelp
Casual pizza joint with super friendly staff, a few blocks off Clematis downtown. We ordered our pizzas crispy upon a rec from waitress and liked how they came out. Johnny's New Yorker pizza is super simple and tasty

Madeline J.

Yelp
Best pizza in downtown! Meatball special was a stand out! Nice quiet bar to have a meal and watch a game with a cold beer.

Stuart M.

Yelp
Best pizza round! I'm from New York and pizza aficionado and this place has the best pizza called the Johnny New Yorker and they're regular pizzas. Awesome, too. Don't be fooled.

Yelp
This was my first time venturing to Hot Pie. There were not many expectations coming in, but the Caesar Salad I ordered was on par with expectations. The salad was a bit small, but the cheese bread (made from their pizza dough) made up for the lack of salad. Although the service was friendly, it seemed a bit unfocused, with many waitstaff members trying to take care of us.

Yelp
Ordered for a delivery of an Italian Supreme Pizza on a Sunday night and honestly I should have ordered dominos or papa Johns. The pizza was just a greasy mess of vegetables with no sign of sausage. At first my family was angry because they thought the resultant gave us the wrong pizza, but after doing a thorough search, I was able to find a very minuscule amount of sausage in the pizza. You can't call this an Italian supreme if there is no good portion of meat! What's worse, the little sausage we got, had great flavor! After this pizza, my loyalty to Dominos just intensified 1000 fold.

Yelp
Food and services was satisfying. Some of the best coal fire pizza I have had in awhile. I will be coming back next time I am in town. They also kept my airpods safe after I left them there. (8.8/10) Love yours, ExquisiteTasteBuds

Yelp
We stop by here a lot after work and pizza is some of the best in Palm Beach! I personally like the white pizza, but all of their food is good. The drinks are good too, and the staff and service is always friendly and welcoming! Almost everything on the menu is excellent, kind of like your favorite New York Pizza pub. They have comfortable booths inside, window seats if you want to be in the air conditioning and seating inside, or outside seating. It's a neighborhood place where you run into friends if you're from the area, and it has that Cheers bar kind of a feeling. Dog friendly

Yelp
Excellent thin crust pizza from a coal-fired oven! We had a margarita pizza that was done just right. Hot Pie calls it "Johnny's New Yorker. They have a coal-fired pizza oven, which imho is far superior to electric ovens. They taste so much better. Being from the New Haven area, I might be considered a pizza snob as some of the best pizza places on the planet like Pepe's and Sally's are based there. I'm not saying Hot Pie is in that class, but they are solid.

Yelp
Best Pizza in West Palm Beach. The closest thing to Brooklyn pizza I have ever had. I will be back every week. Thank you for the great food, ambiance, and service!

Saqui R.

Yelp
Not a bad pizza. Had half plain and half Pepperoni. Had to try as Dave Portnoy gave it a 7.5 I feel it was just a little better than that. I miss my NJ Pizza, but this place will do for now. Only if it were just a little more firm. Great Crust though. I'll definitely go back again.

Barry O.

Yelp
Pizza was great, as always. I had eggplant parmigiana tonite and it was fantastic. And our server Mia was so delightful. I've gone to Hot Pie for years, but tonite was so good I just had to post a review

David Z.

Yelp
After a Dave Portnoy pizza review, I gave this place a chance (he rated it fairly high). The pizza was mediocre and the cheese didn't even stick to the tomato sauce.

David R.

Yelp
Wow! Great place. Some of the best pizza and wings I've ever eaten. Full bar with unbelievable selection. Johnny, the owner of, is larger than life. A must place to dine!!!

James N.

Yelp
Amazing pizza, good beer, great people, great atmosphere! Best pizza in west palm beach by far.

Food Lover S.

Yelp
Spectacular. I wish I took a picture but either way the pie looked perfect like many of the other pictures. I had a plain cheese pizza. I'm a NY pizza lover. Great crust and perfect cheese to sauce ratio. I don't know what else to say. On the One Bite scale I'll gladly give it an 8.1. That's a heck of a high score but it deserves it.

Michael D.

Yelp
Stopped in for the business lunch special (two cheese slices and a salad). But saw Johnny's New Yorker pie go to another table and had to pivot. Was very glad I did. The dough was flavorful and had a nice crisp. The San Marzanno sauce was sweet and delicious. One of the better coal fired pies I've had in the area.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Thin crust pizza at its best. Service the evening we were there was exceptional. Ambiance is not great but the food makes up for it. Definitely would go back

tatiana m.

Yelp
Service and food was great!! We got the buffalo wings & pepperoni pizza! The wings came with cheese bread in the bottom

Bill G.

Yelp
Killer!!! We got a Johnny's New Yorker and a Hot Pie and both lives up to the stellar reputation. The sauce on the Johnny's New Yorker was 10 out of 10. Service was excellent chill vibe and all around great experience-highly recommend!!

Yelp
I've been here twice. Once takeout and once to sit down. I had been wanting to try this place since the one bite review and finally got around to it. My first time doing take out the pizza was great. Had some nice tang and good crispy. You could taste the char from the coals. However this specific review has to do with my second visit. The girlfriend and I went on a Saturday and the place was pretty dead. It's small inside but there were maybe only 4 other tables seated. 3 people running the place, 1 making pizzas, and 2 others who split manning the bar and tables. We ordered some cocktails, when we got them mine had some black flakes floating around and even though we got the same drink mine was visibly lighter in color. I sent it back for the flakes and when I got the second one 10 min later it was even lighter than the first and tasted really watered down. I sent that back and got a glass of wine instead. Which took another 15 min to get. When we got our pizza we got cherry pepper and pineapple for some sweet and spicy and the peppers were so hot that's all you could taste and it drowned out every other flavor. I have a very strong aversion to green pepper and we notice a couple pieces of green pepper made its way on to the pie. Clearly they have some cross contamination issues with their ingredients. Overall the pizza just lacked much flavor crisp and char taste that made the first one good. Instead of standing out above the rest of the trash pizza in south Florida it stood right in line making it pretty hard to justify going out of your way dealing with downtown or clematis to get this.

Andrew B.

Yelp
The pizza is delicious and the service is good--the best pizza in downtown WPB by FAR (and I've tried them all)

Kendall N.

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in FL. I grew up in Chicago and my father moved to downtown Manhattan. The Pizza in FL is terrible in comparison until I went here. Reverse osmosis system removes swamp water crap and they have amazing dough and tomato sauce. It's the real deal

Ben C.

Yelp
Best NYC style pizza in the area. Crust is old school with a Neapolitan rise (less than half way between cracker thin and pan). Good chew and crunch. Sauce is not too sweet, which I prefer. Have only eaten takeout. Delicious.

Haylee T.

Yelp
When I tell you this is some of the best pizza I have ever had, I mean it. Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and I am blessed enough that my office is walking distance from Hot Pie. The cheese, the sauce, the CHEESE! I always judge a pizza place by their plain cheese pizza, and Hot Pie is at the top of my list for one of the best. The cheese is ooey gooey and full of so much delicious flavor, and the crust still manages to be crisp at the bottom (which I can't say for a lot of places.) I've also tried their signature hot pie, a favorite amongst my coworkers. If you love spicy food, this is the pie for you. I've had almost all their pizzas and there is truly something for everyone. I've recently tried their roni roll and my goodness that thing is on another level. It's basically like a stromboli stuffed with pepperoni and the stretchiest cheese I've ever encountered. If you ever order this, get your phones out for an insta-worthy cheese pull. Anyways, please try this place. And if you do, there is a good chance I'll be there because I try to go at least once a week. The pizza is fabulous, the staff is so friendly, and they have the BEST music playing while you enjoy your pie.

Yr B.

Yelp
Their pizza is very good. Their service not so much. Not a place for a "quick" bite. Usually only 1 server taking care of bar and tables so you're always waiting for a drink. Servers are at least pleasant.

Maryena B.

Yelp
Hands down, best pizza in West Palm. Johnny's New Yorker with the Meatball Special toppings on half is our go to but everything they have is awesome. Crust is always consistent, toppings are fresh, and their pizza sauce is perfect!

Jenn W.

Yelp
My husband and I came across this place while heading to check out the Clematis Street restaurants. We decided this place looked more the vibe we were in the mood for, and we're glad we chose it! We had the chicken parmesan, along with a small pizza. Both were excellent. The server/bartender was attentive and kept our beers coming as needed. Would definitely come here again when in the area!

Stuart G.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood pizza place. Good pizza. Good service Best pizza in downtown

Chris F.

Yelp
One of my favorite pies in town! Hard to find coal fired pizza around here besides anthonys but this great!!!!

Michael H.

Yelp
I have been around the block, around the country and around the world when it comes to pizza, and this place holds up with the best of them! Not to pull the cliché "I'm from NY" card, but I am and that's mainly relevant to me growing up wirh a lot of pizza background. I am a plain cheese pizza fuy, so that's what I am writing about here. The ingredients are high quality, it is always cooked perfectly, and it has that perfect balance of NY slice and thin artisan pizza. My wife has had the wings and loves them, and I also have had the salad which is good, but the main event clearly is the pizza.

Michaele A.

Yelp
I visited this place for the 1st time this evening, March 15th 2023.The service was lack luster even for the pickup order. My pizza was burnt, tasteless, and not to my specifications. Truly a disappointed foodie When I called back to speak to the manager I was told she, Ms. Linda was busy and could not take my call. I am a very disappointed foodie in this establishment. I will not recommend it at all.

Max R.

Yelp
Been looking for a good pizza spot since moving from NY and this is it - best pizza I have had in PB. The Johnny New Yorker (no parm) was delicious! Called in to pick up - service was friendly both over the phone and in person, and the pizza was ready within 20mins of ordering!

Joe D.

Yelp
Really good pie for Florida. Helpful server, patient with our indecisive group. Reasonably priced I can't complain.

Jeanne D.

Yelp
Very tasty and authentic Italian pizza brings me back to my days in New York! Love it!!!

Trina S.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizzerias Downtown. When we get lunch for our volunteers during CONTINUUM WPB FL this is is the pizza that is highly requested. Definitely recommended. My only suggestion would be that when smoozing someone with money by offering them FREE stuff, try not to alienate the rest of your guests who are actually spending money. This was going on while I ordered my drink waiting for my to go order. The owner or manager barely acknowledged me nor the other guests in the restaurant. What saved them from me canceling my order. The bartender was nice & the food is good. Just something to consider for the future.

Brian R.

Yelp
The pizza is very good Manhattan style. Best Manhattan in this area, their claim? Not by a long shot. That goes to Manhattan Joe's down in South County. I would have to put the fresh pies at Brick Oven in Lake Worth, Lynora's Market on Dixie, and Broadway in West Palm well above them, too. When you're in range of Nico's and Clematis both tops in my book for scary bad pies, I guess it can give you delusions of grandeur. Both pie is that we ordered were pretty good, the crust was crisp but a bit chewier than a good NYC pie. Sloppy execution too. The salad that we received with it was mostly stubby ends of lettuce, with very little green in there, and enough onion to keep us six feet away from pretty much anyone! It's really more of a 3 1/2 star joint, but since we can't give half's, and I'm appreciative of the fact that they're still delivering, I'll give them the other half on that one. Hopefully they can find a way to improve the salads, and make the pizzas with a little more love and a little less express! They deliver which is much appreciated during the current viral crisis. Still the driver ended up running back and forth up and down the street five times before they called so the pizza was probably less than hot by the time it showed up.

Donna L.

Yelp
Ate at the bar...food was really good. Being from NYC, pizza is authentic. Drinks on the other hand were bizarre.. the server didn't understand what a vodka on the rocks with a splash meant...she tried to explain that the glasses were large ...?? Ummm...not they're not...anyway, if it was my business, important to have all servers to know how to serve a drink.

James A.

Yelp
Came here often Due to travel first time back in a couple months Service was terrible Rushed and ssslloooowwww!!! Won't be back for quite a while after tonight's visit.

Anthony G.

Yelp
Pizza is ok. Customer service is not. The bartender who took more order was extremely rude and short. It was pulling teeth just to get a receipt two different times. Very suspicious

Scott W.

Yelp
Pizza is good. However have had delivery twice and has been wrong both times. The first time the wrong order was delivered. The second time they were out of an item and the delivery was 45 minutes late. Maybe would eat in but not get delivery again.

Camille J.

Yelp
Ordered delivery tonight and the food was room temperature when it finally came an hour and 5 minutes later. We had the large Brooklyn, cheesy bread, filet mignon steak bites, and zeppolis. I would give this place one star, but the pizza was okay, not great or amazing. The pepperoni was crisp and had that nice natural casing snap, and was the redeeming factor. Barely any sauce on our pie. However, everything else was disappointing. The cheesy bread was just leftover pizza dough with scarce cheese hardened on top. Same with the zeppolis. They weren't light or airy like traditional ones. These were heavy and had the same consistency as...you guessed it...pizza dough. Powdered sugar covered only three of the zeppolis. Finally...the $12.95 filet mignon bites ordered medium rare were burnt and over cooked and chewy. I'm being honest and just providing constructive criticism. I don't get pleasure giving businesses bad reviews.

Yelp
We have been going weekly for over a year. Every week they are on point. The Johnny's New Yorker pie is hands down the best pizza in Palm Beach County.

Andrew G.

Yelp
By far the very best authentic New York style thin crust coal fire pizza in Palm Beach county. Trust me, I know good pizza. I don't go anywhere else when I'm in the mood for pizza. Great low key and casual atmosphere with three big screen TV's to watch the game that's on. John is the owner and works the oven. Linda is behind the bar serving drinks. Tell them I sent you. Enjoy!

T N.

Yelp
Great cheeseburger with fries and the best pizza in the downtown area! Try the meatball and pepperoni large pizza with extra cheese!

Chris C.

Yelp
Best pizza in Florida, I just moved down from NYC. Anyone giving this place less than 5 stars obviously doesn't know pizza

Kraig ..

Yelp
Restaurant atmosphere 0/10 and the food (two cheese pizzas) 7/10. Might have received a higher score, but I lost lost my appetite while being indoctrinated by a an unsavory Fox News as I waited.

Summer L.

Yelp
I love coming here to this little hole in the wall pizza restaurant. The best server/ bartender is always working and is absolutely wonderful. The pizza is good and taste fresh and the wings are great too! Never one single complaint here from me or any friends I have brought by. Overall great place and everyone who comes in is nice as well.

Rachel S.

Yelp
The white pizza and chicken wings were AMAZING takeout! We will always drive the extra 10 minutes to eat here or pick up pizza.
