Best Hot Pot Restaurants in the Seattle Area | Eater Seattle

"This International District spot serves up Chongqing-style hot pot (a beef tallow-based soup, turned red from the addition of chilis and Sichuan peppers) with a choice of two different soup bases, original or spicy. Spice levels range from 1-10, but be warned — upping it may result in a broth that’s a bit too extreme for the uninitiated. Chunks of beef fat in animal shaped molds provide diners with a playful way to increase their broths’ richness and flavor content." - Ryan Lee

Overall I was pleasantly impressed. The decor and atmosphere are really nice especially compared to the rest of The Hub. They have unique selection that other hot pot places don’t - like oysters and Alaskan crab. Wintermelon tea is included in the price. Broth flavor is pretty good. Downside is the meat quality was meh. you grab everything yourself which can be a bit of pro and con. Service was good and friendly.

Had a great experience at Hot Pot King in Ellicott City! The food was fresh, and the broth options were delicious with rich flavors. They have a great variety of meats, seafood, and veggies, and everything was well-stocked. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, perfect for a casual dinner or gathering with friends and family. Definitely one of the best hot pot spots around—highly recommend!

Great options for veggies and proteins. The server that I had she was a young lady she sent me and my party at 1 PM today. We were a party of five. She was very welcoming and patient with me, especially since this was my first time doing hot pot. The other two gentlemen who helped with delivering our broth and setting the heaters on were super quick and cordial as well. The overall experience was to be dreamed of, and this would definitely invite me to invite others the next time I go or take a drive simply for the enjoyment of the ambience individually. The seafood spicy broth was delicious. Definitely worth the money.

Google
For a first time at HotPot King (Hub) it wasn't bad. I have discovered I do like the concept of hot pot, however I wish there was a slightly larger selection and things were better identified with food allergens. Otherwise I stick with what I know and pray for the best. Service was good. I will say I wish our server spoke a little louder but they were on top of everything. Atmosphere was good. definitely recommend going when it's not as busy and it was cozy. Will definitely go back.

Google
We try out different hot pot places and we really liked this one! It offered a wide variety of fresh meats, seafood, veggies and soup base! The atmosphere and customer service was great! Very clean and as soon as you are seated, the host is already bringing out the appetizers and water! Plenty of space. Great to have a group get together. Each person will have their own hot pot to cook their own. The awesome part...whenever you need service they have this push button stand at your table even though they do come around to make sure you are taken care of. Overall we had a great experience and our bellies were full!!

Google
This hotpot restaurant is located inside another building called the Hub, which is very convenient if you want boba afterwards! We sat down and we were immediately served some popcorn chicken! It was very bland (not even salted!), but very crunchy. This hotpot place is very different in that EVERYTHING is buffet style, including all meats and seafood. No order from a menu/app except for soft drinks and the soup base. Everything is included in the price of $32.99/adult (child is $16.99 for age 10 and under 5ft), but soft drinks and alcohol. Soda is in a can, so no free refills. Dining time is limited to 90mins. There are buttons at every table to call a server over for more water/soup, bill or all other services; however, the servers were very attentive in that we rarely had to press the button to get help! The times that we did press the button, we were helped immediately. One thing that I really enjoyed about this place was that everything was proportioned out into small portions (except for veggies), so after grabbing one dish of something, I grab a dish of something else, and in the end, I end up eating a larger variety of food! I left feeling like I really got my money's worth since I felt like I ate a lot of different foods. There is a standard sauce station. I normally really love the restaurant house sauce, but I didn't really like the one here. It was pretty bland. There are fresh cut fruits, yellow and ice cream as dessert! I think ice cream is limited to one per person.

Google
So I will start off by saying I had a very lovely, helpful service. But I do have mixed reviews about how I feel about this place. Things I liked: 1) They had so many gluten-free broths. The mushroom broth was flavorful and fantastic. You did not need to add any sauces 2) The staff was well educated and helpful through the whole process 3) The food that was thawed was fantastic and tasty Things I was unsure about 1) the set up was a little odd. The meat and seafood come proportioned. I liked this due to ease of grabbing, but some had too much, and I felt like I was wasting it. The trays were also too big for the portion of food that was in it, so it was awkward to carry back. 2) Some of the seafood was frozen on the shelves. This should not have happened and was off putting 3) The spoons to catch all your soup you need to grab yourself. I didn't see it at first, and it made it slightly challenging to eat. 4) I asked the waitress if the oysters were safe to eat raw, and she said she did not know. I really do appreciate the honesty, but I thought it was odd to have oysters that can't be consumed raw when in the shell. Things I did not like: 1) I went for lunch on Saturday. Yes, the food was good overall. The service was good, but most places do a lunch special, and they do not. For $31.99 a meal, I felt like this was kind of high for the selection that they had. 2) I went for lunch, it was not crowded in the resturant (yes I know this sounds good) but I can't image how overcrowded their small food grabbing area must get when a lot of people are in the resturant. 3) The parking lot was a little odd, and then getting into the restaurant, you went through what looked like a mall food court. It was different. Overall, I did have a good experience. Would I go back again, probably not due to cost and how the layout was. Do I think I got my moneys worth? Debatable.

Wow, so good. Good choices of broths & ingredients - meats, seafood, veggies. Some fruits & desserts, they also had ice cream. Clean place & excellent service. Nice decors. We had a great time. 2 thumbs up.

Yelp
The restaurant is in the back of the Hub food hall. It has nice themed decor with the larger tables in alcoves that look like pavilions. It's ayce and the price is in line with the other hot pot places in the area. It is self serve buffet style. The have a slightly larger selection of seafood options than the other hot pot places but the overall quality of ingredients is worse than the other places. Pros: seafood selection includes oysters, crab legs, and crawfish which you don't normally see included elsewhere. Self serve means you're never waiting for things to come out after ordering on a tablet. They have some wintermelon teas and Chinese desserts included, as well as ice cream. Cons: overall quality isn't great. The soup bases are on the bland side. The mussels were sandy, crab legs were thin and watery, fish balls tasted cheap. Smaller selection of items overall. Restrooms are out in the Hub. They do offer a 5% cash discount.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place and visit the Hub for the first time after passing by it so frequently. There is a huge parking lot for the plaza so parking shouldn't be too much of an issue. Hot Pot King is located at the back of the Hub. I love the decoration of the interior. I wish the lighting was a little brighter, but some may appreciate the dimmer light. There was also no music playing when we went so it was a little too quiet for our tastes. I can see that being a pro if you have a group though. Service was okay. I love that they pre-portion things out for you so you can simply pick up a plate of whatever you want. The portions are also smaller so you can manage your portions easily and waste less food. One thing we noticed was that the meat slices were completely frozen and thus were harder separate and place in our broth. We had to wait for it to dethaw enough before being able to pick anything up. We also felt like the quality generally was not as good, but for the price point it is okay. I wished there was a little more variety, but I think they have most of the essentials. I noticed they have a decent variety of seafood compared to other places if you like that! I felt like our broth was a little bland, but I took some salt from the sauce station and that fixed it a little bit. It didn't feel that hearty to me. Their sauce bar is good though! They have free wintermelon tea/green tea which was super sweet but delicious. They also have a variety of desserts, some of which I really enjoyed. This would be an okay place to eat all you can eat, but I personally believe there are better places nearby for a similar price. We paid $32 for dinner on weekday though, which I think is a good deal.

Yelp
This place is inside the Asian Hub. Positives: Broth seasoning was great. We ordered Thai Tom Yum, classic Thai flavor with lemongrass. If you like spicy, you will like this one. Pork bone broth is savory and comforting, I think I liked this one better, but both broths were very good. Ambiance was great. The decor felt like you were in China. Not sure if I liked the big tv screen playing a Chinese movie. Did it add to the ambience, maybe? Service was great. Our server was very attentive, checking in with us to see if we needed anything and someone came by every 5-10 mins to take our empty plates and bowls. The sauce station is right next to the lemonade and melon tea drink dispenser. Negatives: The location of where the food is. The space is tight. It's in the back of the restaurant, you enter on the left, grab a tray and some tongs to get the food for your hotpot. You take the entire plate or bowl that has the food in it. I found this to be wasteful, 2 pieces in a big bowl. The tables in the center can be very loud, so if you want more privacy ask for one of the tables in the alcove, but I think these are reserved for larger parties. Where we were sitting, there's not much separating us from the other side, so we could hear the other party's conversation and it was loud and disruptive. Desserts were ok. Overall, we did enjoy the food and service. Space issue, not sure if they can do anything about it.

Yelp
My favorite Maryland hot pot place so far! Everything is fully buffet style, where you pick your base and can get unlimited meat/seafood/veggies for the price of $32 per adult. Overall a very good deal for AYCE with free soup refills as well! I personally really enjoyed the mushroom soup base, but also heard great things about the tom yum, szechuan spicy, and healthy herbal bases from my friends that I went with. The service is also great, with chicken karaage served immediately after being seated, and refills of soup base occasionally and also when requested. The winter melon tea is also excellent, and the dessert selection includes ice cream, fruits, and sesame balls (a personal favorite of mine). I sometimes struggle at hot pot places to find food I can eat as someone that doesn't eat beef/pork, but was pleasantly surprised to see such a large seafood, vegetable, and non red meat selections. A very classic sauce bar, which is ofc one of the most make or break aspects of any hot pot restaurant. The ambiance is very cozy, especially when seated in the side booths with bigger groups. Looking forward to my next trip here!

Yelp
Individual hot pots with a large selection of veggies, noodles, seafood and meat! The first thing I liked about Hot Pot King was their vast selection of vegetarian friendly soup options. One thing about going to hot pot is I find there's only 2-3 options but here's there's 5 (spicy kimchi, fresh tomato, golden pumpkin, mushroom, and healthy herbal). Another thing I liked was that every item they had was pre portioned in a container which you could easily grab. It made it quicker to grab everything I wanted and plus if you're new to hot pot, an idea of what the item looks like. If you're in the area, def try them out!!

Yelp
There are several places in the area that serve hot pot; this is one of the better ones. Service is excellent: dirty dishes are cleared promptly, staff makes timely offers to refill broth, and in general are very friendly. Very good selection of meats, vegetables, noodles, and sauce ingredients. Although the menu offers some rudimentary instructions about cooking times, you'll want to go with someone who's had hot pot before and knows how it works. The set-up isn't obvious to a newbie. If you're a hothead, the broths marked spicy are legit. Note that this is in the back of the Hub food hall and isn't visible from the street.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and experience. I went with a group of 8 on a weeknight. Generally I do not recommend taking that many people to hot pot and there was only 1 table large enough for us all but they were able to accommodate. I've done hot pot before but not with an individual hot pot, for some people it was their first time. The server explained a few things to us - we all picked broths and then it was time to get the goods! There are a TON of protein options. Loads of seafood, beef, pork, tons of mushrooms, tofu, veggies, all kinds of noodles, things I couldn't even imagine would be at hot pot! That alone was worth the price but there's also a ton of sauce options and a few desserts. No real complaints. I'd recommend coming on a weeknight to have the best experience. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Really enjoy this hot pot place! Nestled in the hub Asian food hall. I was kinda surprised how big the place was being it was in a food hall. Once you walk in, you were transformed into a little Chinatown with all their decor. They start you off with karaage that was yummy. I like how they have this beautiful covering around the pot so you don't burn yourself! Since the pots are on top of the table. I ordered the pork bone broth was I enjoyed. I heard my friends liking the Tom yum soup broth. I liked how it was self service so you could pick up what you want! Love the options! But for such a big space, one line of food, tucked away in a corner, isn't the best spot. There was always this long line of people getting their foods and make their sauces. Also the trays should've been made like a puzzle pieces so you could easily stack your food somehow. Like bento boxes that could be stacked. Or instead of picking up plates of food, maybe have the trays be where you put the food on top of. I enjoyed this but when I got back to my large group table with all of us having trays of food, it was tough! We didn't have enough space and they had small tables to put foods on that was behind our seating, but it just wasn't convenient. So if you go in a large group, maybe coordination with your friends would help! Share the foods you pick up so it'll save on table space.

Yelp
Ok so this place is located inside an Asian food hall. It's mostly food court type places but this is obviously a sit down restaurant. It's all you can eat, usually $39.99 I think but it was on sale when we went, $31.99. Great decor and ambience. First of all, the service was excellent. We were immediately taken to our seats, and before we had even fully taken off our coats and gotten comfortable our server came over and brought an appetizer. Yes appetizer included in the all you can eat. And the appetizer in question was fried chicken. It was delicious. The perfect amount of crunch and the chicken was super juicy. Could've maybe used a finishing salt. 4.5/5. There were like 9 different soup options. I personally got the porkbone broth which was really good. Nice and flavorful. My friend got the mushroom one and he really liked it. For all you can eat, there were so many different options for veggies and meats. There were some meats I'd never seen at other hot pot or shabu shabu places. I'm talking frog legs, blue crab, beef aorta, lamb. If you're looking for variety, this is the place. You can view the full menu of options on their website but we definitely were not disappointed. There are also many different sizes of tables, I think max they could sit 8 or 10 people together. Will definitely be returning again.

Yelp
I really wanted to fall in love with this place. I was really intrigued by the concept and couldn't wait to eat here. Had a family dinner here for 10 people. 7 of us were present and we called ahead but couldn't be seated until every single person was there. Instructions weren't clear on how to do the cooking properly. Only half the table heard instructions and they were still confused. The menus were taken after we were given instructions and someone asked for a menu again and we realized we were not even doing it right. You are charged for left over food $11.99 per pound so don't be wasteful. Only get items that you really think you'll eat. Also the seafood isn't fresh. Raw oysters tasted freezer burnt and clams too. Raw shrimp were not deveined so that was an unwelcome surprise as I began to eat my food. The restaurant is BYOB. It's not on anything but you learn when you show up. They do have water on the table but it's not refilled once empty. There are dispensers for tea and lemonade with child sized cups so you can drink this but you will need several cups to quench your thirst. The menu states you have a strict 90 minute time for eating. We definitely felt very rushed the entire time. Our waiter hovered at the table most of the time. Maybe it's for someone but it just wasn't for me. Parking is easy. Free Wi-Fi is available and it's easy to find in a shopping center located in the rear of an interior food court.

Yelp
This use to be our go to Hot Pot place. During our recent visit on a Sunday night, it is obivious that they no longer offer the same food varieties. The shelves half empty. It was not a busy night- what happened? Love their winter melon tea and the sevice is still impaccable though. Hope they regain the popularity since it is a beautiful restaurant to dine in..

Yelp
We came with a group and young kids. The restaurant has a lot of seating. Dark lighting. The restaurant is set inside a food court. The soup broth is very rich. The meat and veggie selections are self serve and very fresh. The sauce station is clean and offered a good variety. There weren't many wait staff people but it didn't affect our experience. Everything is set up for you at the table and everything is self serve. I can't wait to bring my husband here.

Yelp
Beautiful and great all you can eat hot pot place. My go to in Baltimore. I always either get the spicy Szechuan broth or the pork bone broth. Great selection of meats, seafood, and veggies. Service was really good and the waiters/host were kind every time I've been. Only complaint is we went at opening and the meat was literally frozen on the container and hard to get out. However, all my other experiences have been great A fantastic hot pot experience in Baltimore! price is not bad and def worth!

Yelp
The service was excellent. We came last minute with a party of 7 around 9pm on a Saturday and they accommodated us quickly. We had some changes with the soup bases we wanted and they were very accommodating. They regularly and appropriately checked to see if we needed anything. They gave us a pickled cucumber salad and fried chicken as a n appetizer. The chicken was really good and folks at my table commented that was their favorite item in the menu. The soup bases were mostly pork based ones, but they had few options that were not. I got the tom yum one that was really good and I mixed some of my friends se chain into it. I also made a side sauce if vinegar and chilli crunch from the sauce mix station and that was so delicious to add to my food after it was cooked. After we got our soup, we went and got our meats and sides to cook. There were a lot of vegetable, seafood, and meat options to pick from. I personally loved the crab legs and glass noodles. For dessert they had some fruit and some ice cream option. My suggestion would be to get a small amount of food and get more throughout the experience so you aren't wasting food. Also, we were seated at a booth that felt a little private and that was really nice. Overall, it was a really fun experience.

Yelp
Located in the back of a food hall, this is a tasty stop for a hot pot adventure. They provide a cheat sheet if you are a newbie to the hot pot craze and will coach you as needed. It is one price per person ($32 when we went) then all you can eat - no waste please and no carry outs when you are done. After ordering your base with options from mild to extra spicy including 4 vegetarian options, you make your way to the add-in buffet. Gloves are available at the entrance, grab a tray and load up on ingredients to cook in your pot. Many items are already portioned but grab a plate as you enter for those that are not. Collaboration with your dining group may be helpful as some trays are enough for the table to shared . Holding cases are adequately cool for all options which include vegetables, meat, and seafood. Don't forget the dipping (or seasoning) sauces outside of the add-in buffet. I took a second trip for those after choosing my add-ins. Their house dipping sauce was great! After enjoying your hotpot don't miss the desserts (they are behind you as you get your add-ins). They also have Hersheys ice cream as part of the meal. Servers were masked and customers wore masks when up from their tables. Decor was nice and we felt there was adequate space and ventilation. We loved it and are adding it to our Chinese hot pot rotation!

Yelp
The food was so good here! I will definitely be back! The server Tomi was so pleasant and helpful! It's an all-you-can-eat set up for $30-35 and they provide you free iced tea or lemonade. I loved the free appetizers they provide you as well. If this location was closer to me I'd probably make this a biweekly ritual tbh lol. I brought soju in to accompany our meal and the vibe was just right. The noise level is about average so it's a great place to come with a friend to catch up or have a general gathering being that they have each table sectioned off with a great amount of privacy. I will definitely be back! The frog legs were very good and I highly recommend the mushroom soup base.

Yelp
I'm so sad it took me so long to go here! Tucked in the back of the food court, this restaurant was bustling with people. The individual hot pot set up made it easy to select my broth of choice and to add whatever veggies, protein, and carbs that I wanted. I all you can eat setup worked well. The servings were manageable and I loved that I could layer on my veggies and the meat choices. There were many carb options from udon noodles, potato glass noodles, rice cakes and others. There were also lots of seafood options including crabs and fish cakes. The staff was attentive and regularly stopped by with broth refills and water.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this hot pot spot for a while now as I love going to the Asian Food Hall where it's located. As an appetizer they give popcorn chicken, pickled ginger and a cucumber salad to share. There is a choice of about 6 broth flavors. I chose Sichuan and yes, it is as spicy as they warn. So, after you give the waiter your soup order, you go to grab everything you want buffet style. This was different for me because all of the other hot pot places I've ever been to bring your ingredients to you. I'm not really a fan of buffets so that put me off a bit. I also feel that their options are a bit limited compared to other places, but they did have crab legs which always gains points. The options like shrimp dumplings and veggie dumplings seemed very low quality in my opinion. Also, I'm pretty sure they were set up above the wrong label, so I just stuck with veggies, mussels and shrimp. Additionally, they offer a winter melon iced tea and lemonade which comes with the $31.99 that you pay. So the problem is I looooved their soup, but was not a huge fan of the options for add ins. Would I return? It's unlikely, but I'm not 100% against it. For the price, it was fine.

Yelp
always go here with my family and they never disappoint. Staffs are nice and have manners especially the guy that works at the front desk. There Tom yum soup is sooo good and have minimal but great food choices. THEY ALSO HAVE ICE CREAM!!! and present to u a show/view in this big screen that entertains you while you eat. Overall 10/10!! Best hotpot place in the DMV literally.

Yelp
Overall i would give a solid 4.5 stars for the experience. The experience is a unique hot pot experience because of the buffet line of vegetables, meats, and seafood. For most of the hot pot experiences, even if its all you can eat, the food is brought to you. But in this restaurant the food is laid out for you to choose. Really cool and fun! The food itself quality wise is decent. The meats are okay and have a variety to choose from. There are tons of seafood options which is very nice. The veggies also are abundant but sometimes run out. There are a few desserts/snacks, however do not look very appealing compared to the meats/veggies. The soup is good. The chicken appetizer is tasty. There is ice cream where you can choose one at the end. Service is great! Very attentive and easy to get refills of soup or more utensils. Ambiance is nice! Has a trendy feel with a more traditional decorations. The tables are comfortable and overall quiet to have a good conversation. Would recommend to try this place for a nice and cool experience!

Yelp
If you like all you can eat Hot Pot, check out Hot Pot King. There is a huge selection of meats and noodles to choose from. We chose pork belly, beef, shrimp, crab, ramen noodles, udon noodles, and rices cakes. You choose your broth which comes in a personal size bowl. They give you a complimentary crab which was a surprise and plus which we enjoyed. You have a variety of options to create your personalized special dipping sauce. There's complimentary juice and tea drink you can pour your own drink from. You also have the option to order soda pop if juicy or tea is not your jam. Don't forget to grab ice cream from the ice cream freezer. Hot Pot King is a nice spot for an all you can eat from your main course to dessert. If you need service for more broth or something else, you can press the service button and your waiter/waitress will come promptly. Your empty dishes are cleared from your table by placing it on the tray posted next to your table. One thing I didn't care for was the fact you're timed during your meal. I understand the reason behind this, however, I felt rushed thinking about I'd run out of time in the back of my mind. I do like how their menu has cooking instructions for beginners which is a nice little touch. Overall, I enjoyed Hot Pot King and I'll be back.

Yelp
Third time is a charm. We came in at 6 dinner time. Guess what we got. The beef lean 10%, fat 90%. No other choices. If you have high cholesterol or heart disease. Please do not eat or choose some other place. My biggest concern is the quality. Second pic - adulterated food being offered. PRO: self- service hot pot CON: quality

Yelp
Love love love it! We were there right at 2pm on a Saturday and there was a line. Everyone was seated after their temperature was taken. Once you are seated, they bring out popcorn chicken, smashed cucumbers (the most tasty sauce), edamame, kimchi and other side dishes. They'll ask for your soup base and once they bring that to your table, you can head to the back where all the meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces and drinks are. The staff was very attentive and asked us often if we needed more water or if our soup bar needed topping up. They also cleared out empty dishes quickly. The food selection was amazing! The slices lamb and beef were so tasty. There was a large selection of seafood and vegetables. I would definitely recommend Hot Pot King and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This was my second time going here. It is a bit wait. But the wait is worth it you have endless ingredients to chose from. I love how many choices you have to eat. And the soups are always great. Waiters take care of you. My favorite was the beef brisket. That yummy meat plus they also have lemonade and wintermelon juice to drink. Such a plus as always.

Yelp
Love the variety. All the meats and seafood. They even have frog legs. The winter melon tea is delicious.

Yelp
I've been to The Hub a few times but finally got to try Hot Pot King! Their service is incredible- they follow covid safety precautions with temperature checks and socially distanced seating between tables, and there are always staff around top up your broth or to take away an empty tray so your table is never overflowing. We were pleasantly surprised by the apps. Just a few minutes after being seated, we were given taiwanese fried chicken, cucumber salad, kimchi, and a few other cold dishes to start us off while our broth order was put in. Everything was delicious, and the chicken was piping hot! Definitely fresh out of the fryer. You have the option to order a beverage, but they also have free winter melon tea just next to the sauce bar- very refreshing and self serve so you can have as much as you'd like. This AYCE hot pot spot has a whole back room full of veggies, seafood, and meat in a refrigerator wall. There were some preassembled seafood platters for convenience, too. Anything I wanted was available, and even more. I was really impressed by the variety of meats and seafood. They even had crawfish and crab legs so you can truly eat to your hearts content! I especially loved the fish in my pork bone broth. The broth itself was rich and came with some pork bones in it (I regret eating so much that I didn't have the space to munch on these at the end of my meal. It was so tender and delicious!) For me, hot pot isn't complete without a scoop of ice cream at the end to round out the meal. There was a small freezer off to the side with tubs of vanilla, chocolate, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. We had to ask a server to scoop it for us, and they brought it over to our table. Overall, I had an incredible experience here! It came out to be just around $35 per person including tax and tip. I'll be back soon, probably with a few more friends in tow!

Yelp
One of the best All-You-Can-Eat hot pot experiences. Hot Pot King is an All-You-Can-Eat hot pot restaurant that has one tweak to the formula that makes them stand out from their competitors. Instead of busy servers constantly taking your orders and rushing in and out of the kitchen, juggling between multiple tables, Hot Pot King has customers do the busy work by having you grab your ingredients from a buffet. This saves up servers to get you drinks and specialty items and removes almost no wait to get your food. You can pile your plates as high as you want, though the trays are designed to cleverly limit how much you can bring back in each visit to the buffet. As most buffets go, Hot Pot King does utilize several strategies to encourage customers from gathering cheaper items. Cheaper items or items that take up a lot of tray space line the opening of the buffet such as veggies, noodles, and mushrooms. Premium items such as red meat and seafood lie at the end of the buffet, so be sure to visit the end of the line first, then double back to get your veggies. Food quality is pretty good. Seafood tastes fresh, and the beef is tender, though they could use a bit of pre-seasoning. Veggies and noodles are basic but welcoming. The broths are probably the biggest nitpicks, lacking the flavor punch I want to accompany my meal. The desserts Hot Pot King offers are disappointing, with bland ice cream, a strange mango mouse, and grass jelly. If at the end of your giant meal you're still looking for something sweet, you can always go to Mango Mango next door. When it's cold out and I'm hankering for some delicious hot pot, Hot Pot King lives up to its name.

Yelp
Lots of options for hot pot! Enjoyed the buffet experience. It makes hotpot much more engaging and we didn't have to wait between rounds for people to bring by food. The buffet had it all between ice cream and dessert to all the meats we could want. Many broth options for us to pick from as well!

Yelp
Talking about yet another hot pot spot because I'm obsessed, lol. ANYWHO, this was my first time at Hot Pot King, and I will 200% be back! I had a truly wonderful experience, and everything from service to food was on point. Notesssss They give you fried chicken + cucumber salad as an app to start (included in the AYCE price) There were 8 broths to choose from, and both the Tom Yum & Szechuan Hot + Spicy broth were delish They had "private" booths available! LOVED sitting there - it felt very bougie, lol. They had a really good system going! You put your dirty/empty dishes on the side, and their waitstaff will remove it for you. They're super attentive, but there's also a button on the side that you can push if you need any help! Free iced tea + lemonade's available at the sauce bar They had fruit + ice cream for dessert (limit one per person)

Yelp
This probably has to be one of my favorite places to get hot pot in the DMV area. I would like to just start and point out that the interior space of the restaurant is amazing when you first walk in! I was pretty shocked to see the oriental architecture and design, especially the booths for groups. I had decided on getting the Healthy Herbal broth and was really impressed with the taste! Also, you can get unlimited Wintermelon tea which is SO good and I highly recommend getting because I made way too many trips to get more of it. Another thing I loved about this place is that you have a station to pick out what items to add to your hot pot instead of ordering from a server, so you can gauge how much you really want of an item and not waste food. They have a wide of variety of items to choose from, especially their seafood section! You can also get your own dessert, and ice cream as well from the freezer! Overall, I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this hot pot restaurant and look forward to coming back to this place for many more visits!

Yelp
Simply amazing. We had the mushroom broth and the Tom yum broth both were great the Tom yum was a bit spicy when it kept reducing. We both got an assortment of veggies and proteins. ( noodle, spinach, watercress, mushrooms, fish cakes, lobster balls, shrimp, blue crab, sno crab, scallop, clams, brisket, pork and beef. Everything made the broth better and our dipping sauce was the topper to a great meal

Yelp
This place is so good I've been twice in the last 2 weeks. Service, decor and food quality are high. You have the traditional broths, but I prefer the Tom Yum and rich pork bone broths. If you love spicy my friends really enjoyed the Golden Hot Sour and Szechuan Hot & Spicy. Very rich in flavor and even after you refill it expect the strong flavors to still be there. Everything is self serve from the veggies, meats and seafood. Each table has a little stand at the edge to put all of your empty or dirty silver/tableware. I love how fresh the food is. The produce is nice and crisp. Yes, some of the meats may come lightly frozen, but nothing a hot broth can't fix. The lobster balls, lamb, and snow crab legs are a must order. The sauce stations to our tables were constantly being cleaned. They currently are only open during dinner. If you have a party of over 8 you may have to wait a bit. I'd recommend calling ahead just incase the restaurant gets packed. Don't forget to let them know if its your bday and they offer a nice discount as well. If you're looking for high quality hotpot with wide variety of fresh ingredients this is the spot.

Yelp
Love this place! I took my grandma to hot pot for the first time and the staff was so kind in answering her questions I love the variety of food and the fact that everyone gets their own hot pot.

Yelp
3.5 stars if I could but I'm erring on the positive side! Came with a party of 8 last weekend. They have really cute private booths but those are only for 6 people so we were at a large round table. Initial thoughts was service was on the slower side. I had to flag someone down to order our broths. I really liked the little apps they put down on the table-- we ordered extra fried chicken! I have mixed feelings on the buffet. There were points where the line got kind of long. Also, I understand the need to restock but that also made the line go slower when there was a staff member in the middle of the buffet restocking. It's too late now, but it would have been more functional for them to design the buffet to have space in the back where they could access the buffet from the back to restock. Overall, parts of the experience just felt kind of stressful haha. I would definitely return to try again though.

Yelp
This place is the bomb Diggity!! They've only been open for several months but the quality is superb! Came here for all you can eat hot pot and had an absolutely amazing experience! I really needed to be on a car to be rolled out of the place because I was so full. I nearly turned into Pac-Man that was how round my stomach was when we left the restaurant. The restaurant is huge and has a lot of seating and definitely very spacious. You sit in your table and order your soup base broth. They actually had a huge selection of different broth which is very nice. Some of the broth is very unique and not found anywhere else. I got the Thai Tyme Yum soup base mixed with the herbal soup is to remove some of the sour flavor. That turned out to be a great choice. Some of our friends got the Szechuan spicy and that was a bit too much. Once you get your suit base then you go over to the pick up area and you pick out the vegetables the meats and other ingredients to put in your soup. There was a huge section of seafood with very large prawns crabs crawfish mussels and clams. I definitely went to town on the seafood. Everything was so fresh and high-quality ingredients. There's also a sub section for the sauces that you can make on your own. They had everything you would ever need for hot pot. Absolutely loved it. Our server came by often to ask us if we needed anything. Waters and drinks were refilled. The price is super reasonable for the quality of food we got. Definitely a hidden gem.

Yelp
Located inside of a food hall (at the back), this hot pot spot is an amazing deal for the price ($31.99 AYCE) and high quality! Inside it's beautiful and looks like a fancy hot pot spot. We were sat within 15mins coming in on a Saturday evening. We did call ahead on the way to get on the waitlist. Once sat there was already popcorn chicken and some banchan for us to snack on! I ordered the Szechuan broth without butter then headed to the food like to grab all the necessities. Yes, you have to go up and get all yours meats and veggies but luckily everything is already placed in individual plates and super easy to grab. Also so many options to choose from! They even had blue crab! I made my way to the sauce bar and also had some winter melon tea. The broth was soo delicious, you can tell it was better than other spots! The service was quick and friendly. There were carts going around clearing dishes and also refilling water and broths. I highly recommend ppl giving this spot a try! I would drive all the way out here again just to eat here!

Yelp
We went there on to celebrate Mother's Day and had a wonderful time! They have a great selection of meats, veggies, and noodle on their buffet. Feeling adventurous? ; you can get frog legs, tofu, beef tripe, and or go for the classics like their freshly sliced beef, lamb and chicken. For Mother's Day we got a free lobster. We all got the pork bone broth that was flavorful and delicious! It was great that the drinks winter melon green tea and lemonade came complimentary with our dinner. There was also a sauce bar, and dessert bar too. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is spacious, and we also love the traditional Chinese decor! We will definitely go back for another hot pot experience.

Yelp
The best place to satisfy your Hot Pot cravings! They provide individual soup bowls and burners so that each person can choose their own broth base and cook what they please (rather than sharing in one big bowl). Customer service is great and responsive, and they explain all the instructions clearly. The quality and variety of food in their buffet is amazing and well worth the $27.99 special. I totally didn't take enough pictures but the ambiance and design of the place puts Hot Pot King on another level. This place is good for dates, for birthdays and celebrations, and for just an awesome indulgent three hours of eating.

Yelp
Firstly, the service here is on point. The staff is friendly and informative if it's your first visit. There are so many options on soups if you have a diet restriction. Also there are a wide selection of foods as well. Trust me this place is definitely a perfect spot to check out.

Yelp
Great place in The Hub to stop by for some all you can eat individualized hot pot! To start off you pick a soup base. I chose the mild Szechuan, which was pretty spicy! They have a huge assortment of foods to pick from for the hotpot. All sorts of noodles including udon and vermicelli, a variety of mushrooms and tofus, seaweed, canned quail eggs and fish balls. For the seafoods options there were snow crab legs, shrimp, frozen clams and mussels, crawfish and squid/octopus. They also had a variety of thinly sliced meats. After picking some items we stopped by the sauce bar. I ended up not really using the sauces I mixed bc the soup itself was pretty flavorful (and a bit too salty) that I didn't need to dip the items in anything. They also have a bunch of items for dessert, and if you ask the staff they can get ice cream from the back for you!

Yelp
Glad to see that this place is now open -- we had been to the Hub over the summer but it was closed. It's a fun hot pot experience. Everyone has their own pot and burner, and it definitely makes for a great social outing as everyone is cooking their own food (we spent maybe 2.5 hours). When you arrive, you first choose your broth, as you eat some yummy appetizers already on the table which you can ask for more of. Lots of options for broth. I think the pork bone broth is pretty popular. I tried the tom yum as it was new and I am always a fan of tom yum, but it ended up being sweeter than I was used to (another friend said the same). It definitely provided a good spice though. Only when you get your broth, can you start going up to get your ingredients. I was pleased with the large selection of meats, seafood, veggies. There is also fruit punch and winter melon tea on tap (would recommend diluting - very sweet), and a full sauce station. Dessert section was pretty disappointing though, as there were just some cream puffs and little mousse things that left more to be desired. They also only had vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream when we were there. You can BYOB. Service was pretty good. Nice decor. Tip included with parties of 5 or more I think. The difficult part is that the table fills up with empty trays and containers pretty quickly so it's hard to eat comfortably. There is a little cart at the end of the table so you can start stacking your empty plates, etc, but even that gets filled up pretty quickly and the table feels cramped. The other qualm I have, and this is with the Hub (the food court that this is located in) in general, is that it's pretty packed in there. It seems other reviews have noted this too. Over the summer, there was plenty of distance between parties, but that isn't the case anymore. There's people standing around everywhere, and parties are seated closely near other tables. With Hot Pot King, everyone lines up in close proximity to get the ingredients, and are all touching the same serving utensils buffet style. Hand sanitizer is available but not at the most convenient places. I had to look around to find it. Overall, great hot pot experience but maybe not during pandemic times.

Yelp
They had complementary lemonade and winter melon green tea and the staff was much quicker bringing out the soup broth this time. They also have ice cream you have to ask the server for. Lastly, I believe it is BYOB and you can bring in drinks and dessert from the hub outside like Gong Cha and Mango Mango

Yelp
I love this place. It's in a food hall that has korean fried chicken and bubble tea. The atmosphere is very nice. It's all you can eat and has a great selection of meats and vegetables. It also has a decent dessert section and a few beverages like Wintermelon tea which is very refreshing. I came with my friend and her teenage son who really enjoyed himself trying it for the first time. All of the broths are good. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Hot Pot King just opened inside the Hub and it's amazing! It's an AYCE Hotpot place with a little twist. There's a buffet area where you get your toppings for your hotpot vs the norm of ordering dishes. The Hot Spicy Butter broth was very tasty! My brother got the pork bone soup and also enjoyed that. There's also a little dish area next to your table for empty dishes which I thought was very convenient. They also had complimentary drinks and dessert! We were able to get a choice of strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, choco-mint or green tea ice cream! The dining area was a lot more spacious than I thought and was a pleasant surprise. Decor was great and the restaurant was very nice. Our host was friendly and attentive. Definitely will be coming back here!

Yelp
I like this place because it's in a very convenient food court where I can get most of my favorite food. This place is all you can eat hotspot. There are varieties of soup base that you can choose. Tbh, all of the soup base tastes the same as I have tried 4 different soup bases here. They have lots of meats , veggies, and couple noodle to choose. You can eat as much as you can and the price is $29.99 per person which is typically the same price for most of the all you can eat hotspot in the area. The desserts were okay, not as great as I thought. You can ask for ice cream, they will bring it to your table (they do not allow you to open the fridge to take the ice cream out yourself due to COVID). One of the guys who working there never come back for my sprite when we asked. We were waiting for like 20 mins and I never seen him come back. I had to ask the girl, Mimi, and she came back with our soda so quickly. Overall, this is a good place to hang out with friends, food is okay, not the best. Some of people who work there sometimes may forget your order or ignore you, but most of them are nice and okay.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I was trying somewhere new for hot pot that wasn't just "urban hotpot" in MD. We tried here, and it was WORTH IT! I called in for a reservation and it was soo easy. They started out giving us style popcorn chicken (included!). The selection of broth wax verrry good. The food was buffet style, as we grab the meats, sides and noodles ourselves. This is actually very smart as it was something for us do as our soup boiled, and we didnt have to wait for waiters to serve it. We grabbed everything we needed in the beginning and then enjoyed ourselves full. They had an AMAZINGGG selection of seafood including raw oysters which is something I don't see a lot of other hot pot restaurant have. It was all included! This hot pot also includes lemonade and winter melon tea and desserts. and lastly, staff was always ready to help and always coming in to check in on us without no wait.

Yelp
This place was pretty good!! I got the herbal soup and I highly highly recommend!! It was so flavorful yet not overwhelmingly so. Def plan to come back in the future.
