Very small rooms but very good location. Very clean, I liked the terrace. The bathroom is very open and audible to anr one in the room. There is no sound isolation between the rooms. Very good if you want to just sleep and go.

A one night pre cruise stay and very impressed.||We were given a complimentary upgrade to a front facing room with a Romeo & Juliet balcony.|The room was very comfortable and reasonably sized. Bed was great and room spotless....note , we found plenty of plug sockets!|Bathroom perfectly functional, with excellent rainfall shower but sadly over the bath, which we dislike but wouldnt stop us staying here again.||The front desk and coffee shop staff were very friendly and helpful especially as Barcelona was manic due to the big Media / Mobile conference taking place over that period.|A very big thank you to the lady on reception who managed to get a taxi for me to the cruise port as my private car driver forgot!||As stated earlier, would happily return to Hotel 54, when next sailing from Barcelona but never again in early March when the conference is taking place!

I loved the staff and location best of all. The hotel is an easy walk to the sea. That was my reason to stay there and it did not disappoint. I walked by the beach every morning. It was almost always quiet at night. I kind of even did not expect that. One night there was some activity in the street late in the evening and another night some guests were a bit noisy shutting their doors, but overall very quite. The bed was very comfortable. It was very clean and the maid service was excellent. The shower was with excellent pressure.|It is generally very humid in Barcelona, so if you take a shower and do not open the window for a bit to air the room, there would be condensation of water on the window and window sill in the morning. But the maids cleaned that after the first night .|I made sure to include breakfast in my reservation. Breakfast was nice. Four kinds of cheese, a few kinds of ham, bread, jellies, sweet baked goods, yogurts (sometimes) croissants, special K cereal, fruit, cucumbers, and tomatoes. One can order an omelet. If you need water, you can ask for it and they will bring a bottle out to you. Same goes for hot tea or coffee. Juices and milk are there in the buffet. A couple of times they had Spanish omelet in the buffet - I liked it. The breakfast is served 7:30-11 am. The waiter was friendly and attentive.|The receptionist that checked me in by the name of Boris was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He also made sure I had a bag with breakfast prepared for me when I was departing the hotel at 4:15 am for the airport. He also helped with reserving a taxi for me.|Oh, and there was an elevator!|All in all I cannot think of anything negative and enjoyed my stay there very much!

Great rooftop deck, 24/7 access, porter helps with everything. There is a bar downstairs, always open. 24 hour access. There is a safe in the room. Can't write anything bad - everything is great!

Stayed here 1 night before our cruise. Thankfully it was only 1 night. |The good: |1. the breakfast buffet was decent with made to order eggs & a very friendly server. |2. Location - close to the beach & right along the “boardwalk”|3. Clean rooms that are simple but nicely decorated. |The not so good:|1. The newly renovated bathrooms don’t have an outlet in the wall. I had to sit on the floor to use my hair tools|2. Towels (2 per room) were like fine grit sandpaper|3. The mini-hairdryer is attached to the wall & you have to hold the button down the whole time so using it while using a brush is very challenging. |4. The light is the bathroom are LED puck lights with no vanity lights so there’s major shadows when trying to apply makeup. |5. No pull out/magnifying mirror so had to do my makeup (in dim light) sitting on the toilet using my compact mirror because the sink/counter is so deep it’s impossible to get close for eye makeup. ||This was fine for 1 night but the design was clearly done by a man without a woman’s input. If you don’t care about simple amenities this place is fine. But for the price ($400/night) for a basic room, it’s very overpriced.

Really great hotel - ignore any review that says otherwise. Terrific location,(perfect for the Americas Cup). Really nice room, with a view onto the street and marina beyond. The guy who runs the breakfasts is ferric - remembered our order from day one. always helpful and attentive. Restaurants/Bars/Beach within a 2 minute walk, Metro stop 6 minutes. Would thoroughly recommend.

Location of this hotel is great, not far from beaches and plenty of restaurants and tourist stores. The rooftop bar isn’t open, but it’s available to sit up there, not bad. Issue we had was while we were in our room with the do not disturb sign on door, a cleaning person opened the door. She did not see us, but left the door open. Unlocked unsecured she couldn’t have been sure anyone was in the room, but left the door open. We mentioned it to the desk. The response was it must have been a mistake and offered no further explanation. He later saw us and said he spoke to the cleaner and it was a mistake. The door was open a foot. We didn’t notice at first. My problem was if we were not in the room, this mistake could have resulted in us being robbed as the staff had left the area. Overall the place wasn’t very nice at all. The location is great but there are plenty of other hotels to spend your money at.

We have had some business gests staying two nights and they have been very disappointed. Rooms very extremely old and not maintained. There were even small insects in the rooms. Showers were really bad.

Yelp
A great choice during our stay in Barcelona. We were looking for a hotel within walking distance (3 blocks!) to the beach. Located in the Barceloneta neighborhood near Port Olimpic, this area boasts of a multitude of tapas restaurants with fresh, fresh seafood! Tapas places dot the whole stretch of Passeig Joan de Borbo, so venture towards town (away from the port) for cheaper prices but just as authentic cuisine. The 4 story hotel has clean and modern decor with an incredible rooftop lounge affording you 180 degree views of the port. The lobby was spacious with a bar/breakfast area to the right of the hotel entrance. The complimentary breakfast that came with our package was scrumptious! charcuterie, cheese, scrambled eggs, local bread and pastries were provided. The best part was the made to order cafe con leche. They use Illy espresso and the senora who made my cup everyday, did it with just a touch of milk which reminded me of the cappuccino that I get at my fave coffee shop in San Francisco. The rooms are big compared to the ones we've stayed in London and Paris. If you request a queen bed, they put 2 twin beds together. The only drawback to this great hotel is that the walls are VERY thin. The night before our flight out of Barcelona, we didn't sleep a wink because of the loud fiesta across the street and a crying baby next door. So, I guess I'm bringing ear plugs next time?!

Yelp
Hotel 54 Barceloneta is a comfortable, clean, boutique hotel in a fantastic Barcelona neighborhood near the beach, metro, buses, wonderful restaurants, bars and convenience stores. The staff was occasionally grumpy but quite accommodating. The on-site breakfast was quite good.

Yelp
This hotel is more of a guest house small bachelor pad but the showers and bathroom were updated. We had a room with a smoking patio small balcony you only can stand but if you open the curtains you can have a cold beer outside which is nice. They do have a rooftop that's really nice at night great view and if you have dinner or a bottle of wine/beers and take up there. This place is perfect if you want a clean cheap room right in the middle of the beach city area. They serve breakfast, have a/c and is right next door to shops restaurants and corner stores that are like 7-11's that sell alcohol. Aside from the place being small the place was perfect
