"In La Barceloneta, a seaside area known for its bars and clubs, I stayed at a stylish three-star hotel that offers terrace views over the beach and is just a three-minute walk from the sand. The rooms are bright with lots of natural light and minimalist décor—simple but functional, with pops of color—and while there aren’t many in-room amenities (no coffee/tea maker, no desk), each room has free Wi‑Fi and a flatscreen TV. The beds are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious with good water pressure, but note the partial glass wall in the bathroom provides little privacy if you’re traveling with others. There’s a bar on-site and a continental breakfast (often included) with a lot of options." - Matthew Kepnes
