We are so glad we found this place! It has a wonderful vibe in the middle of West Hollywood. A great upscale feel! Breakfast in the morning and Happy Hour in the evening. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the Rooftop and the quiet feel. We loved Josh at the front desk! He was so friendly and helpful!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel 850 SVB from June 02-25 to June 04-25, and the room was very nice, making it a pleasant first visit. However, we were unexpectedly charged an amenity fee of $25.00 per night (totaling $50.00), which wasn’t mentioned on the website or in our confirmation. When we asked the staff, they explained it covers bikes, breakfast, and the honor bar. We never used the bikes, the breakfast was minimal (see attached photo), and the honor bar wine was poor quality with no service support. This lack of transparency and the unjustified fee left us disappointed. We’d love to recommend this hotel, but can’t until this is addressed. Hope management resolves this for future guests.

Changing boutique hotel in WeHo Rooms are upscale. While the rooms aren’t large, they feel like you’re staying in a friend’s fancy guesthouse than a corporate hotel. Bathrooms are well appointed with marble cladding and large walk-in showers. Some rooms offer patios while others have fireplaces. My only criticism about the hard product is while it’s been remodeled and cared for, it is an older property and you do notice it with things like the smaller room size and weak water pressure. Staff are welcoming and very friendly. Josh offered a warm welcome and efficient check-in. The rate includes breakfast, which features a variety of pastries, coffee / tea, some fruit, and yogurt. There’s also a charming common area that has gummy worms / starburst candies in the evenings. There aren’t pools or exercise rooms. Located in WeHo, SVB is not close to any big LA attractions but it’s in the middle of most of the areas tourists would visit. The hotel is close to the street and if you’re in a forward facing room, it may be nosier than expected.

Best boutique hotel in Los Angeles. Great location at the heart of West Hollywood. Modern decoration. Lovely experience.

Google
Boutiques hotel in West Hollywood near shops and restaurants. More like an upscale B&B than hotel. Our room was small but clean and comfortable with lots of nice touches like a bar, refrigerator, big bathroom with great amenities, lots of hot water and surprisingly quiet given its near a busy area. The lounge area is inviting and there’s pastries, fruit, yogurt and coffee served in the morning. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There’s sufficient power plugs for charging and wifi is very good. Nice for a short stay or a longer vacation.

We were really looking forward to our stay at Hotel 850 SVB, but unfortunately, it turned into a complete disaster. When we checked into our room, we were greeted by an extremely loud humming noise, likely from a broken air conditioner, even though it was turned off. The night porter was the only person who actually tried to help, but despite his efforts, he couldn’t fix the issue. tried to fix it but failed after a lot of back and forth. After a lot of back and forth, we had no choice but to pack up all our belongings and switch rooms at 1:15 AM (!!). The second room wasn’t much better—the humming noise was still audible, though slightly quieter. Just as we were finally trying to rest, we were woken up at 8 AM by loud hammering from a construction site right next to our room. When we complained and asked for the night to be refunded and to leave early, the hotel insisted we still pay for the night. Their so-called “compromise” was to let us leave without charging for the remaining nights. That’s not a compromise—that’s ridiculous! Why should we pay for a night where we couldn’t sleep, had to move rooms in the middle of the night, and were woken up by hammering? To make matters worse, the hotel manager was “unavailable,” so we couldn’t speak to him directly. Strangely, the porter and booking.com were somehow able to reach him. While my husband was on the phone with booking.com to resolve the issue and get a refund for the first night, I was loading heavy suitcases into our car. The porter just stood there watching me struggle without offering any assistance or even pretending to care. When I confronted him, he claimed he wasn’t allowed to leave the desk, even though he had just disappeared into another room moments earlier! He could’ve at least called someone to help. Unacceptable. To top it off, I found hairs in the bathroom, so cleanliness was also not up to standard. We travel frequently, and this is one of the worst experiences we’ve had in years. We’re now wasting half a day transferring to another hotel and have opened a claim through booking.com to get our refund. Absolutely would NOT recommend this place to anyone (and I rarely say that!).

Great hotel, friendly staff, amazing breakfast/wine! Some small issues: 1. The sound insulation in the rooms isn't good, wind noise and car noise from the street is easily audible at night 2. The light switches (especially for the lamps) sometimes don't work reliably

Everything here is fantastic!! I was traveling for business and rely on a hotel to be my "home away from home" and this hotel did just that.|The housekeepers are phenomenal (I've never commented on housekeeping in my life!) but they were truly special and did not miss one detail. |Rooms are wonderful with thoughtful touches everywhere. |Common spaces excellent and charming. European breakfast is lovely even though I never had any - I don't eat breakfast but went for a quick look one morning.|Valets are all fabulous as well as hotel manager. The only critique and it's not important was the sweet, handsome (pretty eyes) front desk gentleman in the mornings is not a people person and seemed completely checked out and uninterested in talking to guests or offering any warmth or personality. The hotel is so FABULOUS, you won't even care!! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Boutique hotel in West Hollywood. Reminded me of pleasant B&B in the south. Our room was small but very comfortable and clean, with a big bathroom, great toiletries, and the room had a bar, tv, robes, slippers. Quiet night considering it's near a busy area. There's a comfy lounge on the second floor where a light breakfast is served (muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea). Restaurants nearby if you want a larger meal. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Yelp
As others have said this hotel is cute. Cute is code for small. Be careful when booking as I did not check 2 adults in a room and was put in a true 1 person room. No privacy in bathroom and a full size bed. Additionally the air was not working well. To the hotel's credit they did move us to a different room on our subsequent night. The neighbors are loud. Music thumping well past midnight and after that dog barking from a nearby home. This hotel is in a neighborhood, and is unique from any Marriott I have ever visited. If that s your thing the hotel is nice. For us we were not thrilled with our visit

Yelp
I love this place. Hotel 850 in West Hollywood may be one of the best stays in all of Los Angeles. The service is exceptional and the rooms are beyond comfortable. There's great attention to detail at every turn and the location is just right. I do recommend.

Yelp
I had a really lovely stay at this hotel, and hope that I get to visit again soon!! My check-in was very easy and the front desk staff was so kind and accommodating. I can not say one negative thing about the staff. From management, to front desk, to housekeeping, to valet, everyone was fabulous and kind. You can tell the establishment values excellent customer service and has curated a strong team. The hotel itself is adorable! The pictures online don't do it justice, but it is fabulously decorated and clean. There were so many lovely touches throughout the property, and in the rooms, that gave it a very upscale feel. I have zero complaints about the setup of the room. My room was perfect size with a small terrace for a single traveler, but two would have fit just fine. I reserved the "Comfortable" room type and was assigned Room 33. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows, smelled delightful upon entry, and was even at a perfectly cool temperature on my arrival. It had in room amenities for purchase, and complimentary items as well. All of the shampoos/conditioners/soaps had the most delightful rose scent! The only negative about my room was the noise that came from Santa Monica Blvd. The clubs there were bumpin' during the weekdays until about 2am each night throughout my stay. The hotel clearly can't do anything about that, so just be aware that you might hear some noise if you're a light sleeper like me and plan accordingly. I ended up getting ear plugs and that did the trick. I loved the continental breakfast that was included with my stay! They displayed assorted pastries, croissants, yogurts, fresh ginger and lemons, orange juice, coffees, espresso based beverages, and teas. It was organized beautifully and delicious. The manager told me they brought in the pastries from a local french bakery, and you could tell... they were so good! I also LOVED that they left the breakfast out until 10am. They also served complimentary wine on their terrace from 5pm-7pm! I didn't get a chance to participate in that, but the terrace was adorable, so I imagine that would have been lovely. I had to check out early due to work but the front desk staff and manager were incredibly professional and worked with me towards a resolution that accommodated my work requirements and finances, as well as upheld their hotel policies. I was very impressed by their flexibility, kindness and prompt attention. One last thing that was really cool... when you check into the hotel they send you a text message where you can ask questions anytime during your stay! It was really useful and something I've never experienced at any hotel before. I even used it to request a copy of my folio by email after I checked out, and the staff replied and resent it. Thank you Virginia, Josh, Winston and the rest of the Hotel 850SVB staff!

Yelp
I just want to say that this Hotel is SO cute. Enjoyed our stay so much. The room was always up to par and the staff was so lovely. Thank you to the front desk agent Jovy for being so sweet and helpful. Will stay again in the near future!

Yelp
Room 22 was extremely warm and uncomfortable. It is a nice property and evening staff was attentive. After numerous complaints they offered to move us across the street but that was at 11pm we were so tired already after a long day. Wished they would have offered sooner. Breakfast had a very limited selection of items so we went out to eat at a nice place nearby BBCM Sunset. Housekeeping staff was friendly. Wished the room was more comfortable we came up from San Diego to relax and disappointed. At least Moulin Rouge made up for it. Great show!!

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect at this hotel. It looks more like a house from the outside but it is most definitely a hotel. They have a small check-in desk where it was simple and easy to get checked in. The location here is perfect if you like west hollywood. Everything is within walking distance and you don't have to walk down a dark sketchy street to get to the hotel. Perfect spot. The hotel is smaller and doesn't have the feel of the big chains but still has all the qualities of a great hotel. They originally put us in a room next to the check in desk but switched us to the 4th floor when we asked if they had anything else. The room on the 4th floor was beautiful and had a sick balcony. The bathroom was spacious and the hotel was quiet and clean. In the mornings, they have breakfast on the 2nd floor terrace that consists of danishes, croissants, and other small items. No eggs or anything but still does the job for breakfast. The only hiccups was there was some confusion on the cleaning service and turn down service. The other issue was the ac didnt work in the room but they fixed that right away. Overall, I really liked our stay. I would recommend for anyone coming to LA who doesn't want your run of the mill turn and burn hotel chain. Check this place out you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
An idea location to stay for those who have a little familiarity with LA and are looking for a chic, low key boutique hotel to stay at whilst spending their days out and about. It's location is good, about a 10 minute ride from the events epicenter of the Waldorf Astoria, Peninsula and Beverly Hilton hotels. It feels very much like you are staying at someone's home and very relaxing. Service is good and housekeeping excellent (had a minor maintenance issue which was resolved whilst I was out of the room - prompt). The rooms are nicely done, mine had a fireplace and cozy. The rooms also have alarm clocks with 2 USB charging ports and a simple human mirror in the bathroom. Then potential downsides include no gym (though their is preferential access at a fee to a local classes orientated gym nearby), no restaurant - though a kitchen has coffee available all day plus snacks (fruit, muffins and nibbles). A breakfast fresh pastries (see photo) are added to the mix. The lounge is very relaxing and it is hard not to feel at home. Minor points of improvement - I could hear water all night outside somewhere near the room - even when not raining. Other than that, a great hideaway and one I hope to revisit.

Yelp
I appear to be an outlier. Ok, here's my disclaimer. I'm probably not the demographic for this hotel. None-the-less, I'll attempt a fair review. The staff is great . They are kind, thoughtful and professional. We had dinner in one night and it was a decent salad and steak. So why the three. The club across the street is so loud that it sounds like it's in the room. The noise went on until midnight. We're also near a fire and sheriff's station so there are periodic sirens at all hours. The location is actually decent as we enjoy walking to restaurants. But, the noise wipes out any positive component to staying here. The included breakfast is a step up from what you receive in most standard hotels with no hot items; croissants, muffins and cereal. The rooms are comfortable and bathrooms functional. It's a shame because this could be a gem of a boutique hotel. We won't be returning, however.

Yelp
Have yet to receive any response to my email regarding a refund - per the verbal request of the hotel. The hotel proceeded to uphold the charge - billing me for the full price of the room - despite it being the height of the Monkeypox outbreak.

Yelp
I was recommended to 850 Hotel by a friend in the luxury travel industry. We checked into room 13 a Superior Queen, the night of January 25th after booking 3 weeks in advance. Since we had upcoming dinner reservations, we did not have time to assess the room other than it was rather small and basic compared to how it was advertised online, as it was getting late and we had to dash out to dinner. When we returned for the night it became apparent that traffic from Santa Monica Blvd. was very loud. In addition, the lights on the outdoor patio were on all night making it even more difficult to sleep. Lastly, some of the fixtures were loose and the wires from the floor lamps were not discreetly secured behind a bureau and draped onto the floor. We have stayed in many boutique hotels, and expect much better for the price we paid for a basic room ($450/night including fees). Considering there is no pool or bar on location, I would think everything else would be top notch. There are many other luxury hotels options in the area that I am sure would have offered a better experience. We discussed our issues with Carlos at the front desk the next morning at checkout and he was very polite and helpful. However he did say that 850 has nicer rooms, and alluded to the possibility that our room could have been given to someone else since we checked in late. This is unacceptable considering we reserved our room 3 weeks ahead. A late check in is no excuse for giving us a bad room. He also mentioned he would leave a message with the manager who was off-site to get back to us upon his return, he never did. A few days later we received a generated email from the hotel asking about our experiences, we shared this information with them, to which we still have not received a response a week later. We expected more from this hotel and was a bit disappointed.

Yelp
Great service, beautiful and comfortable room. Valet parking is quite expensive ($48) compared to other hotels in LA that I've stayed at. The main thing that set this hotel aside from others was the friendly front desk staff. They were always quick to answer all questions with a smile and accommodated an early check-in at 11:30 AM instead of the normal 3 PM. The rooms were spacious with a flat screen TV with Directtv and over 400 channels! However, no smart TV applications such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc. WiFi was easy to connect to and there was no device limitation and no need to pay extra for 'higher speeds'. I did not experience any lag when browsing the internet or streaming shows/videos. The shower is beautiful with white marble interior and the bathroom is equipped Hotel 850 branded amenities: 1 dental kit, 1 sewing kit, 1 shaving kit, a loofah and a shower cap. They also provided a comfortable bath robe with an extra one in closet! I didn't use their shampoo or conditioner but the shower gel smelled very good and water pressure in the shower was good as well! The room also has two glass bottles of filtered water for you to pour into cups and a complimentary round of free snacks. The bed was the best part of the stay!! As the front staff said "It's like sleeping on clouds" and I couldn't agree more. Massive bed with plenty of room for 2 with space to roll around and the pillows were very comfortable as well. I had a great night of sleep and so did my girlfriend. I hope one day we'll be able to find out what bed they use so we can get one for ourselves LOL.

Yelp
Just checked in! Clean, peaceful, (Moderate street noise in back of property)and comfortable. Nice mini bar with snacks. Roomy bathroom. Wonderful lighting with privacy. This is better than some 5star resorts I've stayed. If In WEHO definitely give a try. Parking is extreme $48 overnight but it is what is.

Yelp
Excellent boutique hotel located between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We love all about Hotel 859 SVB from its perfect location to its cozy intimate bedrooms (including fireplace and lovely bathroom) and its delicious French breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful and the roof terrace has perfect views on the fantastic neighborhood.

Yelp
We booked 2 rooms here Aug 2019 when we were taking our daughter to college. Total nightmare. I had booked rooms 3 months in advance requesting rooms on same floor. They said didn't have them we would have to wait. We said no problem. Came back @5pm & they gave us 2 rooms @higher rate (already paying $500per night) on ground floor in back). Terrible rooms. Neighbor's barking dogs, views of their chain links fences & apts. When we walked in, discovered they hadn't changed minibar, so we would have been charged for 2 large bottles of booze if we hadn't noticed right away. Supposed to valet our car. As of 10pm that night car was still parked out on street, loaded up with daughter's things for her college dorm. Not a great neighborhood. Target for theft. Yet $48 valet fee included in room. Breakfast next morning. Not ready at 7am as promised. When was set out in galley kitchen, 3 employees (not waiters) janitors stood in the kitchen with us for 20 mins eating the same breakfast. At checkout, attempted to overcharge us for several things that were supposed to be included & didn't show us the bill. In addition...beware NO SERVICES. No gym, no restaurant, no bar. And when we were there in August the only public restroom in the "Lobby" was out of order. If you are paying $100/per night - sure. Anything over that is a ripoff.

Yelp
Look no further! Book this place. I only stayed one night and wish I could have stayed longer. Everything is top notch, from check in to toiletries, breakfast was awesome! Fancy coffee machine, comfy bed! Love everything about this place! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very nice, stylish hotel, good location, good service. Price is good too. I highly recommend staying here if you're in LA!
