....probably is the right way to describe my experience in this 5-star hotel. Let's start with the positives. There is a really nice spa with a great whirlpool, the gym is decent. Breakfast is a party in the morning with a wide selection of dishes displayed on an appetizing buffet. What I did not like. The hotel has no room to sit outside, no (rooftop) terrace, no patio. The bar looks sad. There is no lobby where you can sit comfortably. Our room had windows in the slanting roof, so we could not look outside. And if you create rooms without a view I would make the room visually appealing, but the room is mostly grey, no art on the wall, no flowers, just a lot of grey. The bathroom is sparkling, but there is no room to put your stuff, no shelves or anything. Staff is very young and friendly, but also inexperienced and there does not seem to be anyone senior around to teach them about hospitality. For example, the hotel claims there are bikes available. When we asked about them, we were told there were two bikes for the whole hotel, and they were reserved. Two bikes for the whole hotel? That's marketing, not 5-star service. And if no bikes are available at the hotel a receptionist might suggest an alternative, and a better one than come by tomorrow and perhaps the bikes are available. When I complained the receptionist on duty was very nice and she listened. And she tried to make amends, but sorry too little too late.
