Hotel & Restaurant Hirschen offers a charming, traditional atmosphere with vintage-style rooms that feel warm and nostalgic. The location is excellent, surrounded by peaceful scenery and offering lovely views — ideal for a relaxing getaway. The only downside is that the room rates are a bit on the higher side. Still, if you’re looking for a quiet stay with beautiful surroundings and a touch of classic character, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Used to be better and they are clearly cutting corners. Dinner, part of the package, was nice but did not justify the price. Breakfast with a limited selection and not enough for everyone in the breakfast area. Had to keep an eye for when the staff came with more food to ensure I got what i wanted. No custom made eggs, which is usually an option in 4-star hotels. Large rooms with outdated furniture. The new breakfast area is very nicely done. More pleasant service would have been appreciated. Overall: overpriced and overrated. Will be staying somewhere else next time I visit the area.

We had a two night stay at Hirschen and had a great time. It is a traditional German style hotel: a bit old-fashioned but very clean and everyone was very friendly & helpful. It was one of the cheapest hotels that we stayed in during our trip through Germany, but we never had the feeling that it was a cheap hotel. We had a spacious family room with a sitting area, two baby beds and even an extra bed: all in a 80’s style and again spotless. The only remark is that I took a while to get warm water in the shower. The hotel staff was very friendly to us and our kids and they are well equipped to host kids (baby beds; kids menu etc). The hotel has a large swimming pool on the 3 floor with an unique view over the village: definitely one of the most spectacular views I have ever had from an indoor pool. It was a bit of a puzzle to get there, but we could stay inside and I find that positive. Dinner and breakfast were great value for money, even serving sekt (German champagne) at breakfast. The possibility to have a drink at their winestube just outside the hotel and on its terrace was great as well. We stayed there after we visited Freiburg and spent the next day in the area which was very beautiful. Overall conclusion: great value for money and I would recommend the hotel to everyone given their great service.

I attended a birthday party at the hotel. The moment you pull up into the car park and walk into the venue, you are surrounded by luxury yet a homely feel at the same time. In the room where the party was being held there was a large print of the germany landscape which was illuminated from behind to brighten the room whilst blending in with wooden beam decor. The food was a menu selected by the host, some of it not what I would've chosen, but all cooked and presented excellently. The monkfish was my particular favourite! The waiting staff were very polite and accommodating to my minimal German vocabulary. They also had amazing patience for the children that were running about and almost sending dishes flying. All in all, great service, great food and great venue.

A welcomed combination of the rigor in excellence one expects from a classic hotel with a very relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are bigger than anything you will see in Europe, staff is very friendly, the garden is lovely, the pool and sauna (recommended) are very pleasant (with a view to the close by black forest) with no extra costs. The restaurant is renowned, though only had "the small menu" at that particular night. Breakfast is OK. It can only be recommended.

Family run and operated very friendly and professional. The reception was always helpful with answers to our questions. The breakfast offers a large assortment of choices. We had half board with dinner included. Dinners were fabulous and our special dietary needs were met. Rooms are spacious and clean. A very comfortable place to call home while on the road. This was my second stay here. I would return again.

Always a very friendly welcome. Excellent food at the restaurant. If you are looking for "gastronomic quality food" you will find the right place. Prices correct, including alcool. I already came 4 times, even with children, that's fine. Great new sauna. Swimming pool with nice 29° water; many thanks !

Third time in this finest hotel and we shall visit again for sure. The Hotel is Located 10 - 15 minutes drive from Freiburg. Many sites attractions that require a short driving time. The Hotel itself is Family managed and so its wonderful restaurant and vineyard. The place is surrounded by Park. The hotel rooms are large and pleasant.|The Hotel has an inner pool at the 3rd floor, Sauna wet and dry and 2 tennis courts.
