I stayed at Hotel le Faucigny for three nights before and after hiking the Tour de Mont Blanc and I only have good things to say about it. The location is prime - right in Chamonix and there is a hot tub and spa that I heard were quite nice. They provide a complementary breakfast in the morning that includes a variety of yogurts and cereals, several different types of fantastic fresh bread, lots of fruit, eggs, ham, coffee, and juices. It is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Plus they provide tea and cookies in the later afternoon.
Although the rooms are small, I found them beyond adequate. They provide bathrobes and slippers, provide soaps, shampoo, and lotions, and have nice bathtubs in the room. Our showerhead was one of those rain showerheads, which I really enjoyed. Plus, the free wifi works in the rooms.
My only warning is to tall people - the ceilings are slanted and quite short, making it difficult for the tall gentleman on my trek. Even I bumped my head a few times getting into the bathroom, and I'm only 5'6"!
