Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel – Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tradition wins out in this 16th-century colonial-style mansion just two blocks from the Plaza de Armas, Cusco’s main square. Full of colonial sculpture and artwork, along with period antiques, gilded headboards, and crystal chandeliers, the hotel feels like a historical movie set—only updated with modern amenities like heated floors in the bathrooms and an oxygen system to prevent altitude sickness. From the coca tea you sip on arrival to the traditional Andean food at Mishti Mestizo Restaurant—corn soup, shrimp in organic quinoa, alpaca loin with Peruvian tubers—and the pisco sour nightcapper at Khasikay Bar, you’ll feel thoroughly seduced by the flavors of this unique Incan city."

Our stay at Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel was truly exceptional! The location is perfect — right in the historic center of Cusco, just a short walk from Plaza de Armas, yet peaceful and quiet at night.||The hotel itself is stunning, set in a beautifully restored colonial mansion that blends traditional charm with modern comfort. Every detail feels thoughtful and elegant. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated, featuring luxurious linens, a marble bathroom, and even an oxygen enrichment system to help with altitude.||The staff were outstanding — warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fresh and local options, and the restaurant offers excellent gourmet Peruvian cuisine in a refined atmosphere.||Aranwa Boutique Hotel is the perfect place for anyone seeking comfort, elegance, and a touch of history while exploring Cusco. A peaceful oasis in the middle of the city — highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed for two nights at this hotel, and the staff were all amazing — always with a smile on their faces! I want to give a special thanks to Guido, the receptionist. When I arrived, I was in the middle of an important online meeting for work, and my drop-off was earlier than the check-in time. Guido was incredibly kind and supportive; he helped me find a quiet and comfortable place to stay until my room was ready. He was so welcoming and made a great first impression. Thank you so much, Guido! 💙

My stay at the Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that made me feel instantly at home. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect — always friendly, attentive, and eager to help.||The hotel itself is stunning — a beautifully restored colonial mansion filled with art, history, and charm. My room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with every comfort imaginable, including oxygen-enriched air that made adjusting to Cusco’s altitude much easier.||Breakfast was a highlight each morning — fresh fruit, local specialties, and delicious coffee served in a lovely courtyard setting. The location couldn’t be better — just steps away from the Plaza de Armas, yet peaceful and quiet enough to feel like a private retreat.||I can’t recommend Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel enough for anyone visiting Cusco. It’s the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and authentic Peruvian warmth. I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful charming hotel right in middle of action of Cusco. Location was ideal; we were able to walk to all our excursions. Cooking class ended up being right across street from hotel! Rooms were gorgeous and very clean. Staff was hospitable. When we arrived suffering from altitude sickness and staff treated us to coco tea. Would definitely return next time while in Cusco.

i left out my clothes in the hotel. and when messaging them via Expedia website after coming back to US, they responded really quickly and confirmed my inquiry. from that point on, i simply needs to register on West union and have them to send my clothes back. of course, i'd need to pay for the postage!||also, the breakfast of the hotel was great! very tasty and classy.

This is a lovely hotel. It’s actually a museum filled with lots of antiques and artwork. Decor throughout is really beautiful. Interior patio adds an ideal space for relaxation on adjoining terraces. Our room 220 space was on the small side but ok. Bathroom was quite large with a hot tub and separate shower space and double sinks. The food on the restaurant and it’s service is 5* and highly recommended. Overall this is a very beautiful 5* hotel walking distance to Plaza de Armas and other Cusco main attractions. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back. Thanks Aranwa Cusco!!

I suspect Aranwa pays for fake reviews. Please read negative comments before booking. I also stayed 3 nights at Aranwa Urquillos: this is not that. That was a true 5-star experience. Aranwa Cusco is La Quinta with better artwork. 1) AC didn’t work. Left for dinner and room was still at 25c. Maintenance man comes, tells me it’s all good, give it 15 minutes. Gives me a fan. Go to bed. Wake up. Room is 24c. No exterior windows or any other way to cool the room down. Miserable. I’d rather be at a dirty hostel with a window. 2) Shower is missing a glass panel. There’s 2 tracks for 2 panels, but only 1 panel installed. It’s not a major inconvenience as water in the floor is really the hotel’s problem not mine (although it does explain the musty smell), but it brings up the obvious question: why? Wouldn’t you expect a nice hotel to go out and fix an issue like this pretty quickly? Puzzling.

You can’t beat the location. You can’t beat the service. You can’t beat the amenities. Heated floors in the bathroom, delicious food in the restaurant (try the lamb shank), and an overall terrific atmosphere. The people who work here are clearly dedicated to making every guest’s stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and they succeed. So glad I was able to spend my time in Cusco here. Thank you to all the hardworking people who made my stay so lovely.
