8 Mendoza Hotels for Wine and Sun Lovers

"Auberge du Vin tells you exactly what to expect in its name. Set on a private vineyard along the Andes mountains, this 28-room getaway located in Mendoza’s Uco Valley marries lo-fi elegance with the Auberge touch for luxury. A remote escape where the wine flows freely, the stars shine brightly, and the snow-capped mountains rise up majestically in the distance, this is one stop where all outside noise fades away." - Mark Fedeli

This is anything but a 5 star hotel. It is very outdated, stuffy, no facilities other than a dirty pool under maintenance, the restaurant serves less than mediocre food, breakfast is awfully bad, no variety, coffee is bad. The staff are mostly friendly, but not trained properly (dirty fingernails touching the straw when serving a mate), this is the ultimate decay of once a decent place. Extremely overpriced. No go, there are way better options in this price range in Uco valley.

This hotel was a mixed bag. The first room we were given stunk of something really awful. The second room was much better. The staff was also a mixed experience. One young woman was excellent, she was a waitress and bartender. The front desk staff was professional and friendly. Mainly the rest of staff was not up to snuff for an Autograph property. The road to the hotel was average for Argentina, but would be difficult for city dwellers. Basically a dirt road with large dips and rocks. It rained heavily our second night and the bathoom was very wet. Rain came thru the walls and soaked the floor. We mentioned this to the desk and they did not even react. It must be normal. I don't think I can recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very nice, service is great. Restaurant prices are ridiculously high for the food quality. I mean RIDICULOUSLY high.

Difficult to believe this is actually a Marriott as claimed, but suppose it really is. It is very old and pretty tired. Several employees did say a renovation is coming very soon. The good news is that the rooms are quite large--both bedrooms and bathrooms. The breakfast buffet selection was minimal and unimpressive. The coffee however is very good. The staff in the restaurant tried hard and at breakfast made some fabulous lattes with their Nespresso machine. The dinners were largely unappetizing and under seasoned.Never had lunch there so don't know about that. The hotel bar is adequate.||The biggest complaint I have with this place is that on the day of travel from South Carolina to Chile where we stayed a few days prior to going over to Tupungato, I received an email from the front desk staff at this hotel that although my reservation was confirmed, they could no longer provide a room for me on the final day of the reservation with no attempt at offering an alternative place to stay for our last night in Argentina. So just minutes before boarding the plane to South America, I had no place to stay on the last night of our visit. Had to scramble to get a room at another place nearby. The couple we traveled with are Marriott Bonvoy Titanium, and they were also impacted but the hotel quickly booked them at Gaia. They asked the hotel staff to help us too, but the hotel declined to do so, presumably because we don't have Titanium status.||This staff was very unprofessional and unless you're willing to be treated like you don't matter, I'd recommend finding another place to stay.

Wonderful property amid gorgeous vineyards and stunning snow-capped Andes. Big room with kitchen and lovely view. I didn't realize they didn't make their own wine but they had a good selection nonetheless. Friendly and helpful staff. There's some untapped potential in this place but nothing that mars one's stay. Know that it feels a bit deserted - so if you're looking for solitude in a beautiful location, it's perfect.

Really cool place. Actually it seems out of place being so far off the road. Zoom out on Google maps and the actual building is 1.5km to the NW of the road entrance. The owners dogs were in the lobby, and later on were by our patio door - being dog lovers we thought it strange but totally ok. This place has awesome views from the rooftop and a nice pool courtyard. We did not eat their resturant, but it looked nice enough. Our room was totally engulfed by the vinyards.
