Balm - Bistro

"The relaxed and friendly second restaurant at Hotel Balm also serves ambitious cuisine. This can be enjoyed in the form of a set menu of up to four courses which you can put together yourself. At midday, this place is popular for its short lunchtime set menu." - Michelin Inspector

It was an excellent experience. The hotel location is in Meggen 12 minutes away by bus to Central Lucern. The view, the cleanliness and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Miss Leean. Good food and breakfast The hostess was caering and attentive during all morning encounters. we enjoyed our time at the hotel. It is recommended if you don't mind the stairs.

One of the best hotels we had stayed during our 2 weeks holidays in Switzerland. Nice, clean & big family room with big bathroom - 2 sinks & powerful shower & a big balcony overlooking the lake . Very good breakfast too with quality produce & eggs made to order in beautiful restaurant settings which is very rare in Switzerland for a 3* hotel! . Tap water is from MEGGEN spring water ! Free Lucerne visitor card for free travels within zone 10 . Bus stop in front of hotel which will take you to Lucerne bahnhof in 13mins. One set back is there is no lift .

A thoroughly enjoyable place to stay. It is in a fantastic location just a few minutes outside of Lucerne. Rooms are sparkling clean, the staff make every effort to make your stay comfortable and pleasant and the restaurant inside the hotel is exceptional. We had a great stay, highly recommend.

2nd time we have stayed here in the last 3 years, its a fantastic family run hotel, a short bus ride from the centre of Luzern, but you get free public transport with your stay here, bus stop is directly outside hotel and buses are every 10 or 15 mins depending on time of day. Staff are exceptional, very friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast is of very high quality and plentiful. The hotel is the cleanest we have ever stayed in, the rooms are large and many have great views over the lake and mountains, well worth asking for an upgrade when booking to make sure you get a view, and not an expensive upgrade either! They also have a very good restaurant at the hotel which produces the best food we have ever eaten. All in all we cant recommend this hotel highly enough it is just a superb hotel to relax and use as a base to travel locally from.

What a wonderful stay at Hotel Balm! The staff were accommodating and helpful with our changes of plans. Comfy beds, clean, and stunning views. The included breakfast was superb! If you can book a reservation at Bistro (restaurant inside), I highly recommend you do it. The pre fixe menu and all of the food on it were a highlight of our trip. The chef was even making rounds to speak with all of the tables.

Recently stayed in the ‘double room’, not much of a view with the roofline and building but room was modern and clean. Very good location, with free access to the bus directly opposite the hotel into town and plenty of free parking available on site. Daily breakfast was well appointed with a range of meats, cheeses, baked goods, eggs and fruit managed by kind and helpful staff. Downside was no mini fridge or tea/coffee making facilities available or air conditioning in the room. Overall, a pleasant stay.

This hotel is perfectly located to visit Lucern and all the surroundings. |The room was very large and just as the pictures. Very nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel, so it is very easy to go to Lucern. The pool is a plus, with its stunning view on the mountain.|Breakfast was a bit disappointing, not in the choice (which is quite large) but in the quality (e.g. cereals were from big brands). The Bircher was delicious though.
