Hotel Balm

Beautiful hotel just outside of Luzern. We booked it on the day as we spontaneously decided to stay a night in Luzern. Staff was really friendly and accommodating throughout the stay. The rooms are exactly as in the pictures on the hotel website, feels like renovated not long ago. Pretty new and nice. We got a soft knock on our door at 9:45am asking if we are sure that we don't want any breakfast. (I didn't hang the do not disturb sign out ;-) ) I forgot that all bookings include breakfast. So we dashed down to the European breakfast bar, which was quite nice. They also extended the breakfast time until we were finished. (usual ends at 10am) Comfy bed, good hot water and pressure, overall a great stay. They also have a small hotel bar with local wines, beers and spirits, open till 10pm. They offer gluten free bread for breakfast, but you need to let them know at booking or check-in.

We stayed in the hotel for two nights with breakfast and completely agreed that we have to come here again! Great breakfast, clean and cosy rooms, beautiful view!! The staff (literally everyone; from the restaurant to the recepcion) is like a family; very friendly, kind and warming, something you can not describe with words. 💕They gave us a map and recommendations how to make a tour on the city. You get free tickets for the bus which is in front of the hotel and rides you to the center. You have all the recommendations from us! Wish you all the best and hope we see again 💕

This was the best hotel on our road trip so far. The room was large and spacious with a sofa and coffee table. Lovely big bathroom with powerful shower and soft towels. The pool provided a much refreshing swim surrounded by lovely views of the mountains. The food and service in the restaurant was great. Breakfast was delicious with eggs made to order and a vast choice of bread, cereal, fruit etc. The staff were helpful and friendly. They worked hard but always made time to talk and answer any questions. They explained how to use the free bus pass and the times of buses and trains. The location is perfect with views of the lake. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel with regular buses into Luzern. We enjoyed the drinks in the bar with excellent service. We felt welcomed and looked after the whole time we were there. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I just want to take a moment to rave about the Hotel Balm. We booked this the day before arrival, and it was the best ending to our trip! The room was spacious, updated and clean. The views off the back deck were lovely, and the reception area had complimentary coffee and tea. The bus to Lucerne is conveniently located outside the hotel and runs frequently to and from the city center. The best part of this hotel is the reception. They were so friendly and helpful. When they found out we had an early flight out the following morning and would miss breakfast, they offered to make us a “to go breakfast” that we could grab from the refrigerator on the way out. This was above and beyond and so appreciated! Thank you for the most enjoyable stay!

We are totally recommending to stay in hotel Balm, the staff is brilliant, it’s very clean, beautiful breakfast and we upgraded to a bigger room with balcony and amazing view. Also hotel fave us free vouchers for the bus to Lucerne and back, which was very convenient and easy.

Everything is perfect, from location to hospitality. Beautiful views, perfect rooms, great staff that is professional and will fill you with all possible suggestions and answer every question. Nice parking area, public transport is close. Breakfast with options for everyone.

Would definitely stay here again! Spacious room with a great view. Breakfast was delicious and had a good selection of items - mostly cold but always offered fresh eggs every morning. The overnight oats were the best! The hotel is outside of Lucerne but the bus stop is literally at the hotel so super easy to get in and out of town. ||Unfortunately the bistro was closed for holiday during our stay but staff always offered us something to drink when we sat out on the patio in the evenings.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful room with a lake view. Staff wonderful very helpful, restaurant good with lovely food. Staff informed us that we could use the bus free into Luzern.
