Hotel Baume, Paris - Explore & Book

"Paris has more hotels than any other city in Europe. So how do you choose? Location is crucial. And you can’t get much better than being amongst the bustling boulevards of the Left Bank. The group behind another favourite in Paris, Hotel Saint Andre des Arts, has chosen the heart of the glorious 6th arrondissement - the most ‘Parisian’ of neighbourhoods, and the most stylish - as the site for their brilliant small hotels. And boy does Hotel Baume deliver style in spades. Step inside and you’re transported back to the 1930s, with the addition of modern comforts, of course. This is a highly stylised experience. The lobby is a riot of hot colours. Walls are papered in striking patterns. The Art Deco furnishings are all sinuous shapes and exotic materials. And each of its 35 rooms is themed — fashion, film, design, jewellery or ‘club’— with decorative flourishes to match. Parisian hotels are infamous for stuffing their guests into shoebox-sized rooms. At Hotel Baume, you have five room sizes to choose from, but even the smallest is designed to maximize your movements. Coming during the fairer months? Then spring for a balcony or terrace where you can sip a tasty pre-mixed cocktail (there’s an honesty bar in the downstairs lounge) and congratulate yourself on finding such glamorous digs in this chicest of locations. Highs The perfect location on a quiet street in the beating heart of the Left Bank, just steps from the Jardin du Luxembourg A high-design experience, with a modern spin on the glamorous 1930s, plus fancifully themed rooms The Deluxe Terrace rooms have stunning private terraces with rooftop views. Just imagine having your morning coffee en plein air a Paris An ideal starting point to explore the city's top attractions on foot, plus convenient metro and bus stops to take you further afield Bathrooms are spotless, with bathrobes, slippers and custom toiletries, plus a nightly turn-down service with free Evian Lows No restaurant — but then wouldn’t you rather dine out? No mini-fridges in rooms, but there’s an honesty bar in the lounge with cocktails, cold drinks and hotel-made munchies If you’re not into the gilded, veloured experience you may prefer a less stylised stay While the front desk is a well-oiled machine, we found breakfast service a little bit limp No coffee machines in Classic and Superior rooms, these can be added for a daily fee on request" - Kate Darnton

Hôtel Baume (Paris, Île-de-France) 22 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For a new twist on one of Paris’s classic styles, look no further than the Hôtel Baume, an updated Art Deco gem on the storied Left Bank. Though it takes its design cues from the Thirties — textured silk, exotic woods, chrome, mirrors and shagreen — it’s a thoroughly contemporary boutique hotel, augmenting its air of refined elegance with some thoughtful modern details." - Tablet Hotels

Great stay, very close to the Odeon Metro and Bus Stops. Few minutes walk to the Latin Quarter restaurants, cafes, and the Seine. There are coffee shops just around and within the Hotel as well. Staff was great and professional. I was in the Superior room which was really nice and had a private bathroom. They helped us by storing our luggage for sometime after Checkout. Would stay again whenever possible.

We had such a lovely stay at Hotel Baume! The staff were so kind and even let us check in early, which made our arrival so much easier. Our room was spotless, and the shower was fantastic. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the Latin Quarter, but still nice and quiet at night. We felt really comfortable here and would definitely stay again on our next trip to Paris.

The Hotel Baume does something that is exceptionally hard to do in a city like Paris: it provides style, professionalism, and personal service -- of the type where you feel that the staff is there for you, no matter what your questions or concerns. The hotel design is beautiful and the spaces are intimate. Spotless and well cared for. A place that you return to with joy at the end of the day. And of course, the location is simply the best. Central, close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. I'm in Paris often and I am always excited to be coming back to the Baume. Most of the staff have been there for a number of years and they do a fabulous job of making you feel welcome and cared for. Great team, under great management. I have high expectations and they always exceed them!

Lovely hotel with professional and very helpful front desk. Great location for us. Our room was quite small but fine if you are only staying for a few days. Excellent breakfast served almost immediately in cosy dining room. We will definitely be back to stay when next in Paris.

This is the perfect boutique hotel in an excellent location. We had a room that included a very nice outdoor patio. Each afternoon we had a glass of wine on the patio to relax and regroup. The lobby honesty bar made this possible! Every staff member was kind, helpful and professional. We did not want for a thing! Would stay at Hotel Baume again in a heartbeat. Thank you all!

This hotel is in an ideal spot for visiting Paris. Almost all the sights are in walking distance and plenty of restaurants and shops around it. The hotel itself is lovely, well-designed and comfortable. Great showers with a rainfall head! The staff couldn't have been nicer, so helpful for getting things arranged. Definitely will go back next time I'm in Paris!

We stayed at the Baume hotel for four nights.||We were first assigned to junior suite number 51. The room was dreary with a strange layout. Although the hotel website stated that all junior suites have either a city view or a balcony, our room had neither. Moreover, I found the bed incredibly uncomfortable. Every time I sat down on it, it made creaking noises from the springs. My experience was similar to sleeping in a hammock. The water pressure in the shower was extremely weak, and the drain of water in the sink was slow. I asked to change rooms, and this was done after two nights.||Our next room was junior suite 45. This was much better. It had a fabulous layout and a view of the city street, which is very quiet. The water pressure of the shower was excellent, (but the hot water was sometimes only lukewarm). Unlike our first room, there was no fridge or bathtub, but the absence was not a big deal in the scheme of things. Most importantly, this room had a very comfortable bed. They told me that the bed in junior Suite 45 was new, which is interesting because they originally told me that all beds in the hotel were the same.||On the positive side breakfast, though not buffet style but rather à la carte, was excellent. Day, who was our server, was extremely professional and always concerned about client service.||The people at the front desk were uniformly friendly; however, many lacked experience. Although we were the only ones checking in, check-in took more than 10 minutes. The hotel seemed understaffed and disorganized. For example, despite the fact that I gave my email address to them on at least four occasions, notices were sent to my travel agent instead. When I asked for a nearby restaurant reservation at 7:30 PM, it took them until 810 to come back with three recommendations. When I chose one of the three, they said there was no reservation available until 9:00 PM. This is puzzling since they were at least a dozen nearby restaurants that seem to have availability. We went to one of those.||My experience was very colored by how bad junior suite 51 was; if this was my only room, I would have given the hotel 2 stars. Given the quality of junior suite 45, I would have awarded the hotel a rating of 4 stars. This led to an average rating of 3 stars.

It was total joy to return to this very special Parisian hotel. I come back to it frequently and I am never disappointed. The room (I opt for the larger ones) is beautiful and immaculate. Good closet space, comfortable bed, stellar view onto a quiet street, lovely decoration, and a location that cannot be beat. The staff is friendly and very professional. If you come back as a repeat visitor, they are always happy to greet you with warmth and a smile. If you're there only once -- you are still a VIP. This is an exceptionally well run hotel. I've stayed in dozens of Parisian hotels. Le Baume stands at the very top of the pack. A real gem of a place!

Yelp
Hotel Baume is centrally located in the 6th arrondissement, steps from the imposing Odeon Theater and a short walk to Paris's iconic Luxembourg Garden. The 1930's themed chic hotel earns high marks for service and cleanliness. Rooms are all individually adorned with distinctive decoration and are spacious by Paris standards. We travelled through Europe during a heat wave and the air conditioning held up well. On the downside, there isn't much besides your room, a small breakfast dining area, and the front desk. There is an "honor bar" - but not much otherwise. Then again, you're in Paris, so there's always a lively café right around the corner.

Yelp
The Baume was a nice place to stay. It's located in the 6th arrondissement, a busy hub. However, the hotel is slightly off the beaten path and provides comfortable noiseless nights. I stayed for two weeks in a suite with its own private courtyard. The design of the suite is great; it comes with a separate bed chamber, a toilet, a bathroom, living room, and sitting room. Housekeeping is immaculate as expected. They changed bedsheets, bathrobes and slippers without me having to ask them to do so. In the evening, they come the second time to tidy up the suite so the place is always clean and neat. Front desk staff are very helpful and gracious. Half way through my stay I received a thank-you note that also said it was supposed to come with a drink. I have no idea what the drink was because there was none. The last few days of my stay, there was a water leak. Although they tried, the issue was not fix and the room smelled like wet rag. Without this incident, my two-week stay would be perfect.

Yelp
Terrific hotel. Front office staff very helpful before my arrival and during my stay. The bathroom is divine with rain shower head, heated towel racks and glass shower enclosure. Room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was plentiful and served in very chic spot

Yelp
This is a small but very clean and modern hotel in a wonderful location! Staff was courteous and eager to help in anyway to help us with local recommendations. I really enjoyed my stay and have recommended this hotel to other friends visiting Paris. Keep up the nice work, Hotel Baume

Yelp
The staff was very nice, it felt like 5 stars service. The rooms were small but fully updated and functional and the neighborhood was nice. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

Yelp
Warning to those who are trying to book Hotel Baume - they are completely inflexible with reservations and if for some reason you are unable to travel to Paris and you've booked a non-refundable room, they will not make an exception. This hotel looked lovely and we were very excited to stay there but when our plans changed it was very disappointing that they would not give us a refund. It is 4 weeks out and they could definitely fill the room with another guest, but instead they remain INFLEXIBLE. Warning to other travelers - carefully review the conditions of your reservation, this hotel does not work with guests to resolve situations well.

Yelp
Loved staying on this quiet street in St Germaine right next to the Luxembourg gardens! The rooms are pretty small but overall cute boutique hotel with good service. We enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Baume in mid-October and we had an outstanding experience. The location is perfect...quiet street but close to great wine bars, restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The room itself was super-clean, beautifully furnished and quiet. The bed was so comfy that I slept like I was at home. The bathroom was perfectly appointed and the shower had aggressive water pressure...just the way I like it....and I felt rejuvenated after my long days walking the city. The front desk staff helped us with dinner reservations, transport to the airport and directions. They were friendly and very accommodating. We will stay at Hotel Baume again for all the reasons above and more that I likely forgot to mention!

Yelp
My family was affected by the recent tragedy in Nice and as a result we were unable to keep our travel plans to Paris. I called the hotel myself and spoke with a woman named SANDRINE who claimed she was a manager. Despite the awful circumstances, the hotel would not refund our stay despite the fact that we had to immediately return home as result of the violence and injuries endured in Nice. Instead, SANDRINE repeatedly told me there was "nothing" she could do and that "our situation was not her problem". When I pointed out that she was choosing to do nothing she hung up on me. This added a lot of insult to an already terrible situation. I've been traveling to France for nearly 4 decades. Never in my life have I ever encountered the stereotypical rude Parisan that is portrayed by the media. That is until I spoke with SANDRINE. I was horrified to know that a person like this exists in the world - someone who would choose to benefit from another's tragedy. What kind of person does that? What kind of business does that? The worst AirBNB in the city would be better than giving the Hotel Baume a dime of your money. 84 people were killed, countless others injured and all they care about is making money. Disgusting. We specifically booked our trip after the attacks this past fall as we wanted to show support for France via tourism. Instead we are now being punished for it. I'm so sad that people like SANDRINE and business like Hotel Baume exist in the world. My only hope is that the owners of this so called establishment read this and realize that she should not be representing their business. If I do not hear from them and receive a satisfactory solution, I'll assume they intend for their business to to profit off the unspeakable tragedy. I'd also like to note that we specific choose to stay at this type of establishment rather than an AirBNB so as to assume the type of accommodation we would be getting. Friends and family we were traveling with and also affected by the events in Nice had booked elsewhere (1 with a hotel (pre-paid, nonrefundable) and 1 with AirBNB (also prepaid non-refundable) and in both cases, given the situation each were refunded with no issue. I'd be happy to recommend that instead of staying with these awful people that you instead go to Le Prince Regent on the next block over. We only considered this awful place because the LPR was booked. The fact that I even have to resort to posting this review (after writing to the hotel's owners and not receiving a response after more than 2 weeks' time) turns my stomach.

Yelp
Super thrilled with our one night stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. We honeymooned in Brussels but spent two days and a night in Paris. This hotel was perfect for us and I wish we could have stayed longer. We jumped on the 40E upgrade to a suite with a balcony and were not disappointed - it was such a captivating way to start our Paris trip. The balcony was gorgeous and full of fresh flowers and the room and bathroom were wonderful. My husband thought the bed was hard but I didn't notice. The service at the hotel was super - they could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We also loved their 'honesty bar' - they had a great white bordeaux. I liked the location as well - close to the Odeon metro, the Jardin de Luxembourg, and walking distance to a bunch of good restaurants and bars at nighttime. Would stay again. Glad we booked directly through their website - you get a better price and a free drink :)
